our_o formal_a and_o carnal_a worship_n our_o lip-labour_n etc._n etc._n 2_o otherwile_n obscene_a &_o filthy_a suitable_a to_o our_o end_n in_o the_o worship_v of_o god_n which_o be_v to_o satisfy_v the_o flesh_n col._n 2_o 23._o 3_o eftsoones_n they_o be_v profane_a and_o atheistical_a blasphemous_a and_o horrible_a meet_v with_o our_o pride_n and_o confidence_n in_o well_o do_v 4_o yea_o sometime_o they_o seem_v to_o be_v divine_a and_o angelical_a replenish_v with_o joy_n and_o yet_o be_v unseasonable_a seem_v to_o meet_v with_o our_o rejoice_v in_o the_o flesh_n and_o so_o to_o interrupt_v we_o in_o the_o present_a occasion_n 5_o sometime_o they_o be_v profound_a and_o mystical_a such_o as_o neither_o ourselves_o nor_o other_o can_v tell_v what_o to_o make_v of_o answerable_a to_o our_o curious_a and_o presumptuous_a spirit_n desirous_a to_o pry_v into_o hide_a mystery_n and_o to_o rove_v after_o dream_n and_o revelation_n to_o confound_v our_o vain_a trust_n and_o confidence_n therein_o 6_o for_o the_o most_o part_n they_o be_v carnal_a and_o full_a of_o worldliness_n according_a to_o the_o common_a aim_n of_o profession_n which_o be_v currant_n in_o the_o world_n namely_o for_o profit_n pleasure_n etc._n etc._n as_o just_o convince_a our_o want_n of_o preparation_n and_o intention_n thereto_o and_o arise_v either_o from_o our_o own_o unstable_a heart_n or_o satan_n malice_n to_o divert_v we_o from_o what_o we_o have_v in_o hand_n 8_o and_o so_o according_a to_o our_o ignorance_n or_o unsettled_a judgement_n in_o the_o matter_n &_o manner_n of_o divine_a worship_n they_o be_v full_a of_o uncertainty_n and_o wander_n full_a of_o fear_n distraction_n and_o inconstancy_n the_o effect_n of_o these_o kind_n of_o thought_n be_v at_o the_o best_a they_o interrupt_v the_o intention_n of_o the_o heart_n in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n and_o so_o hinder_v the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o power_n thereof_o and_o deprive_v the_o conscience_n of_o much_o comfort_n of_o the_o same_o but_o if_o they_o be_v in_o any_o sort_n give_v way_n unto_o they_o may_v prove_v occasion_n of_o prophanesse_n in_o the_o heart_n and_o secret_a atheism_n and_o also_o of_o hypocrisy_n and_o carnal_a worship_n yea_o if_o they_o be_v not_o speedy_o qualify_v &_o suppress_v they_o may_v be_v occasion_n by_o it_o ckle_v the_o affection_n and_o procure_v consent_n thereto_o to_o break_v out_o into_o gross_a evil_n to_o the_o reproach_n of_o profession_n and_o wound_v of_o the_o conscience_n nay_o do_v it_o not_o fall_v out_o that_o when_o as_o these_o vain_a and_o wander_a thought_n accompany_v we_o in_o divine_a worship_n occasion_v from_o our_o want_n of_o preparation_n thereto_o and_o conscience_n thereof_o to_o make_v we_o more_o holy_a &_o careful_a therein_o yet_o by_o these_o thought_n we_o may_v oft_o time_n measure_v the_o worship_n of_o god_n and_o so_o grow_v either_o to_o conceive_v base_o thereof_o and_o thereby_o fall_v to_o plain_a formality_n and_o customaâ—inesse_n therein_o or_o else_o on_o the_o other_o side_n conceive_v the_o worship_n of_o god_n to_o be_v so_o heavenly_a and_o ourselves_o so_o carnal_a and_o unable_a to_o perform_v the_o same_o through_o a_o scrupulous_a fear_n of_o defile_v the_o same_o and_o so_o make_v it_o unprofitable_a unto_o we_o we_o grow_v at_o length_n to_o this_o resolution_n not_o to_o deal_v with_o such_o edge-tool_n lest_o we_o not_o only_o not_o profit_n but_o rather_o