and_o these_o especial_o be_v four_o i._o pride_n of_o heart_n a_o vile_a affection_n whereby_o we_o seek_v our_o own_o praise_n and_o glory_n and_o not_o god_n this_o be_v natural_a and_o so_o the_o more_o hardly_o discern_v but_o while_o it_o be_v nourish_v god_n glory_n be_v neglect_v and_o therefore_o when_o we_o desire_v to_o glorify_v god_n name_n we_o must_v acknowledge_v and_o bewail_v this_o inward_a corruption_n ii_o want_n of_o zeal_n coldness_n of_o heart_n towards_o god_n this_o be_v a_o inward_a corruption_n which_o debase_v the_o lord_n in_o our_o heart_n and_o take_v away_o come_v for_o lack_n of_o that_o feel_n in_o prayer_n which_o christ_n here_o require_v thus_o much_o of_o the_o commandment_n in_o general_n now_o out_o of_o the_o word_n more_o particular_o we_o may_v observe_v two_o point_n first_o where_o christ_n bid_v we_o ask_v seek_v knock_v he_o speak_v not_o particular_o to_o some_o but_o general_o to_o all_o his_o servant_n so_o that_o all_o must_v pray_v which_o plain_o imply_v that_o his_o best_a and_o dear_a servant_n be_v during_o this_o life_n in_o want_n of_o perfect_a some_o grace_n or_o blessing_n and_o indeed_o when_o god_n give_v most_o excellent_a gift_n and_o blessing_n to_o his_o child_n yet_o than_o he_o leave_v they_o in_o some_o notable_a want_n or_o trial_n for_o their_o humiliation_n and_o provocation_n to_o prayer_n paul_n be_v take_v up_o into_o paradise_n and_o there_o hear_v word_n that_o can_v possible_o 4._o be_v utter_v by_o man_n in_o this_o life_n this_o be_v a_o great_a grace_n and_o prerogative_n but_o yet_o to_o humble_v he_o lest_o he_o shall_v be_v exalt_v out_o of_o measure_n there_o be_v give_v he_o a_o prick_n in_o the_o flesh_n the_o messenger_n of_o satan_n to_o buffet_v he_o hereby_o he_o be_v bring_v to_o pray_v most_o earnest_o for_o deliverance_n but_o yet_o he_o must_v rest_v content_v with_o god_n grace_n for_o god_n will_v make_v perfect_a his_o power_n through_o the_o weakness_n confirm_v in_o the_o next_o second_o by_o a_o comparison_n verse_n 9_o for_o the_o first_o the_o reason_n from_o the_o promise_n in_o this_o verse_n may_v thus_o be_v frame_v if_o they_o which_o ask_v shall_v receive_v if_o they_o that_o seek_v shall_v find_v and_o they_o that_o knock_n shall_v be_v let_v in_o then_o do_v you_o ask_v seek_v and_o knock_v but_o they_o that_o ask_v shall_v receive_v they_o that_o seek_v shall_v find_v etc._n etc._n therefore_o do_v you_o ask_v seek_v and_o knock_v in_o this_o reason_n our_o saviour_n christ_n teach_v we_o that_o when_o we_o pray_v to_o prayer_n
