attest_v by_o the_o oath_n of_o two_o credible_a witness_n to_o be_v allow_v by_o the_o commissioner_n of_o the_o admiralty_n navy_n registry_n or_o vice-admirals_n or_o shall_v relinquish_v the_o service_n of_o his_o majesty_n without_o consent_n in_o write_v of_o the_o commissioner_n of_o the_o admiralty_n he_o shall_v for_o ever_o loose_a the_o benefit_n of_o this_o act_n act._n to_o loose_v the_o benefit_n of_o this_o act._n and_o serve_v his_o majesty_n at_o sea_n 6_o month_n without_o any_o pay_n but_o for_o such_o offence_n only_o he_o shall_v not_o suffer_v as_o a_o deserter_n provide_v that_o nothing_o in_o this_o act_n extend_v to_o take_v away_o the_o punishment_n appoint_v for_o deserter_n by_o a_o act_n make_v the_o 13_o car._n ii_o after_o the_o term_n of_o 25_o year_n trinity-house_n brotherhood_n of_o trinity-house_n from_o the_o 25_o of_o march_n 1696_o none_o shall_v be_v capable_a of_o be_v a_o brother_n of_o trinity-house_n but_o who_o have_v be_v his_o be_v register_v shall_v bring_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v bring_v a_o certificate_n of_o his_o place_n of_o abide_v under_o the_o hand_n of_o two_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n of_o the_o county_n or_o place_n where_o he_o live_v and_o as_o often_o as_o any_o such_o seaman_n shall_v change_v his_o place_n of_o abide_v he_o shall_v bring_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v bring_v a_o new_a certificate_n thereof_o to_o the_o register_n under_o the_o penalty_n of_o lose_v the_o benefit_n of_o his_o be_v register_v as_o aforesaid_a service_n register_v person_n under_o 18_o and_o above_o 55_o exempt_v from_o service_n register_v person_n under_o 18_o or_o obove_o 55_o year_n of_o age_n shall_v be_v exempt_v from_o service_n upon_o summons_n as_o aforesaid_a unless_o they_o will_v voluntary_o commissioner_n of_o the_o admiralty_n may_v discharge_v any_o seaman_n from_o the_o register_n register_v admiralty_n may_v discharge_v or_o expunge_v person_n register_v upon_o any_o cause_n for_o which_o it_o shall_v be_v desire_v and_o may_v for_o any_o offence_n dismiss_v and_o expunge_v any_o seaman_n from_o the_o register_n and_o thereby_o deprive_v they_o from_o the_o benefit_n thereof_o according_a to_o their_o discretion_n licence_n shall_v at_o any_o time_n be_v give_v by_o order_n of_o his_o majesty_n landman_n licence_n to_o landman_n or_o commissioner_n of_o the_o admiralty_n to_o any_o landman_n desirous_a to_o apply_v themselves_o to_o sea-service_n to_o serve_v in_o merchant_n ship_n 2_o year_n which_o shall_v protect_v they_o from_o be_v impress_v provide_v they_o of_o the_o benefit_n of_o this_o act._n port_n seaman_n in_o cinque_fw-fr port_n seaman_n inhabit_v in_o the_o cinque-port_n to_o be_v register_v in_o such_o place_n and_o by_o such_o person_n as_o the_o lord_n warden_n shall_v appoint_v and_o to_o enjoy_v the_o same_o benefit_n and_o to_o be_v liable_a to_o the_o same_o penalty_n in_o case_n of_o absent_v from_o the_o service_n or_o disobey_v the_o lord_n warden_n summons_n as_o the_o person_n register_v elsewhere_o the_o say_a registerer_n to_o take_v their_o oath_n before_o the_o lord_n warden_n governor_n of_o dover_n or_o his_o revenue_n of_o the_o say_a hospital_n according_a to_o the_o rule_n and_o order_n to_o be_v provide_v and_o settle_v for_o the_o say_a hospital_n convenient_a lodging_n meat_n drink_v clothes_n and_o other_o necessary_n and_o conveniency_n and_o the_o widow_n and_o child_n of_o such_o slay_a register_v seaman_n to_o be_v in_o like_a manner_n receive_v and_o provide_v