pray_v not_o intend_v or_o include_v any_o other_o in_o it_o answ_n the_o petition_n seem_v to_o intend_v that_o we_o pray_v for_o the_o hallow_n of_o god_n name_n as_o well_o by_o and_o among_o other_o as_o by_o ourselves_o though_o principal_o by_o ourselves_o otherwise_o we_o shall_v not_o express_v by_o it_o any_o true_a love_n or_o affection_n unto_o god_n nor_o any_o sincere_a desire_n to_o have_v his_o name_n hallow_v but_o a_o desire_n only_o of_o our_o own_o benefit_n by_o our_o hallow_n it_o for_o if_o we_o desire_v the_o hallow_n of_o god_n name_n simple_o or_o out_o of_o any_o naturalnesse_n of_o love_n to_o he_o or_o any_o otherwise_o then_o with_o respect_n unto_o ourselves_o or_o our_o own_o profit_n we_o must_v desire_v and_o pray_v that_o it_o may_v be_v hallow_v far_o and_o near_o by_z and_o among_o all_o the_o nation_n of_o the_o earth_n as_o well_o as_o by_o ourselves_o the_o benefit_n that_o will_v redound_v unto_o we_o by_o have_v out_o petition_v grant_v we_o in_o this_o sense_n of_o it_o over_z and_z beside_o what_o we_o shall_v be_v advantage_v by_o our_o own_o personal_a hallow_v the_o name_n of_o god_n must_v needs_o be_v exceed_v great_a as_o namely_o the_o reducement_n of_o the_o world_n to_o a_o more_o desirable_a state_n and_o condition_n unto_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o it_o by_o chase_v away_o those_o pest_n of_o the_o peace_n and_o comfort_n of_o man_n on_o the_o earth_n covetousnese_n oppression_n fraud_n envy_n malice_n cruelty_n unmercifulnesse_n contention_n drunkenness_n uncleanness_n with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o troublesome_a retinue_n of_o ignorance_n and_o propainesse_n for_o where_o the_o name_n
or_o get_v by_o heart_n all_o they_o deliver_v in_o teach_v although_o this_o latter_a be_v no_o mean_n to_o prevent_v the_o inconvenience_n we_o speak_v of_o because_o man_n be_v like_a to_o be_v as_o erroneous_a in_o pen_v as_o in_o preach_v it_o be_v no_o way_n of_o god_n nor_o justifiable_a in_o reason_n either_o to_o counsel_n or_o constrain_v any_o man_n to_o bury_v that_o talon_n of_o preach_v which_o god_n have_v give_v he_o in_o the_o earth_n and_o to_o serve_v god_n and_o his_o church_n only_o with_o read_v what_o other_o man_n have_v write_v though_o with_o approbation_n to_o prevent_v the_o evil_a and_o danger_n of_o be_v heterodox_n in_o his_o doctrine_n in_o case_n he_o shall_v make_v use_n of_o his_o own_o proper_a gift_n for_o the_o raise_n handle_v and_o order_v of_o it_o there_o be_v better_a and_o more_o christian_a remedy_n against_o both_o the_o inconvenience_n mention_v both_o that_o incident_a unto_o pray_v and_o that_o incident_a unto_o preach_v likewise_o by_o a_o personal_a private_a and_o appropriate_a gift_n better_a i_o say_v than_o those_o that_o have_v be_v argue_v against_o the_o truth_n be_v that_o these_o as_o the_o common_a say_n be_v be_v remedy_n worse_o than_o the_o disease_n quest_n 17._o be_v there_o any_o degree_n in_o god_n acceptance_n of_o prayer_n so_o that_o for_o example_n though_o one_o prayer_n find_v favour_n in_o his_o sight_n and_o be_v well_o accept_v with_o he_o yet_o another_o may_v please_v he_o more_o and_o obtain_v more_o grace_n and_o high_a acceptation_n with_o he_o answ_n we_o common_o estimate_v and_o measure_n god_n acceptance_n of_o prayer_n by_o his_o grant_v the_o thing_n desire_v of_o he_o herein_o though_o i_o do_v not_o conceive_v this_o rule_n to_o be_v universal_o true_a or_o that_o the_o apostle_n paul_n his_o prayer_n that_o the_o messenger_n of_o satan_n send_v to_o buffet_v he_o may_v be_v cause_v to_o depart_v from_o he_o be_v not_o accept_v with_o god_n because_o it_o be_v not_o grant_v 2_o cor._n 12.8_o 9_o or_o that_o it_o be_v less_o accept_v than_o many_o other_o that_o be_v granred_n but_o as_o far_o as_o this_o rule_n carry_v truth_n in_o it_o it_o be_v plain_a that_o there_o be_v degree_n in_o god_n acceptation_n of_o prayer_n and_o that_o such_o a_o prayer_n which_o may_v prevail_v with_o he_o to_o the_o obtain_n of_o lesser_a and_o more_o common_a mercy_n or_o favour_n yet_o will_v not_o prevail_v to_o the_o obtain_n of_o great_a or_o more_o signal_n vouchsafement_n although_o these_o also_o may_v be_v obtain_v by_o another_o prayer_n which_o be_v of_o choic_a and_o high_a acceptance_n with_o he_o quest_n 18._o how_o can_v you_o make_v this_o to_o appear_v answ_n when_o the_o apostle_n james_n say_v that_o the_o fervent_a or_o effectual_a fervent_a as_o our_o last_o translation_n render_v the_o word_n prayer_n of_o the_o righteous_a avail_v much_o jam._n 5.16_o he_o clear_o suppose_v that_o the_o prayer_n of_o such_o a_o person_n a_o righteous_a
