time_n where_o the_o governor_n and_o the_o generâ—â—â—ty_n of_o the_o country_n have_v be_v against_o it_o than_o indeed_o the_o take_n up_o of_o arm_n may_v have_v be_v very_o questionable_a but_o now_o when_o we_o live_v in_o such_o a_o place_n where_o our_o civil_a law_n be_v for_o the_o protection_n of_o we_o in_o the_o practice_n of_o our_o religion_n if_o any_o will_v come_v and_o disturb_v we_o we_o may_v take_v up_o arm_n because_o we_o have_v a_o right_n to_o the_o profession_n of_o it_o by_o the_o law_n of_o the_o kingdom_n 〈◊〉_d have_v to_o our_o house_n land_n and_o estate_n but_o that_o by_o the_o way_n but_o that_o be_v the_o thing_n i_o aim_v at_o in_o this_o use_n that_o though_o our_o civil_a right_n shall_v be_v lose_v yet_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n a_o king_n that_o can_v be_v see_v by_o the_o eye_n of_o sense_n nor_o by_o the_o eye_n of_o reason_n they_o have_v need_n have_v a_o eye_n of_o faith_n to_o behold_v their_o king_n in_o his_o glory_n the_o throne_n of_o this_o king_n of_o saint_n be_v not_o a_o visible_a throne_n to_o be_v see_v by_o the_o eye_n of_o sense_n and_o reason_n but_o by_o the_o eye_n of_o faith_n the_o privilege_n that_o we_o speak_v of_o be_v â—ot_n to_o be_v see_v and_o enjoy_v by_o sense_n and_o reason_n but_o by_o faith_n and_o so_o the_o ordinance_n of_o this_o kingdom_n and_o the_o law_n and_o statute_n of_o it_o they_o be_v spiritual_a and_o must_v have_v faith_n to_o close_v with_o they_o and_o all_o the_o comfort_n of_o this_o kingdom_n must_v be_v draw_v in_o by_o faith_n therefore_o it_o be_v of_o absolute_a necessity_n that_o the_o saint_n shall_v exercise_v much_o faith_n in_o their_o life_n that_o they_o shall_v live_v continual_o by_o faith_n as_o the_o apostle_n say_v in_o 2_o cor._n 5._o 7._o for_o we_o walk_v by_o faith_n and_o not_o by_o sight_n it_o be_v not_o by_o sight_n we_o walk_v indeed_o all_o the_o good_a thing_n that_o there_o be_v in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o though_o he_o by_o his_o understanding_n must_v needs_o know_v that_o mercy_n be_v a_o good_a thing_n and_o therefore_o in_o god_n the_o first_o be_v of_o all_o but_o yet_o he_o do_v not_o understand_v that_o mercy_n that_o the_o gospel_n hold_v forth_o yea_o the_o angel_n in_o heaven_n know_v it_o not_o but_o by_o the_o gospel_n and_o so_o they_o desire_v to_o pry_v into_o those_o deep_a mercy_n of_o god_n unto_o man_n kind_a oh_o here_o be_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o shall_v be_v the_o subject_n of_o the_o praise_n of_o angel_n and_o of_o the_o saint_n to_o all_o eternity_n hold_v forth_o in_o the_o gospel_n you_o think_v it_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n when_o a_o child_n be_v sick_a that_o god_n recover_v it_o you_o think_v it_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n when_o you_o be_v at_o sea_n that_o god_n turn_v the_o wind_n when_o if_o it_o have_v stand_v but_o one_o half_a hour_n more_o that_o way_n it_o do_v you_o have_v lose_v vessel_n life_n and_o all_o when_o you_o have_v be_v in_o any_o danger_n abroad_o in_o foreign_a part_n that_o the_o lord_n be_v a_o present_a help_n in_o time_n of_o trouble_n when_o there_o have_v be_v any_o affliction_n upon_o your_o family_n that_o god_n have_v send_v deliverance_n to_o you_o these_o be_v mercy_n that_o god_n be_v to_o be_v praise_v for_o oh_o but_o what_o be_v all_o these_o to_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n his_o right-hand_a mercy_n and_o indeed_o this_o will_v be_v a_o good_a argument_n of_o a_o gracious_a heart_n when_o any_o particular_a mercy_n be_v grant_v unto_o they_o either_o family_n mercy_n or_o personal_a mercy_n thus_o to_o meditate_v lord_n i_o be_o less_o i_o be_o less_o than_o the_o least_o of_o all_o thy_o mercy_n yet_o here_o be_v seasonable_a comfortable_a mercy_n to_o i_o and_o i_o etc._n etc._n but_o o_o lord_n what_o be_v all_o this_o to_o that_o infinite_a fountain_n of_o mercy_n in_o christ_n thy_o mercy_n in_o the_o gospel_n thy_o mercy_n in_o thy_o son_n there_o be_v depth_n infinite_a depth_n of_o mercy_n indeed_o this_o be_v but_o a_o drop_n and_o indeed_o that_o be_v sweet_a but_o the_o infinite_a ocean_n of_o mercy_n it_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ_n christ_n be_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n to_o mankind_n in_o the_o bowel_n of_o which_o all_o other_o mercy_n be_v conceive_v and_o bring_v forth_o in_o the_o world_n all_o my_o fresh_a spring_n both_o upper_a and_o nether_a spring_n be_v in_o he_o who_o be_v all_o in_o all._n oh_o it_o be_v a_o good_a argument_n that_o the_o gospel_n be_v reveal_v to_o you_o if_o you_o mercy_n of_o god_n god_n be_v say_v in_o the_o word_n to_o be_v rich_a in_o mercy_n he_o be_v not_o say_v so_o much_o to_o be_v rich_a in_o power_n as_o rich_a in_o mercy_n now_o what_o conversation_n be_v suitable_a to_o