for_o seaman_n person_n so_o receive_v into_o the_o hospital_n and_o relieve_v to_o be_v in_o order_n of_o time_n as_o appear_v on_o the_o registry_n book_n of_o seaman_n and_o forasmuch_o as_o there_o may_v be_v divers_a person_n so_o register_v and_o disable_v and_o divers_a of_o the_o widow_n and_o child_n of_o such_o register_v seaman_n may_v at_o one_o and_o the_o same_o time_n stand_v in_o need_n and_o by_o the_o say_a act_n claim_v the_o bounty_n and_o advantage_n aforesaid_a it_o be_v enact_v for_o the_o avoid_v all_o partiality_n and_o favour_n that_o all_o and_o every_o such_o person_n who_o by_o the_o say_a act_n may_v claim_v any_o of_o the_o say_a bounty_n provision_n or_o allowance_n shall_v be_v receive_v into_o the_o say_a hospital_n and_o maintain_v upon_o certificate_n to_o be_v have_v in_o examine_v into_o truth_n of_o certificate_n on_o oath_n and_o if_o on_o examination_n the_o say_a justice_n shall_v find_v any_o fraud_n such_o justice_n be_v require_v to_o certify_v the_o same_o to_o the_o commissioner_n of_o the_o admiralty_n or_o lord_n high_a admiral_n certify_v and_o if_o find_v any_o fraud_n to_o certify_v that_o such_o fraud_n and_o deceit_n may_v be_v prevent_v act_n master_n mate_n and_o their_o wife_n and_o child_n to_o have_v benefit_n and_o advantage_n of_o the_o act_n iii_o it_o be_v enact_v that_o if_o any_o person_n register_v and_o who_o be_v or_o shall_v be_v raise_v to_o the_o degree_n of_o master_n mate_n in_o any_o of_o his_o majesty_n ship_n of_o war_n and_o the_o wife_n and_o child_n of_o such_o master_n mate_n be_v declare_v and_o enable_v to_o have_v and_o enjoy_v all_o and_o every_o the_o benefit_n advantage_n and_o bounty_n give_v to_o any_o other_o person_n so_o register_v or_o to_o their_o wife_n and_o child_n themselves_o what_o the_o age_n of_o fifty_o and_o who_o by_o the_o say_a act_n may_v register_n themselves_o in_o manner_n as_o aforesaid_a in_o case_n they_o be_v not_o of_o such_o age_n and_o who_o shall_v appear_v by_o the_o book_n of_o the_o navy-office_n to_o have_v faithful_o serve_v on_o board_n any_o of_o his_o majesty_n ship_n for_o the_o space_n of_o seven_o year_n past_a without_o wilful_a desert_v the_o same_o shall_v upon_o produce_v certificate_n under_o the_o hand_n of_o one_o justice_n of_o peace_n in_o manner_n aforesaid_a be_v register_v and_o such_o person_n so_o register_v and_o their_o wife_n and_o child_n executor_n and_o administrator_n to_o have_v and_o enjoy_v the_o several_a and_o respective_a privilege_n in_o the_o say_v act._n v._o proviso_n before_o person_n of_o 50_o not_o keep_v the_o say_a register_n vi_o wage_n commissioner_n of_o the_o registry_n to_o examine_v on_o oath_n master_n of_o ship_n for_o discovery_n of_o seman_n wage_n for_o the_o better_a levy_n and_o collect_v the_o duty_n of_o six_o penny_n per_fw-la mensem_fw-la give_v and_o grant_v by_o the_o say_v recite_v act_n for_o the_o revenue_n and_o support_v of_o the_o say_a hospital_n etc._n etc._n it_o shall_v be_v lawful_a for_o commissioner_n appoint_v for_o register_n of_o seaman_n or_o their_o respective_a deputy_n for_o time_n be_v for_o the_o better_a discovery_n of_o the_o pay_n and_o wages_n due_a to_o the_o sailor_n and_o person_n who_o serve_v on_o board_n any_o the_o merchant_n and_o privateer_n ship_n or_o vessel_n in_o the_o say_a act_n mention_v to_o cause_v all_o such_o master_n and_o commander_n of_o such_o ship_n not_o in_o his_o majesty_n service_n to_o be_v and_o appear_v before_o they_o the_o say_v commissioner_n or_o the_o respective_a deputy_n who_o be_v hereby_o