subordinate_a and_o in_o subjection_n to_o they_o when_o god_n say_v here_o that_o he_o will_v cut_v off_o from_o israel_n head_n and_o tail_n he_o threaten_v in_o case_n of_o their_o impenitency_n 16.31_o therefore_o the_o lord_n have_v so_o much_o respect_n for_o such_o person_n as_o he_o give_v a_o commandment_n in_o particular_a about_o they_o levit._n 19.32_o thou_o shall_v rise_v up_o before_o the_o hoary_a head_n and_o honour_v the_o face_n of_o the_o old_a man_n but_o yet_o age_n where_o it_o shall_v degenerate_v into_o wickedness_n it_o become_v obnoxious_a to_o judgement_n be_v young_a also_o god_n threaten_v to_o cut_v off_o this_o likewise_o those_o which_o be_v young_a there_o be_v somewhat_o in_o they_o invite_v to_o tenderness_n and_o compassion_n from_o the_o tenderness_n of_o their_o condition_n as_o also_o from_o the_o hopefulness_n of_o succession_n such_o as_o these_o may_v continue_v in_o the_o world_n when_o other_o have_v leave_v it_o and_o be_v in_o their_o grave_n yea_o but_o if_o these_o grow_v naught_o and_o wicked_a and_o loose_a and_o licentious_a and_o incorrigible_a there_o be_v no_o hope_n for_o they_o neither_o that_o they_o shall_v such_o as_o these_o also_o in_o case_n of_o impenitency_n in_o either_o head_n or_o tail_n first_o the_o rich_a he_o will_v deal_v with_o they_o and_o their_o wealth_n shall_v not_o secure_v they_o have_v the_o care_n and_o government_n of_o youth_n commit_v unto_o they_o and_o be_v in_o special_a manner_n entrust_v with_o they_o as_o parent_n and_o tutor_n and_o governor_n and_o master_n etc._n etc._n to_o have_v a_o more_o watchful_a eye_n upon_o they_o and_o care_n of_o they_o and_o that_o still_o not_o only_o in_o reference_n to_o the_o condition_n at_o present_a but_o to_o that_o also_o which_o be_v to_o come_v hereafter_o that_o while_o their_o young_a year_n be_v regulate_v by_o you_o their_o elder_a year_n may_v bless_v god_n for_o you_o which_o in_o such_o case_n they_o will_v in_o the_o effect_n to_o be_v destructive_a of_o that_o very_a thing_n which_o it_o seem_v to_o import_v while_o instead_o of_o praise_v of_o god_n man_n do_v rather_o sin_n against_o he_o and_o take_v occasion_n to_o do_v so_o from_o their_o seem_a praise_v of_o he_o by_o the_o abuse_n of_o some_o thing_n which_o in_o their_o own_o nature_n be_v lawful_a and_o warrantable_a now_o because_o and_o feast_v and_o banquet_v with_o one_o another_o he_o be_v a_o little_a suspicious_a of_o they_o and_o anxious_a and_o solicitous_a for_o they_o upon_o this_o occasion_n lest_o their_o heart_n in_o the_o mean_a time_n shall_v not_o be_v right_a and_o well_o dispose_v to_o god_n for_o job_n say_v it_o may_v be_v that_o my_o son_n have_v sin_v and_o have_v curse_a god_n in_o etc._n etc._n heart_n be_v trouble_v about_o other_o man_n miscarriage_n as_o well_o as_o his_o own_o one_o will_v have_v think_v as_o long_o as_o job_n be_v innocent_a for_o his_o own_o particular_a he_o need_v not_o have_v trouble_v himself_o for_o any_o body_n else_o if_o they_o have_v sin_v what_o be_v that_o to_o he_o and_o how_o can_v he_o help_v that_o well_o but_o he_o be_v careful_a and_o solicitous_a about_o it_o notwithstanding_o this_o be_v the_o sweet_a temper_n and_o disposition_n of_o a_o godly_a man_n to_o account_v himself_o interest_v in_o the_o sin_n and_o delinquency_n of_o other_o and_o according_o to_o behave_v himself_o towards_o they_o

and_o usual_a signification_n it_o may_v be_v that_o my_o son_n have_v sin_v and_o have_v bless_v god_n in_o their_o heart_n this_o at_o the_o first_o hear_n seem_v to_o be_v somewhat_o incongruous_a forasmuch_o as_o to_o bless_v god_n have_v no_o matter_n of_o sinfullness_n in_o it_o which_o yet_o here_o be_v suspect_v by_o job_n at_o this_o time_n concern_v his_o child_n in_o the_o conjunction_n of_o these_o two_o word_n both_o together_o but_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o if_o we_o shall_v well_o weigh_v the_o word_n there_o will_v be_v no_o incongruity_n notwithstanding_o and_o that_o as_o i_o conceive_v according_a to_o a_o threefold_a exposition_n which_o may_v be_v fasten_v upon_o they_o and_o that_o thus_o 1._o it_o may_v be_v my_o son_n have_v sin_v and_o bless_a god_n in_o their_o together_o with_o they_o thus_o isa_n 29.13_o 14._o this_o people_n draw_v near_o to_o i_o with_o their_o mouth_n and_o with_o their_o lip_n they_o do_v honour_n i_o etc._n etc._n but_o their_o heart_n be_v far_o from_o i_o etc._n etc._n and_o so_o hos_fw-la 7.14_o they_o have_v not_o cry_v unto_o i_o with_o their_o heart_n etc._n etc._n this_o be_v usual_a and_o ordinary_a and_o it_o do_v distinguish_v they_o first_o sin_z as_o we_o call_v they_o quotidianae_fw-la incursionis_fw-la of_o daily_a and_o frequent_a incursion_n which_o whilst_o we_o remain_v here_o in_o the_o flesh_n be_v have_v be_v other_o way_n