may_v be_v further_o confound_v hereby_o be_v not_o this_o a_o tentation_n incident_a in_o our_o fail_n and_o be_v provoke_v to_o more_o constancy_n 4_o especial_o be_v we_o careful_a of_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o sabaoth_n not_o so_o much_o to_o stand_v upon_o the_o work_n do_v as_o upon_o the_o bind_n of_o our_o thought_n and_o affection_n to_o prosecute_v the_o same_o more_o entire_o and_o this_o shall_v prove_v a_o gracious_a preservative_n against_o such_o wander_a thought_n all_o the_o week_n after_o 5._o and_o hereunto_o also_o shall_v serve_v very_o profitable_o the_o confine_v our_o thought_n and_o affection_n in_o worldly_a occasion_n that_o our_o conversation_n therein_o be_v without_o discontent_n covetousness_n distrust_n etc._n etc._n for_o hereby_o we_o shall_v be_v less_o pester_v with_o vain_a and_o carnal_a thought_n when_o we_o intend_v spiritual_a will_v not_o measure_v his_o goodness_n by_o they_o or_o propound_v absolute_o success_n in_o they_o and_o so_o shall_v we_o be_v less_o encumber_v with_o such_o thought_n in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n and_o be_v we_o frequent_v in_o the_o meditation_n of_o heavenly_a thing_n draw_v we_o ourselves_o apart_o often_o into_o god_n presence_n to_o have_v private_a familiarity_n with_o his_o holiness_n that_o so_o we_o may_v be_v more_o ready_a and_o spiritual_a when_o we_o come_v to_o set_v duty_n especial_o labour_n we_o daily_o to_o renew_v our_o repentance_n daily_o for_o all_o know_a sin_n that_o so_o we_o may_v more_o bold_o appear_v before_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o worship_n and_o may_v more_o free_o and_o entire_o converse_v with_o he_o therein_o because_o sin_v unrepented_a of_o will_v be_v sure_a to_o haunt_v and_o interrupt_v we_o when_o we_o be_v about_o to_o do_v most_o good_a as_o to_o defile_v the_o same_o so_o in_o the_o wise_a mercy_n of_o god_n to_o provoke_v we_o to_o the_o clear_n of_o the_o score_n lest_o if_o we_o regard_v iniquity_n in_o our_o heart_n the_o lord_n will_v not_o hear_v our_o prayer_n psal_n 66.18_o and_o therefore_o as_o we_o be_v to_o begin_v all_o holy_a exercise_n with_o confession_n and_o deprecation_n for_o our_o sin_n especial_o such_o particular_a as_o lie_v upon_o we_o that_o so_o they_o may_v not_o fly_v in_o our_o face_n when_o we_o seek_v the_o face_n of_o god_n in_o his_o worship_n so_o if_o we_o conclude_v all_o holy_a duty_n with_o confession_n of_o our_o fayling_n therein_o especial_o of_o the_o vanity_n of_o our_o mind_n and_o wander_v of_o our_o affection_n we_o shall_v hereby_o be_v better_o store_v with_o holy_a thought_n and_o affection_n therein_o and_o less_o interrupt_v with_o the_o contrary_n to_o and_o nocturnal_a imagination_n what_o be_v the_o quality_n thereof_o how_o we_o be_v to_o judge_v and_o determine_v the_o same_o what_o use_v to_o make_v of_o the_o same_o as_o the_o saint_n of_o thing_n as_o be_v monstrous_a and_o fearful_a such_o as_o can_v stand_v with_o a_o regenerate_a heart_n very_o needful_a therefore_o be_v it_o that_o some_o satisfaction_n be_v yield_v unto_o they_o in_o this_o behalf_n that_o so_o they_o may_v not_o be_v cast_v from_o their_o hold_n in_o grace_n to_o this_o end_n these_o three_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v resolve_v 1_o what_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o dream_n 2_o what_o be_v the_o kind_n of_o they_o and_o so_o 3_o how_o far_o we_o be_v to_o take_v