spirit_n of_o god_n in_o the_o text_n or_o no_o for_o some_o may_v doubt_v thereof_o but_o yet_o on_o the_o point_n themselves_o i_o will_v stand_v more_o large_o upon_o as_o on_o matter_n which_o be_v most_o evident_a and_o beyond_o all_o question_n and_o doubt_v whatsoever_o the_o first_o of_o they_o be_v fear_n in_o fear_n say_v the_o text_n or_o after_o some_o with_o reverence_n both_o come_v almost_o to_o one_o end_n but_o the_o former_a word_n be_v the_o better_a of_o the_o two_o and_o he_o mean_v the_o fear_n of_o his_o child_n who_o be_v loath_a to_o offend_v he_o not_o so_o whether_o by_o word_n or_o deed_n through_o the_o tender_a love_n and_o affection_n which_o they_o do_v bear_v towards_o they_o the_o servile_a or_o slavish_a fear_n be_v such_o a_o one_o as_o be_v in_o bondslave_n towards_o their_o master_n who_o do_v reverence_n and_o fear_v they_o and_o be_v loath_a to_o displease_v they_o whether_o one_o way_n or_o other_o through_o the_o dread_n and_o fear_n of_o punishment_n which_o otherwise_o they_o be_v sure_a to_o have_v if_o they_o offend_v and_o do_v contrary_a to_o their_o duty_n so_o that_o some_o do_v fear_v the_o lord_n through_o love_n and_o care_v to_o offend_v he_o and_o other_o again_o do_v fear_v he_o through_o dread_n of_o punishment_n and_o power_n to_o torment_v they_o of_o the_o former_a of_o these_o be_v mention_n here_o make_v &_o not_o of_o the_o latter_a it_o may_v be_v define_v thus_o it_o be_v a_o reverence_n of_o god_n majesty_n in_o our_o heart_n whereby_o we_o be_v make_v unwilling_a to_o offend_v he_o in_o his_o wrath_n that_o the_o israelite_n that_o do_v provoke_v he_o in_o the_o wilderness_n shall_v not_o enter_v into_o his_o rest_n heb._n 3.8_o so_o that_o god_n will_v be_v far_o off_o at_o such_o a_o time_n to_o give_v repentance_n and_o upon_o repentance_n to_o receive_v to_o mercy_n and_o therefore_o as_o the_o woman_n sing_v concern_v saul_n and_o david_n say_v saul_n have_v slay_v his_o have_v stand_v long_o full_a of_o stink_a liquor_n so_o we_o ourselves_o shall_v be_v no_o better_o if_o we_o shall_v suffer_v our_o child_n and_o other_o under_o our_o tuition_n to_o go_v on_o in_o their_o childhood_n and_o youth_n unnurtured_a in_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o suffer_v they_o to_o live_v after_o their_o own_o will_n and_o to_o drink_v in_o the_o deadly_a poison_n of_o the_o world_n whereby_o they_o shall_v be_v make_v unable_a to_o be_v reclaim_v at_o the_o last_o but_o teach_v we_o they_o betimes_o and_o labour_n we_o to_o bring_v they_o to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o obedience_n unto_o his_o will_n so_o shall_v not_o sin_n be_v their_o destruction_n nor_o rebellion_n be_v their_o overthrow_n but_o more_o of_o this_o elsewhere_o as_o thus_o we_o have_v hear_v when_o we_o must_v repent_v so_o now_o let_v we_o hear_v wherein_o repentance_n do_v stand_v and_o that_o be_v in_o two_o point_n the_o one_o be_v knowledge_n or_o understanding_n the_o other_o be_v obedience_n or_o subjection_n of_o the_o former_a of_o these_o mention_n be_v make_v in_o this_o verse_n of_o the_o latter_a in_o the_o follow_v bewise_o say_v the_o prophet_n you_o king_n be_v learned_a you_o judge_n of_o the_o earth_n here_o be_v that_o knowledge_n &_o understanding_n express_v which_o be_v require_v of_o we_o in_o every_o true_a &_o sound_a repentance_n but_o what_o mean_v the_o prophet_n hereby_o may_v you_o say_v be_v the_o king_n unwise_a and_o be_v the_o judge_n of_o the_o earth_n unlearned_a yes_o sure_o for_o otherwise_o they_o will_v never_o have_v rebel_v against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o anoint_a as_o they_o do_v yet_o his_o meaning_n be_v not_o that_o they_o be_v altogether_o without_o wisdom_n and_o learning_n for_o they_o have_v worldly_a wisdom_n and_o learning_n in_o great_a abundance_n but_o that_o they_o want_v the_o heavenly_a wisdom_n and_o learning_n &_o therefore_o he_o do_v exhort_v they_o to_o look_v for_o that_o mark_v here_o there_o be_v a_o twofold_a wisdom_n and_o learning_n one_o that_o be_v earthly_a and_o from_o man_n a_o other_o that_o be_v heavenly_a and_o from_o god_n the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n say_v our_o saviour_n in_o luk._n 16.8_o be_v wise_a in_o their_o generation_n than_o the_o child_n of_o light_n in_o which_o word_n he_o do_v intimate_v that_o as_o there_o be_v two_o sort_n of_o man_n the_o one_o wicked_a call_v the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n the_o other_o godly_a term_v the_o child_n of_o light_n so_o there_o be_v two_o sort_n of_o wisdom_n the_o one_o for_o the_o body_n and_o this_o life_n the_o other_o for_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o life_n to_o come_v this_o latter_a wisdom_n the_o king_n and_o judge_n here_o want_v but_o the_o former_a they_o have_v for_o the_o body_n and_o this_o life_n they_o be_v wise_a and_o learned_a they_o know_v well_o enough_o how_o to_o rule_v and_o govern_v and_o to_o turn_v all_o thing_n to_o their_o
