be_v marvelous_a great_a presumption_n in_o we_o to_o come_v unto_o god_n without_o we_o have_v his_o promise_n for_o it_o and_o to_o desire_v of_o he_o any_o thing_n and_o say_v o_o lord_n i_o have_v need_n of_o this_o and_o that_o go_v to_o now_o here_o be_v already_o some_o occasion_n which_o cause_v we_o to_o come_v unto_o god_n and_o again_o o_o lord_n thou_o be_v good_a and_o gracious_a lo_o this_o be_v a_o other_o thing_n also_o which_o augment_v our_o courage_n and_o boldness_n but_o because_o we_o be_v so_o far_o from_o god_n that_o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o come_v near_o his_o majesty_n without_o he_o come_v down_o unto_o we_o we_o must_v then_o before_o we_o can_v have_v any_o access_n to_o make_v our_o prayer_n unto_o he_o lay_v this_o foundation_n which_o be_v here_o set_v before_o we_o that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o word_n of_o god_n when_o as_o thereby_o god_n witness_v unto_o we_o that_o his_o mercy_n be_v always_o ready_a that_o he_o there_o lay_v it_o before_o we_o and_o offer_v the_o same_o there_o unto_o us._n there_o remain_v now_o nothing_o else_o but_o that_o we_o receive_v it_o by_o faith_n and_o that_o there_o we_o declare_v our_o faith_n through_o our_o call_n upon_o he_o so_o then_o we_o see_v the_o order_n which_o david_n here_o set_v down_o that_o be_v that_o he_o bring_v we_o to_o god_n to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v take_v our_o whole_a contentation_n repose_n and_o rejoice_v in_o his_o mere_a goodness_n and_o since_o that_o he_o have_v receive_v we_o through_o his_o mercy_n let_v we_o beseech_v he_o that_o he_o will_v look_v unto_o we_o with_o his_o eye_n of_o pity_n for_o the_o three_o point_n he_o show_v we_o how_o we_o ought_v to_o make_v such_o our_o petition_n that_o be_v because_o god_n have_v bind_v himself_o unto_o we_o of_o his_o own_o good_a will_n and_o have_v witness_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o will_v be_v near_o us._n when_o then_o we_o shall_v come_v unto_o he_o in_o this_o sort_n let_v we_o not_o doubt_v but_o say_v thus_o but_o this_o be_v the_o doctrine_n which_o they_o teach_v in_o all_o their_o satanical_a and_o devilish_a school_n and_o synagogue_n loe_o here_o the_o very_a doctrine_n of_o popish_a doctor_n that_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n be_v uncertain_a &_o that_o we_o must_v receive_v they_o as_o thing_n hang_v in_o the_o air_n not_o to_o take_v they_o general_o to_o say_v i_o doubt_v not_o but_o that_o god_n speak_v the_o same_o unto_o i_o but_o contrariwise_o we_o must_v conclude_v as_o david_n here_o do_v and_o o_o lord_n let_v it_o be_v do_v unto_o thy_o servant_n according_a to_o thy_o word_n he_o say_v not_o according_a to_o thy_o word_n i_o know_v not_o to_o who_o nor_o unto_o such_o man_n of_o which_o number_n i_o be_o not_o so_o that_o i_o can_v not_o build_v upon_o it_o but_o he_o say_v according_a to_o thy_o promise_n o_o lord_n make_v unto_o i_o let_v we_o then_o learn_v by_o his_o example_n that_o when_o we_o desire_v the_o lord_n god_n to_o assist_v we_o to_o charge_v he_o with_o his_o promise_n yea_o &_o let_v we_o apply_v they_o unto_o ourselves_o and_o believe_v that_o they_o be_v also_o speak_v to_o every_o of_o we_o in_o particular_a and_o general_o will_v not_o come_v unto_o he_o but_o only_o because_o we_o think_v that_o god_n have_v estrange_v himself_o from_o we_o and_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v thereby_o confound_v it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o he_o will_v sometime_o cause_v we_o to_o feel_v they_o as_o if_o he_o have_v clean_o turn_v himself_o away_o from_o we_o and_o all_o because_o we_o first_o forsake_v he_o but_o yet_o we_o must_v notwithstanding_o return_v unto_o he_o and_o not_o be_v discourage_v but_o follow_v the_o example_n of_o david_n that_o although_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n to_o the_o outward_a appearance_n and_o in_o our_o judgement_n be_v far_o from_o we_o and_o in_o such_o sort_n as_o that_o we_o may_v well_o perceive_v it_o yet_o must_v we_o never_o cease_v to_o say_v o_o lord_n let_v thy_o love_a mercy_n come_v unto_o i_o sure_o to_o the_o outrward_a show_n &_o so_o far_o as_o i_o can_v judge_v they_o be_v far_o of_o i_o but_o yet_o o_o lord_n i_o know_v that_o thou_o will_v in_o the_o end_n make_v i_o to_o attain_v unto_o they_o yea_o and_o although_o thou_o manifest_o show_v i_o they_o not_o yet_o