court_n and_o condemn_v all_o the_o noble_n now_o if_o this_o poor_a man_n shall_v see_v all_o the_o noble_a man_n in_o chain_n that_o be_v guilty_a but_o of_o one_o offence_n and_o he_o perhaps_o drop_n of_o mercy_n can_v come_v forth_o not_o a_o drop_n of_o all_o that_o mercy_n that_o in_o the_o eternal_a purpose_n of_o god_n he_o have_v appoint_v in_o time_n shall_v come_v forth_o to_o such_o and_o such_o a_o poor_a creature_n but_o when_o he_o come_v to_o pardon_n and_o justification_n he_o pull_v out_o the_o plug_n and_o pull_v up_o the_o floodgate_n and_o sluice_n and_o then_o if_o one_o give_v you_o in_o payment_n silver_n gold_n and_o farthing_n you_o take_v the_o farthing_n and_o do_v not_o tell_v they_o but_o you_o tell_v the_o silver_n and_o the_o gold_n you_o not_o only_o tell_v it_o but_o weigh_v it_o too_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n because_o you_o little_a esteem_n of_o the_o brass_n and_o so_o will_v not_o tell_v it_o you_o more_o esteem_v the_o silver_n and_o therefore_o tell_v that_o but_o the_o gold_n you_o not_o only_o tell_v but_o weigh_v it_o because_o you_o have_v a_o great_a esteem_n of_o that_o than_o the_o other_o this_o be_v a_o argument_n may_v convince_v the_o man_n of_o the_o world_n that_o their_o esteem_n of_o earthly_a thing_n be_v more_o than_o of_o heaven_n and_o their_o soul_n because_o they_o labour_v to_o make_v earthly_a thing_n more_o sure_a than_o the_o thing_n of_o heaven_n a_o worldly_a man_n to_o make_v sure_a his_o estate_n will_v have_v bond_n upon_o bond_n and_o seal_v upon_o seal_n and_o carry_v his_o evidence_n to_o counsellor_n and_o say_v i_o beseech_v you_o sir_n see_v whether_o there_o be_v not_o some_o flaw_n in_o they_o i_o shall_v lose_v all_o my_o money_n if_o there_o be_v but_o a_o crack_n in_o my_o evidence_n he_o be_v mighty_a careful_a of_o this_o because_o he_o have_v such_o a_o high_a esteem_n of_o his_o worldly_a concern_v but_o how_o do_v it_o appear_v that_o man_n have_v spend_v their_o time_n and_o lay_v out_o themselves_o to_o get_v assurance_n take_v this_o one_o note_n because_o god_n see_v those_o that_o be_v his_o own_o people_n understand_v what_o forgiveness_n and_o justification_n of_o thy_o soul_n it_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o for_o faith_n to_o look_v upon_o god_n in_o this_o manner_n than_o to_o come_v in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o this_o god_n be_v merciful_a and_o i_o trust_v in_o his_o grace_n that_o he_o will_v pardon_v i_o we_o mistake_v mighty_o about_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n when_o we_o do_v not_o look_v upon_o it_o in_o a_o evangelical_n way_n as_o it_o be_v reveal_v in_o the_o gospel_n further_n know_v thus_o much_o that_o if_o god_n mercy_n will_v work_v so_o far_o for_o thou_o as_o to_o pardon_v thy_o sin_n and_o mercy_n will_v do_v great_a matter_n hereafter_o but_o nothing_o now_o in_o comparison_n of_o what_o he_o will_v do_v hereafter_o they_o think_v he_o will_v give_v they_o outward_a blessing_n now_o but_o keep_v spiritual_a thing_n till_o hereafter_o certain_o this_o be_v a_o infallible_a truth_n if_o god_n mercy_n work_v not_o so_o powerful_o here_o in_o this_o world_n as_o to_o bestow_v spiritual_a good_a thing_n on_o thou_o thou_o may_v be_v assure_v that_o it_o will_v never_o work_v so_o powerful_a on_o thou_o as_o to_o save_v thy_o soul_n in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v can_v it_o be_v think_v a_o prince_n pardon_v a_o malefactor_n that_o he_o shall_v not_o be_v hang_v and_o yet_o suffer_v he_o to_o lie_v in_o prison_n and_o rot_n in_o the_o dungeon_n this_o be_v but_o a_o poor_a pardon_n a_o half_a pardon_n to_o be_v deliver_v from_o the_o gallow_n and_o rot_v in_o the_o prison_n certain_o whatever_o a_o prince_n may_v do_v god_n never_o pardon_v a_o sinner_n so_o to_o some_o transient_a thought_n that_o pass_v over_o but_o it_o be_v a_o abide_a thing_n when_o man_n hear_v there_o be_v no_o way_n to_o be_v save_v but_o by_o christ_n and_o they_o can_v deny_v it_o and_o because_o they_o be_v loath_a to_o think_v they_o be_v such_o as_o can_v be_v save_v they_o be_v loath_a to_o have_v such_o ill_a thought_n of_o themselves_o &_o hear_v this_o be_v the_o way_n and_o no_o other_o therefore_o they_o will_v persuade_v themselves_o that_o they_o shall_v find_v mercy_n through_o christ_n now_o what_o great_a work_n be_v this_o so_o to_o rely_v on_o christ_n the_o work_n of_o faith_n be_v a_o mighty_a work_n it_o be_v not_o a_o short_a transient_a work_n a_o few_o thought_n upon_o thy_o heart_n to_o be_v save_v by_o christ_n no_o