notice_n of_o they_o and_o take_v heed_n thereof_o concern_v the_o nature_n of_o dream_n they_o be_v general_o such_o thought_n and_o motion_n of_o the_o mind_n wherewith_o it_o be_v exercise_v when_o the_o bodily_a sense_n be_v bind_v as_o proceed_v principal_o from_o the_o condition_n come_v or_o to_o bring_v to_o mind_n thing_n past_a or_o else_o some_o deceitful_a iniection_n of_o satan_n affect_v the_o mind_n with_o some_o motion_n of_o thing_n past_a or_o to_o come_v or_o such_o as_o be_v not_o competent_a thereto_o and_o so_o either_o distract_n with_o false_a fear_n or_o else_o puff_v up_o with_o conceit_n of_o such_o thing_n as_o be_v above_o our_o compass_n that_o thereby_o we_o may_v deceive_v ourselves_o and_o other_o out_o of_o which_o difference_n of_o occasion_n we_o may_v determine_v of_o the_o second_o point_n namely_o the_o difference_n of_o dream_n which_o be_v either_o natural_a such_o as_o proceed_v from_o complexion_n condition_n conversation_n etc._n etc._n 2_o or_o spiritual_a arise_v from_o our_o general_a call_n 3_o or_o divine_a such_o as_o proceed_v from_o revelation_n 4_o or_o satanical_a such_o as_o arise_v from_o satan_n power_n iniect_v strange_a imagination_n and_o so_o affect_v the_o mind_n diverse_o thereby_o and_o so_o out_o of_o this_o difference_n of_o dream_n we_o may_v also_o be_v satisfy_v in_o the_o last_o point_n how_o far_o we_o be_v to_o take_v notice_n and_o regard_n the_o same_o and_o that_o by_o these_o of_o they_o concern_v the_o difference_n of_o these_o dream_n whereas_o some_o be_v natural_a as_o such_o which_o proceed_v from_o natural_a cause_n namely_o constitution_n of_o body_n condition_n of_o life_n conversation_n etc._n etc._n other_o supernatural_a here_o the_o first_o rule_n of_o satisfaction_n be_v that_o though_o those_o which_o proceed_v from_o complexion_n be_v invincible_a yet_o see_v this_o be_v alterbale_n by_o the_o condition_n of_o life_n especial_o by_o renew_a conversation_n therefore_o they_o be_v not_o altogether_o to_o be_v neglect_v as_o argue_v our_o deprave_a nature_n which_o even_o in_o the_o very_a complexion_n be_v degenerate_a from_o what_o it_o be_v and_o shall_v be_v but_o we_o be_v to_o be_v humble_v for_o they_o by_o repentance_n especial_o see_v they_o often_o produce_v such_o evil_a action_n even_o in_o our_o sleep_n of_o lust_n anger_n etc._n etc._n as_o be_v abominable_a and_o though_o they_o be_v of_o good_a thing_n yet_o breed_v discontent_n and_o confusion_n of_o our_o happiness_n in_o that_o when_o we_o awake_v now_o be_v a_o hungry_a isa_n 28.7_o disappoint_v of_o what_o we_o dream_v of_o and_o so_o confound_v therein_o yet_o herein_o also_o to_o be_v comfort_v that_o be_v but_o dream_n if_o they_o be_v of_o evil_a we_o do_v not_o full_o consent_v to_o they_o if_o of_o good_a though_o disappoint_v yet_o we_o may_v be_v recompense_v with_o great_a goodness_n we_o have_v yet_o time_n to_o procure_v that_o wake_n which_o in_o our_o dream_n we_o miss_v or_o else_o to_o obtain_v a_o great_a good_a to_o turn_v our_o dream_n into_o constant_a practice_n of_o holiness_n that_o so_o our_o dream_n may_v be_v more_o pure_a and_o our_o daily_a carriage_n may_v be_v more_o spiritual_a and_o retire_v in_o communion_n with_o our_o god_n that_o our_o righteousness_n may_v not_o be_v a_o dream_n and_o so_o vanish_v accord_o as_o know_v that_o these_o dream_n though_o they_o be_v natural_a yet_o do_v convince_v nature_n corruption_n and_o so_o make_v we_o