notwithstanding_o i_o will_v wait_v and_o sure_o look_v for_o they_o with_o a_o assure_a faith_n and_o hope_n moreover_o when_o he_o say_v that_o i_o may_v live_v that_o be_v to_o signify_v unto_o we_o the_o same_o which_o i_o have_v already_o say_v to_o wit_n that_o although_o his_o wit_n and_o spirit_n stay_v itself_o upon_o creature_n yet_o that_o he_o be_v but_o as_o a_o dead_a man_n &_o while_o he_o think_v god_n not_o to_o be_v near_o he_o he_o suppose_v himself_o to_o be_v but_o as_o a_o forlorn_a man_n and_o in_o deed_n although_o we_o have_v all_o the_o world_n on_o our_o side_n and_o have_v god_n against_o we_o and_o be_v sure_a that_o he_o neither_o love_v nor_o favour_v we_o all_o the_o rest_n will_v turn_v but_o to_o our_o ruin_n and_o destruction_n and_o if_o we_o esteem_v not_o thus_o of_o he_o must_v it_o not_o needs_o be_v but_o that_o we_o must_v be_v bewitch_v by_o satan_n and_o carry_v violent_o away_o when_o we_o shall_v content_v we_o only_o with_o these_o worldly_a thing_n and_o never_o have_v regard_n unto_o the_o spring_n head_n and_o fountain_n of_o all_o goodness_n to_o wit_n the_o bounty_n of_o god_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n let_v we_o note_v this_o that_o although_o we_o be_v dead_a for_o a_o time_n after_o the_o example_n of_o david_n yet_o shall_v we_o be_v quicken_v so_o that_o we_o come_v to_o god_n beseech_v he_o not_o to_o hold_v back_o his_o mercy_n far_o from_o us._n now_o he_o say_v in_o the_o end_n for_o thy_o law_n be_v my_o delight_n by_o this_o we_o be_v admonish_v what_o it_o be_v that_o we_o must_v crave_v at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n in_o good_a earnest_n forsooth_o that_o his_o mercy_n may_v remain_v with_o we_o

right_a before_o they_o and_o against_o they_o to_o beat_v they_o back_o and_o to_o bear_v their_o blow_n all_o this_o do_v i_o confess_v o_o lord_n but_o yet_o i_o you_o not_o this_o after_o a_o visible_a &_o worldly_a manner_n how_o then_o it_o be_v because_o thy_o commandment_n be_v true_a david_n then_o know_v that_o god_n be_v near_o unto_o he_o because_o he_o settle_v himself_o upon_o the_o law_n and_o the_o promise_n which_o be_v give_v he_o and_o even_o so_o must_v we_o do_v although_o it_o seem_v very_o hard_a as_o we_o have_v already_o touch_v it_o follow_v i_o have_v know_v long_o since_o by_o testimony_n that_o thou_o have_v ground_v they_o for_o ever_o in_o this_o latter_a verse_n for_o a_o conclusion_n david_n say_v that_o he_o be_v not_o like_o a_o novice_n to_o be_v now_o too_o learn_v to_o know_v what_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n be_v but_o he_o be_v resolute_a that_o god_n be_v near_o he_o because_o he_o have_v his_o word_n from_o which_o he_o can_v not_o start_v he_o show_v then_o that_o the_o faithful_a ought_v not_o too_o be_v as_o it_o be_v in_o their_o a._n b._n c._n but_o must_v be_v long_a time_n exercise_v as_o david_n protest_v of_o himself_o i_o have_v know_v they_o say_v he_o long_o since_o now_o here_o he_o set_v down_o a_o word_n which_o signify_v continuance_n from_o the_o beginning_n have_v i_o know_v say_v he_o long_o since_o thy_o commandment_n which_o thou_o haste_v ground_v for_o ever_o so_o then_o let_v we_o learn_v that_o if_o we_o will_v bold_o strive_v against_o all_o the_o assault_n wherewith_o we_o may_v be_v assail_v we_o must_v continue_v in_o this_o knowledge_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o we_o shall_v always_o find_v he_o ready_a to_o be_v near-hand_o we_o so_o that_o we_o may_v be_v sure_a of_o his_o protection_n not_o for_o a_o day_n only_o but_o all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n and_o so_o let_v we_o thorough_o record_n this_o lesson_n to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v say_v with_o david_n that_o we_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o god_n so_o deep_o imprint_v in_o our_o heart_n as_o that_o we_o have_v long_o time_n since_o know_v what_o be_v already_o in_o they_o too_o wit_n that_o god_n have_v establish_v they_o that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o although_o we_o shall_v see_v a_o great_a number_n of_o change_n in_o this_o world_n that_o all_o thing_n be_v change_v and_o turn_v yet_o that_o god_n be_v no_o chaungeling_n that_o he_o never_o alter_v his_o mind_n that_o his_o word_n be_v as_o it_o be_v from_o the_o beginning_n and_o as_o it_o shall_v continue_v for_o ever_o that_o it_o shall_v never_o be_v subject_a