house_n and_o yet_o be_v ready_a to_o perish_v for_o thirst_n to_o wit_n not_o only_o because_o their_o wage_n be_v not_o pay_v they_o at_o least_o not_o in_o time_n or_o because_o they_o allow_v they_o wage_n whereon_o they_o can_v live_v but_o also_o because_o they_o be_v not_o allow_v to_o quench_v their_o thirst_n with_o that_o they_o provide_v for_o their_o great_a master_n and_o well_o may_v this_o be_v mention_v as_o a_o high_a degree_n of_o wickedness_n as_o be_v note_v above_o vers_n 10._o that_o they_o shall_v suffer_v they_o to_o be_v hungry_a and_o thirsty_a at_o the_o very_a time_n when_o they_o toil_v and_o moil_v to_o prepare_v for_o they_o such_o choice_a dainty_n and_o shall_v be_v hard-hearted_a to_o the_o poor_a when_o they_o receive_v so_o liberal_o from_o god_n verse_n 12._o man_n groan_v from_o out_o of_o the_o city_n etc._n etc._n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v these_o thing_n be_v thus_o not_o only_o in_o the_o country_n in_o desert_n and_o solitary_a place_n but_o also_o in_o city_n the_o place_n where_o seat_n of_o justice_n be_v usual_o erect_v they_o be_v not_o only_o do_v in_o secret_a but_o open_o the_o groan_n and_o cry_v of_o the_o oppress_a be_v open_o hear_v in_o the_o city_n and_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o wound_a cry_v out_o that_o be_v the_o man_n that_o be_v wound_v in_o their_o very_a soul_n because_o of_o the_o do_v in_o their_o grief_n or_o whilst_o they_o be_v die_v complain_v bitter_o of_o what_o they_o suffer_v and_o cry_v unto_o god_n for_o vengeance_n or_o it_o may_v be_v mean_v that_o the_o blood_n or_o the_o soul_n of_o those_o that_o be_v wound_v and_o slay_v do_v cry_v for_o vengeance_n as_o be_v say_v concern_v the_o blood_n of_o abel_n gen._n 4.10_o of_o which_o see_v the_o note_n there_o and_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o martyr_n slay_v by_o their_o cruel_a persecutor_n revel_v 6.9_o 10._o some_o understand_v the_o first_o clause_n particular_o of_o those_o that_o grieve_v and_o groan_v in_o the_o city_n because_o of_o those_o grievous_a oppression_n which_o they_o hear_v the_o poor_a endure_v in_o the_o country_n and_o some_o apply_v both_o clause_n to_o the_o groan_n of_o such_o as_o inhabit_v city_n when_o they_o be_v straighten_v and_o damnify_v and_o sometime_o if_o they_o stir_v forth_o a_o little_a wound_a and_o slay_v by_o those_o field-robber_n whereof_o job_n have_v speak_v in_o the_o forego_n verse_n but_o i_o conceive_v it_o must_v be_v take_v general_o of_o the_o groan_n and_o complaint_n of_o all_o that_o be_v oppress_v in_o city_n whatever_o their_o suffering_n and_o oppression_n be_v as_o for_o the_o last_o clause_n yet_o god_n lay_v not_o folly_n to_o they_o it_o be_v that_o for_o which_o job_n have_v allege_v all_o that_o he_o have_v hitherto_o speak_v of_o profane_a wicked_a man_n to_o wit_n that_o though_o their_o wickedness_n be_v so_o great_a and_o the_o oppress_a cry_n to_o god_n against_o they_o yet_o many_o time_n god_n do_v not_o in_o the_o least_o punish_v they_o for_o the_o evil_n they_o commit_v and_o so_o stop_v they_o in_o their_o foolish_a and_o wicked_a way_n but_o suffer_v they_o to_o run_v on_o in_o their_o lewd_a and_o sinful_a course_n verse_n 13._o they_o be_v of_o those_o that_o