must_v the_o foundation_n be_v lay_v in_o the_o earth_n as_o we_o see_v in_o moses_n but_o especial_o in_o paul_n and_o david_n the_o one_o be_v sore_o though_o sudden_o humble_v the_o other_o long_o try_v and_o humble_v before_o he_o come_v to_o be_v king_n so_o s._n austen_n confess_v that_o whereas_o his_o friend_n alipius_n receive_v his_o new-birth_n with_o little_a or_o not_o struggle_v he_o himself_o find_v no_o quietness_n and_o victory_n but_o after_o great_a terror_n and_o conflict_n and_o so_o no_o doubt_n other_o find_v it_o now_o there_o may_v be_v good_a reason_n for_o it_o see_v great_a sorrow_n and_o to_o live_v comfortable_o and_o cheerful_o in_o that_o condition_n of_o a_o renew_a and_o regenerate_a estate_n which_o be_v not_o necessary_o a_o dumpish_a melancholic_a sorrowful_a life_n devoid_a of_o pleasure_n content_a and_o comfort_n nor_o give_v the_o convert_v who_o suffer_v and_o undergo_v such_o extreme_a terror_n and_o sorrow_n at_o first_o occasion_n by_o satan_n suggestion_n and_o the_o flattery_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n to_o think_v that_o there_o be_v matter_n of_o satisfaction_n or_o merit_n in_o their_o suffering_n whether_o of_o congruity_n or_o otherwise_o as_o if_o thus_o avenge_a themselves_o of_o their_o sin_n by_o contrition_n and_o exercise_n of_o mortification_n and_o deep_a humiliation_n they_o do_v either_o prepare_v themselves_o for_o grace_n so_o encroach_a on_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n &_o of_o christ_n or_o otherwise_o as_o the_o popish_a sort_n speak_v drey_v their_o penance_n and_o make_v as_o of_o themselves_o some_o satisfaction_n to_o god_n justice_n which_o shall_v also_o much_o derogate_v from_o the_o free_a mercy_n of_o god_n and_o merit_n of_o christ_n but_o now_o when_o they_o see_v that_o other_o share_v in_o the_o like_a benefit_n and_o partake_v equal_o with_o they_o of_o the_o blessing_n and_o that_o without_o such_o extremity_n smart_n and_o sorrow_n sorrow_n when_o they_o see_v other_o partake_v of_o equal_a mercy_n with_o less_o sorrow_n they_o as_o we_o all_o observe_v this_o different_a deal_n of_o god_n with_o sinner_n can_v but_o ascribe_v the_o whole_a work_n of_o their_o and_o our_o conversion_n whole_o and_o altogether_o to_o god_n mercy_n and_o to_o the_o power_n and_o freeness_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o nothing_o at_o all_o to_o any_o merit_n congruity_n or_o worthiness_n in_o ourselves_o as_o this_o now_o say_v have_v show_v we_o the_o reason_n of_o god_n different_a deal_n with_o man_n in_o their_o conversion_n in_o regard_n of_o the_o