to_o all_o the_o turn_n and_o change_n of_o this_o world_n but_o shall_v ever_o abide_v in_o his_o full_a strength_n and_o virtue_n because_o that_o god_n have_v establish_v it_o for_o ever_o and_o this_o be_v even_o so_o as_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v prepapare_v to_o call_v upon_o god_n to_o wit_n when_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v settle_v upon_o the_o true_a confidence_n of_o his_o promise_n that_o we_o shall_v have_v know_v the_o everlasting_a power_n &_o strength_n which_o he_o have_v give_v to_o his_o word_n that_o be_v that_o he_o will_v remain_v always_o like_a unto_o himself_o when_o i_o say_v we_o shall_v have_v know_v this_o we_o may_v bold_o come_v and_o present_v ourselves_o before_o he_o be_v assure_v that_o he_o will_v make_v we_o feel_v by_o proof_n that_o which_o he_o promise_v we_o so_o oftentimes_o as_o we_o shall_v have_v recourse_n unto_o he_o trust_v herein_o that_o he_o have_v render_v unto_o we_o a_o testimony_n of_o the_o love_n which_o he_o bear_v us._n now_o let_v we_o prostrate_v ourselves_o before_o the_o majesty_n of_o our_o good_a god_n and_o father_n in_o acknowledge_v our_o innumerable_a offence_n which_o we_o daily_o commit_v against_o he_o beseech_v he_o that_o he_o will_v so_o touch_v we_o as_o that_o in_o steed_n that_o we_o have_v be_v over_o much_o give_v to_o our_o fleshly_a affection_n and_o sometime_o of_o the_o body_n and_o otherwhiles_o of_o the_o soul_n and_o therefore_o for_o this_o cause_n must_v we_o arm_v ourselves_o to_o the_o end_n we_o be_v not_o overcome_v in_o the_o midst_n man_n do_v that_o which_o best_o like_v themselves_o they_o straightways_o think_v all_o thing_n shall_v go_v so_o well_o with_o they_o as_o be_v possible_a to_o be_v wish_v glory_v in_o their_o own_o vain_a imagination_n but_o what_o follow_v thereof_o god_n confound_v they_o in_o their_o own_o arrogancy_n wherewith_o they_o be_v puff_v up_o for_o a_o time_n will_v we_o eschew_v this_o confusion_n of_o the_o unbelieve_a person_n let_v we_o have_v a_o eye_n to_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n to_o wit_n let_v our_o eye_n be_v settle_v on_o they_o and_o look_v not_o on_o our_o own_o reason_n nor_o of_o our_o natural_a sense_n neither_o yet_o of_o any_o other_o thing_n that_o lie_v in_o our_o own_o power_n which_o may_v turn_v we_o away_o from_o they_o and_o it_o be_v a_o necessary_a point_n for_o we_o to_o be_v enfourm_v thereof_o for_o as_o often_o as_o man_n will_v give_v themselves_o leave_v to_o imagine_v and_o think_v what_o they_o listen_v to_o have_v do_v there_o shall_v a_o thousand_o thought_n for_o close_a their_o mind_n and_o so_o will_v turn_v they_o away_o from_o god_n and_o whole_o estrange_v they_o from_o the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n david_n declare_v that_o there_o be_v but_o one_o only_a mean_a to_o wit_n that_o we_o shall_v whole_o settle_v our_o eye_n upon_o the_o law_n of_o god_n without_o turn_v away_o from_o it_o either_o on_o this_o side_n or_o on_o that_o as_o common_o and_o usual_o we_o do_v afterward_o he_o go_v on_o and_o say_v i_o will_v praise_v thou_o with_o a_o upright_o heart_n when_o i_o shall_v learn_v the_o judgement_n of_o thy_o righteousness_n david_n show_v in_o this_o verse_n how_o we_o may_v praise_v the_o lord_n our_o god_n and_o that_o be_v continual_o follow_v the_o plainness_n of_o his_o matter_n for_o we_o must_v all_o confess_v that_o our_o life_n be_v miserable_a if_o it_o tend_v not_o to_o the_o praise_n and_o glorify_v of_o god_n let_v we_o now_o see_v how_o we_o may_v praise_v he_o we_o must_v be_v exercise_v in_o his_o judgement_n that_o be_v in_o the_o rule_n which_o he_o have_v set_v down_o unto_o us._n for_o this_o word_n judgement_n import_v that_o we_o be_v teach_v and_o instruct_v of_o that_o which_o we_o have_v to_o do_v for_o our_o life_n be_v outrageous_a if_o we_o pass_v the_o limit_n and_o bound_n which_o he_o have_v appoint_v we_o and_o contrariwyse_o we_o keep_v a_o true_a uprightness_n in_o obey_v of_o he_o now_o than_o he_o say_v that_o when_o he_o shall_v have_v learn_v the_o righteous_a judgement_n of_o god_n that_o then_o he_o will_v thank_v he_o with_o a_o unfeigned_a heart_n by_o this_o he_o signify_v unto_o we_o that_o although_o man_n persuade_v themselves_o to_o love_n god_n as_o much_o as_o be_v possible_a nevertheless_o that_o it_o be_v but_o feign_a until_o such_o time_n as_o they_o be_v unfeigned_o instruct_v