abridge_v you_o of_o some_o thing_n which_o i_o be_o willing_a to_o open_v unto_o you_o wherefore_o omit_v all_o these_o 5._o verse_n 5._o know_v you_o that_o the_o author_n of_o this_o epistle_n have_v in_o the_o former_a part_n of_o this_o chapter_n encourage_v they_o patient_o to_o undergo_v the_o cross_n of_o affliction_n assure_v they_o that_o they_o be_v no_o sign_n of_o god_n anger_n 6._o verse_n 6._o but_o rather_o
lord_n of_o host_n give_v they_o to_o understand_v that_o see_v they_o set_v so_o light_a by_o the_o admonition_n of_o the_o prophet_n there_o shall_v be_v leave_v they_o no_o time_n to_o repent_v in_o till_o he_o have_v destroy_v they_o but_o of_o all_o the_o place_n of_o scripture_n for_o this_o purpose_n let_v we_o see_v what_o the_o lord_n say_v to_o jerusalem_n by_o his_o prophet_n ezechiel_n because_o say_v he_o i_o will_v have_v purge_v thou_o and_o thou_o be_v not_o purge_v thou_o shall_v not_o be_v purge_v till_o i_o have_v cause_v my_o wrath_n to_o light_v upon_o thou_o mark_v this_o place_n well_o which_o may_v terrify_v our_o heart_n if_o we_o carry_v not_o the_o heart_n of_o tiger_n in_o which_o the_o lord_n testify_v not_o only_o to_o they_o but_o to_o we_o that_o when_o by_o all_o kind_a mean_n and_o love_a allurement_n he_o offer_v his_o favour_n and_o we_o obstinate_o refuse_v let_v we_o be_v sure_a of_o it_o when_o we_o will_v have_v mercy_n and_o favour_n from_o he_o though_o we_o beg_v it_o cry_n howl_v he_o will_v deny_v it_o us._n oh_o that_o the_o lamentable_a spectacle_n of_o some_o may_v be_v warning_n to_o we_o who_o in_o their_o life_n time_n have_v hear_v the_o lord_n by_o his_o minister_n call_v to_o they_o and_o entreat_v they_o to_o leave_v their_o sin_n chide_v they_o threaten_v they_o but_o all_o in_o vain_a they_o have_v stop_v their_o ear_n and_o harden_v their_o heart_n but_o be_v come_v to_o their_o bed_n of_o death_n and_o the_o time_n come_v they_o must_v depart_v this_o life_n i_o fear_v to_o a_o worse_o they_o have_v cry_v houl_v yea_o knock_v and_o beat_v their_o head_n to_o the_o bedpost_n myself_o be_v witness_n yet_o can_v not_o show_v any_o sign_n of_o receive_v one_o drop_n of_o comfort_n from_o the_o lord_n and_o have_v be_v exhort_v to_o pray_v and_o call_v on_o the_o lord_n for_o mercy_n can_v not_o say_v so_o much_o as_o the_o lord_n have_v mercy_n upon_o i_o and_o what_o know_v we_o what_o our_o estate_n shall_v be_v if_o we_o wear_v out_o the_o time_n of_o mercy_n there_o be_v a_o time_n set_v we_o in_o which_o we_o may_v repent_v but_o be_v despise_v and_o outrun_v there_o be_v after_o no_o hour_n to_o obtain_v mercy_n and_o the_o reason_n hereof_o be_v special_o three_o reas_n 1_o the_o first_o take_v from_o god_n who_o because_o it_o proceed_v from_o his_o love_n to_o offer_v mercy_n it_o must_v needs_o stand_v with_o his_o justice_n to_o punish_v the_o wilful_a contempt_n of_o it_o with_o a_o perpetual_a denial_n of_o mercy_n reas_n 2_o the_o second_o from_o