rebel_n against_o the_o light_n etc._n etc._n this_o i_o conceive_v be_v primary_o mean_v of_o that_o natural_a light_n whereof_o job_n speak_v also_o in_o the_o follow_a verse_n for_o against_o this_o light_n it_o may_v be_v say_v that_o they_o rebel_v because_o they_o hate_v and_o abhor_v it_o they_o know_v not_o the_o way_n thereof_o nor_o abide_v in_o the_o path_n thereof_o that_o be_v they_o be_v bird_n of_o darkness_n they_o spend_v their_o day_n most_o in_o the_o dark_a and_o take_v little_a or_o no_o pleasure_n to_o be_v in_o the_o light_n have_v speak_v before_o of_o open_a oppressor_n now_o he_o come_v to_o speak_v of_o those_o that_o sin_n more_o secret_o and_o close_o but_o yet_o secondary_o it_o must_v questionless_a be_v understand_v of_o spiritual_a light_n to_o wit_n that_o they_o rebel_v against_o god_n the_o father_n of_o light_n against_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n and_o against_o the_o light_n of_o god_n word_n and_o spirit_n and_o that_o 1._o because_o man_n seek_v darkness_n and_o secrecy_n when_o they_o sin_n be_v a_o argument_n that_o they_o rebel_v against_o the_o light_n of_o their_o own_o conscience_n and_o 2._o because_o this_o their_o sin_v so_o wilful_o and_o desperate_o not_o of_o ignorance_n be_v mention_v here_o as_o a_o great_a aggravation_n of_o their_o rule_n over_o a_o son_n that_o cause_v shame_n etc._n etc._n see_v the_o note_n chap._n 10.5_o and_o 14.35_o and_o shall_v have_v part_n of_o the_o inheritance_n among_o the_o brethren_n thus_o it_o be_v usual_o in_o both_o particular_n mention_v the_o first_o when_o a_o servant_n for_o his_o wisdom_n be_v advance_v to_o some_o place_n of_o honour_n &_o magistracy_n and_o so_o the_o foolish_a son_n have_v waste_v his_o estate_n &_o be_v become_v poor_a live_v under_o his_o command_n or_o else_o when_o the_o master_n of_o such_o a_o servant_n shall_v give_v he_o the_o rule_n over_o his_o whole_a family_n or_o shall_v make_v he_o at_o his_o death_n one_o of_o his_o executor_n &_o a_o guardian_n over_o his_o foolish_a son_n perhaps_o over_o all_o his_o child_n and_o so_o the_o second_o also_o either_o when_o such_o a_o servant_n grow_v rich_a and_o great_a buy_v the_o estate_n of_o his_o master_n prodigal_a child_n or_o rather_o when_o a_o master_n shall_v give_v one_o of_o his_o daughter_n in_o marriage_n to_o such_o a_o servant_n or_o shall_v adopt_v he_o for_o his_o son_n and_o thereupon_o shall_v at_o his_o death_n allot_v he_o a_o share_n in_o his_o inheritance_n but_o the_o drift_n of_o the_o proverb_n be_v to_o show_v that_o wisdom_n do_v often_o prefer_v man_n above_o those_o that_o otherwise_o have_v it_o not_o be_v for_o their_o folly_n may_v have_v be_v general_o all_o wicked_a man_n delight_v to_o hear_v those_o that_o talk_v wicked_o verse_n 5._o whoso_o mock_v the_o poor_a reproach_v his_o maker_n that_o be_v he_o that_o deride_v a_o man_n distress_v with_o poverty_n or_o any_o other_o sad_a affliction_n it_o be_v a_o sin_n to_o deride_v any_o body_n but_o the_o poor_a man_n be_v mention_v because_o man_n do_v usual_o take_v most_o liberty_n to_o scoff_n at_o such_o man_n and_o yet_o the_o deride_v of_o they_o be_v worst_a because_o thereby_o man_n add_v affliction_n to_o the_o afflict_a but_o see_v the_o note_n chap._n 14.31_o