in_o the_o law_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o that_o moreover_o here_o be_v to_o be_v note_v that_o that_o be_v not_o all_o which_o we_o have_v learn_v that_o god_n show_v unto_o we_o in_o his_o word_n but_o david_n speak_v here_o of_o a_o instruction_n which_o take_v root_n and_o be_v settle_v and_o abide_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o man_n according_a to_o that_o which_o have_v heretofore_o be_v say_v for_o a_o number_n may_v imagine_v of_o their_o own_o brain_n what_o the_o law_n of_o god_n be_v but_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o it_o stand_v so_o with_o they_o that_o when_o we_o behold_v their_o life_n and_o conversation_n it_o appear_v that_o they_o have_v profit_v no_o whit_n at_o all_o in_o his_o school_n it_o be_v meet_v therefore_o that_o out_o heart_n be_v bring_v to_o the_o school_n of_o god_n to_o weet_v that_o whatsoever_o he_o teach_v we_o it_o may_v be_v thorough_o imprint_v and_o engrave_v within_o and_o this_o be_v that_o manner_n of_o learning_n whereof_o david_n here_o speak_v for_o if_o we_o have_v be_v exercise_v in_o this_o sort_n that_o we_o have_v hold_v the_o doctrine_n and_o law_n of_o god_n we_o may_v very_o well_o glorify_v his_o bless_a name_n to_o weet_v we_o may_v true_o praise_v he_o as_o he_o have_v command_v us._n when_o he_o say_v i_o will_v keep_v thy_o statute_n that_o be_v that_o he_o be_v so_o resolve_a and_o confirm_v in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o law_n that_o he_o have_v overcome_v all_o the_o affection_n and_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o the_o world_n which_o may_v resist_v and_o hinder_v he_o in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n he_o have_v say_v before_o o_o that_o my_o way_n be_v make_v so_o direct_a he_o desire_v as_o a_o man_n which_o when_o he_o can_v have_v that_o which_o he_o wish_v for_o be_v in_o great_a pain_n and_o travel_v it_o behove_v we_o also_o to_o pour_v out_o such_o sigh_n &_o groan_n consider_v the_o rebellion_n of_o our_o flesh_n which_o be_v so_o contrary_a to_o the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n that_o all_o our_o thought_n and_o affection_n as_o be_v abovesaid_a be_v so_o many_o gainesayinge_n that_o they_o turn_v we_o clean_o away_o from_o his_o obeisance_n we_o must_v therefore_o say_v
and_o so_o fat_v even_o so_o fare_v it_o with_o these_o curse_a contemner_n of_o god_n which_o have_v no_o regard_n unto_o everlasting_a life_n but_o be_v whole_o give_v up_o too_o their_o god_n the_o belly_n they_o wallow_v themselves_o in_o their_o own_o grease_n as_o a_o swine_n which_o have_v his_o groin_n always_o in_o the_o trough_n now_o contrariwise_o david_n say_v that_o all_o his_o delight_n have_v be_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n whereby_o he_o do_v we_o to_o wit_n that_o although_o god_n have_v make_v he_o fat_a yet_o that_o he_o wallow_v not_o for_o all_o that_o in_o his_o own_o grease_n but_o delight_v in_o that_o spiritual_a gift_n which_o be_v give_v he_o because_o that_o god_n have_v teach_v it_o he_o in_o his_o school_n loe_o than_o what_o we_o have_v to_o gather_v out_o of_o this_o place_n that_o although_o we_o see_v the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o world_n contemn_v god_n yet_o must_v we_o not_o be_v abash_v thereat_o and_o why_o so_o let_v we_o well_o consider_v wherein_o man_n do_v put_v their_o chief_a felicity_n and_o we_o shall_v find_v they_o too_o be_v like_a unto_o ox_n and_o swine_n desire_v naught_o but_o to_o live_v here_o in_o this_o world_n without_o look_v any_o far_o now_o we_o must_v have_v a_o far_a regard_n if_o we_o will_v serve_v god_n as_o too_o he_o appertain_v to_o wit_n that_o we_o take_v such_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o we_o be_v no_o more_o give_v too_o the_o world_n as_o we_o be_v overmuch_o and_o although_o god_n give_v we_o abundance_n yet_o that_o we_o have_v our_o ease_n and_o commodity_n in_o this_o world_n let_v we_o not_o settle_v our_o mind_n on_o they_o but_o know_v that_o all_o these_o be_v but_o petty_a small_a mean_n and_o necessarye_n but_o let_v we_o labour_n to_o go_v too_o the_o principal_a and_o acknowledge_v he_o too_o be_v our_o father_n and_o saviour_n and_o when_o we_o know_v he_o too_o be_v so_o then_o let_v we_o climb_v up_o unto_o he_o and_o too_o that_o everlasting_a life_n whereunto_o he_o invyte_v and_o call_v us._n loe_o i_o say_v what_o we_o