yet_o we_o may_v observe_v how_o dangerous_a a_o thing_n this_o late_a repentance_n be_v for_o though_o peter_n no_o doubt_n have_v often_o say_v with_o david_n wash_v i_o thorough_o from_o my_o sin_n yet_o when_o it_o grow_v 51.2_o so_o late_o before_o christ_n come_v to_o wash_v he_o indeed_o he_o will_v have_v put_v it_o off_o if_o christ_n have_v not_o put_v he_o on_o with_o a_o extraordinary_a motion_n but_o may_v we_o not_o seem_v here_o to_o be_v at_o a_o stand_n for_o here_o be_v many_o petition_n but_o we_o can_v see_v none_o of_o ask_v for_o faith_n as_o christ_n pray_v for_o peter_n that_o his_o faith_n may_v not_o fail_v and_o the_o apostle_n 22.32_o pray_v o_o lord_n increase_v our_o faith_n and_o be_v it_o not_o strange_a that_o in_o this_o principal_a prayer_n we_o shall_v not_o pray_v for_o that_o which_o be_v the_o principal_a that_o all_o our_o petition_n shall_v be_v for_o work_n and_o none_o of_o they_o for_o faith_n be_v it_o for_o some_o such_o reason_n as_o moses_n have_v who_o describe_v the_o creation_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o make_n of_o all_o creature_n yet_o speak_v nothing_o of_o the_o make_n of_o angel_n though_o of_o all_o creature_n the_o principal_a or_o be_v it_o that_o christ_n make_v this_o a_o prayer_n not_o a_o catechism_n 11.6_o and_o a_o prayer_n for_o the_o faithful_a not_o for_o infidel_n for_o he_o that_o come_v to_o god_n must_v believe_v that_o god_n be_v and_o that_o he_o be_v a_o rewarder_n of_o they_o that_o seek_v he_o or_o be_v it_o that_o we_o can_v pray_v for_o faith_n but_o it_o must_v be_v needs_o either_o without_o cause_n or_o without_o effect_n and_o so_o be_v either_o needless_a or_o fruitless_a for_o if_o we_o have_v fauth_n already_o it_o be_v needless_a to_o ask_v it_o and_o if_o we_o have_v it_o not_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o ask_v it_o see_v what_o we_o ask_v not_o in_o faith_n st._n james_n tell_v we_o we_o shall_v not_o obtain_v and_o if_o we_o ask_v it_o in_o faith_n we_o then_o have_v faith_n to_o ask_v it_o before_o we_o ask_v it_o but_o will_v it_o not_o be_v better_a not_o to_o look_v out_o reason_n why_o we_o do_v not_o ask_v it_o but_o rather_o to_o show_v reason_n that_o we_o do_v ask_v it_o and_o ask_v it_o we_o do_v indeed_o not_o verbal_o but_o real_o for_o do_v we_o not_o pray_v for_o faith_n when_o we_o pray_v for_o the_o hallow_n of_o that_o which_o can_v be_v hallow_v but_o by_o the_o tongue_n of_o faith_n the_o name_n of_o god_n do_v we_o not_o pray_v for_o faith_n when_o we_o pray_v for_o the_o come_n of_o that_o which_o can_v come_v but_o upon_o the_o foot_n of_o faith_n the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n do_v we_o not_o pray_v for_o faith_n when_o we_o pray_v for_o the_o do_v of_o that_o which_o can_v be_v do_v but_o by_o the_o strength_n of_o faith_n the_o will_v of_o god_n do_v we_o not_o pray_v for_o faith_n when_o we_o pray_v for_o the_o have_v of_o that_o which_o can_v be_v have_v but_o by_o the_o hand_n of_o faith_n forgiveness_n of_o our_o fin_n certain_o see_v we_o pray_v for_o the_o cause_n and_o the_o effect_n for_o the_o root_n and_o the_o fruit_n of_o faith_n it_o be_v not_o the_o want_n of_o name_v faith_n that_o can_v be_v a_o reason_n to_o make_v we_o doubt_v that_o we_o pray_v not_o for_o faith_n no_o more_o than_o the_o want_n of_o name_v christ_n in_o this_o prayer_n be_v any_o reason_n to_o prove_v that_o we_o pray_v not_o here_o in_o the_o name_n of_o christ._n it_o be_v proper_a to_o this_o petition_n that_o where_o all_o the_o other_o be_v absolute_a this_o only_a be_v conditional_a and_o where_o the_o other_o be_v only_o contemplative_a this_o be_v both_o contemplative_a and_o active_a for_o it_o be_v to_o be_v do_v as_o well_o as_o to_o be_v lay_v and_o where_o all_o the_o other_o petition_n look_v god_n in_o the_o face_n and_o expect_v to_o receive_v something_o at_o his_o hand_n this_o only_a with_o the_o publican_n presume_v not_o to_o look_v up_o to_o heaven_n neither_o aspire_v to_o taste_v of_o god_n bounty_n but_o only_o of_o his_o mercy_n and_o yet_o as_o deject_v as_o it_o seem_v it_o have_v great_a spirit_n at_o least_o speak_v great_a word_n than_o all_o the_o rest_n for_o where_o the_o other_o do_v but_o only_o sue_v for_o grace_n to_o be_v enable_v to_o do_v good_a work_n this_o undertake_v to_o do_v good_a work_n at_o its_o own_o peril_n and_o where_o the_o other_o expect_v god_n