this_o what_o be_v that_o but_o as_o christ_n himself_o say_v be_v you_o merciful_a as_o your_o heavenly_a father_n be_v merciful_a oh_o have_v you_o a_o merciful_a heart_n one_o towards_o another_o look_v with_o a_o merciful_a eye_n upon_o those_o who_o be_v in_o great_a misery_n this_o be_v it_o that_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n oh_o a_o harsh_a rugged_a and_o cruel_a disposition_n it_o be_v infinite_o unbeseeming_a the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n to_o see_v a_o christian_n one_o that_o profess_v the_o gospel_n that_o make_v more_o profession_n of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o of_o the_o free_a grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n than_o other_o and_o yet_o when_o it_o come_v to_o it_o that_o he_o have_v to_o deal_v with_o such_o as_o be_v in_o misery_n to_o have_v a_o hard_a heart_n oh_o a_o hard_a heart_a christian_a be_v a_o monster_n i_o say_v a_o hard_a heart_a christian_a be_v a_o monster_n in_o the_o world_n not_o to_o be_v ready_a to_o forgive_v other_o and_o to_o do_v any_o thing_n for_o other_o that_o be_v in_o misery_n be_v devilish_a but_o to_o rejoice_v that_o they_o may_v have_v any_o object_n to_o show_v pity_n and_o compassion_n unto_o oh_o this_o be_v that_o which_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n though_o they_o be_v stranger_n to_o you_o that_o be_v in_o misery_n yet_o be_v merciful_a to_o they_o for_o you_o be_v stranger_n to_o god_n yea_o be_v merciful_a to_o your_o enemy_n not_o only_o be_v willing_a to_o be_v at_o peace_n but_o be_v merciful_a do_v you_o see_v any_o that_o have_v wrong_v to_o that_o in_o col._n 3._o 13._o in_o the_o 4._o of_o the_o ephes_n there_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o the_o mercy_n of_o christ_n say_v he_o let_v all_o bitterness_n and_o wrath_n and_o anger_n and_o clamour_n and_o evil_a speak_n be_v put_v away_o from_o you_o with_o all_o malice_n and_o be_v you_o kind_a one_o to_o another_o tender_a heart_a forgive_a one_o another_o even_o as_o god_n find_v your_o heart_n begin_v to_o break_v towards_o they_o if_o you_o do_v not_o find_v your_o heart_n break_v oh_o set_v before_o you_o the_o infinite_a tenderness_n of_o god_n mercy_n in_o jesus_n christ_n and_o it_o be_v that_o will_v break_v your_o heart_n if_o any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n will_v and_o so_o in_o col._n 3._o 13._o a_o place_n somewhat_o parallel_v to_o this_o forbearing_z one_o another_o and_o forgive_a one_o another_o if_o any_o man_n have_v a_o quarrel_n against_o any_o even_o as_o christ_n forgive_v you_o so_o also_o do_v you_o and_o above_o all_o these_o thing_n put_v on_o charity_n you_o see_v the_o apostle_n account_v this_o the_o great_a argument_n of_o all_o and_o therefore_o know_v that_o the_o lord_n take_v it_o very_o much_o to_o heart_n when_o the_o within_o as_o by_o the_o affliction_n of_o the_o saint_n god_n do_v declare_v to_o wicked_a man_n and_o will_v have_v they_o draw_v such_o a_o argument_n from_o it_o that_o there_o be_v fearful_a thing_n that_o be_v like_a to_o befall_v they_o if_o judgement_n begin_v at_o the_o house_n of_o god_n where_o shall_v the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a appear_v so_o by_o the_o prosperity_n that_o into_o a_o episcopal_a seat_n and_o be_v a_o lewd_a wicked_a man_n he_o begin_v to_o be_v proud_a of_o this_o his_o advancement_n and_o be_v proud_a he_o hear_v these_o word_n in_o the_o story_n ab_fw-la angelo_fw-la audivit_fw-la cur_n superbus_fw-la o_o infaelix_fw-la non_fw-la es_fw-la creatus_fw-la episcopus_fw-la quia_fw-la tu_fw-la dignus_fw-la sed_fw-la quia_fw-la civitas_n haec_fw-la to_o that_o place_n god_n advance_v such_o a_o man_n and_o so_o many_o be_v advance_v that_o they_o may_v be_v heavy_a judgement_n unto_o other_o god_n give_v they_o such_o a_o portion_n not_o out_o of_o his_o love_n to_o they_o though_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o gather_v the_o argument_n but_o out_o of_o his_o displeasure_n unto_o other_o and_o then_o he_o give_v a_o plentiful_a portion_n to_o many_o to_o teach_v we_o all_o to_o do_v good_a unto_o our_o enemy_n not_o only_a humanitati_fw-la as_o they_o say_v but_o homini_fw-la not_o only_o to_o human_a nature_n but_o to_o man_n to_o man_n that_o be_v wicked_a some_o good_a must_v be_v do_v unto_o they_o nine_o the_o lord_n will_v show_v hereby_o that_o he_o will_v have_v no_o argument_n of_o love_n or_o hatred_n to_o be_v draw_v from_o these_o outward_a thing_n and_o also_o because_o he_o will_v not_o have_v they_o to_o expect_v any_o more_o it_o may_v be_v many_o man_n that_o be_v ungodly_a prosper_v in_o this_o world_n they_o gather_v this_o argument_n that_o therefore_o god_n love_v they_o and_o intend_v mercy_n to_o they_o cujus_fw-la contrarium_fw-la verum_fw-la nay_o you_o may_v rather_o gather_v a_o argument_n quite_o