have_v here_o too_o retain_v moreover_o if_o god_n tame_v we_o by_o affliction_n let_v we_o come_v to_o that_o which_o david_n add_v to_o wit_n that_o it_o be_v good_a for_o he_o that_o he_o have_v be_v in_o trouble_n although_o then_o that_o god_n pull_v back_o his_o hand_n and_o that_o in_o stead_n of_o gentle_o entreat_v we_o he_o handle_v we_o rough_o in_o stead_n of_o send_v we_o plenty_n of_o wealth_n he_o cause_v we_o to_o suffer_v hunger_n and_o thirst_n in_o stead_n of_o give_v we_o health_n he_o greeve_v we_o with_o disease_n that_o be_v vex_v with_o many_o anguish_v and_o torment_n so_o that_o we_o know_v not_o what_o too_o do_v yet_o must_v we_o always_o look_v to_o the_o end_n to_o be_v comfort_v with_o david_n in_o say_v it_o be_v a_o good_a turn_n for_o i_o o_o lord_n that_o i_o have_v be_v in_o trouble_n that_o i_o may_v learn_v thy_o statute_n now_o since_o it_o have_v so_o fall_v out_o that_o david_n be_v afflict_v to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v be_v the_o better_o dispose_v too_o learn_v the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o which_o be_v full_a of_o worldly_a vanity_n let_v we_o then_o know_v that_o we_o have_v need_v to_o be_v correct_v by_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o to_o be_v tie_v short_a if_o we_o will_v profit_v in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n loe_o then_o how_o we_o must_v practise_v the_o admonition_n of_o david_n and_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v so_o do_v we_o may_v conclude_v and_o say_v with_o that_o which_o be_v set_v down_o in_o the_o last_o verse_n to_o wit_n that_o the_o law_n of_o god_n be_v more_o dear_a unto_o we_o then_o gold_n or_o silver_n and_o this_o be_v it_o that_o we_o must_v do_v in_o this_o point_n we_o must_v esteem_v and_o make_v much_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o it_o be_v worthy_a and_o not_o to_o stay_v ourselves_o on_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n but_o to_o look_v always_o far_o off_o to_o wit_n unto_o heaven_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v have_v profit_v ourselves_o thus_o by_o the_o affliction_n which_o god_n shall_v send_v we_o he_o will_v bestow_v his_o grace_n upon_o we_o by_o little_a &_o little_a that_o we_o shall_v so_o esteem_v of_o his_o word_n as_o that_o we_o shall_v whole_o stick_v to_o it_o and_o let_v we_o beseech_v he_o that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o too_o despoil_v we_o of_o all_o our_o wicked_a fleshly_a desire_n and_o affection_n &_o to_o cause_v we_o to_o crave_v none_o other_o thing_n but_o that_o he_o will_v reign_v and_o live_v in_o us._n according_a too_o this_o holy_a doctrine_n let_v we_o prostrate_v ourselves_o before_o the_o majesty_n of_o our_o good_a god_n in_o acknowledge_v our_o offence_n beseech_v he_o that_o it_o will_v please_v bim_n too_o take_v from_o we_o the_o wicked_a affection_n which_o may_v turn_v we_o away_o from_o he_o and_o from_o his_o service_n and_o that_o we_o may_v forget_v all_o whatsoever_o may_v turn_v we_o from_o the_o right_a way_n of_o salvation_n that_o we_o desire_v nothing_o but_o that_o we_o may_v attain_v too_o that_o everlasting_a life_n which_o we_o look_v for_o in_o heaven_n that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o not_o too_o suffer_v we_o to_o live_v here_o like_o brute_n beast_n not_o know_v to_o what_o end_n we_o be_v create_v in_o this_o world_n but_o that_o we_o may_v acknowledge_v he_o to_o be_v our_o creator_n our_o father_n and_o saviour_n that_o we_o may_v subject_v ourselves_o unto_o he_o as_o his_o creature_n and_o obey_v he_o as_o true_a and_o faithful_a child_n until_o such_o time_n as_o he_o shall_v take_v we_o out_o of_o this_o world_n to_o make_v we_o partaker_n of_o that_o everlasting_a bliss_n &_o immortal_a inheritance_n which_o he_o have_v prepare_v in_o heaven_n and_o which_o be_v purchase_v for_o we_o by_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n that_o he_o will_v not_o only_o grant_v we_o this_o grace_n but_o also_o unto_o all_o people_n and_o nation_n in_o the_o world_n etc._n etc._n the_o ten_o sermon_n of_o the_o hundred_o and_o nineteenth_o psalm_n jod_n thy_o hand_n have_v make_v and_o fashion_v i_o o_o give_v i_o therefore_o understand_v that_o i_o may_v learn_v thy_o commandment_n so_o they_o that_o fear_v thou_o when_o they_o see_v i_o shall_v rejoice_v because_o i_o have_v put_v my_o trust_n in_o thy_o word_n