that_o how_o so_o ever_o the_o devil_n and_o wicked_a people_n take_v upon_o they_o to_o usurp_v by_o violence_n war_n and_o tyranny_n and_o live_v never_o so_o princely_a in_o pomp_n and_o pride_n they_o be_v but_o usurper_n if_o they_o come_v to_o it_o wrongful_o for_o the_o kingdom_n appertain_v unto_o god._n and_o how_o so_o ever_o they_o extend_v their_o power_n in_o god_n sight_n they_o be_v crucify_v unto_o i_o and_o i_o unto_o the_o world_n that_o be_v because_o i_o put_v all_o my_o trust_n of_o salvation_n say_v saint_n paul_n in_o he_o that_o be_v crucify_v the_o world_n take_v much_o lament_v that_o put_v in_o vanity_n so_o much_o vain_a hope_n but_o grant_v that_o honour_n and_o riches_n by_o god_n gift_n and_o truth_n abound_v yet_o be_v they_o not_o give_v for_o man_n first_o be_v two_o thing_n to_o be_v note_v the_o one_o declare_v a_o fault_n in_o the_o prophets_n faith_n and_o the_o other_o express_v a_o verity_n in_o the_o prophets_n knowledge_n the_o fault_n in_o his_o faith_n be_v to_o doubt_v or_o to_o stand_v in_o a_o mamere_n of_o god_n mercy_n which_o be_v most_o sure_a and_o endure_v for_o ever_o and_o ever_o and_o to_o ask_v this_o question_n whether_o his_o mercy_n be_v clean_o go_v for_o ever_o the_o verity_n of_o his_o knowledge_n be_v to_o judge_v and_o say_v that_o it_o be_v his_o mercy_n that_o forgive_v sin_n and_o not_o he_o or_o occupy_v his_o cogitation_n this_o way_n will_v god_n be_v no_o more_o merciful_a have_v god_n shut_v up_o his_o mercy_n in_o his_o ire_n but_o now_o in_o the_o second_o record_n of_o god_n work_n profit_v nothing_o to_o read_v or_o hear_v god_n word_n except_o we_o remember_v it_o &_o bear_v it_o away_o with_o us._n by_o the_o next_o we_o learn_v that_o it_o avail_v we_o not_o to_o learn_v and_o bear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o remembrance_n except_o by_o meditation_n and_o think_v upon_o it_o we_o understand_v what_o it_o mean_v and_o by_o the_o three_o we_o learn_v that_o neither_o the_o remembrance_n it_o nor_o the_o understanding_n thereof_o profit_v except_o we_o teach_v and_o instruct_v other_o in_o the_o same_o of_o who_o we_o have_v charge_n if_o we_o may_v now_o to_o consider_v further_o we_o see_v how_o the_o prophet_n begin_v with_o this_o word_n remembrance_n whereof_o it_o appear_v that_o he_o have_v learn_v before_o out_o of_o god_n word_n god_n nature_n towards_o penitent_a sinner_n to_o forgive_v they_o and_o towards_o wilful_a obstinate_a and_o impenitent_a sinner_n to_o be_v a_o just_a judge_n to_o punish_v they_o here_o be_v the_o ignorance_n of_o all_o people_n condemn_v that_o never_o learn_v to_o know_v god_n word_n in_o sickness_n nor_o in_o health_n but_o when_o they_o be_v trouble_v or_o sick_a they_o send_v for_o such_o as_o they_o think_v and_o fancy_n have_v learned_a and_o do_v remember_v how_o god_n word_n do_v comfort_n in_o adversity_n and_o then_o if_o he_o that_o be_v send_v for_o be_v not_o learned_a in_o god_n word_n he_o can_v remember_v how_o god_n be_v wont_a to_o comfort_v the_o trouble_a or_o sick_a then_o all_o that_o ever_o the_o sick_a man_n hear_v of_o a_o ignorant_a comforter_n or_o counsellor_n be_v as_o clean_o void_a of_o consolation_n or_o counsel_n as_o though_o he_o have_v never_o send_v for_o a_o counsellor_n or_o comforter_n for_o no_o man_n can_v have_v more_o of_o another_o than_o the_o other_o have_v himself_o which_o be_v neither_o knowledge_n counsel_n nor_o consolation_n out_o of_o god_n word_n therefore_o