that_o this_o doctrine_n hold_v forth_o a_o distinguish_a love_n that_o when_o there_o be_v no_o difference_n in_o the_o creature_n and_o one_o not_o better_a then_o another_o and_o yet_o that_o god_n shall_v take_v those_o and_o choose_v those_o that_o be_v as_o bad_a as_o those_o that_o be_v leave_v oh_o this_o distinguish_a love_n it_o be_v very_o sweet_a and_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o refreshment_n five_o comfort_n this_o doctrine_n hold_v forth_o a_o ground_n of_o joy_n there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o true_a ground_a joy_n last_a joy_n that_o may_v arise_v and_o do_v arise_v unto_o the_o people_n of_o god_n from_o the_o knowledge_n of_o this_o that_o god_n have_v choose_v they_o and_o love_v they_o from_o eternity_n with_o a_o everlasting_a love_n it_o do_v administer_v the_o best_a ground_n of_o comfort_n that_o can_v be_v find_v in_o all_o the_o world_n see_v that_o place_n luke_n 10._o 20._o but_o rather_o rejoice_v because_o your_o name_n be_v write_v in_o heaven_n the_o knowledge_n of_o this_o special_a love_n that_o god_n have_v write_v the_o name_n of_o poor_a creature_n in_o heaven_n it_o be_v a_o ground_n of_o unspeakable_a joy_n rejoice_v not_o that_o the_o unclean_a spirit_n be_v subject_a to_o you_o why_o they_o may_v rejoice_v more_o in_o that_o then_o in_o any_o outward_a mercy_n whatsoever_o that_o the_o unclean_a spirit_n be_v subject_a to_o they_o for_o it_o be_v more_o than_o if_o all_o the_o man_n of_o the_o world_n be_v subject_a to_o they_o ah_o but_o yet_o in_o this_o rejoice_v not_o rejoice_v not_o so_o much_o in_o this_o for_o here_o be_v a_o more_o last_a ground_n for_o your_o joy_n that_o your_o name_n be_v write_v in_o heaven_n it_o will_v afford_v such_o joy_n and_o will_v kindle_v such_o a_o flame_n of_o joy_n as_o all_o the_o water_n of_o affliction_n can_v quench_v when_o a_o soul_n come_v to_o know_v this_o and_o can_v make_v out_o this_o that_o his_o name_n be_v write_v in_o heaven_n a_o soul_n may_v then_o rejoice_v in_o every_o condition_n rejoice_v in_o tribulation_n rejoice_v in_o persecution_n rejoice_v in_o poverty_n and_o distress_n yea_o though_o they_o may_v loose_v all_o the_o comfort_n of_o life_n yet_o when_o god_n reveal_v to_o they_o that_o their_o name_n be_v write_v in_o heaven_n they_o may_v rejoice_v for_o they_o have_v a_o portion_n that_o can_v never_o be_v lose_v a_o inheritance_n that_o can_v never_o be_v take_v away_o from_o they_o though_o they_o meet_v with_o never_o so_o much_o scorn_v and_o reproach_n from_o the_o world_n though_o man_n shall_v cast_v out_o their_o name_n as_o vile_a yet_o if_o their_o name_n be_v write_v in_o heaven_n they_o may_v rejoice_v for_o their_o name_n be_v precious_a before_o god_n when_o vice_n before_o man_n and_o it_o be_v write_v there_o where_o it_o can_v never_o be_v blot_v out_o so_o that_o it_o do_v administer_v matter_n of_o sound_n and_o solid_a joy_n such_o joy_n as_o will_v hold_v out_o and_o can_v be_v quench_v with_o many_o water_n six_o comfort_n another_o ground_n of_o comfort_n that_o do_v arise_v from_o the_o knowledge_n of_o our_o election_n be_v this_o that_o we_o have_v and_o shall_v enjoy_v that_o great_a privilege_n and_o benefit_n of_o the_o ministry_n and_o service_n of_o the_o holy_a angel_n when_o god_n come_v to_o make_v out_o his_o love_n to_o the_o soul_n why_o it_o may_v conclude_v that_o the_o lord_n have_v give_v his_o angel_n charge_v over_o they_o that_o the_o angel_n shall_v defend_v and_o the_o angel_n shall_v protect_v and_o the_o angel_n shall_v deliver_v from_o many_o danger_n see_v what_o the_o apostle_n say_v in_o heb._n 1._o 