apostle_n than_o by_o moses_n and_o the_o prophet_n for_o very_o evident_a it_o be_v that_o not_o only_o the_o trinity_n of_o person_n in_o the_o unity_n of_o the_o divine_a essence_n the_o person_n and_o office_n of_o the_o messiah_n be_v more_o full_o discover_v but_o also_o the_o very_a attribute_n of_o god_n be_v most_o auspicious_o assert_v and_o illustrate_v by_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o that_o ever_o yet_o be_v make_v of_o the_o divine_a attribute_n which_o it_o seem_v according_a to_o the_o jew_n be_v distinguish_v into_o two_o sort_n viz._n fundamental_a and_o practical_a the_o miracle_n yet_o after_o their_o utmost_a diligence_n they_o can_v find_v but_o 76._o for_o moses_n their_o master_n and_o but_o 74_o for_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o prophet_n and_o the_o record_n they_o find_v so_o many_o in_o be_v not_o only_o unknown_a to_o we_o but_o also_o liable_a to_o suspicion_n of_o falsehood_n for_o we_o can_v think_v they_o their_o bible_n because_o the_o number_n already_o observe_v make_v 31._o it_o a_o question_n whether_o christ_n the_o messiah_n when_o he_o come_v will_v do_v more_o miracle_n than_o these_o which_o this_o man_n have_v do_v nothing_o but_o credible_a be_v christianity_n because_o few_o person_n in_o the_o space_n of_o less_o than_o a_o hundred_o year_n wrought_v incomparable_o more_o to_o demonstrate_v the_o truth_n of_o it_o if_o the_o jew_n have_v reason_n to_o believe_v that_o they_o be_v prophet_n much_o more_o have_v we_o that_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n be_v so_o well_o as_o they_o especial_o consider_v that_o the_o greatness_n of_o their_o miracle_n do_v as_o just_o claim_v our_o assent_n thereunto_o as_o their_o number_n it_o be_v true_a indeed_o all_o miracle_n be_v work_n of_o god_n beside_o the_o whole_a order_n of_o the_o create_a nature_n in_o respect_n of_o his_o power_n they_o be_v all_o equal_a yet_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o power_n of_o nature_n one_o may_v be_v great_a because_o remote_a from_o it_o or_o far_o above_o it_o than_o another_o for_o as_o aquinas_n well_o observe_v these_o work_n of_o god_n viz._n miracle_n may_v three_o way_n exceed_v the_o power_n of_o nature_n either_o first_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o substance_n of_o the_o fact_n wh●n_v it_o be_v above_o the_o power_n of_o nature_n by_o any_o mean_n to_o do_v that_o which_o be_v do_v as_o that_o the_o sun_n of_o nature_n yet_o so_o as_o that_o each_o sort_v have_v divers_a degree_n of_o advance_v above_o it_o so_o that_o one_o miracle_n may_v be_v great_a than_o another_o not_o only_o of_o another_o but_o also_o of_o the_o same_o sort_n however_o sure_o we_o be_v that_o among_o the_o miracle_n of_o our_o bless_a saviour_n it_o be_v no_o hard_a matter_n to_o find_v instance_n of_o the_o first_o and_o second_o as_o well_o as_o the_o three_o magnitude_n witness_v his_o feed_v the_o multitude_n in_o the_o wilderness_n his_o cast_v out_o of_o devil_n his_o raise_v the_o dead_a and_o give_a sight_n unto_o the_o blind_a etc._n etc._n insomuch_o that_o since_o the_o world_n begin_v it_o be_v never_o hear_v that_o any_o man_n do_v the_o like_a and_o this_o take_v away_o all_o colour_n of_o extravagance_n of_o their_o fancy_n as_o to_o fulfil_v their_o ungrounded_a expectation_n and_o although_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n have_v as_o high_a a_o esteem_n for_o moses_n as_o can_v be_v keep_v within_o the_o bound_n of_o sobriety_n and_o real_o do_v he_o and_o his_o law_n more_o honour_n than_o the_o most_o zealous_a jew_n themselves_o yet_o do_v they_o not_o take_v his_o miracle_n for_o pattern_n of_o they_o for_o we_o find_v no_o such_o affright_a and_o hurtful_a thing_n as_o serpent_n river_n of_o blood_n or_o plague_n among_o they_o but_o christ_n be_v surety_n and_o his_o the_o nobleness_n and_o generosity_n of_o his_o temper_n as_o that_o though_o he_o have_v no_o visible_a estate_n nor_o any_o employment_n to_o get_v one_o yet_o he_o never_o be_v so_o burdensome_a
