extirpation_n of_o the_o canaanite_n by_o the_o express_a command_n of_o god_n and_o last_o the_o great_a calamity_n which_o befall_v the_o jewish_a nation_n especial_o the_o final_a ruin_n

and_o dispersion_n of_o they_o at_o the_o destruction_n of_o jerusalem_n these_o and_o the_o like_a instance_n of_o god_n severity_n seem_v to_o call_v in_o question_n his_o goodness_n against_o these_o severe_a and_o dreadful_a instance_n of_o god_n severity_n it_o may_v be_v a_o sufficient_a vindication_n of_o his_o goodness_n to_o say_v in_o general_a that_o they_o be_v all_o upon_o great_a and_o high_a provocation_n most_o of_o they_o after_o long_a patience_n and_o forbearance_n and_o with_o a_o great_a mixture_n of_o mercy_n and_o a_o declare_a readiness_n in_o in_o god_n to_o have_v prevent_v or_o remove_v they_o upon_o repentance_n all_o which_o be_v great_a instance_n of_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n but_o yet_o for_o the_o clear_a manifestation_n of_o the_o divine_a goodness_n i_o shall_v consider_v they_o particular_o and_o as_o brief_o as_o i_o can_v 1._o as_o for_o the_o transgression_n of_o our_o first_o parent_n and_o the_o dismal_a consequence_n of_o it_o
