ensue_a narrative_a concerning_o the_o same_o it_o may_v appear_v by_o the_o record_n of_o the_o exchequer_n that_o from_o the_o first_o cut_v of_o tree_n for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o iron-work_n in_o for_o ever_o have_v first_o under_o the_o great_a seal_n deaforre_v the_o same_o which_o deforrestation_n with_o all_o other_o of_o the_o like_a nature_n by_o his_o majesty_n or_o any_o of_o his_o predccessour_n be_v confirm_v by_o act_n of_o parliament_n 17._o which_o patent_n of_o deaforrestation_n by_o the_o late_a king_n be_v take_v from_o sir_n john_n wintour_n by_o general_n desborow_n or_o by_o his_o appointment_n there_o be_v reserve_v in_o the_o say_a patent_n to_o his_o majesty_n fifteen_o thousand_o tun_n of_o ship-timber_n without_o pay_v for_o the_o same_o with_o proviso_n if_o there_o prove_v not_o to_o be_v so_o much_o that_o then_o sir_n john_n wintour_n be_v to_o pay_v nine_o shilling_n for_o every_o tun_n that_o shall_v be_v want_v of_o the_o say_a quantity_n and_o if_o there_o prove_v to_o be_v more_o than_o the_o say_a fifteen_o thousand_o tun_n his_o majesty_n be_v to_o allow_v the_o say_a sir_n john_n wintour_n the_o like_a rate_n for_o such_o surplusage_n the_o like_a reservation_n upon_o the_o same_o term_n be_v make_v for_o the_o young_a tree_n more_o or_o leffe_a that_o shall_v be_v leave_v stand_v as_o aforesaid_a wherewith_o sr._n john_n wintour_n be_v chargeable_a for_o the_o preservation_n of_o so_o many_o as_o be_v grow_v upon_o the_o land_n improve_v and_o grant_v to_o he_o as_o above_o say_v but_o not_o of_o these_o grow_a on_o the_o 4000_o acre_n set_v out_o for_o common_a note_v that_o a_o tun_n of_o timber_n cut_v into_o cord-wood_n be_v not_o worth_a by_o a_o great_a deal_n so_o much_o as_o the_o rate_n abovesaid_a so_o that_o such_o misconversion_n of_o timber_n can_v not_o but_o be_v a_o great_a loss_n to_o the_o patentee_n moreover_o sr._n john_n wintour_n be_v oblige_v by_o the_o say_a patent_n to_o grant_v to_o sr._n bainham_n throgmorton_n sr._n sackvil_n crow_n john_n tailor_n and_o john_n gunning_n thirteen_o thousand_o five_o hundred_o cord_n of_o wood_n yearly_a with_o two_o of_o the_o furnace_n and_o four_o forge_v for_o six_o year_n whereby_o it_o appear_v that_o half_a of_o the_o wood_n in_o the_o say_a forest_n be_v to_o be_v cut_v down_o by_o they_o though_o all_o seem_v to_o be_v do_v by_o sr._n john_n wintour_n sr._n john_n wintour_n incoppice_v five_o thousand_o acre_n at_o least_o of_o the_o say_a soil_n for_o future_a growth_n of_o wood_n and_o timber_n which_o afterwards_o be_v destroy_v and_o burn_v by_o some_o disorderly_a and_o unknown_a person_n sr._n john_n wintour_n enjoy_v this_o patent_n but_o one_o year_n and_o a_o half_a and_o in_o that_o little_a time_n preserve_v and_o leave_v lie_v upon_o the_o ground_n seven_o thousand_o seven_o hundred_o ninety_o eight_o load_v and_o twenty_o eight_o foot_n of_o timber_n as_o appear_v upon_o record_n which_o be_v more_o than_o have_v be_v preserve_v in_o all_o the_o cut_n in_o that_o forest_n of_o twenty_o year_n before_o sr._n john_n wintour_n make_v no_o benefit_n of_o his_o patent_n at_o the_o present_a nor_o have_v do_v much_o of_o the_o timber_n for_o the_o say_a ship_n be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o lea_n baley_n which_o be_v total_o except_v out_o of_o his_o grant_n if_o a_o better_a way_n can_v be_v think_v on_o for_o the_o preservation_n of_o the_o ship-timber_n present_a or_o future_a or_o that_o more_o will_v be_v give_v his_o majesty_n than_o what_o he_o be_v to_o pay_v or_o that_o a_o great_a