inexcusable_a if_o we_o will_v not_o be_v school_v by_o they_o as_o be_v a_o part_n of_o god_n ordinance_n to_o awaken_v we_o out_o of_o sin_n proceed_v from_o no_o better_a warrant_n than_o our_o dream_n and_o fancy_n because_o at_o the_o best_a they_o be_v no_o better_o than_o the_o illusion_n of_o satan_n so_o see_v the_o lord_n teach_v we_o as_o well_o in_o the_o night_n as_o in_o the_o day_n according_a to_o what_o we_o have_v either_o do_v or_o hear_v in_o the_o day_n therefore_o though_o we_o may_v not_o rest_v upon_o such_o dream_n as_o presume_v to_o foretell_v thing_n to_o come_v otherwise_o than_o we_o have_v be_v inform_v by_o the_o word_n because_o even_o a_o true_a dream_n of_o thing_n that_o fall_v out_o according_o may_v be_v a_o delusion_n unto_o we_o to_o provoke_v we_o to_o the_o contempt_n of_o the_o word_n if_o by_o the_o word_n we_o have_v not_o be_v inform_v thereof_o or_o desire_v not_o to_o no_o child_n of_o god_n but_o be_v subject_a to_o one_o sin_n above_o another_o therefore_o it_o be_v his_o especial_a care_n to_o curb_v his_o thought_n concern_v it_o though_o he_o neglect_v not_o any_o other_o yet_o principal_o he_o attend_v such_o thought_n as_o tend_v this_o way_n etc._n etc._n and_o so_o as_o it_o usual_o fall_v out_o that_o as_o he_o shall_v find_v himself_o defective_a course_n that_o so_o it_o may_v more_o free_o solace_v itself_o with_o it_o god_n and_o enlarge_v it_o thought_n on_o god_n and_o his_o goodness_n or_o else_o take_v occasion_n of_o the_o night_n season_n when_o the_o body_n be_v at_o rest_n be_v free_a from_o interruption_n by_o outward_a object_n thereby_o to_o contemplate_v more_o free_o and_o constant_o on_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o life_n to_o come_v and_o all_o such_o gracious_a mean_n as_o may_v further_o thereunto_o as_o for_o the_o hypocrite_n it_o be_v otherwise_o with_o he_o as_o of_o all_o thing_n he_o can_v endure_v to_o be_v alone_o for_o fear_v of_o melancholy_a bugbear_n etc._n etc._n so_o if_o he_o retire_v himself_o it_o be_v rather_o to_o plot_v for_o his_o desire_n or_o bless_v himself_o in_o his_o purchase_n to_o flatter_v his_o heart_n in_o his_o imaginary_a happiness_n if_o now_o any_o good_a motion_n break_v in_o to_o draw_v he_o high_o he_o startle_v as_o it_o have_v be_v at_o a_o bugbear_n and_o present_o break_v of_o to_o company_n music_n so_o far_o be_v he_o from_o cherish_v and_o entertain_v the_o same_o above_o all_o he_o can_v endure_v if_o it_o may_v be_v to_o wake_v in_o the_o night_n alone_o it_o be_v his_o wisdom_n to_o drown_v his_o head_n to_o bedward_o that_o he_o may_v lie_v in_o his_o bed_n like_o a_o stone_n if_o he_o awake_v his_o next_o work_n be_v to_o toss_v and_o tumble_v his_o body_n that_o so_o the_o mind_n may_v not_o settle_v to_o any_o holy_a meditation_n if_o he_o dream_v of_o temporal_a good_a it_o grieve_v he_o that_o he_o have_v it_o not_o if_o he_o dream_v of_o evil_n it_o scare_n he_o to_o report_v of_o it_o once_o it_o be_v that_o he_o seldom_o or_o never_o dream_v of_o heavenly_a thing_n or_o if_o he_o do_v he_o account_v it_o as_o a_o dream_n and_o so_o it_o vanish_v especial_o we_o shall_v find_v this_o proper_a to_o the_o saint_n to_o be_v wise_a in_o entertain_v the_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n observe_v the_o check_n of_o conscience_n and_o furnish_v the_o mind_n with_o holy_a meditation_n rejoice_v exceed_o in_o the_o now_o plentiful_a tender_a and_o gracious_a success_n