like_v as_o their_o commission_n be_v for_o as_o they_o be_v authorise_v to_o preach_v to_o all_o nation_n repentance_n and_o remission_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n so_o here_o our_o saviour_n for_o their_o further_a encouragement_n give_v they_o his_o warrant_n that_o whosoever_v sin_n they_o shall_v remit_v shall_v certain_o be_v remit_v and_o whosoever_n sin_n they_o shall_v retain_v shall_v very_o be_v retain_v thus_o therefore_o the_o effect_n of_o the_o apostle_n ministry_n be_v assure_v to_o be_v as_o general_a as_o their_o commission_n be_v but_o the_o effect_n be_v not_o all_o of_o one_o sort_n or_o of_o like_a kind_n as_o we_o see_v for_o to_o some_o it_o be_v healthful_a and_o save_v to_o other_o it_o be_v not_o so_o but_o contrariwise_o hurtful_a and_o damnable_a according_a to_o that_o of_o the_o apostle_n paul_n 2._o cor._n 2.15.16_o we_o be_v unto_o god_n the_o sweet_a savour_n of_o christ_n in_o they_o that_o be_v save_v and_o in_o they_o which_o perish_v to_o the_o one_o we_o be_v the_o savour_n of_o death_n unto_o death_n and_o to_o the_o other_o we_o be_v the_o savour_n of_o life_n unto_o life_n and_o who_o be_v sufficient_a for_o these_o thing_n the_o reason_n of_o which_o contrary_a effect_n be_v not_o in_o the_o gospel_n which_o be_v in_o the_o own_o nature_n one_o and_o the_o same_o but_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o contrary_a disposition_n of_o those_o to_o who_o it_o be_v preach_v insomuch_o as_o the_o one_o sort_n through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n do_v in_o hear_v believe_v and_o obey_v it_o the_o other_o of_o their_o own_o stubbornness_n either_o altogether_o despise_v it_o as_o a_o doctrine_n unworthy_a to_o be_v receive_v and_o so_o profane_o reject_v it_o or_o else_o they_o be_v such_o as_o unto_o secure_a contempt_n do_v add_v presumptuous_a rebellion_n and_o opposition_n against_o it_o like_a as_o the_o sun_n though_o of_o one_o and_o the_o same_o nature_n in_o itself_o melt_v wax_n but_o harden_v clay_n make_v a_o sweet_a thing_n to_o smell_v the_o more_o sweet_a but_o cause_v carrion_n to_o stink_v the_o more_o and_o therefore_o as_o the_o same_o apostle_n say_v further_a in_o the_o 12._o chap._n of_o the_o same_o 2._o ep._n to_o the_o cor._n ver_fw-la 3.4.5.6_o though_o we_o walk_v in_o the_o flesh_n yet_o we_o do_v not_o war_n after_o the_o flesh_n for_o the_o weapon_n of_o our_o warfare_n be_v not_o carnal_a but_o mighty_a through_o god_n to_o cast_v down_o hold_v cast_v down_o imagination_n and_o every_o high_a thing_n that_o be_v exalt_v against_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o bring_v into_o captivity_n every_o thought_n to_o the_o obedience_n of_o christ_n and_o have_v in_o a_o readiness_n vengeance_n against_o all_o disobedience_n when_o your_o obedience_n be_v fulfil_v answerable_a also_o to_o that_o 2._o thess_n 1.7.8.9.10_o the_o lord_n jesus_n shall_v show_v himself_o from_o heaven_n with_o his_o mighty_a angel_n in_o flame_a fire_n render_v vengeance_n unto_o they_o which_o do_v not_o know_v god_n &_o which_o obey_v not_o the_o gospel_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n which_o shall_v be_v punish_v with_o everlasting_a perdition_n from_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o from_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o power_n when_o he_o shall_v come_v to_o be_v glorify_v in_o his_o saint_n and_o to_o be_v make_v marvellous_a in_o all_o they_o that_o believe_v because_o our_o testimony_n towards_o you_o be_v believe_v in_o that_o day_n now_o that_o we_o may_v understand_v these_o contrary_a effect_n of_o the_o apostolic_a ministry_n the_o better_a contain_v in_o these_o word_n of_o remit_v and_o retain_v of_o sin_n we_o be_v to_o consider_v two_o thing_n question_n first_o what_o be_v mean_v by_o the_o word_n of_o remit_v and_o retain_v second_o how_o these_o action_n may_v be_v ascribe_v to_o the_o apostle_n touch_v the_o first_o therefore_o how_o be_v we_o to_o