impower_v all_o and_o every_o such_o master_n and_o commander_n upon_o their_o oath_n to_o examine_v as_o to_o the_o number_n rate_n salary_n wage_n and_o time_n of_o service_n of_o all_o and_o every_o such_o person_n or_o person_n belong_v to_o or_o serve_v in_o such_o ship_n or_o vessel_n in_o the_o say_v recite_v act_n and_o which_o by_o the_o say_a act_n be_v oblige_v to_o pay_v refuse_v when_o summon_v or_o command_v to_o appear_v before_o the_o say_v respective_a person_n unpower_v to_o examine_v they_o in_o manner_n as_o aforesaid_a or_o if_o they_o shall_v appear_v and_o obstinate_o refuse_v to_o give_v a_o plain_a full_a and_o exact_a discovery_n of_o the_o matter_n aforesaid_a upon_o their_o oath_n that_o then_o in_o every_o such_o case_n all_z and_o every_o such_o offender_n or_o offender_n shall_v for_o every_o such_o refusal_n or_o neglect_v forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o 10_o l._n to_o the_o use_v mention_v in_o the_o say_v recite_v act_n refuser_n penalty_n of_o refuser_n to_o be_v recover_v by_o action_n of_o debt_n bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n in_o any_o of_o his_o majesty_n court_n of_o record_n at_o westminster_n with_o full_a cost_v of_o suit_n provide_v such_o master_n be_v not_o quaker_n or_o repute_v quaker_n vii_o it_o be_v enact_v examine_v quaker_n to_o be_v examine_v that_o every_o master_n or_o commander_n of_o a_o ship_n or_o vessel_n mention_v in_o the_o say_v recite_v act_n be_v a_o quaker_n may_v and_o shall_v be_v examine_v before_o the_o say_a commissioner_n appoint_v for_o register_n seaman_n or_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o or_o their_o deputy_n and_o the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o their_o deputy_n may_v and_o shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n take_v the_o solemn_a affirmation_n and_o declaration_n of_o such_o quaker_n instead_o of_o their_o oath_n and_o in_o such_o manner_n and_o form_n as_o by_o a_o act_n make_v in_o the_o seven_o and_o
eight_o year_n of_o his_o majesty_n reign_n be_v direct_v entitle_v a_o act_n that_o the_o solemn_a affirmation_n and_o declaration_n of_o the_o people_n call_v quaker_n shall_v be_v accept_v instead_o of_o a_o oath_n in_o usual_a form_n and_o such_o quaker_n refuse_v to_o appear_v on_o such_o summons_n or_o to_o answer_n and_o make_v such_o solemn_a affirmation_n or_o declaration_n person_n such_o certificate_n or_o make_v use_n of_o the_o same_o for_o the_o intent_n and_o purpose_n aforesaid_a shall_v in_o all_o respect_n suffer_v the_o like_a pain_n and_o penalty_n and_o to_o the_o same_o use_v as_o be_v provide_v in_o and_o by_o the_o say_v recite_v statute_n against_o such_o person_n as_o vouch_v false_o person_n to_o be_v landman_n who_o be_v afterward_o prove_v to_o be_v seaman_n or_o shall_v be_v compel_v to_o serve_v his_o majesty_n in_o sea_n service_n for_o the_o space_n of_o six_o month_n without_o pay_n or_o wages_n ix_o justice_n certificate_n under_o mayor_n bailiff_n or_o deputy_n in_o cinque_fw-fr port_n to_o be_v as_o good_a as_o certificate_n from_o justice_n whereas_o in_o jurisdiction_n of_o cinque_fw-fr port_n and_o their_o town_n and_o member_n in_o kent_n and_o sussex_n there_o be_v not_o any_o justice_n of_o peace_n or_o division_n as_o in_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o county_n but_o only_a mayor_n bailiff_n and_o their_o deputy_n it_o be_v enact_v that_o such_o certificate_n as_o aforesaid_a under_o the_o hand_n and_o seal_n of_o any_o mayor_n or_o deputy_n mayor_n bailiff_n or_o deputy_n bailiff_n