thereof_o and_o grieve_v exceed_o either_o at_o any_o contrary_a motion_n or_o at_o the_o neglect_n &_o disappointment_n of_o good_a motion_n he_o know_v that_o by_o neglect_v such_o he_o may_v grieve_v the_o spirit_n &_o so_o grow_v to_o a_o quench_n of_o the_o same_o and_o thereby_o be_v draw_v to_o despite_n the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n if_o not_o direct_o &_o by_o profession_n yet_o indirect_o and_o by_o a_o carnal_a opposition_n in_o slander_v &_o persecute_v spiritual_a grace_n in_o god_n child_n and_o therefore_o his_o wisdom_n be_v to_o resist_v the_o beginning_n of_o evil_a and_o entertain_v the_o first_o motion_n of_o good_a that_o so_o he_o may_v prevent_v the_o practice_n and_o custom_n of_o sin_n and_o so_o hardness_n of_o heart_n profaneness_n and_o apostasy_n that_o so_o be_v faithful_a in_o a_o little_a he_o may_v be_v entrust_v with_o great_a mercy_n and_o so_o he_o be_v also_o careful_a and_o provident_a to_o gather_v &_o treasure_n up_o store_n of_o good_a matter_n and_o heavenly_a business_n for_o the_o continual_a exercise_n of_o his_o mind_n lest_o that_o noble_a power_n of_o his_o soul_n shall_v be_v take_v up_o with_o trifle_n and_o vanity_n seed_n upon_o the_o earth_n or_o wear_v and_o waste_v itself_o with_o barren_a &_o lumpish_a melancholy_n to_o this_o end_n he_o be_v conscionable_a in_o redeem_v of_o the_o time_n in_o walk_v faithful_o in_o his_o call_n to_o auspicate_v his_o worldly_a idle_a thought_n 2_o that_o we_o make_v a_o covenant_n with_o our_o heart_n and_o keep_v a_o continual_a watch_n over_o they_o examine_v they_o daily_o and_o try_v they_o by_o the_o word_n so_o shall_v not_o evil_a thought_n roost_v in_o they_o 3_o that_o we_o make_v a_o covenant_n with_o our_o eye_n and_o other_o sense_n keep_v they_o from_o carnal_a object_n or_o not_o let_v they_o dwell_v upon_o they_o &_o so_o may_v evil_a thought_n be_v gracious_o prevent_v 4_o to_o this_o end_n be_v we_o careful_a of_o our_o company_n avoid_v the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o wicked_a and_o so_o shall_v blasphemous_a and_o atheistical_a thought_n 6_o above_o all_o take_v heed_n of_o idleness_n be_v the_o fountain_n and_o nurse_n of_o all_o filthy_a and_o terrible_a thought_n 7_o and_o labour_n we_o to_o set_v bound_n to_o the_o mind_n in_o regard_n of_o it_o desire_n strive_v for_o contentment_n in_o our_o estate_n so_o shall_v we_o avoid_v a_o world_n of_o covetous_a and_o ambitious_a thought_n and_o such_o as_o do_v accompany_v the_o same_o as_o thought_n of_o deceit_n murder_n flattery_n etc._n etc._n 8_o be_v we_o conscionable_a and_o powerful_a in_o holy_a duty_n watch_v over_o such_o thought_n as_o do_v accompany_v we_o therein_o especial_o those_o good_a thought_n that_o be_v foist_v into_o hinder_v the_o present_a intention_n of_o the_o mind_n for_o the_o neglect_n hereof_o give_v the_o lord_n just_a occasion_n to_o leave_v we_o to_o be_v buffet_v with_o all_o sort_n of_o evil_a thought_n especial_o such_o as_o be_v terrible_a and_o impure_a 9_o and_o so_o be_v we_o careful_a especial_o of_o ourselves_o when_o we_o be_v alone_o that_o now_o especial_o we_o let_v not_o our_o thought_n rove_v at_o random_n but_o confine_v they_o to_o some_o certain_a bound_n principal_o to_o think_v on_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n to_o lay_v open_a our_o heart_n before_o he_o lest_o terror_n assault_v we_o or_o mopishnes_n and_o drowsiness_n dead_a the_o heart_n 10_o