and_o more_o for_o their_o own_o credit_n and_o vainglory_n than_o the_o christian_a faith_n who_o though_o they_o may_v be_v in_o the_o right_n as_o it_o be_v ten_o to_o one_o that_o they_o be_v not_o for_o truth_n seldom_o dwell_v with_o such_o a_o spirit_n of_o rage_n and_o pride_n and_o passion_n but_o rather_o with_o a_o quite_o other_o temper_n yet_o they_o great_o deserve_v the_o cause_n they_o so_o undue_o manage_v and_o as_o they_o never_o be_v like_a to_o convince_v their_o adversary_n so_o they_o give_v other_o just_a ground_n to_o suspect_v that_o they_o apply_v want_v of_o better_a reason_n and_o strong_a argument_n with_o weak_a and_o impotent_a calumny_n and_o with_o undecent_a and_o unbecoming_a reflection_n this_o be_v as_o criminal_a and_o as_o unchristian_a as_o the_o error_n or_o the_o heresy_n they_o be_v so_o zealous_a against_o and_o it_o be_v to_o be_v doubt_v it_o be_v rather_o a_o false_a fire_n and_o a_o hypocritical_a zeal_n not_o for_o the_o cause_n of_o god_n so_o much_o as_o their_o own_o and_o that_o this_o be_v kindle_v not_o from_o the_o altar_n but_o some_o other_o place_n and_o blow_v up_o by_o some_o private_a pique_n and_o sinister_a design_n that_o thus_o blaze_v out_o to_o such_o a_o outrageous_a degree_n as_o to_o consume_v and_o destroy_v not_o only_o its_o adversary_n if_o it_o be_v in_o its_o power_n but_o even_o the_o most_o vital_a and_o substantial_a part_n of_o christianity_n peace_n love_n and_o charity_n and_o contend_v for_o the_o christian_a faith_n with_o such_o a_o most_o diabolical_a and_o unchristian_a temper_n this_o be_v very_o far_o from_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n and_o christianity_n and_o however_o precious_a the_o faith_n be_v yet_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o 1_o cor._n 13.2_o if_o we_o have_v all_o faith_n and_o understand_v all_o mystery_n and_o all_o knowledge_n yet_o without_o charity_n we_o be_v nothing_o however_o great_a we_o may_v be_v in_o our_o own_o thought_n and_o such_o a_o zeal_n of_o sourness_n and_o bitterness_n as_o it_o be_v general_o without_o knowledge_n so_o it_o be_v always_o without_o religion_n and_o though_o it_o hold_v the_o mystery_n of_o the_o faith_n and_o do_v not_o rather_o pervert_v and_o corrupt_v it_o yet_o to_o be_v sure_o this_o also_o be_v not_o according_a to_o the_o apostle_n advice_n in_o a_o pure_a conscience_n last_o this_o imply_v hold_v it_o with_o a_o good_a life_n in_o general_n and_o with_o a_o conscience_n so_o pure_a as_o to_o be_v free_a from_o all_o sin_n and_o all_o wilful_a wickedness_n for_o what_o do_v the_o most_o pure_a and_o orthodox_n faith_n signify_v if_o our_o life_n be_v heretical_a and_o unchristian_a for_o there_o be_v no_o heresy_n so_o damnable_a and_o destructive_a and_o so_o contrary_a to_o christianity_n as_o a_o bad_a life_n and_o live_v by_o principle_n of_o immorality_n and_o no_o orthodoxy_n be_v comparable_a to_o a_o good_a life_n and_o a_o christian_a conversation_n god_n will_v soon_o forgive_v a_o great_a many_o error_n which_o may_v proceed_v from_o weakness_n of_o judgement_n and_o want_n of_o information_n and_o be_v join_v with_o probity_n and_o sincerity_n of_o mind_n rather_o than_o one_o act_n of_o wilful_a wickedness_n and_o immorality_n which_o be_v commit_v always_o against_o the_o light_n of_o a_o man_n be_v own_o conscience_n as_o well_o as_o against_o the_o light_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o where_o there_o can_v be_v no_o pretence_n or_o plea_n of_o ignorance_n to_o excuse_v it_o christian_n faith_n in_o the_o whole_a compass_n of_o it_o be_v design_v to_o be_v a_o powerful_a and_o operative_a principle_n upon_o our_o heart_n and_o life_n to_o be_v a_o seed_n that_o be_v not_o to_o be_v sow_v in_o barren_a ground_n but_o to_o grow_v up_o in_o all_o the_o privilege_n of_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n and_o to_o produce_v not_o only_o the_o leave_n of_o a_o formal_a profession_n and_o the_o blossom_n of_o christian_a faith_n but_o the_o sound_n and_o substantial_a fruit_n of_o all_o christian_a and_o divine_a virtue_n this_o faith_n be_v not_o only_o to_o float_v in_o our_o head_n and_o overflow_v our_o tongue_n but_o to_o sink_v down_o into_o our_o heart_n and_o become_v the_o vital_a principle_n of_o a_o true_o pious_a and_o holy_a and_o virtuous_a life_n christianity_n be_v not_o only_o to_o teach_v we_o a_o new_a scheme_n and_o set_v of_o opinion_n and_o to_o make_v new_a article_n of_o faith_n for_o we_o but_o to_o make_v we_o walk_v in_o newness_n and_o holiness_n of_o life_n to_o set_v the_o best_a precept_n of_o morality_n and_o lay_v the_o best_a model_n of_o virtue_n before_o we_o and_o engage_v we_o to_o follow_v they_o by_o the_o great_a argument_n and_o the_o strong_a obligation_n and_o if_o our_o faith_n do_v not_o engage_v and_o prevail_v upon_o we_o to_o do_v this_o it_o will_v be_v so_o far_o from_o save_v we_o that_o it_o will_v only_o more_o high_o
