a_o measure_n of_o holiness_n as_o shall_v be_v meet_a for_o they_o here_o be_v proper_o the_o faith_n of_o a_o christian_a which_o go_v beyond_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o wicked_a for_o they_o believe_v they_o have_v their_o sin_n but_o they_o do_v not_o believe_v that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n will_v weaken_v they_o or_o subdue_v and_o abolish_v their_o corruption_n when_o as_o the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v their_o sin_n also_o and_o their_o great_a sin_n too_o but_o yet_o they_o believe_v that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n will_v weaken_v subdue_v and_o abolish_v their_o strong_a corruption_n will_v speak_v for_o we_o to_o god_n grace_v we_o and_o bring_v we_o into_o favour_n with_o he_o this_o may_v comfort_v we_o and_o make_v we_o with_o boldness_n go_v to_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n there_o be_v great_a difference_n betwixt_o the_o time_n when_o josephs_n brethren_n know_v he_o and_o when_o they_o know_v he_o not_o simile_n for_o when_o joseph_n will_v not_o acknowledge_v they_o for_o his_o brethren_n he_o handle_v they_o rough_o and_o take_v they_o for_o spy_n but_o when_o he_o do_v acknowledge_v they_o to_o be_v his_o brethren_n than_o he_o do_v kind_o entertain_v they_o of_o god_n be_v take_v in_o three_o sense_n in_o scripture_n first_o scripture_n the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n do_v signify_v his_o power_n because_o the_o chief_a power_n and_o strength_n of_o a_o man_n lie_v in_o his_o right_a hand_n for_o by_o this_o right_a hand_n he_o do_v work_n and_o bring_v thing_n to_o pass_v so_o by_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n 1_o be_v mean_v the_o power_n of_o god_n by_o the_o which_o he_o be_v able_a to_o do_v whatsoever_o he_o will_v so_o exod._n 15._o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n be_v glorious_a in_o power_n the_o right_a hand_n of_o the_o lord_n bridge_n that_o be_v when_o we_o come_v to_o any_o hard_a pinch_n he_o carry_v we_o over_o this_o be_v therefore_o our_o case_n and_o of_o all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o we_o must_v be_v content_v to_o be_v govern_v and_o guide_v by_o he_o in_o all_o our_o action_n it_o be_v the_o madness_n of_o the_o world_n to_o have_v christ_n to_o be_v their_o redeemer_n but_o they_o will_v not_o have_v he_o to_o be_v their_o governor_n and_o guide_n which_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o so_o many_o in_o the_o world_n miscarry_v in_o their_o action_n and_o their_o course_n because_o they_o be_v not_o guide_v and_o govern_v by_o he_o therefore_o every_o man_n must_v labour_v to_o submit_v himself_o to_o the_o holy_a government_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o 73._o psal_n 24._o the_o prophet_n david_n say_v thou_o will_v guide_v i_o with_o thy_o counsel_n and_o afterward_o receive_v i_o to_o glory_n hence_o we_o may_v conclude_v that_o if_o a_o man_n will_v not_o be_v guide_v by_o god_n see_v in_o stand_a water_n that_o toad_n and_o frog_n breed_v but_o the_o river_n carry_v they_o away_o even_o so_o when_o there_o be_v peace_n than_o there_o be_v many_o vild_a lust_n and_o sin_n breed_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o christian_a simile_n as_o we_o may_v see_v in_o david_n and_o therefore_o god_n do_v exercise_v his_o church_n with_o many_o temptation_n and_o trial_n to_o scour_v away_o the_o rust_n of_o their_o sin_n as_o matth._n 8._o 23._o when_o he_o have_v call_v his_o disciple_n he_o go_v into_o a_o ship_n with_o they_o simile_n and_o a_o great_a tempest_n do_v arise_v so_o as_o the_o ship_n be_v in_o danger_n of_o drown_v whilst_o christ_n be_v asleep_a in_o the_o ship_n and_o his_o disciple_n go_v and_o awake_v he_o so_o there_o be_v a_o great_a calm_a now_o what_o be_v this_o but_o a_o plain_a figure_n of_o christ_n deal_n with_o we_o for_o he_o place_v we_o here_o in_o this_o world_n as_o on_o the_o sea_n he_o raise_v up_o many_o trouble_n and_o affliction_n and_o seem_v to_o be_v asleep_a therefore_o we_o must_v go_v to_o christ_n with_o the_o disciple_n and_o awake_v he_o by_o our_o prayer_n and_o stir_v he_o by_o our_o repentance_n and_o then_o he_o will_v drive_v away_o our_o trouble_n this_o be_v one_o act_n of_o christ_n administration_n therefore_o when_o it_o be_v thus_o with_o a_o christian_a that_o there_o be_v one_o trouble_n after_o another_o he_o must_v remember_v it_o be_v one_o part_n of_o christ_n holy_a government_n and_o therefore_o must_v submit_v himself_o unto_o it_o there_o be_v three_o cause_n why_o christ_n do_v exercise_v the_o church_n with_o diverse_a temptation_n temptation_n first_o to_o set_v a-work_o their_o grace_n for_o when_o god_n have_v give_v they_o faith_n repentance_n patience_n and_o other_o grace_n of_o his_o spirit_n than_o he_o do_v exercise_v they_o and_o set_v they_o a-work_o so_o gen._n 22._o when_o god_n have_v give_v say_v to_o abraham_n 1_o than_o he_o try_v he_o and_o consider_v my_o servant_n job_n how_o that_o he_o be_v a_o just_a and_o upright_a man_n the_o lord_n will_v have_v the_o world_n and_o the_o devil_n to_o see_v the_o grace_n that_o be_v in_o job_n and_o how_o he_o be_v
the_o king_n will_v sure_o spare_v he_o for_o his_o son_n sake_n so_o there_o be_v a_o sentence_n pass_v against_o we_o for_o our_o offence_n and_o we_o be_v judge_v not_o only_o to_o lose_v a_o hand_n or_o a_o eye_n or_o any_o one_o member_n but_o all_o our_o part_n now_o if_o we_o have_v the_o skill_n to_o make_v our_o hand_n eye_n and_o member_n the_o hand_n eye_n and_o member_n of_o christ_n and_o become_v one_o with_o he_o than_o god_n will_v spare_v we_o for_o his_o son_n sake_n thus_o to_o be_v find_v in_o christ_n be_v very_o difficult_a and_o therefore_o let_v we_o consider_v these_o three_o thing_n which_o be_v necessary_o require_v thereto_o first_o christ_n he_o must_v make_v a_o remove_v from_o himself_o that_o be_v from_o his_o sin_n and_o corrnption_n
