to_o the_o king_n most_o excellent_a majesty_n the_o humble_a answer_n and_o petition_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o commons_o assemble_v in_o parliament_n to_o the_o king_n last_o message_n bear_v date_n the_o five_o of_o september_n 1642._o may_v it_o please_v your_o majesty_n if_o we_o the_o lord_n and_o commons_o in_o parliament_n assemble_v shall_v repeat_v all_o the_o way_n we_o have_v take_v the_o endeavour_n we_o have_v use_v and_o the_o expression_n we_o have_v make_v unto_o your_o majesty_n to_o prevent_v those_o distraction_n and_o danger_n your_o majesty_n speak_v of_o likely_a to_o fall_v upon_o this_o kingdom_n we_o shall_v too_o much_o enlarge_v this_o reply_n therefore_o as_o we_o humble_o so_o shall_v we_o only_o let_v your_o majesty_n know_v that_o we_o can_v recede_v from_o our_o former_a answer_n for_o the_o reason_n therein_o express_v for_o that_o your_o majesty_n have_v not_o take_v down_o your_o standard_n recall_v your_o proclamation_n and_o declaration_n whereby_o you_o have_v declare_v the_o action_n of_o both_o house_n of_o parliament_n to_o be_v treasonable_a and_o their_o person_n traitor_n and_o you_o have_v publish_v this_o same_o since_o your_o message_n of_o the_o 25_o of_o august_n by_o your_o late_a instruction_n send_v to_o your_o commissioner_n of_o array_n which_o standard_n be_v take_v down_o and_o the_o declaration_n proclamation_n and_o instruction_n recall_v if_o your_o majesty_n shall_v then_o upon_o this_o our_o humble_a petition_n leave_v your_o force_n return_v unto_o your_o parliament_n and_o receive_v their_o faithful_a advice_n your_o majesty_n will_v find_v such_o expression_n of_o our_o fidelity_n and_o duty_n as_o shall_v assure_v you_o that_o your_o safety_n honour_n and_o greatness_n can_v only_o be_v find_v in_o the_o affection_n of_o your_o people_n and_o the_o sincere_a counsel_n of_o your_o parliament_n who_o constant_a and_o undiscourage_v endeavour_n and_o consultation_n have_v pass_v through_o difficulty_n unheard_a of_o only_o to_o secure_v your_o kingdom_n from_o the_o violent_a mischief_n and_o danger_n now_o ready_a to_o fall_v upon_o they_o and_o every_o part_n of_o they_o who_o deserve_v better_a of_o your_o majesty_n and_o can_v never_o allow_v themselves_o represent_v likewise_o your_o whole_a kingdom_n to_o be_v balance_v with_o those_o person_n who_o desperate_a disposition_n and_o counsel_n prevail_v still_o so_o to_o interrupt_v all_o our_o endeavour_n for_o the_o relieve_n of_o bleed_a ireland_n as_o we_o may_v fear_v our_o labour_n and_o vast_a expense_n will_v be_v fruitless_a to_o that_o distress_a kingdom_n as_o your_o presence_n be_v thus_o desire_v by_o we_o so_o be_v it_o in_o our_o hope_n your_o majesty_n will_v in_o your_o reason_n believe_v there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n than_o this_o to_o make_v yourself_o happy_a and_o your_o kingdom_n safe_a john_n browne_n cleric_n parliament_n london_n print_v for_o hugh_n perry_n september_n 8._o 1642._o