14._o speak_v of_o the_o angel_n be_v they_o not_o all_o minister_a spirit_n send_v forth_o to_o minister_v for_o they_o who_o shall_v be_v heir_n of_o salvation_n they_o that_o be_v choose_v by_o god_n to_o a_o inheritance_n reserve_v in_o heaven_n they_o have_v the_o ministry_n of_o all_o the_o holy_a angel_n while_o on_o earth_n though_o we_o see_v it_o not_o with_o this_o bodily_a eye_n though_o we_o see_v not_o the_o angel_n how_o they_o ascend_v and_o descend_v how_o they_o go_v to_o heaven_n and_o come_v from_o heaven_n yet_o it_o be_v matter_n of_o faith_n the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n have_v say_v they_o be_v all_o minister_a spirit_n for_o the_o good_a of_o the_o saint_n many_o a_o kindness_n the_o angel_n do_v we_o and_o we_o be_v keep_v from_o many_o a_o danger_n by_o the_o angel_n he_o shall_v give_v his_o angel_n charge_n and_o they_o shall_v bear_v thou_o up_o that_o thou_o dash_v not_o thy_o foot_n against_o a_o stone_n that_o be_v another_o ground_n of_o sweet_a comfort_n seven_o comfort_n it_o do_v administer_v this_o ground_n of_o comfort_n that_o all_o that_o god_n people_n do_v meet_v withal_o â—here_o in_o the_o world_n shall_v work_v for_o their_o good_a god_n will_v make_v a_o advantage_n of_o whatsoever_o his_o people_n do_v meet_v withal_o see_v what_o the_o apostle_n say_v in_o rom._n 8._o 28._o and_o we_o know_v that_o all_o thing_n work_v together_o for_o good_a to_o they_o that_o love_n god_n to_o they_o who_o be_v the_o call_v according_a to_o his_o purpose_n all_o thing_n shall_v work_v together_o for_o good_a to_o those_o who_o be_v call_v according_a to_o his_o purpose_n according_a to_o that_o ancient_a love_n in_o the_o bosom_n of_o because_o it_o be_v hard_o to_o make_v impression_n upon_o young_a man_n they_o be_v very_o apt_a to_o put_v the_o evil_a day_n far_o from_o they_o and_o to_o put_v the_o good_a day_n far_o from_o they_o too_o the_o day_n of_o conversion_n and_o return_v to_o god_n be_v the_o first_o of_o all_o good_a day_n the_o daybreak_n of_o eternity_n he_o therefore_o double_v his_o exhortation_n to_o they_o and_o he_o begin_v in_o chap._n 11._o verse_n 9_o there_o he_o give_v one_o warn_v piece_n to_o young_a man_n rejoice_v o_o young_a man_n in_o thy_o youth_n and_o let_v thy_o heart_n cheer_v thou_o in_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o youth_n and_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o thy_o heart_n and_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o thy_o eye_n but_o know_v thou_o that_o for_o all_o these_o thing_n god_n will_v bring_v thou_o into_o judgement_n youth_n be_v very_o sinful_a and_o it_o be_v very_o hard_a for_o young_a man_n to_o bear_v reproof_n that_o solomon_n speak_v in_o a_o ironical_a way_n that_o it_o may_v make_v impression_n upon_o their_o heart_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v give_v they_o leave_v 〈◊〉_d do_v what_o they_o will_v let_v thy_o heart_n cheer_v thou_o in_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o youth_n and_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o thy_o heart_n and_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o thy_o eye_n take_v youâ—_n pleasure_n and_o run_v after_o vanity_n and_o scorn_v reproof_n and_o satisfy_v your_o lust_n as_o much_o as_o you_o will_v do_v say_v he_o but_o take_v this_o also_o with_o you_o know_v that_o for_o all_o these_o thing_n god_n will_v bring_v thou_o to_o judgement_n but_o how_o shall_v a_o young_a man_n be_v deliver_v from_o his_o folly_n folly_n what_o remedy_n be_v there_o against_o this_o evil_n in_o youth_n by_o what_o mean_n may_v a_o young_a man_n be_v