i_o know_v o_o lord_n that_o thy_o judgemente_n be_v right_a and_o that_o thou_o have_v afffict_v i_o just_o i_o pray_v thou_o that_o thy_o mercy_n may_v comfort_v i_o according_a to_o thy_o unto_o you_o for_o there_o be_v as_o great_a distance_n between_o my_o thought_n and_o you_o as_o be_v between_o heaven_n and_o earth_n let_v we_o then_o measure_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n after_o our_o vain_a imagination_n but_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v let_v we_o know_v that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o vain_a which_o he_o declare_v and_o testify_v unto_o we_o that_o the_o good_a will_n and_o love_n which_o he_o bear_v we_o be_v infinite_a thing_n which_o we_o must_v behold_v by_o faith_n only_o and_o it_o be_v to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o shall_v come_v unto_o he_o with_o great_a boldness_n too_o call_v upon_o he_o not_o doubt_v but_o that_o we_o shall_v obtain_v whatsoever_o we_o crave_v at_o his_o hand_n yea_o even_o asmuch_o as_n shall_v be_v expedient_a for_o our_o can_v be_v able_a to_o submit_v ourselves_o to_o god_n in_o such_o humility_n as_o for_o to_o know_v &_o say_v that_o he_o be_v only_o wise_a but_o yet_o they_o which_o know_v this_o think_v not_o his_o chatisement_n too_o be_v gentle_a and_o gracious_a but_o be_v impatient_a and_o conceive_v some_o grief_n that_o make_v they_o too_o grind_v their_o tooth_n now_o david_n join_v these_o two_o together_o to_o wit_n that_o he_o do_v not_o only_o make_v much_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o also_o of_o the_o punishment_n which_o he_o send_v he_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v o_o lord_n i_o do_v not_o only_o suffer_v myself_o to_o be_v teach_v by_o thy_o word_n but_o to_o be_v chastise_v also_o with_o thy_o hand_n and_o i_o beseech_v thou_o to_o scourge_v and_o beat_v i_o with_o thy_o road_n so_o often_o as_o thou_o see_v i_o too_o do_v amiss_o and_o too_o cause_v i_o too_o amend_v show_v thyself_o a_o most_o love_a and_o pitiful_a father_n towards_o i_o we_o have_v here_o now_o a_o very_a good_a admonition_n to_o wit_n that_o first_o we_o must_v learn_v to_o be_v rule_v after_o the_o will_n of_o god_n to_o receive_v his_o word_n without_o contradiction_n that_o we_o reply_v not_o according_a as_o it_o please_v our_o own_o wit_n and_o affection_n neither_o too_o make_v any_o noise_n when_o we_o hear_v god_n speak_v but_o let_v he_o have_v such_o authority_n over_o we_o to_o make_v we_o so_o silent_a as_o that_o we_o may_v know_v that_o whatsoever_o he_o say_v unto_o we_o be_v just_a and_o true_a and_o thus_o too_o do_v let_v we_o learn_v not_o to_o be_v so_o sleepy_a and_o sluggish_a as_o we_o be_v by_o nature_n in_o our_o vice_n and_o sin_n and_o special_o in_o this_o vice_n of_o ambition_n have_v always_o a_o greedy_a desire_n to_o be_v advance_v let_v we_o rather_o know_v that_o god_n be_v the_o master_n of_o the_o humble_a and_o low_o and_o let_v we_o therefore_o humble_a ourselves_o &_o not_o look_v so_o big_a and_o be_v so_o foolish_a haughty_a which_o do_v nothing_o else_o but_o cast_v we_o headlong_o into_o destruction_n when_o as_o we_o advance_v ourselves_o high_o then_o become_v us._n let_v we_o rather_o be_v advise_v to_o bridle_v all_o our_o lust_n and_o that_o which_o hold_v we_o as_o it_o be_v captive_n as_o saint_n paul_n say_v for_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o so_o many_o people_n at_o this_o day_n do_v set_v themselves_o against_o the_o gospel_n it_o be_v not_o because_o they_o know_v not_o this_o doctrine_n too_o be_v good_a and_o that_o they_o judge_v not_o so_o of_o it_o but_o yet_o be_v they_o not_o therein_o thorough_o persuade_v too_o say_v loe_o how_o we_o must_v live_v every_o man_n will_v do_v whatsoever_o himself_o think_v to_o be_v good_a we_o must_v then_o needs_o confess_v that_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n be_v right_a that_o we_o learn_v to_o hold_v all_o our_o passion_n in_o bondage_n that_o we_o suffer_v ourselves_o to_o be_v condemn_v by_o he_o and_o to_o be_v rebuke_v for_o all_o our_o vice_n and_o imperfection_n as_o become_v us._n now_o can_v we_o do_v this_o to_o wit_n be_v we_o become_v subject_a &_o obedient_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n we_o must_v also_o submit_v ourselves_o under_o his_o hand_n to_o strike_v we_o when_o it_o shall_v please_v he_o and_o lively_a to_o understande_v that_o we_o