of_o their_o blood_n set_v they_o clear_a nor_o likewise_o the_o water_n which_o be_v a_o corruptible_a element_n and_o can_v come_v at_o the_o soul_n so_o then_o the_o wash_n which_o they_o use_v have_v be_v a_o fond_a thing_n if_o it_o have_v not_o direct_v they_o to_o the_o spiritual_a wash_n which_o we_o have_v in_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n likewise_o in_o baptism_n at_o these_o day_n make_v we_o find_v favour_n in_o god_n sight_n than_o only_a faith_n there_o be_v no_o seek_v of_o help_n else_o where_o in_o that_o behalf_n for_o that_o be_v yet_o too_o gross_a a_o error_n he_o afflict_v i_o to_o morrow_n with_o some_o other_o affliction_n what_o be_v my_o life_n if_o i_o rest_v upon_o the_o world_n so_o then_o the_o prophet_n mean_v to_o declare_v that_o although_o not_o any_o other_o doctrine_n than_o that_o and_o also_o that_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o the_o free_a mercy_n of_o our_o god_n for_o the_o law_n say_v he_o be_v give_v four_o hundred_o and_o thirty_o year_n after_o the_o promise_n of_o salvation_n now_o when_o any_o covenant_n be_v make_v though_o it_o be_v but_o between_o man_n yet_o ought_v it_o too_o be_v keep_v if_o it_o be_v once_o thorough_o agree_v upon_o therefore_o it_o follow_v that_o the_o law_n be_v not_o give_v too_o disanuall_a the_o covenant_n that_o god_n have_v make_v with_o abraham_n chief_o in_o the_o behalf_n of_o his_o lineage_n and_o final_o in_o the_o behalf_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n true_a it_o be_v that_o at_o the_o first_o blush_v this_o argument_n of_o saint_n paul_n may_v seem_v very_o weak_a for_o we_o know_v that_o second_o covenante_n do_v always_o repeal_v former_a covenante_n in_o so_o much_o that_o although_o man_n have_v make_v any_o bargain_n yet_o they_o may_v advyze_v themselves_o better_a and_o thereupon_o change_v their_o mind_n and_o so_o the_o first_o bargain_n shall_v be_v as_o good_a as_o bury_v as_o much_o be_v to_o be_v say_v of_o law_n and_o statute_n for_o a_o former_a law_n may_v well_o be_v repeal_v and_o disannul_v by_o a_o second_o law_n but_o saint_n paul_n presuppose_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v too_o be_v consider_v in_o this_o matter_n which_o be_v that_o when_o a_o man_n have_v once_o promise_v yea_o and_o solemn_o bind_v himself_o he_o will_v not_o go_v back_o again_o but_o be_v as_o good_a as_o his_o word_n howbeit_o if_o both_o the_o party_n agree_v too_o change_v the_o thing_n that_o they_o have_v consent_v on_o and_o be_v both_o of_o one_o mind_n then_o may_v it_o be_v so_o but_o it_o be_v no_o fit_a similitude_n too_o take_v man_n that_o be_v fickleminded_a and_o changeable_a through_o lightness_n or_o by_o better_a advice_n but_o s._n paul_n presuppose_v a_o covenant_n too_o be_v make_v by_o a_o man_n that_o will_v stand_v to_o it_o and_o not_o fall_v too_o scan_v afterward_o how_o to_o shift_v it_o off_o by_o any_o mean_n at_o all_o for_o if_o any_o of_o the_o party_n shall_v do_v against_o the_o former_a covenant_n it_o be_v a_o falsehood_n that_o be_v not_o to_o be_v bear_v with_o among_o man_n because_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v enregister_v so_o solemn_o aught_o to_o be_v stand_v too_o and_o perform_v without_o any_o gaynsay_n now_o then_o shall_v there_o be_v less_o steadfastness_n in_o god_n than_o in_o man_n which_o be_v nothing_o but_o vanity_n the_o gospel_n therefore_o must_v continue_v unimpeach_v notwithstanding_o that_o the_o law_n come_v in_o after_o the_o make_n of_o the_o free_a promise_n this_o will_v be_v still_o dark_a if_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v declare_v in_o order_n i_o have_v show_v heretofore_o what_o comparison_n s._n paul_n make_v between_o the_o law_n and_o the_o gospel_n for_o whereas_o god_n promise_v salvation_n in_o his_o law_n it_o be_v upon_o condition_n that_o man_n serve_v he_o and_o do_v their_o duty_n towards_o he_o but_o that_o be_v not_o do_v and_o therefore_o be_v we_o shut_v out_o from_o all_o hope_n of_o salvation_n as_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o law_n not_o that_o god_n be_v not_o faithful_a on_o his_o side_n but_o because_o we_o keep_v not_o touch_v with_o he_o in_o perform_v that_o which_o he_o require_v it_o be_v all_o one_o as_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v say_v i_o be_o ready_a to_o sell_v you_o this_o thing_n so_o you_o bring_v i_o money_n now_o if_o a_o man_n bring_v neither_o money_n nor_o money_n worth_a he_o can_v not_o be_v put_v in_o possession_n of_o the_o thing_n that_o he_o will_v have_v for_o the_o condition_n be_v that_o he_o must_v first_o pay_v for_o it_o so_o then_o god_n promise_v we_o the_o heritage_n of_o salvation_n when_o we_o shall_v have_v serve_v he_o but_o we_o be_v never_o the_o better_a for_o it_o because_o it_o be_v but_o upon_o condition_n that_o we_o perform_v that_o which_o he_o require_v of_o we_o and_o we_o be_v fraught_v with_o all_o iniquity_n and_o have_v not_o any_o thing_n in_o we_o but_o uncleanness_n and_o filth_n in_o somuche_o that_o we_o be_v just_o odious_a unto_o he_o and_o so_o be_v we_o all_o condemn_v in_o the_o law_n howbeit_o god_n receyve_v we_o of_o his_o free_a goodness_n in_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n in_o who_o he_o offer_v we_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o will_v have_v we_o so_o too_o embrace_v his_o offer_a goodness_n as_o we_o shall_v hold_v ourselves_o whole_o to_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o utter_o renounce_v ourselves_o but_o now_o say_v saint_n paul_n let_v we_o see_v whither_o go_v before_o other_o in_o antiquity_n the_o free_a promise_n of_o salvation_n or_o the_o law_n we_o know_v the_o diversity_n that_o be_v betwixt_o they_o then_o if_o the_o law_n be_v the_o auncient_a it_o may_v seem_v that_o that_o aught_o to_o be_v stick_v too_o because_o god_n do_v never_o unsay_v his_o word_n neither_o be_v variable_a but_o if_o the_o free_a promise_n be_v the_o elder_a and_o be_v make_v before_o the_o law_n be_v publish_v it_o be_v to_o be_v conclude_v that_o god_n repent_v he_o not_o ne_o call_v back_o his_o promise_n at_o that_o time_n ne_o mean_v to_o disannul_v the_o say_a covenant_n for_o it_o be_v too_o great_a a_o diminish_n of_o his_o bounty_n and_o mercy_n if_o we_o shall_v say_v that_o he_o have_v first_o bind_v himself_o of_o his_o own_o free_a goodness_n and_o promise_v man_n salvation_n without_o their_o desert_n and_o afterward_o intend_v to_o restrain_v it_o as_o
