pray_v for_o they_o and_o 3._o contribute_v what_o other_o help_n we_o be_v able_a to_o make_v they_o as_o happy_a as_o ourselves_o there_o be_v a_o selfishness_n too_o natural_a to_o every_o one_o of_o we_o that_o will_v not_o let_v we_o hear_v on_o this_o ear_n and_o therefore_o we_o be_v so_o careless_a in_o this_o public_a calamity_n what_o other_o suffer_v so_o we_o be_v free_a how_o senseless_a be_v we_o under_o such_o a_o hand_n as_o be_v fall_v upon_o many_o part_n of_o this_o nation_n and_o therefore_o we_o be_v so_o unthankful_a for_o our_o health_n and_o preservation_n when_o god_n have_v require_v the_o life_n of_o so_o many_o of_o our_o brethren_n from_o they_o what_o a_o fearful_a woeful_a scourge_n do_v the_o city_n feel_v and_o heavy_o groan_v under_o how_o do_v the_o inhabitant_n of_o that_o one_o proud_a and_o glorious_a city_n reply_n to_o one_o another_o in_o sigh_n and_o groan_n and_o bitter_a out_o cry_v and_o lamentation_n where_o whole_a family_n be_v smite_v and_o blast_v and_o child_n and_o parent_n pledge_v one_o another_o in_o tear_n and_o drink_v the_o wine_n of_o astonishment_n where_o dear_a friend_n be_v make_v the_o executor_n of_o we_o feel_v they_o as_o we_o ought_v as_o through_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n we_o be_v more_o safe_a than_o they_o so_o we_o be_v more_o secure_a and_o too_o void_a of_o any_o christian_a sense_n of_o this_o common_a calamity_n alas_o alas_o they_o have_v the_o dreadful_a sound_n and_o noise_n of_o this_o judgement_n in_o their_o ear_n and_o see_v death_n continual_o before_o their_o eye_n but_o we_o hear_v but_o at_o a_o distance_n and_o therefore_o be_v not_o strike_v with_o the_o terror_n thereof_o the_o report_n of_o this_o murdering-piece_n that_o god_n have_v shoot_v off_o in_o many_o place_n of_o this_o nation_n be_v faint_a and_o dead_a before_o it_o come_v to_o our_o sense_n but_o the_o less_o we_o see_v this_o misery_n and_o hear_v these_o cry_v the_o more_o we_o shall_v supply_v this_o merciful_a defect_n by_o consideration_n if_o we_o see_v or_o hear_v it_o may_v be_v we_o shall_v not_o need_v many_o thought_n to_o fetch_v tear_n from_o our_o eye_n and_o sigh_n from_o our_o heart_n desolenciâ—â—_n and_o want_n of_o this_o compassion_n show_v a_o fat_a and_o brawny_a heart_n though_o we_o be_v not_o to_o indulge_v this_o affection_n so_o far_o as_o to_o make_v it_o guilty_a of_o side_v against_o god_n as_o it_o will_v be_v apt_a to_o do_v if_o it_o proceed_v no_o far_o and_o do_v not_o serve_v a_o high_a end_n the_o end_n of_o this_o affection_n be_v to_o make_v way_n for_o compassion_n towards_o their_o soul_n and_o to_o bewail_v and_o beg_v pardon_n for_o their_o sin_n that_o have_v bring_v this_o misery_n on_o they_o 1._o objection_n i_o have_v do_v with_o the_o first_o observable_a which_o the_o text_n sugge_v to_o we_o viz._n that_o forgetfulness_n of_o god_n be_v a_o fearful_a and_o dangerous_a sin_n and_o expose_v such_o as_o be_v guilty_a of_o it_o to_o the_o unavoidable_a wrath_n of_o god_n 2._o objection_n i_o come_v now_o to_o the_o second_o observation_n viz._n that_o consideration_n be_v one_o of_o the_o principal_a instrument_n on_o our_o part_n to_o bring_v we_o to_o the_o remembrance_n of_o god_n at_o first_o and_o to_o prevent_v forgetfulness_n afterward_o or_o to_o recover_v we_o