thy_o comfort_n thus_o by_o these_o thy_o heavenly_a meditation_n thy_o last_o thought_n be_v so_o fix_v upon_o god_n and_o good_a thing_n before_o thou_o do_v fall_v asleep_a they_o will_v cause_v thou_o to_o lift_v up_o thy_o eye_n to_o the_o lord_n to_o entreat_v he_o to_o take_v protection_n of_o thou_o for_o he_o neither_o slumber_v nor_o sleep_v which_o keep_v israel_n these_o will_v prevent_v vain_a dream_n idle_a fantasy_n and_o prepare_v thy_o soul_n to_o better_a cogitation_n yea_o thus_o gracious_o exercise_v albeit_o thou_o do_v lie_v down_o to_o rise_v again_o in_o the_o morning_n yet_o will_v thou_o so_o rest_v secure_a and_o lie_v down_o without_o fear_n as_o one_o assure_v of_o life_n though_o for_o this_o light_n thou_o behold_v it_o no_o more_o with_o bodily_a eye_n until_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n it_o be_v ever_o therefore_o best_o to_o have_v thy_o mind_n full_a of_o godly_a meditation_n in_o betake_v thyself_o to_o rest_n and_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v amiss_o so_o to_o lie_v down_o as_o think_v no_o more_o to_o rise_v till_o the_o last_o day_n the_o preparation_n to_o death_n do_v not_o any_o whit_n soon_o hasten_v it_o but_o make_v it_o more_o comfortable_a when_o it_o do_v come_v gaius_n bless_a be_v that_o man_n that_o thus_o meditate_v of_o his_o mortality_n happy_a be_v he_o sure_o that_o thus_o prepare_v to_o his_o rest_n undoubted_o he_o shall_v find_v the_o sweet_a fruit_n thereof_o in_o the_o end_n but_o i_o now_o desire_v to_o hear_v of_o some_o godly_a direction_n how_o to_o meditate_v in_o the_o night_n season_n if_o happy_o i_o do_v awake_a but_o i_o think_v i_o hear_v thou_o speak_v of_o prayer_n before_o i_o shall_v go_v to_o my_o bed_n therefore_o as_o it_o have_v please_v thou_o to_o set_v i_o down_o a_o form_n of_o prayer_n for_o the_o morning_n so_o i_o beseech_v thou_o afford_v i_o the_o like_a help_n for_o the_o evening_n john_n it_o be_v indeed_o gaius_n as_o necessary_a to_o praise_n god_n and_o to_o pray_v unto_o he_o in_o the_o evening_n as_o in_o the_o morning_n and_o therefore_o have_v thou_o well_o do_v to_o put_v i_o in_o mind_n hereof_o in_o the_o name_n therefore_o &_o mediation_n of_o christ_n jesus_n thus_o or_o in_o some_o such_o like_a manner_n may_v thou_o make_v thy_o prayer_n unto_o the_o almighty_a honour_n and_o praise_n be_v give_v evening_n a_o prayer_n for_o the_o evening_n to_o thou_o most_o holy_a father_n my_o most_o gracious_a lord_n and_o strong_a protector_n which_o have_v of_o thy_o great_a goodness_n this_o day_n both_o lead_v i_o forth_o safe_o and_o now_o bring_v i_o home_o in_o peace_n this_o have_v be_v thy_o mercy_n whole_o of_o which_o i_o have_v abundant_o taste_v bless_a be_v thy_o name_n therefore_o for_o ever_o and_o for_o ever_o i_o confess_v to_o thy_o praise_n and_o glory_n o_o god_n that_o by_o thy_o light_n i_o have_v walk_v by_o thy_o power_n i_o have_v be_v preserve_v by_o thy_o grace_n prevent_v from_o sin_n which_o i_o heretofore_o and_o this_o day_n past_a so_o also_o the_o rest_n of_o my_o life_n &_o this_o present_a night_n now_o come_v upon_o i_o unclothe_v i_o i_o pray_v thou_o of_o my_o old_a raiment_n of_o unrighteousness_n and_o make_v i_o to_o throw_v away_o all_o my_o unclean_a rag_n of_o filthy_a corruption_n that_o i_o may_v go_v in_o the_o whiteness_n of_o sincerity_n and_o holiness_n unto_o my_o eternal_a rest_n in_o the_o mean_a space_n give_v i_o the_o candle_n light_n of_o the_o truth_n to_o shine_v unto_o i_o in_o this_o dark_a world_n and_o make_v thy_o word_n as_o a_o fire_n to_o heat_n and_o inflame_v my_o affection_n with_o the_o love_n of_o thou_o o_o god_n and_o all_o goodness_n that_o i_o may_v see_v the_o way_n and_o go_v with_o a_o warm_a zeal_n of_o thy_o spirit_n unto_o my_o grave_n and_o see_v i_o come_v naked_a into_o the_o world_n and_o so_o must_v lie_v down_o naked_a bring_v nothing_o neither_o carry_v away_o any_o thing_n oh_o bless_v i_o from_o covetousness_n and_o greedy_a care_n of_o this_o fade_a world_n if_o i_o have_v but_o to_o live_v let_v i_o be_v therewith_o content_v put_v away_o from_o i_o the_o fear_n of_o death_n see_v it_o be_v but_o as_o a_o sleep_n and_o can_v deprive_v i_o of_o life_n yea_o sythen_a i_o be_o mortal_a make_v i_o willing_a to_o go_v unto_o my_o rest_n that_o i_o may_v cease_v to_o sin_n and_o be_v free_v from_o the_o manifold_a tentation_n and_o trouble_n which_o accompany_v we_o here_o that_o although_o my_o body_n lie_v in_o the_o grave_a asleep_a my_o soul_n may_v ascend_v unto_o my_o bless_a saviour_n with_o