he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o give_v knowledge_n consolation_n nor_o when_o the_o prophet_n be_v in_o trouble_n he_o remember_v the_o wisdom_n and_o marvellous_a work_n of_o god_n for_o he_o know_v they_o before_o so_o let_v all_o man_n and_o woman_n learn_v before_o they_o come_v into_o trouble_n a_o true_a knowledge_n of_o god_n that_o in_o the_o time_n of_o trouble_n they_o may_v remember_v it_o to_o their_o consolation_n but_o now_o to_o the_o second_o word_n where_o he_o say_v he_o will_v meditate_v in_o all_o the_o work_n of_o god_n here_o be_v another_o notable_a doctrine_n that_o neither_o the_o learning_n of_o god_n word_n nor_o the_o remembrance_n condemn_v the_o one_o sort_n be_v those_o that_o for_o custom_n or_o bondage_n to_o their_o profession_n do_v learn_v without_o the_o book_n a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o scripture_n or_o else_o by_o daily_a use_n in_o sing_v or_o say_v their_o service_n as_o it_o be_v call_v they_o learn_v to_o sing_v and_o say_v a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o bible_n but_o this_o avail_v nothing_o nor_o they_o understand_v it_o not_o in_o the_o sense_n and_o meaning_n that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n appoint_v it_o for_o nor_o perchance_o the_o grammatical_a construction_n thereof_o and_o these_o remembrance_n of_o god_n word_n be_v nothing_o but_o lip_n labour_n and_o honour_v of_o god_n with_o the_o mouth_n 29._o but_o the_o hart_n be_v far_o away_o which_o before_o god_n be_v in_o vain_a 15._o and_o of_o to_o justice_n 10._o so_o will_v they_o confess_v it_o to_o salvation_n as_o s._n paul_n say_v to_o the_o roman_n here_o in_o this_o word_n be_v three_o sort_n of_o people_n condemn_v condemn_v the_o one_o that_o will_v not_o confess_v and_o teach_v the_o truth_n for_o fear_n of_o lose_v their_o advantage_n the_o other_o will_v not_o confess_v and_o teach_v the_o truth_n for_o sluggishness_n and_o sloth_n and_o the_o three_o will_v not_o confess_v and_o teach_v the_o truth_n for_o timidity_n and_o fear_n in_o the_o first_o sort_n be_v such_o as_o know_v doctrine_n for_o the_o soul_n or_o medicine_n for_o the_o body_n and_o yet_o because_o they_o get_v gain_n thereby_o they_o will_v not_o have_v too_o many_o know_v thereof_o lest_o their_o own_o gain_n shall_v be_v the_o less_o as_o we_o fee_n such_o a_o one_o as_o know_v a_o good_a method_n and_o order_n to_o teach_v will_v be_v loath_a it_o shall_v be_v common_a because_o his_o estimation_n and_o gain_n as_o he_o think_v shall_v diminish_v &_o decrease_v the_o excellent_a physician_n will_v not_o have_v his_o cunning_a common_a lest_o many_o man_n as_o cunning_a as_o he_o shall_v part_v his_o gain_n amongst_o they_o the_o second_o sort_n of_o man_n be_v those_o that_o come_v to_o great_a live_n by_o their_o learning_n well_o and_o when_o they_o have_v the_o reward_n of_o learning_n they_o teach_v no_o more_o as_o bishop_n and_o minister_n of_o the_o church_n who_o the_o prophet_n call_v dumb_a dog_n that_o can_v bark_v 56._o their_o mouth_n be_v so_o choke_v with_o the_o bone_n of_o bishopric_n and_o shall_v sound_v to_o god_n glory_n and_o these_o man_n be_v assure_v they_o shall_v have_v their_o reward_n 10._o that_o christ_n will_v deny_v they_o before_o his_o father_n which_o be_v in_o heaven_n of_o this_o we_o learn_v wherein_o our_o profession_n consist_v consist_v first_o to_o learn_v god_n word_n secondary_o to_o bear_v it_o in_o our_o heart_n and_o remembrance_n three_o to_o
