have_v god_n give_v to_o you_o the_o contentment_n of_o your_o heart_n take_v you_o heed_n of_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o any_o grief_n to_o your_o brethren_n think_v not_o that_o because_o god_n have_v to_o be_v discontent_n when_o we_o be_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o god_n mercy_n when_o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o count_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n yet_o after_o to_o be_v discontent_a because_o we_o have_v not_o all_o we_o will_v have_v this_o be_v a_o great_a evil_n i_o only_o mention_v this_o the_o last_o day_n that_o i_o may_v show_v to_o you_o what_o a_o great_a sin_n it_o be_v at_o such_o a_o time_n as_o this_o the_o lord_n this_o summer_n have_v multiply_v mercy_n one_o upon_o another_o the_o lord_n have_v make_v this_o summer_n to_o be_v a_o continual_a miracle_n of_o mercy_n never_o do_v a_o kingdom_n enjoy_v in_o so_o little_a space_n of_o time_n such_o mercy_n one_o upon_o another_o now_o the_o public_a mercy_n of_o god_n shall_v quiet_v our_o heart_n and_o keep_v we_o from_o discontent_n and_o the_o sin_n of_o discontent_n for_o private_a affliction_n be_v exceed_o aggravate_v by_o the_o consideration_n of_o public_a mercy_n to_o the_o land_n when_o the_o lord_n have_v be_v so_o merciful_a to_o the_o land_n will_v thou_o be_v fret_v and_o murmur_v because_o thou_o have_v not_o in_o thy_o family_n all_o the_o comfort_n that_o thou_o will_v have_v as_o it_o be_v a_o great_a aggravation_n of_o a_o man_n evil_a of_o he_o to_o rejoice_v immoderate_o in_o his_o own_o private_a comfort_n when_o the_o church_n be_v in_o affliction_n when_o the_o public_a suffer_v grievous_a and_o hard_a trouble_n if_o any_o man_n shall_v then_o rejoice_v and_o give_v liberty_n to_o himself_o at_o that_o time_n to_o satisfy_v his_o flesh_n to_o the_o uttermost_a in_o all_o outward_a comfort_n this_o be_v a_o great_a aggravation_n of_o his_o sin_n so_o on_o the_o contrary_a for_o any_o man_n to_o be_v immoderate_o trouble_v for_o any_o private_a affliction_n when_o it_o go_v well_o with_o the_o public_a with_o the_o church_n this_o be_v a_o great_a aggravation_n of_o his_o sin_n it_o may_v be_v when_o the_o church_n of_o god_n be_v low_a and_o it_o go_v worse_o in_o other_o part_n yet_o thou_o do_v abate_v nothing_o of_o the_o comfort_n of_o thy_o flesh_n but_o give_v full_a liberty_n to_o satisfy_v thy_o flesh_n as_o former_o know_v this_o be_v thy_o great_a sin_n so_o on_o the_o other_o side_n when_o we_o have_v receive_v such_o mercy_n in_o public_a we_o shall_v have_v all_o our_o private_a affliction_n swallow_v up_o in_o the_o public_a mercy_n and_o we_o shall_v think_v with_o ourselves_o though_o we_o be_v afflict_v for_o our_o particular_a yet_o bless_a be_v god_n it_o go_v well_o with_o the_o church_n and_o with_o the_o public_a the_o consideration_n of_o that_o shall_v mighty_o quiet_v our_o heart_n in_o all_o our_o private_a discontent_n and_o if_o it_o do_v not_o so_o know_v that_o our_o sin_n be_v much_o increase_v by_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o be_v abroad_o now_o shall_v god_n mercy_n aggravate_v our_o sin_n this_o be_v a_o sad_a thing_n this_o be_v to_o turn_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n to_o be_v our_o misery_n do_v not_o thou_o pray_v to_o god_n for_o these_o mercy_n that_o god_n have_v send_v of_o late_a to_o the_o public_a these_o great_a victory_n that_o god_n have_v give_v do_v