have_v do_v amiss_o confess_v that_o he_o have_v just_o chastise_v we_o or_o as_o here_o it_o be_v say_v of_o very_a faithfulness_n this_o be_v the_o sum_n and_o effect_n that_o he_o be_v just_a in_o punish_v of_o we_o as_o he_o be_v wise_a in_o teach_v of_o we_o the_o one_o hang_v on_o the_o other_o that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o second_o hang_v upon_o the_o first_o for_o whosoever_o shall_v come_v to_o this_o humility_n that_o david_n speak_v off_o to_o know_v that_o in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n there_o be_v but_o one_o holy_a doctrine_n one_o infallible_a truth_n one_o so_o perfect_a equity_n as_o can_v be_v no_o perfect_a he_o that_o shall_v have_v know_v this_o shall_v by_o little_a and_o little_o have_v wherewith_o too_o be_v fortify_v too_o receive_v the_o correction_n with_o a_o meek_a spirit_n and_o not_o to_o be_v grieve_v and_o to_o kick_v against_o the_o prick_n as_o we_o be_v wont_v to_o do_v let_v we_o now_o then_o suffer_v god_n to_o rebuke_v we_o yea_o and_o to_o correct_v we_o see_v he_o do_v all_o this_o for_o our_o profit_n and_o health_n and_o this_o be_v the_o sum_n and_o effect_n of_o this_o verse_n it_o follow_v next_o after_o i_o pray_v thou_o that_o thy_o mercy_n may_v comfort_v i_o according_a unto_o thy_o promise_n unto_o thy_o servant_n here_o david_n make_v and_o more_o general_a request_n then_o that_o which_o before_o we_o have_v see_v he_o desire_v god_n to_o instruct_v he_o and_o now_o he_o add_v o_o let_v thy_o merciful_a kindness_n be_v my_o comfort_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v o_o lord_n i_o have_v beseech_v thou_o for_o a_o special_a and_o particular_a thing_n but_o i_o add_v now_o that_o thou_o will_v be_v merciful_a unto_o i_o in_o all_o and_o through_o all_o that_o thy_o mercy_n be_v extend_v upon_o i_o that_o i_o fail_v in_o nothing_o thou_o know_v what_o be_v necessary_a and_o profitable_a for_o i_o o_o lord_n let_v i_o feel_v thou_o to_o be_v gracious_a and_o pitiful_a all_o manner_n of_o way_n loe_o what_o difference_n there_o be_v between_o the_o first_o request_n which_o we_o have_v already_o see_v and_o this_o second_o now_o this_o be_v a_o point_n worth_a the_o note_n for_o as_o we_o have_v before_o say_v see_v the_o first_o which_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v in_o a_o singular_a recommendation_n and_o that_o be_v that_o we_o may_v be_v teach_v by_o god_n and_o not_o to_o be_v teach_v only_o by_o word_n but_o that_o he_o will_v also_o lighten_v we_o with_o his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o make_v we_o know_v that_o it_o be_v his_o word_n which_o guide_v us._n see_v here_o i_o say_v the_o very_a right_a way_n to_o salvation_n now_o have_v we_o make_v this_o request_n we_o may_v crave_v of_o god_n that_o he_o will_v not_o let_v we_o fall_v in_o anything_o whatsoever_o that_o his_o mercy_n may_v comfort_v us._n but_o yet_o here_o we_o see_v how_o that_o david_n be_v not_o comfort_v nor_o yet_o rejoice_v but_o only_o in_o god_n know_v that_o all_o the_o joy_n that_o we_o have_v here_o bilowe_n shall_v be_v accurse_v when_o as_o we_o have_v no_o shall_v we_o be_v assure_v of_o this_o it_o shall_v be_v by_o the_o only_a mean_a of_o his_o word_n now_o because_o man_n be_v so_o hard_a to_o be_v bring_v to_o rest_v themselves_o upon_o god_n and_o the_o health_n and_o succour_n which_o he_o look_v for_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n will_v we_o then_o have_v a_o right_a hope_n and_o such_o a_o one_o as_o god_n allow_v of_o let_v we_o then_o not_o trust_v only_o when_o we_o be_v quiet_a and_o at_o rest_n ne_o yet_o be_v throw_v down_o by_o any_o temptation_n but_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v in_o our_o extreme_a trouble_n that_o we_o know_v not_o at_o all_o what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v see_v nothing_o else_o but_o death_n before_o we_o and_o round_o about_o we_o here_o upon_o i_o say_v let_v we_o always_o be_v firm_a and_o constant_a trust_v that_o god_n will_v be_v our_o saviour_n since_o he_o have_v so_o promise_v us._n loe_o how_o we_o may_v make_v this_o protestation_n as_o david_n here_o do_v now_o it_o follow_v deal_v with_o thy_o servant_n according_a to_o thy_o love_a mercy_n and_o teach_v i_o thy_o statute_n here_o it_o may_v very_o well_o seem_v that_o david_n make_v two_o petition_n but_o yet_o they_o tend_v both_o to_o one_o end_n for_o in_o the_o first_o part_n of_o this_o verse_n he_o show_v how_o he_o desire_v and_o trust_v to_o be_v hear_v to_o wit_n through_o the_o mere_a mercy_n of_o god_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v o_o lord_n teach_v i_o thy_o statute_n and_o teach_v i_o they_o not_o for_o that_o i_o think_v myself_o worthy_a of_o they_o but_o because_o thou_o be_v pitiful_a and_o