within_o jurisdiction_n of_o the_o cinque_fw-fr port_n obtain_v in_o manner_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v be_v sufficient_a where_o no_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n shall_v be_v reside_v within_o three_o mile_n of_o such_o port_n or_o town_n anno_fw-la 5_o &_o 6_o will._n &_o mar._n a_o act_n for_o grant_v to_o his_o majesty_n certain_a duty_n on_o glass-ware_n stone_n and_o earthen_a bottle_n coal_n and_o culm_n for_o carry_v on_o the_o war_n against_o france_n impress_v sect._n 28._o nota_fw-la allow_v to_o collier_n not_o to_o be_v impress_v it_o be_v enact_v that_o for_o encouragement_n of_o all_o such_o ship_n or_o burden_v according_a to_o the_o measurement_n which_o such_o a_o ship_n or_o vessel_n shall_v appear_v to_o be_v of_o by_o a_o certificate_n which_o shall_v be_v produce_v from_o the_o customhouse_n of_o what_o number_n of_o tun_n such_o a_o ship_n or_o vessel_n have_v pay_v for_o by_o a_o act_n for_o levy_v a_o duty_n on_o tonnage_n of_o ship_n and_o if_o any_o captain_n offend_v officer_z offend_v lieutenant_z or_o other_o officer_n shall_v by_o any_o authority_n whatsoever_o presume_v to_o impress_n or_o take_v any_o of_o the_o man_n allow_v by_o this_o act_n such_o captain_n lieutenant_z or_o other_o officer_n shall_v forfeit_v to_o the_o master_n or_o owner_n of_o such_o ship_n or_o vessel_n office_n forfeit_v ten_o pound_n and_o incapable_a of_o office_n ten_o pound_n for_o every_o man_n he_o shall_v so_o impress_n or_o take_v to_o be_v recover_v with_o cost_v of_o suit_n by_o action_n of_o debt_n bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n in_o any_o of_o his_o majesty_n court_n of_o record_n wherein_o no_o essoigne_n etc._n etc._n shall_v be_v allow_v and_o shall_v also_o be_v make_v incapable_a of_o hold_v any_o place_n office_n or_o employment_n in_o any_o of_o trade_n of_o this_o kingdom_n be_v appoint_v to_o cruise_n or_o convoy_n that_o be_v to_o say_v six_o on_o the_o northern_a coast_n and_o six_o on_o the_o western_a coast_n in_o such_o station_n as_o and_o deduction_n of_o his_o majesty_n custom_n etc._n etc._n shall_v be_v pay_v as_o aforesaid_a and_o before_o any_o division_n of_o the_o proceed_v thereof_o as_o aforesaid_a shall_v be_v pay_v commissioner_n of_o the_o admiralty_n etc._n commissioner_n of_o admiralty_n to_o dispose_v of_o for_o medal_n etc._n etc._n or_o lord_n high_a admiral_n for_o medal_n and_o other_o reward_n for_o officer_n mariner_n and_o seaman_n in_o the_o king_n service_n at_o sea_n who_o shall_v have_v do_v extraordinary_a service_n force_n encouragement_n to_o man_n of_o war_n and_o privateer_n to_o take_v ship_n of_o force_n x._o for_o better_a encouragement_n of_o officer_n and_o seaman_n to_o annoy_v the_o enemy_n and_o to_o take_v and_o annoy_v ship_n of_o war_n and_o of_o force_n belong_v to_o the_o enemy_n it_o be_v enact_v in_o case_n any_o of_o the_o king_n ship_n of_o war_n or_o privateer_n shall_v take_v in_o fight_n as_o prize_n or_o shall_v sink_v fire_n or_o by_o any_o other_o mean_v destroy_v any_o ship_n of_o war_n or_o privateer_n belong_v to_o the_o french_a king_n or_o his_o subject_n or_o in_o their_o service_n they_o shall_v have_v a_o reward_n for_o such_o ship_n of_o war_n take_v or_o destroy_v ten_o pound_n for_o each_o piece_n of_o ordnance_n in_o any_o ship_n to_o be_v pay_v by_o the_o commissioner_n of_o prize_n out_o of_o his_o majesty_n share_n of_o prize_n xi_o if_o commissioner_n of_o prize_n shall_v not_o pay_v or_o give_v bill_n payable_a out_o of_o the_o first_o money_n come_v to_o