not_o thou_o pray_v for_o goodness_n enough_o there_o to_o cure_v thy_o discontentment_n certain_o they_o be_v not_o such_o mercy_n so_o worthy_a to_o be_v pray_v for_o except_o they_o have_v so_o much_o excellency_n in_o they_o as_o to_o countervail_v some_o private_a affliction_n public_a mercy_n be_v the_o aggravation_n of_o private_a discontent_n also_o of_o public_a discontent_n too_o if_o we_o receive_v so_o many_o public_a mercy_n yet_o if_o every_o thing_n go_v not_o in_o the_o public_a according_a as_o we_o desire_v if_o we_o be_v discontent_a at_o that_o it_o will_v exceed_o aggravate_v our_o sin_n god_n may_v say_v what_o shall_v i_o bestow_v such_o mercy_n upon_o a_o people_n and_o yet_o if_o they_o have_v not_o every_o thing_n they_o will_v have_v they_o will_v be_v discontent_a oh_o its_o with_o thy_o affliction_n you_o will_v say_v this_o be_v a_o strange_a way_n for_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n to_o get_v ease_n to_o their_o condition_n when_o they_o be_v burden_v to_o lay_v a_o great_a burden_n upon_o they_o you_o think_v there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n when_o you_o be_v afflict_v but_o to_o be_v jolly_a and_o merry_a and_o get_v into_o company_n oh_o no_o you_o be_v deceive_v your_o burden_n will_v come_v again_o alas_o this_o be_v a_o poor_a way_n to_o get_v his_o spirit_n quiet_v poor_a man_n the_o burden_n will_v be_v upon_o he_o again_o but_o if_o thou_o will_v have_v thy_o burden_n light_n if_o thou_o can_v get_v alone_o and_o examine_v thy_o heart_n for_o thy_o sin_n and_o charge_v thy_o soul_n with_o thy_o sin_n if_o thy_o burden_n be_v in_o thy_o estate_n for_o the_o abuse_n of_o it_o or_o if_o it_o be_v a_o burden_n upon_o thy_o body_n for_o the_o abuse_n of_o thy_o health_n and_o strength_n and_o the_o abuse_n of_o any_o mercy_n that_o now_o the_o lord_n have_v take_v away_o from_o thou_o thou_o have_v not_o honour_v god_n with_o those_o mercy_n that_o thou_o have_v have_v but_o thou_o have_v walk_v wanton_o and_o careless_o and_o so_o fall_v a_o bemoan_v thy_o sin_n before_o the_o lord_n and_o thou_o shall_v quick_o find_v the_o burden_n of_o thy_o affliction_n to_o be_v light_a than_o it_o be_v before_o do_v but_o try_v this_o piece_n of_o skill_n and_o art_n to_o get_v your_o soul_n content_v with_o any_o low_a condition_n that_o god_n put_v you_o into_o many_o time_n in_o a_o family_n when_o any_o affliction_n befall_v they_o o_o what_o a_o deal_n of_o discontentment_n be_v there_o between_o man_n and_o wise_a if_o cross_v in_o their_o estate_n at_o land_n or_o ill_a news_n from_o sea_n or_o those_o that_o they_o trust_v be_v break_v and_o the_o like_a and_o perhaps_o somewhat_o in_o the_o family_n fall_v cross_v between_o man_n and_o wife_n or_o in_o reference_n to_o the_o child_n or_o servant_n and_o there_o be_v nothing_o but_o brabble_v and_o discontent_a among_o they_o now_o they_o many_o time_n be_v burden_v with_o their_o own_o discontent_n and_o perhaps_o will_v say_v one_o to_o another_o this_o life_n be_v very_o uncomfortable_a for_o we_o to_o live_v thus_o discontent_v so_o as_o we_o do_v but_o have_v you_o ever_o try_v this_o way_n the_o husband_n and_o the_o wife_n have_v you_o ever_o get_v alone_o and_o say_v come_v o_o let_v we_o go_v and_o humble_a our_o soul_n before_o god_n together_o let_v we_o go_v into_o our_o chamber_n and_o humble_a our_o soul_n before_o god_n for_o our_o sin_n whereby_o we_o have_v abuse_v those_o mercy_n that_o god_n