LXXVIII GIve ear O my people to my law encline your ears to the words of my mouth O Ye my people give ye ear unto the law that 's mine And of my mouth unto the words do ye your ears incline 2 I will open my mouth in a parable I will utter dark sayings of old 3 Which we have heard and known and our fathers have told us 2 My mouth shall speak a parable and sayings dark of old 3 Which we have heard and also known and us our fathers told 4 We will not hide them from their children shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord and his strength and his wonderfull works that he hath done 4 We from their race will not them hide Gods praises making known To age to come and al 's his strength and wonders he hath done 5 For he established a testimony in Iacob and appointed a law in Israel which he commanded our fathers that they should make them known to their children 5 In Jacob he a testimonie did fix and set a law In Isra'l and our fathers bad them make their children know 6 That the generation to come might know them even the children which should be born who should arise and declare them to their children 6 That them the generation that was to come might know Sons to be born who should arise and to their sons them show 7 That they might set their hope in God and not forget the works of God but keep his commandements 7 That they in the almighty God their hope might only set And his commandements might keep and not Gods works forget 8 And might not be as their fathers a stubborn rebellious generation a generation that set not their heart aright and whose spirit was not sted fast with God 8 And might not as their fathers be a stubborn rebel race A race in heart not right whose sprit with God not stedfait was 9 The children of Ephraim being armed and carrying bowes turned back in the day of battell 9 Then Ephraims children being arm'd who to them bows did take Did in the day of battell all together turn the back 10 They kept not the covenant of God and refused to walk in his law 11 And forgat his works and his wonders that he had shewed them 10 Gods Covenant they not kept and in his law refusd to go 11 His works and wonders they forgat that he to them did show 12 Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers in the land of Egypt in the field of Zoan 12 Things marvellous he in the sight did of their fathers yeeld Within the bounds of Egypt land within the Zoans field 13. CIII BLesse the Lord O my soul and all that is within me blesse his holy Name 2 Blesse the Lord O my soul and forget not all his benefits BLesse God my soul his holy Name blesse all that is in me 2 Blesse God my soul forget not all his benefites to thee 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities who healeth all thy diseases 3 Who all those thinc iniquities forgiveth graciously Who likewise thy diseases all doth heal most perfectly 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction who crowneth thee with loving kindnesse and tender mercies 4 Who also doth redeem thy life ev'n from destruction Who doth with loving kindnesse thee and tender mercies crown 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things so that thy youth is renued like the eagles 5 Who with abundance of good things doth satisfie thy mouth So that ev'n as the Eagles is renued is thy youth 6 The Lord extcuteth righteousnesse and judgement for all that are oppressed 7 He made known his wayes unto Moses his acts unto the children of Israel 6 For all oppressd God executs both right and judgement so 7 His wayes to Moses he his acts to Israels sons did tho 8 The Lord is mercifull and gracious slow to anger and plenteous in mercy 8 The Lord is very mercifull and he is gracious He is al 's unto anger slow in mercy plenteous 9 He will not always chidâ—… neither will be keep his anger for ever 10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to

CVII O Give thanks unto the Lord for he is good for his mercy endureth for ever 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy THank God for he is good for ay his mercy during stands 2 Let Gods redeem'd say so whom he redeem'd from th' enemies hands 3 And gathered them out of the lands from the east and from the west from the north and from the south 3 And give praise for his goodnesse then And for his works so wonderfull unto the sons of men 16 For he hath broken the gates of brasse and â—…ut the bars of iron in sunder 16 For he the gates that were of brasse hath broken and withall The barres that were of yron strong he cut in sunder all 17 Fools because of their transgression and because of their iniquities are afflicted 18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of mean and they draw neer unto the gates of death 17 For their transgression and their sine fools are afflicted heer 18 All manner of meats their soul abhors they to deaths gates draw near 19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble he saveth them out of their distresses 19 Theâ—… in the time they troubled are they to the Lord do cry And out of their distresses them he saveth by and by 20 He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions 20 Unto them he did send his word and heal'd them altogether And he from their destructions did also them diliver 21 O great the works of his declare 23 They that go down to the sea in ships and do businesse in great waters 24 These see the works of the Lord and his wonders in the deep 23 Who in great waters businesse do and go in ships to sea 24 Within the deep those of the Lord the works and wonders see 25 For he commandeth and raiseth the stormy wind which lifteth up the waves thereof 25 For he commandement doth give and stormy wind doth raise Which lifteth up with violence thereof the raging waves 26 They mount up to the heaven they go down again to the depths their soul is melted because of trouble 26 They to the heaven do mount up to depths go down again Their soul within them melted is because of trouble then 27 They reel to and fro and stagger like a drunken man and are at their wits end 28 Then they crie unto the Lord in their trouble and he bringeth them out of their distresses 27 Like to one drunk reel stagger they at their wits end they be 28 Then they in trouble cry to God them from distresse brings he 29 He maketh the storm a calm so that the waves thereof are still 29 The raging storm to be a calm â—…he maketh at his will So that the waves thereof are made for to be alwayes still 30 Then are they glad because they be quiet so he bringeth them unto their desired haven 30 Then are they all made to be glade because they quiet be So unto their desired hav'n them safely bringeth hee 31 O unto the sons of men 32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people and praise him in the assembly of the Elders 32 In peoples congregation al 's let them exalt him farre And in assembly