their_o hand_n to_o the_o person_n interest_v in_o such_o private_a man_n of_o war_n reward_n penalty_n on_o commissioner_n of_o prize_n not_o pay_v reward_n for_o the_o reward_n of_o ten_o pound_n a_o gun_n by_o the_o space_n of_o three_o day_n after_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v pay_v demand_v thereof_o make_v free_a of_o all_o charge_n and_o deduction_n the_o commissioner_n be_v make_v incapable_a of_o any_o office_n for_o the_o future_a xii_o that_o the_o share_n share_n the_o reward_v give_v by_o this_o act_n to_o be_v in_o full_a of_o all_o share_n proportion_n and_o reward_n give_v by_o this_o act_n to_o the_o respective_a officer_n and_o seaman_n shall_v be_v in_o lieu_n and_o full_a satisfaction_n of_o all_o share_n and_o prize_v take_v this_o present_a war_n any_o thing_n make_v in_o the_o act_n 13_o car._n ii_o cap._n 9_o or_o any_o declaration_n or_o order_n of_o their_o majesty_n to_o the_o contrary_n xiii_o if_o any_o captain_n or_o officer_n good_n imbezlement_n of_o money_n plate_n and_o good_n or_o any_o other_o person_n by_o his_o direction_n or_o commission_n or_o any_o seaman_n or_o soldier_n serve_v in_o the_o navy_n or_o in_o any_o privateer_n shall_v imbezle_n any_o money_n plate_n good_n tackle_n or_o other_o thing_n upon_o or_o above_o the_o gun-deck_n or_o any_o other_o part_n or_o place_n whatsoever_o in_o any_o ship_n take_v prize_n or_o retake_v from_o the_o enemy_n forfeiture_n forfeiture_n the_o party_n offend_v shall_v lose_v the_o share_n etc._n etc._n to_o he_o allow_v by_o this_o act._n and_o in_o case_n he_o be_v a_o officer_n he_o shall_v forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o 500_o l._n whereof_o one_o moiety_n to_o the_o king_n the_o other_o to_o the_o informer_n to_o be_v recover_v in_o any_o of_o his_o majesty_n court_n of_o record_n at_o westminster_n forfeiture_n in_o case_n a_o officer_n 500_o l._n forfeiture_n and_o therein_o no_o protection_n &c._n &c._n to_o be_v allow_v for_o every_o such_o offence_n and_o such_o officer_n to_o be_v incapable_a of_o any_o office_n or_o place_n gun_n deck_n and_o elsewhere_o shall_v in_o all_o place_n be_v preserve_v entire_a from_o imbezlement_n and_o shall_v not_o be_v pillage_v in_o any_o case_n whatsoever_o mediterranean_n ship_n take_v in_o strait_n and_o mediterranean_n fourteen_o provide_v that_o where_o any_o ship_n shall_v be_v take_v as_o prize_n in_o the_o mediterranean_a sea_n or_o within_o the_o strait_n of_o gibraltar_n in_o the_o realm_n and_o where_o any_o of_o the_o offence_n be_v commit_v out_o of_o the_o realm_n in_o such_o case_n the_o same_o may_v be_v allege_v and_o lay_v in_o any_o county_n within_o this_o realm_n proviso_n proviso_n that_o no_o person_n try_v by_o a_o court_n marshal_n to_o be_v try_v etc._n etc._n proviso_n proviso_n that_o no_o person_n who_o shall_v be_v try_v by_o a_o court_n marshal_n for_o the_o same_o offence_n be_v try_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n etc._n etc._n proviso_n that_o this_o act_n shall_v continue_v in_o force_n for_o three_o year_n and_o from_o thence_o to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o next_o session_n of_o parliament_n anno_fw-la 7_o &_o 8_o will._n a_o act_n for_o the_o increase_n and_o encouragement_n of_o seaman_n etc._n etc._n forasmuch_o as_o the_o strength_n and_o safety_n of_o his_o majesty_n dominion_n do_v much_o depend_v on_o the_o supply_a his_o royal_a navy_n with_o a_o competent_a number_n of_o able_a seaman_n which_o may_v be_v ready_a at_o all_o time_n for_o that_o service_n preamble_n preamble_n