especial_o be_v we_o careful_a to_o entertain_v the_o good_a motion_n of_o god_n spirit_n to_o obey_v the_o check_n of_o conscience_n to_o make_v use_n of_o god_n wonderful_a work_n both_o of_o mercy_n and_o judgement_n that_o be_v extraordinary_o offer_v unto_o we_o season_v our_o heart_n with_o a_o holy_a meditation_n of_o they_o so_o shall_v we_o gracious_o prevent_v evil_a thought_n 11_o take_v we_o notice_n often_o of_o natural_a corruption_n in_o all_o practice_n of_o repentance_n fetch_v we_o our_o sin_n from_o this_o fountain_n psalm_n 51.3_o and_o be_v we_o still_o hew_v and_o dig_v at_o this_o root_n and_o so_o shall_v we_o be_v less_o trouble_v with_o evil_a thought_n 12_o and_o labour_n we_o in_o holy_a duty_n to_o draw_v ourselves_o into_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n to_o avoid_v ostentation_n and_o respect_n of_o man_n to_o do_v all_o thing_n as_o in_o god_n presence_n and_o to_o his_o glory_n so_o shall_v evil_a thought_n less_o prevail_v with_o us._n 13_o remember_v we_o that_o we_o must_v give_v account_n for_o they_o and_o so_o let_v we_o reckon_v with_o ourselves_o for_o they_o in_o this_o life_n that_o so_o we_o may_v not_o be_v judge_v for_o they_o in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v 14_o above_o all_o be_v we_o careful_a to_o watch_v over_o our_o thought_n on_o the_o sabaoth_n because_o that_o day_n above_o all_o other_o bind_v our_o thought_n whole_o to_o the_o good_a bear_n and_o this_o shall_v be_v a_o mean_n to_o order_v they_o the_o better_a when_o we_o have_v more_o liberty_n for_o the_o world_n 15_o and_o to_o this_o end_n labour_n we_o to_o wash_v and_o purge_v the_o fountain_n of_o our_o heart_n in_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n that_o so_o be_v purify_v by_o faith_n in_o he_o the_o stream_n of_o our_o thought_n and_o affection_n may_v be_v cleanse_v and_o sanctify_v 16_o and_o so_o if_o any_o evil_a thought_n arise_v up_o in_o our_o heart_n let_v they_o not_o remain_v in_o we_o but_o present_o make_v resistance_n against_o they_o by_o tremble_v thereat_o and_o turn_v the_o heart_n to_o a_o contrary_a subject_n humble_v our_o soul_n by_o speedy_a repentance_n for_o the_o same_o jerem._n 4.13_o use_v in_o though_o it_o can_v do_v ill_o yet_o herein_o it_o pride_n itself_o that_o it_o can_v think_v thereof_o that_o it_o can_v wish_v opportunity_n and_o ability_n thereunto_o as_o we_o see_v in_o wicked_a old_a folk_n in_o beggar_n they_o can_v think_v evil_a though_o they_o dare_v not_o do_v it_o it_o do_v they_o good_a to_o think_v of_o it_o though_o now_o they_o be_v past_a date_n &c_n &c_n but_o she_o make_v out_o against_o it_o present_o by_o prayer_n and_o humiliation_n by_o change_v the_o copy_n to_o a_o contrary_a good_a tho_o and_o so_o by_o a_o after_o watchfulness_n against_o the_o same_o especial_o whereas_o not_o only_o in_o the_o day_n but_o in_o the_o night_n also_o the_o mind_n as_o it_o always_o be_v in_o action_n so_o be_v exercise_v as_o well_o with_o evil_n as_o it_o be_v with_o good_a thought_n we_o may_v now_o observe_v this_o difference_n herein_o between_o the_o hypocrite_n and_o true_a nathaniel_n that_o whatsoever_o evil_a thought_n and_o effect_n thereof_o be_v incident_a to_o the_o night_n these_o be_v if_o not_o for_o the_o present_a judge_v and_o disclaim_v yet_o by_o god_n bless_a spirit_n they_o be_v call_v to_o remembrance_n in_o the_o morning_n or_o upon_o some_o such_o like_a occasion_n in_o the_o day_n and_o so_o