cleanse_v he_o set_v down_o a_o remedy_n in_o the_o text_n remember_v thy_o creator_n if_o thou_o will_v be_v turn_v from_o sinful_a vanity_n in_o thy_o youth_n remember_v god_n in_o thy_o youth_n and_o he_o press_v the_o exhortation_n with_o many_o argument_n remember_v now_o thy_o creator_n in_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o youth_n remember_v he_o so_o i_o will_v say_v the_o young_a man_n i_o have_v health_n and_o strength_n and_o time_n beforehand_o i_o be_o but_o in_o the_o begin_n of_o my_o youth_n and_o i_o may_v remember_v my_o creator_n though_o i_o do_v it_o hereafter_o o_o take_v heed_n young_a man_n say_v he_o remember_v now_o thy_o creator_n take_v heed_n of_o delay_v take_v heed_n of_o put_v it_o off_o till_o another_o time_n do_v it_o now_o the_o future_a time_n be_v not_o in_o thy_o power_n thou_o know_v not_o what_o to_o morrow_n will_v bring_v forth_o and_o therefore_o if_o thou_o will_v remember_v god_n do_v it_o now_o and_o good_a reason_n that_o thou_o shall_v do_v it_o now_o for_o he_o be_v thy_o creator_n thy_o be_v and_o thy_o soul_n be_v from_o he_o thy_o life_n be_v from_o he_o and_o thy_o comfort_n be_v from_o he_o he_o be_v thy_o creator_n therefore_o remember_v he_o now_o and_o he_o press_v this_o duty_n by_o the_o advantage_n which_o a_o man_n may_v have_v in_o youth_n of_o seek_v after_o god_n and_o the_o disadvantage_n that_o will_v come_v by_o put_v off_o seek_v after_o god_n in_o early_a year_n there_o be_v evil_a day_n a_o come_v say_v he_o and_o therefore_o remember_v now_o thy_o creator_n before_o the_o evil_a day_n come_v there_o be_v the_o evil_a day_n of_o old_a age_n a_o come_n and_o that_o solomon_n describe_v by_o a_o excellent_a allegory_n or_o metaphor_n from_o vers_fw-la 2._o to_o ver_fw-la 7._o in_o verse_n 2._o he_o set_v forth_o the_o evil_a day_n of_o old_a age_n while_o the_o sun_n or_o the_o light_n or_o the_o moon_n or_o the_o star_n be_v not_o darken_v nor_o the_o cloud_n return_v after_o the_o rain_n the_o sun_n and_o the_o moon_n and_o the_o star_n will_v be_v darken_v say_v he_o that_o be_v all_o the_o power_n the_o faculty_n of_o thy_o soul_n thy_o understanding_n thy_o affection_n thy_o internal_a and_o external_a sense_n thy_o memory_n thy_o hear_n and_o thy_o see_v and_o all_o other_o help_n which_o he_o call_v the_o sun_n moon_n star_n and_o light_n they_o will_v be_v darken_v there_o will_v be_v a_o decay_n in_o all_o the_o faculty_n of_o nature_n the_o cloud_n return_v after_o the_o rain_n the_o body_n will_v be_v full_a of_o infirmity_n a_o cloudy_a day_n it_o will_v be_v the_o cloud_n return_v after_o the_o rain_n after_o the_o day_n when_o it_o have_v rain_v insomuch_o as_o you_o think_v it_o will_v rain_v no_o more_o the_o cloud_n return_v again_o and_o so_o in_o old_a age_n the_o cloud_n will_v return_v again_o and_o again_o upon_o thou_o there_o be_v a_o cloudy_a day_n a_o come_n and_o a_o dark_a day_n in_o old_a age_n when_o thou_o can_v not_o see_v to_o do_v thy_o work_n and_o therefore_o now_o remember_v thy_o creator_n and_o there_o be_v another_o evil_a day_n that_o he_o speak_v of_o in_o verse_n 7._o and_o that_o be_v the_o day_n of_o death_n then_o shalâ—_n the_o dust_n return_n to_o the_o earth_n as_o it_o be_v and_o the_o spirit_n shall_v return_v unto_o god_n who_o give_v it_o therefore_o consider_v all_o this_o i_o counsel_v thou_o to_o remember_v thy_o creator_n in_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o youth_n the_o proposition_n or_o doctrine_n than_o be_v this_o that_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o all_o the_o child_n of_o man_n doctr._n to_o eight_o year_n of_o