â§_o by_o the_o king_n ¶_o a_o proclamation_n against_o transportation_n of_o corn_n and_o graine_n forasmuch_o as_o we_o see_v apparent_o that_o there_o be_v already_o great_a scarcity_n of_o corn_n and_o grain_n of_o all_o sort_n and_o the_o same_o grow_v to_o very_o high_a rate_n and_o price_n and_o the_o weather_n also_o have_v long_o be_v and_o still_o continue_v so_o strange_a and_o unseasonable_a as_o it_o give_v no_o hope_n of_o amedment_n but_o rather_o be_v like_a much_o to_o impair_v the_o fruit_n of_o the_o earth_n that_o be_v to_o be_v expect_v of_o the_o next_o year_n so_o as_o the_o poor_a must_v needs_o suffer_v extreme_a want_n and_o the_o better_a sort_n also_o find_v it_o heavy_a and_o chargeable_a unto_o they_o except_o it_o please_v god_n to_o deal_v merciful_o with_o we_o and_o therefore_o wisdom_n require_v that_o all_o meant_n be_v use_v to_o prevent_v aswell_o exportation_n of_o corn_n and_o graine_n out_o of_o the_o kingdom_n as_o unnecessary_a waste_n and_o consumption_n thereof_o at_o home_n we_o threfore_o who_o care_v watch_n over_o our_o people_n to_o preserve_v they_o from_o all_o inconvenience_n although_o we_o be_v not_o ignorant_a that_o this_o height_n of_o price_n grow_v more_o out_o of_o the_o greedy_a covetousness_n of_o buyer_n and_o hourder_n of_o corn_n than_o out_o of_o the_o want_n or_o dearth_n thereof_o and_o though_o also_o the_o price_n of_o all_o kind_n of_o grain_n be_v and_o for_o some_o good_a time_n pass_v have_v be_v such_o as_o no_o transportation_n thereof_o can_v lawful_o be_v make_v by_o the_o law_n and_o statute_n of_o this_o realm_n yet_o to_o the_o end_n that_o the_o world_n may_v take_v knowledge_n of_o our_o extraordinary_a care_n in_o this_o behalf_n and_o that_o no_o man_n have_v hope_n to_o escape_v punishment_n if_o he_o offend_v from_o henceforth_o in_o this_o case_n we_o do_v by_o this_o our_o proclamation_n strait_o charge_n and_o command_v all_o and_o singular_a our_o subject_n and_o other_o person_n whatsoever_o that_o they_o nor_o any_o of_o they_o presume_v to_o carry_v or_o convey_v out_o of_o this_o realm_n direct_o or_o indirect_o and_o wheat_n rye_n barley_n malt_n date_n pease_n beanes_n fetch_n buck_n or_o any_o corn_n or_o grain_n whatsoever_o or_o the_o meal_n or_o flower_n thereof_o upon_o pain_n of_o our_o heavy_a displeasure_n and_o of_o such_o imprisonment_n and_o other_o punishment_n as_o upon_o the_o contemner_n of_o our_o royal_a commandment_n in_o so_o weighty_a and_o important_a cause_n be_v and_o aught_o to_o be_v inflict_v and_o we_o do_v likewise_o hereby_o as_o strait_o charge_n and_o command_v all_o our_o customer_n comptroller_n searcher_n waitour_n and_o other_o the_o minister_n of_o our_o port_n and_o the_o farmour_n of_o our_o custom_n and_o subsidy_n and_o all_o other_o person_n whatsoever_o that_o they_o suffer_v no_o such_o corn_n graine_n meal_n or_o flower_n as_o aforesaid_a to_o be_v convey_v or_o carry_v out_o of_o this_o realm_n but_o shall_v hinder_v and_o stop_v the_o same_o if_o they_o have_v mean_n so_o to_o do_v or_o else_o shall_v present_o upon_o knowledge_n thereof_o complain_v and_o give_v knowledge_n of_o it_o to_o some_o principal_a officer_n to_o the_o end_n it_o be_v prevent_v upon_o pain_n likewise_o of_o such_o punishment_n as_o be_v due_a to_o they_o that_o neglect_v our_o royal_a commandment_n give_v at_o newmarket_n the_o nineteeen_o of_o january_n in_o the_o ten_o year_n of_o our_o reign_n of_o great_a britain_n france_n and_o ireland_n god_n save_o the_o king_n ¶_o imprint_v at_o london_n by_o robert_n barker_n printer_n to_o the_o king_n most_o excellent_a majesty_n anno_fw-la dom_fw-la 1612._o