to_o invite_v great_a number_n of_o his_o majesty_n subject_n to_o betake_v themselves_o to_o sea_n it_o be_v fit_a some_o provision_n shall_v be_v make_v that_o seaman_n who_o by_o age_n wound_n or_o other_o accident_n shall_v become_v disable_v for_o future_a service_n at_o sea_n and_o shall_v not_o be_v in_o a_o condition_n to_o maintain_v themselves_o comfortable_o may_v not_o fall_v under_o hardship_n and_o misery_n but_o may_v be_v support_v at_o the_o public_a charge_n and_o that_o the_o child_n of_o such_o disable_v seaman_n and_o also_o the_o widow_n and_o child_n of_o such_o seaman_n who_o shall_v happen_v to_o be_v slay_v or_o drown_v in_o sea_n service_n may_v in_o some_o reasonable_a manner_n be_v provide_v for_o and_o educate_v his_o majesty_n and_o her_o late_a majesty_n determine_v that_o a_o hospital_n shall_v be_v erect_v and_o endow_v for_o the_o purpose_n aforesaid_a and_o in_o order_n thereto_o by_o their_o letter_n patent_n give_v a_o parcel_n of_o ground_n in_o the_o manor_n of_o east_n geeenwich_n and_o their_o palace_n stand_v upon_o their_o say_a ground_n and_o several_a other_o building_n and_o thing_n mention_v in_o the_o say_a letter_n patent_n to_o the_o intent_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v convert_v to_o the_o service_n of_o a_o hospital_n for_o the_o relief_n of_o seaman_n their_o widow_n and_o child_n and_o encouragement_n of_o navigation_n and_o whereas_o his_o majesty_n in_o further_a execution_n of_o his_o pious_a intention_n for_o the_o sound_n of_o a_o hospital_n at_o greenwich_n for_o the_o purpose_n aforesaid_a have_v by_o his_o letter_n patent_n date_v the_o 10_o of_o december_n 1695._o constitute_v commissioner_n and_o grant_v a_o annual_a sum_n payable_a out_o of_o the_o treasury_n and_o give_v divers_a proper_a direction_n and_o authority_n for_o carry_v on_o and_o perfect_v the_o say_a hospital_n and_o the_o maintenance_n thereof_o and_o of_o the_o person_n to_o be_v place_v therein_o and_o to_o the_o intent_n that_o such_o mariner_n waterman_n seaman_n fisherman_n lighterman_n bargeman_n and_o keelman_n or_o seafaring_a man_n be_v natural_a bear_v subject_n of_o this_o realm_n or_o any_o of_o his_o majesty_n dominion_n or_o be_v in_o england_n and_o above_o the_o age_n of_o 18_o year_n or_o under_o the_o age_n of_o fifty_o year_n 18._o person_n under_o the_o age_n of_o 50_o and_o above_o 18._o and_o be_v capable_a of_o the_o sea_n service_n who_o shall_v be_v willing_a to_o enter_v and_o register_n himself_o for_o the_o service_n of_o his_o majesty_n in_o his_o royal_a fleet_n or_o navy_n may_v by_o himself_o or_o any_o person_n by_o he_o thereunto_o in_o write_v authorize_v or_o employ_v deliver_v and_o give_v in_o his_o christian_a name_n and_o surname_n with_o his_o age_n and_o place_n of_o his_o abide_v and_o habitation_n unto_o such_o officer_n as_o shall_v be_v appoint_v for_o the_o register_n of_o seaman_n as_o be_v herein_o after_o mention_v and_o that_o such_o and_o so_o many_o public_a officer_n for_o the_o register_n the_o person_n for_o sea_n service_n as_o aforesaid_a etc._n office_n and_o officer_n for_o register_n seaman_n etc._n etc._n shall_v be_v keep_v at_o his_o majesty_n charge_n at_o the_o navy-office_n in_o london_n and_o such_o of_o the_o principal_a officer_n of_o the_o navy_n or_o other_o person_n shall_v be_v appoint_v thereto_o and_o the_o make_n and_o keep_v such_o register_n shall_v be_v perform_v in_o such_o form_n and_o method_n as_o his_o majesty_n or_o the_o commissioner_n of_o the_o admiralty_n shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n