honi_fw-fr soit_fw-fr qvi_fw-fr mal_fw-fr y_fw-fr pense_fw-fr a_o copy_n of_o the_o four_o reason_n to_o dissuade_v the_o king_n from_o his_o journey_n into_o scotland_n for_o fourteen_o day_n long_o deliver_v by_o mr._n hollis_n to_o the_o lord_n at_o a_o conference_n 7._o august_n 1641._o m._n hollis_n go_v up_o to_o the_o lord_n with_o this_o conference_n from_o the_o house_n of_o commons_o i_o be_o command_v to_o put_v you_o in_o mind_n what_o have_v pass_v upon_o this_o occasion_n before_o concerning_o the_o king_n journey_n to_o scotland_n that_o both_o house_n do_v petition_v his_o majesty_n not_o to_o begin_v his_o journey_n till_o the_o ten_o of_o august_n and_o to_o acquaint_v the_o scots_a commissioner_n therewith_o who_o afterwards_o desire_v this_o house_n to_o express_v their_o resolution_n in_o the_o affirmative_a upon_o which_o the_o house_n of_o commons_o pass_v a_o resolution_n that_o then_o if_o his_o majesty_n please_v to_o go_v they_o will_v submit_v unto_o it_o i_o be_o command_v to_o declare_v unto_o your_o lordship_n that_o the_o house_n of_o commons_o be_v desirous_a to_o submit_v unto_o his_o majesty_n good_a pleasure_n in_o all_o thing_n but_o such_o be_v the_o present_a condition_n of_o this_o business_n as_o it_o now_o stand_v that_o they_o be_v enforce_v to_o present_v some_o further_a consideration_n to_o your_o lordship_n first_o that_o when_o they_o give_v this_o assent_n they_o be_v in_o hope_n both_o army_n will_v have_v be_v disband_v by_o that_o time_n but_o though_o there_o have_v be_v all_o possible_a mean_n use_v to_o that_o end_n yet_o it_o can_v not_o be_v effect_v so_o the_o same_o inconvenience_n do_v still_o continue_v second_o the_o treaty_n can_v in_o so_o short_a a_o time_n be_v finish_v be_v return_v from_o scotland_n but_o three_o day_n since_o but_o since_o it_o be_v ready_a to_o be_v finish_v and_o money_n be_v provide_v the_o army_n will_v be_v disband_v by_o that_o time_n we_o desire_v his_o majesty_n to_o take_v his_o journey_n three_o the_o distemper_n and_o jealousy_n of_o the_o kingdom_n be_v such_o that_o they_o can_v be_v compose_v by_o pass_v some_o act_n unless_o his_o majesty_n stay_v the_o desire_a time_n four_o no_o course_n be_v yet_o take_v for_o the_o government_n of_o the_o kingdom_n in_o his_o majesty_n absence_n there_o be_v so_o many_o weighty_a thing_n to_o be_v take_v into_o consideration_n upon_o these_o reason_n the_o house_n of_o commons_o have_v think_v fit_a to_o move_v your_o lordship_n to_o join_v with_o we_o in_o a_o petition_n to_o his_o majesty_n to_o stay_v his_o journey_n for_o 14._o day_n long_o and_o we_o make_v no_o doubt_n but_o our_o brethren_n in_o scotland_n will_v consider_v the_o straight_o we_o be_v in_o and_o for_o our_o safety_n condescend_v to_o our_o desire_n and_o if_o his_o majesty_n yield_v thereunto_o than_o we_o shall_v desire_v your_o lordship_n to_o join_v with_o we_o by_o some_o express_a messenger_n to_o the_o parliament_n in_o scotland_n for_o the_o king_n stay_v for_o that_o time_n which_o we_o hope_v will_v give_v they_o satisfaction_n print_v in_o the_o year_n 1641._o