have_v take_v away_o from_o we_o and_o we_o have_v provoke_v god_n against_o we_o o_o let_v we_o charge_v ourselves_o with_o our_o sin_n and_o be_v humble_v before_o the_o lord_n together_o have_v you_o try_v such_o a_o way_n as_o this_o be_v oh_o you_o will_v find_v the_o cloud_n will_v be_v take_v away_o and_o the_o sun_n will_v shine_v in_o upon_o you_o and_o you_o will_v have_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o contentment_n than_o ever_o yet_o you_o have_v if_o a_o man_n estate_n be_v break_v either_o by_o plunderer_n or_o any_o other_o way_n now_o how_o shall_v this_o man_n have_v contentment_n how_o by_o the_o break_n of_o his_o heart_n god_n have_v break_v thy_o estate_n oh_o seek_v to_o he_o for_o the_o break_n of_o thy_o heart_n likewise_o indeed_o a_o break_a estate_n and_o a_o whole_a heart_n a_o hard_a heart_n will_v not_o join_v together_o there_o will_v be_v no_o contentment_n but_o a_o break_a estate_n and_o a_o break_a heart_n will_v so_o suit_v together_o as_o there_o will_v be_v more_o contentment_n than_o there_o be_v before_o add_v therefore_o to_o the_o break_n of_o thy_o estate_n the_o break_n of_o thy_o heart_n what_o thou_o can_v and_o that_o be_v the_o way_n to_o be_v content_v in_o a_o christian_a manner_n which_o be_v the_o three_o mystery_n in_o christian_a contentation_n the_o four_o thing_n be_v this_o it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o the_o remove_n of_o the_o affliction_n that_o be_v upon_o we_o as_o the_o change_n of_o the_o affliction_n the_o metamorphosing_a of_o the_o affliction_n when_o it_o be_v quite_o turn_v and_o change_v into_o another_o thing_n i_o mean_v in_o regard_n of_o the_o use_n of_o it_o though_o for_o the_o matter_n the_o affliction_n abide_v still_o the_o way_n of_o contentment_n to_o a_o carnal_a heart_n its_o only_a the_o remove_n of_o the_o affliction_n oh_o that_o it_o may_v be_v go_v no_o but_o say_v a_o gracious_a heart_n god_n have_v teach_v i_o a_o way_n for_o contentment_n though_o the_o affliction_n shall_v continue_v still_o for_o the_o matter_n of_o it_o but_o there_o be_v a_o virtue_n of_o grace_n to_o turn_v this_o affliction_n into_o good_a it_o take_v away_o but_o only_o the_o sting_n and_o poison_n of_o it_o as_o now_o suppose_v poverty_n a_o man_n estate_n be_v lose_v well_o be_v there_o no_o way_n to_o be_v content_v till_o your_o estate_n be_v make_v up_o again_o till_o your_o poverty_n be_v remove_v yes_o certain_o christianity_n will_v teach_v contentment_n though_o poverty_n continue_v yet_o it_o will_v teach_v you_o how_o to_o turn_v your_o poverty_n into_o spiritual_a riches_n that_o you_o shall_v be_v poor_a still_o for_o your_o outward_a estate_n but_o this_o shall_v be_v alter_v whereas_o before_o it_o be_v once_o a_o natural_a evil_n to_o you_o it_o come_v now_o to_o be_v turn_v into_o a_o spiritual_a benefit_n to_o you_o and_o so_o you_o come_v to_o be_v content_a it_o be_v a_o speech_n of_o ambrose_n even_o poverty_n itself_o it_o be_v riches_n unto_o holy_a man_n godly_a man_n do_v make_v their_o poverty_n turn_v to_o be_v riches_n they_o get_v more_o riches_n out_o of_o but_o when_o one_o be_v in_o a_o discontent_a condition_n than_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n be_v exceed_o unfit_a for_o the_o service_n of_o god_n and_o it_o cause_v many_o distraction_n in_o duty_n it_o unfit_v for_o duty_n and_o when_o you_o come_v to_o perform_v duty_n oh_o the_o distraction_n that_o be_v in_o your_o