seasonable_o reprove_v by_o the_o spirit_n that_o know_v the_o heart_n and_o labour_n to_o purge_v it_o from_o all_o secret_a evil_n and_o so_o the_o conscience_n maintain_v peace_n inward_o with_o god_n and_o so_o thereby_o gain_v more_o fruit_n and_o spiritual_a rest_n hereafter_o but_o with_o the_o hypocrite_n it_o be_v christian_n and_o so_o hereby_o be_v subject_a to_o spiritual_a pride_n and_o so_o to_o rob_v god_n of_o his_o glory_n be_v therefore_o also_o humble_v with_o such_o terrible_a thought_n to_o make_v they_o the_o more_o sober_a in_o their_o understanding_n to_o prevent_v curious_a search_n expectation_n of_o revelation_n and_o such_o effect_n as_o follow_v thereupon_o or_o else_o through_o inward_a testimony_n of_o joy_n they_o be_v grow_v secure_a and_o so_o be_v awaken_v usual_o with_o such_o horrible_a thought_n or_o they_o fall_v to_o pry_v into_o sublime_a and_o sacred_a mystery_n so_o far_o and_o to_o be_v leave_v to_o such_o tentation_n or_o they_o be_v decay_v and_o so_o decline_v from_o their_o first_o love_n and_o so_o be_v rouse_v up_o and_o set_v upon_o by_o such_o horrible_a thought_n to_o put_v they_o to_o their_o trial_n and_o so_o recover_v they_o again_o or_o in_o their_o fail_n they_o be_v plunge_v into_o sudden_a thought_n of_o despair_n and_o these_o usual_o be_v second_v with_o such_o blasphemous_a thought_n as_o to_o hold_v they_o therein_o by_o satan_n policy_n so_o indeed_o by_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n to_o put_v they_o to_o try_v their_o hold_n in_o god_n &_o so_o to_o live_v by_o faith_n without_o feeling_n and_o so_o in_o the_o end_n to_o recover_v feel_v again_o ann_n so_o also_o we_o may_v discern_v these_o tentation_n to_o arise_v from_o nature_n corruption_n by_o such_o occasion_n as_o be_v incident_a to_o god_n child_n for_o either_o it_o please_v god_n to_o shine_v unto_o his_o child_n with_o extraordinary_a comfort_n and_o inward_a joy_n which_o satan_n seek_v to_o turn_v as_o occasion_n to_o the_o flesh_n and_o to_o set_v up_o thereby_o temporal_a happiness_n it_o therefore_o please_v god_n to_o leave_v we_o to_o be_v buffet_v with_o such_o fearful_a thought_n that_o so_o we_o may_v try_v our_o hold_n in_o god_n whether_o we_o love_v he_o better_o than_o these_o comfort_n that_o we_o may_v wait_v suggestion_n and_o so_o though_o we_o be_v cast_v into_o any_o such_o extremity_n whereby_o we_o may_v be_v deprive_v of_o the_o use_n of_o the_o outward_a man_n of_o speech_n and_o other_o mean_n of_o god_n worship_n yet_o here_o be_v our_o comfort_n that_o we_o may_v think_v and_o meditate_v on_o god_n and_o his_o goodness_n by_o our_o thought_n we_o may_v have_v most_o free_a communion_n with_o our_o god_n when_o we_o be_v restrain_v from_o all_o fellowship_n with_o man_n 5_o this_o a_o doctrine_n of_o our_o thought_n yield_v a_o excellent_a comfort_n of_o our_o hope_n and_o interest_n in_o the_o happiness_n of_o a_o better_a life_n and_o freedom_n from_o the_o bondage_n and_o pressure_n of_o they_o 1_o in_o that_o they_o be_v so_o insatiable_a and_o in_o a_o manner_n infinite_a that_o no_o earthly_a thing_n can_v give_v that_o content_a unto_o they_o but_o shall_v still_o they_o be_v hunger_a after_o better_a thing_n therefore_o see_v the_o lord_n have_v make_v every_o thing_n to_o his_o end_n which_o be_v the_o satisfaction_n thereof_o though_o it_o be_v a_o special_a part_n of_o the_o wicked_n torment_n of_o hell_n that_o their_o restless_a heart_n shall_v