of_o deprive_v he_o of_o the_o mercy_n beside_o this_o but_o the_o lord_n will_v have_v this_o to_o do_v it_o as_o the_o sure_a and_o most_o remarkable_a god_n will_v have_v he_o to_o live_v no_o long_o then_o mere_o to_o be_v confute_v and_o self-condemned_n of_o his_o own_o incredulity_n when_o he_o have_v once_o see_v what_o he_o do_v not_o believe_v he_o shall_v no_o long_o live_v to_o enjoy_v what_o he_o have_v see_v the_o sum_n of_o all_o come_v to_o this_o even_o to_o frigh_n we_o still_o from_o these_o unhappy_a distemper_n of_o dispair_n and_o unbelief_n there_o be_v too_o frequent_o a_o question_n of_o god_n power_n and_o truth_n both_o together_o then_o if_o the_o lord_n will_v make_v window_n in_o heaven_n yet_o this_o thing_n can_v not_o be_v we_o can_v believe_v god_n it_o may_v be_v in_o easy_a matter_n but_o we_o can_v believe_v he_o in_o difficult_a believe_v he_o in_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v obvious_a and_o open_a to_o every_o eye_n but_o not_o believe_v he_o in_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v more_o obscure_a and_o remote_a and_o put_v out_o of_o sight_n whereas_o his_o power_n do_v reach_v even_o to_o these_o as_o well_o as_o the_o other_o and_o so_o likewise_o shall_v our_o faith_n the_o rather_o because_o of_o the_o danger_n which_o follow_v upon_o unbelief_n as_o we_o have_v now_o see_v in_o this_o instance_n before_o restrain_v for_o that_o despair_n and_o so_o you_o have_v also_o the_o peremptory_a answer_n which_o be_v give_v to_o the_o presumptuous_a question_n behold_v thou_o shall_v see_v it_o with_o thy_o and_o disconsolate_a estate_n both_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o desertion_n of_o god_n and_o likewise_o of_o the_o opposition_n and_o report_n of_o cruel_a enemy_n do_v here_o do_v all_o he_o can_v to_o will_v not_o only_o be_v humble_v for_o those_o sin_n which_o he_o have_v commit_v late_o but_o for_o those_o sin_n which_o he_o have_v commit_v former_o for_o the_o vanity_n of_o his_o childhood_n and_o for_o the_o refractoriness_n of_o his_o nonage_n and_o for_o the_o sin_n of_o his_o youth_n even_o so_o he_o which_o be_v a_o true_a thankful_a person_n he_o will_v not_o only_o acknowledge_v those_o mercy_n which_o he_o have_v receive_v but_o late_o but_o as_o well_o those_o mercy_n which_o he_o have_v receive_v many_o year_n past_a and_o david_n which_o do_v the_o one_o he_o do_v also_o the_o other_o and_o both_o as_o we_o may_v see_v in_o one_o place_n together_o psal_n 25.6.7_o remember_v o_o lord_n thy_o tender_a mercy_n and_o thy_o lovingkindness_n for_o they_o have_v be_v ever_o first_o a_o precedency_n of_o order_n and_o second_o a_o advantage_n of_o derivation_n they_o have_v the_o right_a of_o primo-giniture_a and_o they_o have_v the_o right_a also_o of_o conveyance_n be_v first_o themselves_o and_o cause_v other_o also_o to_o come_v after_o this_o mercy_n of_o come_v out_o of_o the_o womb_n it_o open_v the_o womb_n of_o god_n mercy_n as_o i_o may_v so_o express_v it_o and_o have_v the_o dignity_n of_o the_o first_o bear_v among_o many_o brethren_n and_o therefore_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o to_o be_v acknowledge_v and_o record_v by_o we_o as_o we_o shall_v themselves_o as_o david_n here_o though_o he_o be_v a_o man_n of_o sorrow_n in_o sundry_a particular_n of_o his_o life_n yet_o he_o acknowledge_v that_o god_n be_v his_o god_n all_o his_o life-time_n notwithstanding_o that_o there_o be_v a_o great_a piece_n of_o thankfulness_n which_o be_v due_a from_o we_o even_o for_o the_o worst_a and_o cross_a of_o providence_n which_o happen_v unto_o we_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o god_n do_v oftentimes_o bring_v great_a good_a out_o of_o evil_a and_o sanctify_v affliction_n to_o such_o a_o purpose_n as_o to_o make_v we_o so_o much_o the_o better_a for_o covenant_n and_o his_o testimony_n as_o it_o be_v in_o psal_n 25.10_o thus_o david_n not_o only_o here_o in_o this_o scripture_n but_o also_o in_o other_o place_n as_o psal_n 68.19_o bless_a be_v the_o lord_n who_o load_v we_o daily_o with_o benefit_n etc._n etc._n and_o psal_n 48.14_o this_o god_n be_v our_o god_n for_o ever_o and_o ever_o he_o will_v be_v our_o guide_n even_o unto_o death_n our_o god_n for_o ever_o and_o ever_o and_o our_o guide_n even_o to_o death_n itself_o he_o take_v notice_n of_o god_n goodness_n all_o along_o and_o thus_o have_v we_o here_o see_v the_o acknowledgement_n which_o david_n here_o make_v in_o the_o general_n notion_n and_o representation_n of_o it_o he_o take_v notice_n of_o common_a mercy_n he_o take_v notice_n of_o ancient_a mercy_n he_o take_v notice_n of_o primitive_a mercy_n he_o take_v notice_n of_o constant_a mercy_n the_o second_o view_n of_o it_o be_v the_o specification_n of_o the_o several_a particular_n as_o they_o be_v