know_v my_o need_n and_o have_v promise_v also_o to_o help_v all_o those_o which_o call_v upon_o thou_o deal_v then_o o_o lord_n with_o thy_o servant_n according_a too_o thy_o mercy_n to_o the_o end_n thou_o may_v teach_v i_o by_o this_o we_o see_v that_o which_o i_o have_v already_o touch_v to_o wit_n that_o this_o verse_n contain_v not_o two_o petition_n but_o one_o only_a and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o david_n so_o set_v it_o forth_o in_o declare_v that_o when_o he_o come_v to_o god_n to_o pray_v he_o to_o teach_v he_o that_o he_o do_v it_o not_o to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o presume_v of_o his_o meritte_n neither_o yet_o to_o make_v vaunt_v that_o he_o deserve_v any_o thing_n of_o he_o wherefore_o then_o forsooth_o because_o he_o look_v and_o trust_v to_o the_o mere_a mercy_n of_o god_n and_o in_o very_a deed_n this_o be_v a_o far_o more_o precious_a thing_n then_o that_o which_o david_n here_o demand_v to_o be_v teach_v the_o statute_n of_o god_n to_o say_v that_o it_o hang_v not_o upon_o our_o merit_n neither_o yet_o of_o any_o worthiness_n of_o we_o it_o be_v a_o question_n to_o know_v the_o way_n of_o everlasting_a life_n and_o wherein_o it_o consist_v &_o lie_v it_o be_v very_o meet_v then_o that_o god_n do_v it_o because_o he_o be_v pitiful_a that_o he_o use_v his_o goodness_n towards_o we_o and_o look_v to_o none_o but_o unto_o himself_o because_o if_o god_n pay_v unto_o we_o our_o wage_n but_o his_o mercy_n must_v always_o go_v before_o for_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o we_o receive_v so_o many_o benefit_n at_o his_o hand_n and_o especial_o that_o we_o be_v teach_v his_o statute_n now_o it_o follow_v i_o be_o thy_o seruavant_n grant_v i_o therefore_o understand_v that_o i_o may_v know_v thy_o testimony_n this_o be_v a_o more_o do_v as_o we_o take_v it_o and_o why_o so_o for_o say_v he_o he_o must_v keep_v it_o with_o his_o whole_a heart_n when_o he_o mean_v to_o show_v unto_o we_o what_o the_o good_a keep_n of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n be_v and_o such_o a_o observation_n as_o god_n require_v of_o we_o it_o be_v not_o only_o mean_v that_o our_o foot_n and_o hand_n shall_v be_v see_v to_o be_v well_o rule_v and_o compass_v that_o our_o sin_n and_o iniquity_n shall_v be_v so_o apparent_a as_o that_o they_o may_v be_v condemn_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o world_n this_o say_v i_o be_v not_o all_o as_o to_o use_v such_o a_o observation_n but_o we_o must_v say_v david_n keep_v the_o law_n of_o god_n with_o our_o whole_a heart_n when_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v never_o so_o little_o affect_v or_o desirous_a thereto_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o worth_a than_o all_o the_o substance_n in_o the_o world_n but_o we_o must_v beware_v that_o we_o have_v not_o a_o double_a heart_n that_o our_o desire_n be_v respect_n to_o the_o heart_n all_o my_o carnal_a passion_n and_o affection_n must_v be_v pull_v down_o &_o myself_o in_o such_o sort_n renew_v as_o that_o i_o may_v be_v whole_o conform_v unto_o thy_o promise_n of_o god_n be_v altogether_o free_a that_o they_o hang_v not_o of_o our_o worthiness_n ne_o yet_o because_o god_n find_v some_o thing_n in_o we_o why_o to_o love_v &_o succour_v we_o so_o but_o because_o he_o be_v good_a &_o pity_v our_o misery_n loe_o what_o make_v he_o to_o offer_v himself_o so_o liberal_a to_o we_o &_o consequent_o to_o perform_v his_o promise_n we_o must_v learn_v then_o to_o glorify_v ourselves_o in_o the_o mere_a grace_n of_o god_n and_o not_o to_o attribute_v any_o thing_n whatsoever_o either_o to_o our_o own_o person_n or_o yet_o to_o our_o merit_n for_o there_o be_v nothing_o at_o all_o in_o us._n now_o it_o follow_v many_o there_o be_v that_o trouble_n and_o persecute_v i_o yet_o do_v i_o not_o swerve_v from_o thy_o testimony_n here_o david_n make_v a_o protestation_n and_o complaint_n too_o the_o end_n god_n may_v the_o rather_o incline_v himself_o to_o hear_v and_o help_v he_o and_o that_o be_v according_a too_o that_o which_o he_o have_v