wheresoever_o faith_n be_v right_n and_o a_o true_a reliance_n on_o christ_n it_o be_v a_o mighty_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n work_v this_o grace_n in_o raise_v the_o soul_n high_o than_o itself_o and_o carry_v it_o through_o and_o above_o all_o difficulty_n when_o it_o bring_v the_o soul_n to_o rely_v upon_o god_n there_o may_v be_v great_a mistake_n when_o people_n say_v they_o rely_v upon_o christ_n and_o therefore_o take_v this_o for_o conviction_n rely_v on_o christ_n be_v not_o bare_o to_o think_v my_o sin_n be_v pardon_v by_o christ_n but_o it_o be_v a_o receive_n of_o christ_n a_o possess_n of_o christ_n a_o come_n into_o christ_n a_o live_n in_o christ_n and_o a_o bring_v christ_n to_o live_v in_o i_o it_o be_v eat_v of_o the_o flesh_n of_o christ_n and_o drink_v of_o his_o blood_n and_o so_o find_v nourishment_n and_o strength_n from_o he_o as_o real_o as_o the_o body_n by_o the_o meat_n and_o drink_v it_o take_v that_o abide_v with_o it_o be_v strengthen_v by_o it_o so_o do_v faith_n to_o the_o soul_n therefore_o faith_n be_v
in_o thou_o i_o say_v unto_o thou_o in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n be_v of_o good_a comfort_n thy_o sin_n be_v pardon_v god_n will_v show_v good_a unto_o thou_o when_o this_o world_n be_v end_v so_o certain_o where_o the_o preach_v of_o pardon_n of_o sin_n have_v power_n through_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n over_o a_o soul_n god_n give_v much_o to_o that_o soul_n and_o there_o be_v three_o thing_n especial_o that_o god_n give_v present_o unto_o the_o soul_n who_o he_o pardon_v which_o have_v all_o be_v mention_v before_o in_o open_v the_o blessedness_n of_o pardon_n of_o sin_n and_o therefore_o i_o will_v but_o mention_v they_o now_o to_o strengthen_v this_o note_n of_o trial_n 1._o have_v god_n forgive_v thou_o then_o he_o have_v give_v his_o spirit_n to_o enlighten_v thou_o in_o the_o great_a mystery_n of_o salvation_n thou_o plead_v thou_o be_v ignorant_a and_o be_v not_o book-learned_n if_o god_n have_v so_o great_a a_o favour_n for_o thou_o as_o to_o pardon_v thy_o sin_n he_o will_v give_v thou_o understanding_n in_o the_o mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n jer._n 31.34_o where_o god_n pardon_v sin_n they_o shall_v have_v this_o mercy_n to_o be_v teach_v of_o he_o 2._o god_n will_v give_v this_o unto_o thou_o he_o will_v write_v his_o law_n in_o thy_o heart_n that_o be_v he_o will_v work_v in_o thy_o heart_n a_o suitable_a frame_n and_o disposition_n to_o his_o law_n that_o thy_o heart_n and_o the_o law_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v like_o two_o copy_n that_o have_v the_o same_o thing_n in_o they_o and_o vary_v not_o one_o title_n from_o one_o another_o when_o thou_o be_v hear_v of_o his_o word_n thou_o may_v hence_o reason_n as_o manoa_n wife_n judg._n 13.23_o that_o certain_o if_o god_n have_v intend_v to_o have_v kill_v we_o he_o will_v not_o have_v receive_v a_o burn_v offer_v and_o a_o meat_n offer_v at_o our_o hand_n neither_o will_v he_o have_v show_v we_o all_o these_o thing_n so_o say_v to_o thy_o soul_n if_o god_n have_v intend_v the_o sun_n shine_v because_o it_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o it_o to_o shine_v so_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n must_v needs_o work_v free_o because_o it_o be_v his_o nature_n as_o the_o fire_n burn_v natural_o exod._n 34._o &_o mic._n 7.18_o god_n pardon_v because_o he_o delight_v in_o mercy_n thou_o say_v thou_o be_v a_o poor_a sinner_n well_o though_o it_o be_v so_o yet_o thou_o may_v say_v thy_o heart_n close_v with_o free_a grace_n than_o in_o all_o the_o legal_a work_n of_o humiliation_n what_o say_v christ_n this_o be_v the_o good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n of_o god_n and_o david_n be_v call_v a_o man_n after_o god_n own_o heart_n why_o because_o he_o be_v a_o man_n that_o will_v do_v his_o will_n so_o that_o this_o be_v a_o great_a encouragement_n though_o many_o abuse_v this_o and_o pervert_v it_o to_o their_o own_o destruction_n yet_o god_n will_v have_v it_o teach_v that_o thou_o may_v have_v the_o comfort_n of_o it_o and_o therefore_o thou_o shall_v close_v with_o god_n and_o come_v in_o and_o take_v hold_v of_o his_o pardon_v mercy_n nine_o though_o god_n have_v take_v such_o a_o way_n in_o mercy_n to_o pardon_v sin_n yet_o he_o lose_v nothing_o in_o his_o justice_n christ_n have_v take_v such_o order_n that_o his_o glory_n shall_v no_o way_n be_v diminish_v his_o justice_n shall_v be_v satisfy_v and_o therefore_o thou_o need_v not_o say_v thus_o i_o have_v so_o sin_v
