similitude_n between_o god_n forgive_a and_o we_o which_o must_v be_v right_o understand_v because_o our_o forgiveness_n be_v mingle_v with_o much_o corruption_n through_o want_n of_o mercy_n and_o therefore_o we_o must_v not_o understand_v it_o of_o the_o measure_n of_o forgiveness_n nor_o yet_o of_o the_o manner_n simple_o but_o especial_o of_o the_o very_a act_n of_o forgive_a and_o the_o this_o sin_n be_v a_o spiteful_a resistance_n of_o the_o gospel_n against_o the_o knowledge_n and_o light_n of_o conscience_n after_o the_o spirit_n have_v persuade_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o benefit_n thereof_o and_o when_o a_o man_n sin_v out_o of_o malice_n and_o spite_n against_o god_n himself_o and_o christ_n jesus_n which_o be_v not_o every_o sin_n of_o presumption_n or_o against_o knowledge_n and_o conscience_n but_o such_o a_o kind_n of_o presumptuous_a offence_n in_o which_o true_a religion_n be_v renounce_v and_o that_o of_o set_a purpose_n and_o resolve_v malice_n favour_n of_o god_n who_o yet_o even_o then_o be_v not_o absent_a from_o they_o neither_o have_v forget_v they_o the_o hour_n of_o temptation_n with_o the_o faithful_a be_v the_o time_n of_o winter_n wherein_o their_o faith_n and_o grace_n seem_v as_o it_o be_v benumb_v but_o when_o the_o rejoice_v beam_n of_o the_o sun_n of_o righteousness_n break_v forth_o dissipate_v and_o chase_v away_o from_o the_o poor_a bemisted_a soul_n the_o thick_a cloud_n of_o false_a and_o forge_a suggestion_n his_o faith_n appear_v the_o spring_n of_o grace_n approach_v they_o show_v forth_o by_o lively_a effect_n that_o they_o still_o retain_v life_n and_o be_v not_o dead_a to_o the_o present_a operation_n of_o unspeakable_a comfort_n in_o the_o late_a cloud_a soul_n in_o such_o distress_n let_v no_o man_n think_v the_o weight_n of_o his_o sin_n can_v overbalance_n the_o merit_n of_o his_o saviour_n the_o celestial_a light_n may_v suffer_v eclipse_n and_o we_o must_v walk_v by_o faith_n not_o by_o feel_v now_o the_o true_a application_n of_o life_n everlasting_a promise_v in_o and_o by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n be_v the_o general_a remedy_n for_o all_o distress_n but_o note_n that_o the_o distress_a in_o mind_n be_v not_o fit_a for_o comfort_n till_o they_o be_v humble_v for_o their_o sin_n for_o till_o then_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v misapply_v and_o so_o abuse_v despair_n be_v a_o sin_n whereby_o a_o man_n make_v shipwreck_n of_o all_o hope_n of_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n arise_v from_o a_o false_a consideration_n of_o his_o sin_n which_o he_o have_v commit_v or_o the_o good_a which_o he_o have_v omit_v with_o a_o persuasion_n that_o god_n be_v neither_o able_a nor_o willing_a to_o forgive_v he_o thus_o the_o desperate_a man_n believe_v not_o that_o god_n be_v either_o good_a true_a faithful_a or_o powerful_a he_o may_v indeed_o have_v some_o conceit_n that_o he_o be_v so_o in_o general_n but_o that_o he_o be_v so_o to_o he_o in_o particular_a and_o