duty_n when_o your_o spirit_n be_v discontent_v when_o you_o hear_v of_o any_o ill_a news_n from_o sea_n and_o can_v bear_v it_o or_o of_o any_o ill_n from_o a_o friend_n or_o any_o loss_n or_o cross_n oh_o what_o distraction_n do_v they_o cause_v in_o the_o performance_n of_o holy_a duty_n when_o you_o shall_v be_v enjoy_v communion_n with_o god_n you_o be_v distract_v in_o your_o thought_n about_o the_o cross_n that_o have_v befall_v you_o whereas_o have_v you_o but_o a_o quiet_a spirit_n though_o there_o shall_v great_a cross_n befall_v you_o yet_o they_o will_v never_o hinder_v you_o in_o the_o performance_n of_o any_o duty_n 3._o consider_v what_o wicked_a rise_n of_o heart_n and_o resolution_n of_o spirit_n there_o be_v many_o time_n in_o a_o discontent_a fit_n in_o some_o discontent_a fit_n the_o heart_n rise_v against_o god_n and_o against_o other_o and_o sometime_o have_v even_o desperate_a resolution_n what_o to_o do_v to_o help_v themselves_o if_o the_o lord_n shall_v have_v suffer_v you_o to_o have_v do_v sometime_o in_o a_o discontent_a fit_n what_o you_o have_v think_v to_o do_v what_o wonderful_a misery_n have_v you_o bring_v upon_o yourselves_o oh_o it_o be_v a_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o do_v stop_v you_o have_v not_o god_n stop_v &_o you_o be_v trouble_v for_o the_o want_n of_o it_o but_o the_o very_a trouble_n of_o your_o spirit_n be_v the_o worm_n that_o eat_v out_o the_o blessing_n of_o the_o mercy_n and_o then_o perhaps_o god_n give_v it_o you_o but_o give_v it_o you_o with_o a_o curse_n mix_v with_o it_o that_o you_o be_v better_a not_o have_v it_o than_o have_v it_o that_o man_n or_o woman_n that_o be_v discontent_v for_o want_n of_o some_o good_a thing_n if_o god_n do_v give_v that_o good_a thing_n to_o they_o before_o they_o be_v humble_v for_o their_o discontent_n that_o do_v proceed_v from_o they_o such_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n can_v have_v no_o comfort_n of_o the_o mercy_n but_o it_o will_v be_v rather_o a_o evil_a than_o a_o good_a to_o they_o and_o therefore_o for_o my_o part_n if_o i_o shall_v have_v a_o friend_n or_o brother_n or_o one_o that_o be_v as_o dear_a to_o i_o as_o my_o own_o soul_n that_o i_o shall_v see_v discontent_v for_o the_o want_n of_o such_o a_o comfort_n i_o shall_v rather_o pray_v lord_n keep_v this_o thing_n from_o they_o till_o thou_o will_v be_v please_v to_o humble_v their_o heart_n for_o their_o discontent_n let_v not_o they_o have_v the_o mercy_n till_o they_o come_v to_o be_v humble_v for_o their_o discontent_n for_o the_o want_n of_o it_o for_o if_o they_o have_v it_o before_o that_o time_n they_o will_v have_v it_o without_o any_o blessing_n and_o therefore_o it_o shall_v be_v your_o care_n when_o you_o find_v your_o heart_n discontent_v for_o want_n of_o anything_o to_o be_v humble_v for_o it_o think_v thus_o with_o yourselves_o lord_n if_o life_n one_o observe_v concern_v manna_n when_o the_o people_n be_v content_v with_o their_o allowance_n that_o god_n allow_v they_o than_o it_o be_v very_o good_a but_o when_o they_o will_v not_o be_v content_a with_o god_n allowance_n but_o will_v gather_v more_o than_o god_n will_v have_v they_o then_o say_v the_o text_n there_o be_v worm_n in_o it_o so_o when_o we_o be_v content_a with_o come_v a_o tempest_n and_o storm_n if_o a_o martinet_n when_o a_o tempest_n and_o storm_n come_v shall_v be_v froward_a and_o will_v not_o pull_v down_o his_o sail_n but_o be_v discontent_v with_o
