our_o slothfulness_n show_v the_o hardness_n of_o our_o heart_n and_o where_o this_o foul_a death_n continue_v there_o be_v no_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n the_o second_o thing_n that_o i_o mark_v be_v upon_o the_o end_n of_o this_o verse_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o praise_v god_n thyself_o lesson_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o thank_v he_o in_o thy_o own_o heart_n but_o if_o thou_o be_v a_o true_a member_n of_o the_o church_n thou_o must_v propose_v this_o benefit_n to_o the_o church_n for_o benefit_n be_v not_o give_v as_o particular_a privilege_n to_o particular_a person_n but_o as_o public_a testimony_n of_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n towards_o his_o church_n therefore_o every_o benefit_n shall_v be_v propose_v to_o the_o church_n that_o the_o church_n may_v have_v occasion_n to_o praise_n god_n in_o it_o now_o upon_o this_o three_o verse_n he_o burst_v forth_o into_o that_o notable_a sentence_n which_o we_o have_v in_o the_o four_o verse_n bless_a be_v the_o man_n that_o sight_n of_o evil_a example_n put_v his_o trust_n in_o god_n sure_o these_o few_o in_o number_n that_o depend_v upon_o god_n if_o they_o be_v compare_v with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o world_n of_o all_o man_n of_o the_o earth_n they_o will_v be_v count_v most_o miserable_a and_o unhappy_a and_o as_o the_o apostle_n say_v they_o be_v the_o ofscouring_n and_o sweep_n of_o the_o world_n for_o as_o long_o as_o they_o be_v here_o beneath_o in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o patience_n their_o life_n be_v hide_v with_o christ_n and_o will_v not_o appear_v until_o the_o lord_n appear_v to_o be_v marvelous_a in_o his_o saint_n 2._o thes._n 1._o at_o the_o which_o time_n their_o body_n shall_v shine_v as_o the_o sun_n and_o their_o soul_n shall_v shine_v as_o the_o angel_n in_o hope_n of_o this_o estate_n the_o poor_a member_n of_o the_o church_n repose_v in_o the_o present_a peregrination_n there_o be_v here_o two_o way_n set_v down_o there_o be_v a_o broad_a and_o a_o open_a way_n wherein_o rhe_n pleasant_a and_o bring_v a_o joyful_a eternity_n i_o think_v that_o the_o soiourner_n that_o be_v certain_a of_o a_o good_a lodging_n may_v well_o endure_v the_o difficulty_n of_o the_o way_n and_o therefore_o see_v we_o be_v certain_a of_o our_o lodging_n &_o that_o the_o way_n be_v short_a let_v every_o one_o strive_v to_o enter_v into_o it_o how_o straight_o so_o ever_o it_o be_v the_o end_n be_v large_a the_o lord_n of_o his_o mercy_n work_n in_o every_o one_o of_o we_o that_o we_o may_v both_o know_v the_o way_n and_o walk_v in_o it_o till_o our_o life_n end_n servant_n the_o last_o thing_n that_o i_o mark_v upon_o this_o experience_n you_o see_v two_o end_n why_o the_o lord_n delay_v to_o help_v his_o servant_n the_o first_o and_o special_a end_n be_v that_o he_o may_v be_v the_o more_o glorify_v the_o more_o that_o he_o differ_v the_o second_o end_n be_v that_o these_o hasty_a man_n that_o will_v not_o abide_v the_o leisure_n of_o the_o lord_n may_v see_v themselves_o disappoint_v when_o they_o see_v the_o servant_n of_o the_o the_o lord_n so_o mighty_o deliver_v for_o there_o be_v not_o one_o among_o a_o thousand_o that_o in_o patience_n will_v wait_v upon_o the_o deliverance_n of_o the_o lord_n but_o run_v to_o this_o or_o those_o mean_n unto_o unlawful_a mean_n and_o ever_o seek_v help_n for_o the_o present_a haste_n although_o it_o be_v with_o the_o hurt_n of_o conscience_n and_o these_o unlawful_a sort_n of_o delivery_n bring_v ever_o shame_n
image_n which_o we_o lose_v nor_o to_o leave_v we_o in_o this_o earth_n but_o it_o please_v he_o to_o give_v we_o a_o better_a image_n and_o beside_o that_o to_o place_v we_o in_o heaven_n there_o to_o remain_v with_o he_o for_o ever_o now_o rest_v his_o mercy_n and_o grace_n here_o no_o but_o that_o this_o salvation_n which_o he_o have_v already_o purchase_v &_o bring_v about_o by_o his_o son_n our_o saviour_n christ_n jesus_n may_v be_v whole_o accomplish_v have_v nothing_o want_v in_o it_o as_o he_o redeem_v we_o in_o his_o own_o person_n perfect_o so_o he_o make_v this_o same_o redemption_n to_o come_v to_o our_o knowledge_n &_o make_v we_o sure_a of_o it_o in_o our_o conscience_n and_o to_o this_o end_n what_o do_v he_o as_o by_o his_o death_n he_o purchase_v our_o full_a redemption_n so_o he_o make_v it_o know_v unto_o we_o he_o intimate_v it_o unto_o we_o by_o our_o inward_a call_n let_v we_o both_o find_v and_o feel_v in_o our_o heart_n what_o he_o do_v in_o his_o body_n for_o us._n for_o our_o lord_n when_o he_o make_v his_o servant_n to_o proclaim_v this_o redemption_n and_o to_o intimate_v it_o to_o our_o conscience_n he_o work_v this_o jewel_n of_o faith_n in_o our_o soul_n which_o assure_v we_o that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n have_v die_v for_o us._n for_o what_o can_v it_o avail_v we_o to_o see_v our_o redemption_n to_o see_v our_o salvation_n and_o our_o life_n a_o far_o off_o if_o a_o way_n be_v not_o find_v out_o and_o a_o hand_n and_o mean_n give_v unto_o we_o whereby_o we_o may_v apprehend_v that_o salvation_n &_o apply_v it_o to_o ourselves_o what_o can_v it_o avail_v a_o sick_a man_n to_o see_v a_o drug_n in_o a_o apothecary_n shop_n except_o he_o may_v have_v it_o and_o apply_v it_o to_o his_o sick_a body_n so_o to_o the_o end_n that_o this_o work_n of_o our_o redemption_n and_o salvation_n may_v be_v full_o and_o free_o accomplish_v look_v how_o free_o he_o have_v give_v his_o only_a son_n to_o the_o death_n of_o the_o make_v all_o thy_o action_n well_o please_v unto_o he_o there_o be_v no_o good_a action_n that_o we_o do_v though_o it_o seem_v never_o so_o good_a before_o the_o world_n but_o it_o be_v abomination_n before_o god_n if_o it_o be_v not_o do_v in_o faith_n and_o will_v further_o our_o condemnation_n have_v faith_n all_o the_o creature_n of_o god_n be_v serviceable_a unto_o we_o they_o must_v all_o conspire_v to_o the_o furtherance_n of_o the_o work_n of_o our_o salvation_n as_o on_o the_o contrary_a want_v faith_n there_o be_v none_o of_o the_o creature_n of_o god_n but_o shall_v be_v enemy_n but_o a_o curse_n upon_o our_o own_o person_n and_o therefore_o my_o exhortation_n be_v now_o as_o then_o that_o with_o such_o heart_n as_o the_o lord_n have_v give_v we_o we_o be_v ready_a to_o sound_v his_o praise_n for_o this_o great_a delivery_n the_o thankful_a memory_n of_o this_o last_o benefit_n shall_v be_v the_o ready_a way_n to_o purchase_v the_o next_o therefore_o with_o
