world_n be_v likewise_o momentany_a vain_a and_o shall_v end_v by_o the_o fire_n we_o must_v not_o place_v our_o joy_n in_o any_o of_o those_o thing_n we_o must_v not_o then_o rejoice_v in_o please_a man_n or_o in_o be_v esteem_v or_o praise_v by_o they_o in_o be_v well_o do_v to_o well_o clothe_v well_o provide_v for_o and_o well_o accommodat_fw-la in_o all_o thing_n for_o all_o these_o thing_n shall_v perish_v for_o ever_o and_o all_o the_o joy_n of_o this_o world_n shall_v terminat_fw-la and_o end_n in_o a_o sadness_n which_o shall_v be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o sensible_o afflict_v as_o these_o joy_n have_v be_v more_o sensible_o relish_v and_o as_o we_o have_v set_v our_o heart_n more_o passionate_o on_o they_o but_o since_o that_o god_n alone_o be_v great_a eternal_a good_a and_o the_o author_n of_o all_o good_a we_o must_v not_o rejoice_v in_o any_o thing_n but_o in_o he_o only_o in_o his_o only_a will_n and_o in_o do_v of_o that_o only_a wise_a only_o good_a and_o only_o eternal_a and_o durable_a will._n §_o 52._o one_o 52._o certain_a ground_n of_o rejoice_v to_o be_v inculcate_v on_o young_a one_o we_o must_v therefore_o betimes_o excite_v young_a one_o to_o rejoice_v in_o god_n and_o in_o his_o holy_a will_n for_o instance_n 1._o with_o respect_n to_o god_n let_v they_o rejoice_v in_o this_o namely_o that_o they_o have_v a_o eternal_a and_o almighty_a god_n to_o be_v their_o father_n who_o do_v make_v they_o with_o design_n to_o fill_v they_o with_o a_o divine_a and_o eternal_a joy_n if_o they_o will_v do_v his_o holy_a will_n if_o they_o will_v love_v he_o and_o obey_v he_o and_o not_o love_v the_o honour_n the_o good_n nor_o the_o pleasure_n of_o this_o world_n which_o shall_v last_v but_o a_o little_a time_n let_v they_o rejoice_v in_o this_o that_o this_o god_n be_v without_o beginning_n and_o without_o end_n incomprehensible_a and_o more_o glorious_a than_o we_o be_v able_a to_o think_v that_o he_o can_v do_v all_o thing_n that_o he_o do_v all_o thing_n that_o he_o be_v only_o wise_a to_o teach_v we_o well_o and_o to_o govern_v we_o well_o that_o he_o be_v just_a that_o he_o be_v good_a and_o a_o continual_a spring_n of_o all_o good_a thing_n that_o he_o be_v faithful_a in_o his_o promise_n of_o eternal_a life_n that_o he_o be_v happy_a and_o glorious_a in_o himself_o let_v they_o rejoice_v moreover_o in_o this_o that_o god_n only_o deserve_v to_o be_v desire_v know_a esteem_a love_a praise_v and_o glorify_v for_o ever_o let_v they_o rejoice_v in_o this_o that_o god_n have_v assume_v our_o nature_n that_o he_o be_v become_v our_o brother_n and_o that_o he_o will_v take_v we_o for_o ever_o with_o himself_o unto_o his_o holy_a fellowship_n in_o heaven_n and_o that_o even_o in_o this_o world_n he_o will_v come_v and_o dwell_v in_o our_o heart_n if_o we_o desire_v he_o and_o do_v his_o will._n let_v they_o praise_v he_o and_o thank_v he_o for_o his_o goodness_n as_o well_o as_o for_o the_o knowledge_n which_o they_o have_v of_o it_o and_o the_o joy_n which_o they_o have_v in_o it_o disgrace_v 53._o 2._o they_o must_v be_v teach_v to_o rejeice_n when_o any_o thing_n be_v pious_o do_v whither_o by_o themselves_o or_o by_o other_o as_o also_o when_o they_o suffer_v &_o be_v reproach_v and_o disgrace_v §_o 53._o 2._o by_o the_o same_o mean_a &_o from_o the_o principle_n we_o shall_v make_v they_o easy_o understand_v that_o when_o any_o thing_n be_v do_v according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n whither_o by_o ourselves_o or_o by_o other_o we_o ought_v to_o rejoice_v at_o it_o as_o when_o our_o desire_n and_o our_o mind_n be_v form_v and_o manage_v after_o the_o manner_n i_o have_v al-already_a declare_v and_o whereof_o it_o will_v be_v profitable_a to_o let_v they_o see_v a_o application_n in_o particular_a instance_n and_o that_o on_o the_o contrar_n when_o any_o thing_n be_v do_v by_o man_n own_o will_n and_o according_a to_o it_o instead_o of_o rejoice_v at_o it_o we_o shall_v be_v sad_a and_o grieve_a at_o it_o for_o this_o reason_n it_o be_v that_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v sensible_o afflict_v for_o and_o very_o deep_o bewail_v the_o sin_n commit_v against_o god_n whether_o by_o ourselves_o or_o by_o other_o since_o when_o we_o sin_n we_o follow_v our_o own_o will_n in_o a_o disregard_n and_o rejection_n of_o the_o will_n of_o god_n further_n when_o man_n do_v esteem_v we_o and_o when_o they_o praise_v we_o if_o we_o be_v wise_a we_o will_v be_v trouble_v at_o it_o and_o we_o will_v say_v to_o god_n lord_n who_o art_n only_o good_a and_o the_o cause_n of_o all_o good_a it_o be_v thou_o alone_a who_o ought_v to_o be_v praise_v and_o it_o be_v a_o shameful_a robbery_n in_o the_o miserable_a creature_n to_o desire_v to_o take_v to_o itself_o that_o esteem_n and_o that_o praise_n which_o do_v appertain_v but_o to_o thou_o alone_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n when_o we_o be_v despise_v and_o undervalue_v or_o when_o any_o do_v we_o any_o injury_n or_o when_o we_o have_v not_o to_o our_o full_a content_n the_o thing_n which_o we_o desire_v we_o ought_v to_o rejoice_v at_o all_o these_o in_o our_o heart_n take_v they_o as_o be_v so_o dispense_v to_o we_o by_o the_o hand_n of_o our_o heavenly_a father_n and_o be_v content_a with_o they_o and_o say_v unto_o god_n lord_n i_o deserve_v nothing_o but_o reproach_n sorrow_n and_o destitution_n when_o i_o have_v these_o i_o have_v that_o which_o in_o justice_n belong_v to_o i_o and_o therefore_o i_o rejoice_v that_o thy_o divine_a justice_n be_v thus_o manifest_v in_o i_o even_o i_o give_v thou_o thanks_o