out_o of_o that_o degree_n kingdom_n for_o a_o draught_n of_o water_n alas_o must_v i_o for_o so_o short_a a_o pleasure_n lose_v so_o great_a a_o kingdom_n nine_o another_o thing_n that_o it_o concern_v thou_o much_o to_o roll_n about_o and_o consider_v with_o thy_o deep_a thought_n be_v the_o horror_n and_o confusion_n of_o those_o that_o must_v be_v banish_v for_o ever_o from_o the_o face_n of_o god_n and_o sentence_v to_o everlasting_a misery_n there_o be_v none_o that_o escape_v that_o place_n but_o those_o that_o frequent_o think_v on_o it_o and_o believe_v it_o it_o be_v well_o worth_a thy_o serious_a consideration_n to_o preserve_v thy_o soul_n from_o such_o a_o fearful_a destruction_n many_o a_o man_n who_o god_n have_v awaken_v to_o believe_v those_o terrible_a endless_a torment_n have_v retire_v themselves_o from_o all_o worldly_a noise_n and_o disturbance_n that_o they_o may_v live_v under_o the_o power_n of_o these_o thought_n as_o the_o best_a preservative_n against_o these_o torment_n and_o be_v not_o thy_o soul_n as_o dear_a and_o precious_a to_o thou_o as_o they_o to_o they_o and_o deserve_v as_o much_o compassion_n from_o thou_o sure_o though_o it_o be_v not_o thy_o duty_n to_o think_v actual_o of_o the_o woeful_a and_o miserable_a estate_n of_o unbeliever_n all_o the_o day_n long_o yet_o it_o be_v of_o absolute_a necessity_n that_o some_o serious_a thought_n shall_v be_v spend_v on_o that_o subject_n till_o the_o fear_n thereof_o make_v void_a and_o prevail_v over_o all_o carnal_a worldly_a fear_n whatsoever_o and_o make_v thou_o more_o industrious_a to_o prevent_v that_o misery_n than_o thou_o be_v to_o escape_v the_o scorn_n and_o and_o reproach_n and_o all_o the_o suffering_n and_o misery_n of_o this_o life_n otherwise_o thou_o we_o apprehend_v it_o to_o be_v the_o more_o have_v we_o make_v to_o get_v away_o from_o it_o and_o whether_o a_o wicked_a man_n have_v no_o reason_n to_o think_v his_o woeful_a misery_n near_o even_o at_o the_o door_n i_o leave_v any_o man_n to_o judge_n that_o have_v any_o competent_a use_n of_o his_o understanding_n what_o can_v you_o name_v almost_o that_o be_v more_o uncertain_a than_o this_o life_n and_o so_o soon_o as_o ever_o it_o end_v then_o begin_v his_o distress_n that_o shall_v never_o end_v but_o yet_o let_v he_o not_o be_v too_o confident_a that_o it_o shall_v not_o begin_v before_o many_o a_o man_n have_v feel_v the_o torment_n of_o hell_n on_o this_o side_n the_o grave_n and_o this_o judgement_n have_v commence_v before_o his_o life_n have_v be_v conclude_v some_o man_n sin_n go_v before_o they_o to_o judgement_n say_v the_o apostle_n and_o some_o man_n follow_v after_o 1_o tim._n 5.24_o there_o be_v some_o man_n feel_v the_o vengeance_n of_o a_o righteous_a judge_n even_o in_o this_o life_n spira_n profess_v that_o he_o feel_v the_o consume_a fire_n of_o god_n wrath_n in_o his_o heart_n and_o conscience_n whilst_o he_o be_v alive_a and_o open_o blaspheme_v his_o maker_n wish_v that_o he_o be_v above_o he_o for_o he_o know_v as_o he_o say_v that_o he_o will_v have_v no_o mercy_n on_o he_o o_o sir_n the_o intolerable_a pain_n that_o every_o impenitent_a sinner_n must_v speedy_o undergo_v be_v well_o worth_a the_o pain_n of_o a_o few_o hour_n consideration_n to_o prevent_v and_o if_o you_o think_v it_o not_o so_o you_o may_v spare_v
