so_o that_o from_o abhor_v of_o god_n you_o may_v come_v to_o delight_n yourselves_o in_o the_o lord_n 6._o one_o other_o cause_n near_o akin_a to_o this_o of_o withhold_v the_o prayer_n be_v the_o love_n of_o sin_n when_o wickedness_n be_v sweet_a in_o the_o mouth_n and_o as_o you_o pleasant_a morsel_n be_v hide_v under_o the_o tongue_n job_n 20.12_o then_o prayer_n be_v unsavoury_a and_o bitter_a and_o no_o acceptable_a relish_n to_o be_v find_v in_o it_o though_o the_o pious_a soul_n use_v to_o fall_v to_o it_o like_o a_o epicure_n to_o his_o feast_n yet_o as_o man_n grow_v foâ—d_v of_o their_o sin_n they_o fall_v out_o of_o conceit_n with_o their_o prayer_n and_o if_o they_o do_v not_o check_v themselves_o in_o the_o wicked_a course_n they_o shall_v find_v a_o obeck_n at_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n if_o you_o be_v conscious_a of_o iniquity_n regard_v in_o your_o heart_n and_o allow_v in_o your_o practice_n then_o go_v to_o the_o lord_n in_o that_o pickle_n you_o can_v expect_v small_a welcome_n nor_o any_o destrable_a hear_v when_o you_o go_v on_o in_o your_o trespass_n you_o will_v be_v heartless_a to_o carry_v on_o your_o prayer_n and_o where_o the_o wickedness_n be_v become_v delicious_a there_o the_o prayer_n will_v grow_v fulsome_a and_o how_o can_v you_o in_o earnest_n pray_v against_o the_o thing_n which_o you_o love_v above_o all_o thing_n that_o which_o make_v thou_o abash_v before_o the_o lord_n will_v be_v apt_a to_o keep_v thou_o out_o of_o his_o presence_n when_o thy_o do_v be_v so_o inconsistent_a with_o thy_o pray_v and_o thou_o know_v where_o be_v the_o stop_n and_o what_o be_v the_o matter_n that_o god_n hide_v his_o face_n from_o thou_o and_o will_v have_v nothing_o to_o do_v with_o thou_o till_o thou_o have_v do_v with_o the_o provoke_a thing_n then_o thou_o hang_v back_o from_o the_o gall_v office_n and_o try_v to_o divert_v and_o ease_n thyself_o another_o way_n and_o what_o heart_n have_v thou_o to_o seek_v the_o face_n of_o the_o lord_n which_o his_o word_n tell_v thou_o be_v against_o they_o that_o do_v evil_a psal_n 34.16_o alas_o the_o ungodly_a wretch_n have_v get_v other_o haunt_v than_o to_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n of_o his_o lust_n i_o can_v much_o wonder_v that_o a_o wicked_a family_n shall_v be_v a_o prayerless_a family_n where_o their_o head_n and_o their_o tongue_n run_v upon_o vanity_n and_o foolery_n pomp_n and_o pride_n fashion_n and_o dress_n dainty_n and_o excess_n the_o pot_n and_o the_o game_n curse_v and_o swear_v corrupt_a communication_n and_o dissolute_a conversation_n rake_v and_o tear_v for_o the_o world_n or_o brawl_v and_o fight_v among_o themselves_o such_o a_o life_n and_o prayer_n agree_v like_o fire_n and_o water_n they_o be_v ramble_v from_o god_n and_o fly_v out_o against_o he_o and_o how_o then_o can_v they_o for_o shame_n see_v one_o another_o face_n before_o he_o their_o prayer_n will_v look_v but_o like_o a_o jest_n and_o not_o only_o a_o piece_n of_o formality_n but_o of_o mockery_n o_o sinner_n when_o thou_o turn_v thyself_o loose_a to_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o thy_o heart_n and_o the_o sight_n of_o thy_o eye_n when_o thou_o
