pope_n benedict_n 4._o so_o determine_v nay_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v hold_v something_o wherein_o the_o scripture_n be_v his_o adversary_n as_o that_o a_o oath_n be_v not_o to_o be_v take_v and_o war_n be_v not_o to_o be_v make_v by_o christian_n such_o a_o one_o be_v in_o a_o gross_a error_n but_o not_o present_o sink_v into_o heresy_n but_o if_o any_o man_n shall_v maintain_v justification_n by_o work_n a_o daily_a sacrifice_n for_o satisfaction_n for_o sin_n or_o any_o other_o righteousness_n or_o work_n to_o stand_v before_o god_n in_o beside_o christ_n the_o defence_n of_o this_o reject_v admonition_n and_o strive_v after_o conviction_n and_o this_o proper_o make_v a_o heretic_n honorat_fw-la for_o every_o one_o that_o hold_v a_o heretical_a opinion_n be_v not_o a_o heretic_n a_o man_n may_v by_o simplicity_n levity_n or_o rashness_n or_o gentleness_n of_o nature_n be_v draw_v into_o such_o a_o opinion_n but_o if_o admonish_v of_o his_o error_n he_o contend_v not_o but_o be_v ready_a to_o yield_v up_o himself_o to_o the_o persuasion_n of_o truth_n he_o be_v no_o heretic_n for_o these_o three_o thing_n make_v up_o a_o heretic_n 1._o error_n 2._o conviction_n 3._o obstinacy_n or_o weddednes_n to_o his_o opinion_n heretic_n hence_o first_o note_n by_o the_o way_n what_o a_o heavy_a thing_n we_o charge_v he_o with_o who_o we_o brand_v with_o the_o title_n of_o a_o heretic_n for_o we_o charge_v he_o to_o be_v one_o who_o rest_v not_o in_o the_o wholesome_a word_n but_o maintain_v such_o a_o error_n as_o have_v turn_v he_o off_o his_o foundation_n one_o that_o contemn_v the_o judgement_n of_o the_o church_n despise_v wholesome_a admonition_n continue_v in_o his_o damnable_a opinion_n against_o the_o light_n of_o his_o mind_n against_o the_o check_n and_o accusation_n of_o his_o conscience_n and_o be_v condemn_v of_o himself_o heap_v up_o sin_n upon_o sin_n all_o which_o censure_n if_o we_o shall_v hasty_o pass_v we_o shall_v hardly_o avoid_v rash_a judgement_n for_o if_o every_o error_n in_o divinity_n present_o make_v a_o heretic_n nolo_fw-la the_o apostle_n themselves_o have_v be_v no_o other_o than_o heretic_n who_o at_o first_o be_v so_o erroneous_a and_o ignorant_a in_o many_o thing_n of_o the_o great_a moment_n in_o religion_n what_o a_o false_a witness_n then_o have_v that_o apostate_n church_n of_o rome_n pass_v against_o have_v convince_v we_o to_o have_v depart_v from_o the_o catholic_a and_o apostolic_a faith_n and_o much_o less_o that_o we_o have_v with_o pertinacie_n and_o against_o our_o own_o conscience_n maintain_v any_o falsehood_n indeed_o if_o our_o rule_n be_v their_o canon_n law_n which_o judge_v he_o a_o heretic_n who_o speak_v against_o the_o romish_a church_n or_o obey_v not_o whatsoever_o the_o pope_n decree_v we_o can_v avoid_v that_o name_n or_o if_o we_o shall_v teach_v as_o they_o do_v and_o that_o after_o conviction_n that_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n be_v mediator_n by_o their_o merit_n and_o prayer_n that_o prayer_n be_v to_o be_v make_v to_o saint_n and_o dead_a man_n that_o we_o can_v be_v justify_v by_o the_o merit_n of_o our_o work_n by_o fast_v prayer_n pilgrimage_n or_o any_o such_o observance_n that_o concupiscence_n be_v no_o sin_n in_o the_o regenerate_a that_o a_o man_n can_v perfect_o fulfil_v the_o law_n that_o saint_n dominike_n