prescribe_v and_o appoint_v so_o as_o that_o in_o the_o say_a register_n there_o shall_v be_v enter_v down_o and_o register_v in_o order_n and_o course_n of_o time_n as_o well_o the_o name_n surname_n addition_n age_n place_v of_o abide_v or_o habitation_n of_o all_o and_o every_o such_o mariner_n seaman_n waterman_n fisherman_n lighterman_n bargeman_n keelman_n or_o seafaring_a man_n as_o aforesaid_a and_o also_o the_o true_a day_n and_o time_n of_o such_o registry_n or_o entry_n for_o which_o no_o fee_n reward_n or_o gratuity_n whatsoever_o shall_v be_v demand_v or_o receive_v other_o than_o from_o his_o majesty_n and_o if_o any_o person_n shall_v know_o make_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v make_v in_o any_o of_o the_o say_a office_n any_o false_a entry_n of_o any_o person_n be_v name_n seaman_n wilful_a mis-entry_n of_o seaman_n etc._n etc._n he_o shall_v forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o one_o hundred_o pound_n one_o moiety_n to_o his_o majesty_n and_o the_o other_o to_o such_o person_n as_o shall_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o the_o respective_a registerer_n to_o be_v appoint_v registerer_n oath_n to_o be_v take_v by_o registerer_n shall_v before_o their_o entrance_n thereinto_o or_o intermeddle_v therewith_o take_v a_o oath_n before_o the_o judge_n of_o the_o admiralty_n or_o before_o two_o or_o more_o of_o his_o majesty_n justice_n of_o the_o peace_n for_o that_o county_n etc._n etc._n wherein_o such_o office_n shall_v be_v for_o the_o true_a and_o faithful_a execution_n thereof_o that_o the_o say_a navy_n office_n or_o such_o other_o office_n as_o shall_v be_v appoint_v by_o his_o majesty_n shall_v be_v call_v the_o head_n office_n whereto_o all_o the_o other_o registerer_n in_o the_o seaport_n shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n without_o any_o fee_n save_v from_o his_o majesty_n give_v certificate_n under_o their_o hand_n and_o seal_n of_o the_o number_n name_n place_n of_o abide_v and_o addition_n of_o all_o seaman_n waterman_n etc._n etc._n that_o shall_v be_v register_v within_o their_o respective_a office_n and_o of_o the_o true_a time_n when_o such_o entry_n be_v first_o make_v which_o certificate_n shall_v by_o the_o say_a register_n be_v file_v in_o course_n of_o time_n as_o they_o come_v in_o and_o the_o name_n of_o the_o seaman_n etc._n etc._n therein_o mention_v shall_v be_v in_o order_n of_o time_n and_o without_o any_o undue_a preference_n enter_v and_o register_v there_o also_o so_o that_o in_o that_o office_n the_o number_n name_n place_n of_o habitation_n of_o all_o seafaring_a man_n register_v throughout_o the_o kingdom_n and_o their_o respective_a time_n of_o come_v in_o to_o be_v register_v may_v from_o time_n to_o time_n appear_v a_o true_a copy_n of_o which_o shall_v once_o a_o year_n registry_n commissioner_n of_o admiralty_n to_o have_v copy_n of_o the_o registry_n or_o often_o if_o require_v be_v give_v by_o the_o officer_n at_o the_o head-office_n to_o the_o commissioner_n of_o the_o admiralty_n who_o be_v to_o give_v timely_a direction_n that_o such_o of_o they_o as_o they_o shall_v find_v most_o proper_a for_o his_o majesty_n service_n may_v from_o time_n to_o time_n in_o each_o year_n be_v dispose_v for_o the_o service_n of_o the_o fleet_n in_o every_o or_o any_o year_n begin_v from_o the_o first_o of_o january_n during_o which_o the_o number_n of_o register_v seaman_n then_o alive_a shall_v not_o exceed_v 30000._o every_o register_v seaman_n shall_v be_v allow_v from_o his_o majesty_n whether_o he_o