his_o reign_n while_o he_o be_v yet_o young_a he_o begin_v to_o seek_v after_o the_o god_n of_o david_n his_o father_n he_o be_v but_o sixteen_o year_n old_a and_o yet_o then_o do_v he_o seek_v after_o the_o god_n of_o david_n his_o father_n and_o david_n he_o tell_v we_o he_o trust_v in_o god_n from_o his_o youth_n psal_n 71._o 5._o for_o thou_o be_v my_o hope_n o_o lord_n god_n thou_o be_v my_o trust_n from_o my_o youth_n and_o o_o that_o young_a man_n will_v look_v upon_o these_o pattern_n wherefore_o do_v god_n take_v notice_n of_o they_o and_o wherefore_o be_v do_v the_o saint_n do_v good_a work_n ignorant_o do_v good_a and_o do_v not_o know_v no_o that_o which_o be_v do_v out_o of_o ignorance_n be_v sinful_a no_o they_o know_v what_o they_o do_v and_o that_o they_o do_v but_o according_a to_o the_o mind_n of_o christ_n ah_o but_o when_o do_v they_o take_v no_o notice_n of_o it_o their_o right_a hand_n shall_v not_o know_v what_o their_o left_a hand_n do_v for_o they_o dare_v not_o plead_v their_o service_n and_o their_o duty_n upon_o this_o account_n for_o they_o know_v whatever_o be_v good_a be_v not_o they_o but_o christ_n whatever_o in_o they_o that_o be_v good_a and_o whatever_o good_a they_o have_v do_v be_v by_o the_o lord_n spirit_n and_o therefore_o they_o know_v there_o be_v nothing_o for_o they_o to_o plead_v by_o way_n of_o merit_n no_o the_o more_o they_o be_v enable_v and_o assist_v to_o do_v for_o christ_n the_o more_o they_o be_v engage_v unto_o christ_n christ_n be_v not_o engage_v to_o they_o but_o they_o engage_v to_o christ_n and_o beside_o whatever_o they_o have_v do_v in_o the_o service_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o they_o it_o be_v accompany_v with_o many_o weakness_n and_o frailty_n that_o if_o it_o be_v not_o for_o christ_n and_o his_o righteousness_n and_o christ_n present_v they_o god_n the_o father_n can_v not_o accept_v the_o best_a service_n that_o ever_o be_v do_v by_o the_o best_a man_n and_o beside_o the_o saint_n know_v that_o when_o they_o have_v do_v all_o they_o can_v they_o be_v unprofitable_a servant_n if_o they_o can_v do_v a_o thousand_o time_n more_o for_o god_n yet_o they_o have_v nothing_o to_o plead_v christ_n teach_v we_o so_o luke_n 17._o 10._o so_o likewise_o you_o when_o you_o shall_v have_v do_v all_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v command_v you_o say_v we_o be_v unprofitable_a servant_n we_o have_v do_v that_o which_o be_v our_o duty_n to_o do_v mark_v if_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o any_o of_o god_n people_n to_o do_v all_o that_o the_o lord_n require_v yet_o there_o be_v nothing_o to_o plead_v you_o have_v do_v but_o that_o which_o be_v your_o duty_n that_o which_o be_v your_o debt_n now_o the_o payment_n of_o a_o debt_n be_v no_o engagement_n he_o to_o who_o the_o debt_n be_v pay_v be_v not_o engage_v you_o have_v do_v but_o your_o duty_n and_o so_o the_o best_a of_o all_o the_o saint_n if_o they_o can_v do_v all_o that_o be_v require_v they_o do_v but_o pay_v their_o debt_n there_o be_v a_o debt_n of_o thankfulness_n not_o debt_n of_o justice_n we_o have_v do_v that_o which_o be_v duty_n which_o we_o owe_v to_o mercy_n and_o free_a grace_n again_o the_o saint_n can_v plead_v their_o suffering_n though_o a_o man_n suffer_v never_o so_o much_o and_o suffer_v never_o so_o well_o and_o suffer_v upon_o a_o good_a ground_n and_o suffer_v for_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n yet_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o he_o can_v plead_v by_o way_n of_o merit_n for_o there_o be_v no_o man_n suffer_v without_o sin_n there_o be_v merit_n in_o christ_n