good_a i_o will_v hut_a i_o delight_v in_o the_o law_n of_o the_o lord_n concern_v the_o inner_a man._n this_o be_v paul_n comfort_n and_o this_o be_v the_o comfort_n of_o all_o god_n child_n if_o they_o can_v true_o say_v i_o do_v the_o evil_n i_o will_v not_o i_o delight_v in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n that_o god_n will_v accept_v the_o will_n for_o the_o deed_n therefore_o let_v this_o be_v unto_o the_o lord_n treat_v of_o what_o manner_n of_o captivity_n this_o psalm_n treat_v he_o will_v show_v mercy_n unto_o they_o and_o bring_v they_o home_o into_o their_o land_n again_o but_o in_o my_o opinion_n they_o go_v near_o to_o the_o sense_n and_o true_a meaning_n of_o the_o psalm_n which_o do_v refer_v it_o to_o that_o great_a and_o general_a captivity_n of_o mankind_n under_o sin_n death_n
and_o the_o devil_n and_o to_o the_o redemption_n purchase_v by_o the_o death_n and_o bloodshedding_n of_o christ_n and_o publish_v in_o the_o gospel_n for_o this_o kind_n of_o speech_n which_o the_o prophet_n use_v here_o be_v of_o great_a importance_n then_o that_o it_o may_v be_v apply_v only_o to_o these_o particular_a captivity_n for_o what_o great_a matter_n be_v it_o for_o these_o people_n of_o the_o jew_n be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o little_a handful_n to_o be_v deliver_v out_o of_o temporal_a captivity_n in_o comparison_n of_o the_o exceed_a &_o incomparable_a deliverance_n whereby_o mankind_n be_v set_v at_o liberty_n from_o the_o power_n of_o their_o enemy_n not_o temporal_a but_o eternal_a even_o from_o death_n satan_n and_o hell_n itself_o wherefore_o we_o take_v this_o psalm_n to_o be_v a_o prophecy_n of_o the_o redemption_n that_o shall_v come_v by_o jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o publish_n of_o the_o gospel_n whereby_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n be_v advance_v death_n and_o the_o devil_n with_o all_o the_o power_n of_o darkness_n be_v vanquish_v this_o psalm_n be_v thus_o general_o understand_v may_v afterward_o be_v apply_v to_o every_o particular_a promise_n of_o the_o come_n of_o christ_n for_o redemption_n and_o salvation_n be_v first_o promise_v to_o the_o people_n of_o zion_n and_o to_o the_o child_n of_o abraham_n after_o the_o flesh_n this_o people_n be_v in_o bondage_n under_o the_o law_n and_o by_o the_o law_n under_o the_o captivity_n of_o death_n and_o sinne._n now_o if_o this_o people_n complain_v of_o their_o captivity_n and_o sigh_v for_o their_o deliverance_n what_o shall_v we_o think_v of_o the_o gentile_n which_o live_v in_o idolatry_n and_o in_o their_o own_o lust_n without_o any_o law_n &_o without_o god_n he_o can_v not_o therefore_o have_v signify_v a_o more_o general_a and_o more_o grievous_a captivity_n then_o when_o he_o say_v that_o his_o own_o people_n of_o zion_n do_v long_o for_o this_o deliverance_n which_o in_o outward_a appearance_n be_v most_o holy_a and_o under_o david_n and_o saul_n do_v mighty_o flourish_v but_o behold_v how_o lively_o he_o set_v forth_o that_o joy_n which_o shall_v follow_v this_o deliverance_n we_o shall_v be_v say_v he_o like_o they_o that_o dream_n by_o this_o kind_n of_o speech_n he_o express_v the_o greatness_n of_o their_o joy_n meaning_n that_o
