naylor_n whether_o we_o may_v not_o lawful_o read_v the_o scripture_n which_o be_v write_v for_o our_o learning_n till_o they_o be_v inspire_v into_o we_o and_o that_o we_o have_v they_o by_o inspiration_n without_o read_v they_o what_o he_o will_v answer_v be_v a_o great_a question_n but_o in_o all_o likelihood_n he_o will_v make_v some_o evasion_n and_o not_o answer_v proper_o either_o yea_o or_o no_o least_o the_o serpent_n head_n shall_v be_v too_o visible_a and_o so_o in_o danger_n to_o be_v break_v by_o the_o sword_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n yet_o we_o may_v guess_v at_o his_o mind_n to_o wit_n that_o he_o account_v it_o in_o vain_a at_o least_o if_o not_o unlawful_a to_o read_v the_o scripture_n for_o he_o tell_v we_o plain_o that_o there_o be_v delude_v with_o a_o lie_a spirit_n and_o act_v by_o it_o in_o stead_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o to_o be_v carry_v blindfold_o to_o their_o great_a sin_n and_o condemnation_n and_o therefore_o what_o be_v that_o to_o the_o matter_n though_o satan_n have_v the_o scripture_n and_o have_v no_o good_a by_o it_o there_o be_v no_o promise_n therein_o for_o he_o or_o what_o if_o james_n naylor_n have_v it_o and_o find_v no_o life_n in_o it_o but_o a_o mere_a dead_a letter_n in_o his_o apprehension_n in_o regard_n he_o wre_v it_o and_o do_v not_o love_v it_o and_o therefore_o can_v afford_v it_o so_o much_o as_o a_o good_a word_n have_v a_o enmity_n against_o it_o not_o care_v much_o if_o it_o be_v all_o burn_v as_o it_o be_v very_o likely_a because_o it_o condemn_v he_o scripture_n commend_v his_o own_o as_o word_n that_o proceed_v immediate_o from_o the_o eternal_a spirit_n full_a of_o life_n and_o power_n but_o the_o scripture_n carnal_a and_o dead_a and_o vain_a yea_o vain_a he_o account_v they_o to_o such_o who_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n already_o though_o he_o can_v but_o know_v they_o be_v appoint_v of_o god_n as_o the_o chief_a mean_n for_o ministration_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o of_o life_n and_o power_n for_o what_o life_n and_o power_n can_v be_v communicate_v or_o administer_v to_o any_o man_n by_o ministration_n of_o man_n but_o