suffering_n because_o he_o suffer_v and_o have_v no_o sin_n of_o his_o own_o he_o be_v the_o lamb_n of_o god_n without_o spot_n but_o now_o the_o best_a of_o saint_n upon_o earth_n who_o do_v suffer_v for_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n can_v suffer_v without_o sin_n though_o it_o be_v not_o punish_v for_o sin_n yet_o still_o there_o be_v sin_n in_o the_o person_n and_o so_o can_v be_v no_o desert_n and_o then_o beside_o it_o be_v that_o which_o the_o saint_n owe_v to_o chris_n as_o they_o owe_v all_o duty_n so_o they_o owe_v all_o suffering_n for_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n and_o if_o they_o shall_v suffer_v a_o thousand_o time_n more_o than_o ever_o any_o man_n suffer_v it_o be_v but_o what_o they_o owe_v and_o therefore_o suffer_v can_v be_v plead_v no_o more_o than_o service_n and_o so_o you_o have_v the_o first_o part_n of_o the_o point_n but_o of_o the_o second_o part_n to_o speak_v more_o brief_o to_o that_o as_o a_o soul_n be_v take_v off_o of_o itself_o so_o it_o plead_v only_a mercy_n flee_v to_o free_a grace_n come_v to_o naked_a mercy_n first_o for_o a_o gracious_a heart_n it_o see_v and_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o fullness_n in_o mercy_n to_o it_o run_v from_o itself_o so_o there_o be_v that_o in_o mercy_n and_o free_a grace_n which_o may_v make_v it_o run_v to_o it_o as_o to_o a_o city_n of_o refuge_n there_o be_v a_o fullness_n in_o mercy_n which_o may_v answer_v the_o soul_n desire_n and_o want_n for_o as_o you_o hear_v before_o when_o the_o lord_n do_v discover_v to_o a_o man_n that_o he_o be_v a_o poor_a creature_n destitute_a and_o naked_a why_o the_o same_o spirit_n do_v discover_v that_o there_o be_v enough_o in_o mercy_n to_o supply_v all_o want_n mercy_n have_v make_v great_a provision_n for_o the_o poor_a naked_a destitute_a creature_n and_o as_o it_o discover_v to_o a_o soul_n that_o it_o be_v a_o sinful_a creature_n so_o the_o same_o spirit_n do_v discover_v that_o there_o be_v enough_o in_o mercy_n to_o take_v away_o all_o sin_n and_o pardon_v all_o transgression_n and_o mercy_n and_o free_a grace_n have_v set_v open_a a_o fountain_n a_o infinite_a fountain_n a_o bottomless_a fountain_n of_o merit_n in_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n for_o the_o wash_n away_o of_o sin_n and_o as_o the_o soul_n see_v that_o it_o be_v a_o poor_a weak_a creature_n so_o the_o same_o spirit_n do_v discover_v to_o it_o this_o that_o god_n sometime_o do_v seem_v not_o only_o to_o be_v silent_a at_o the_o prayer_n of_o his_o people_n when_o they_o cry_v themselves_o 1._o but_o he_o give_v a_o denial_n when_o other_o step_v in_o and_o pray_v for_o they_o nay_o observe_v that_o after_o a_o soul_n have_v wait_v upon_o god_n in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o mean_n 2._o when_o it_o have_v pray_v and_o have_v believe_v and_o when_o it_o have_v call_v in_o the_o help_n of_o other_o prayer_n yet_o the_o lord_n may_v seem_v to_o give_v a_o denial_n and_o the_o condition_n may_v seem_v to_o be_v worse_o and_o the_o temptation_n seem_v to_o rise_v high_a even_o after_o a_o soul_n have_v wait_v upon_o god_n in_o the_o use_n of_o mean_n and_o yet_o the_o lord_n may_v have_v a_o gracious_a design_n towards_o the_o soul_n for_o mark_v it_o this_o woman_n condition_n be_v worse_a now_o then_o ever_o it_o be_v the_o disciple_n have_v pray_v for_o she_o and_o yet_o even_o after_o this_o christ_n seem_v to_o give_v a_o flat_a denial_n and_o tell_v they_o that_o he_o can_v do_v it_o for_o she_o it_o be_v beside_o his_o commission_n he_o be_v not_o send_v to_o do_v it_o so_o that_o after_o the_o use_n of_o mean_n
