wr_fw-mi diev_n et_fw-fr mon_fw-fr droit_n honi_fw-fr soit_fw-fr qvi_fw-fr mal_fw-fr y_fw-fr pense_fw-fr by_o the_o king_n a_o proclamation_n for_o encourage_v mariner_n seaman_n and_o landman_n to_o enter_v themselves_o on_o board_n his_o majesty_n ship_n of_o war._n william_n r._n we_o be_v desirous_a to_o give_v all_o due_a encouragement_n to_o all_o such_o able_a seaman_n as_o have_v not_o be_v in_o our_o service_n the_o last_o year_n or_o be_v in_o the_o service_n have_v be_v regular_o discharge_v therefrom_o and_o also_o to_o able-bodied_n landman_n who_o shall_v voluntary_o enter_v themselves_o in_o our_o service_n and_o remain_v on_o board_n our_o ship_n of_o war_n in_o our_o royal_a navy_n have_v think_v fit_a by_o and_o with_o the_o advice_n of_o our_o privy_a council_n to_o publish_v this_o our_o royal_a proclamation_n and_o we_o do_v hereby_o promise_v and_o declare_v that_o all_o seaman_n and_o able-bodied_n landman_n who_o shall_v after_o the_o date_n of_o this_o our_o royal_a proclamation_n and_o before_o the_o fifteen_o day_n of_o march_n next_o voluntary_o enter_v themselves_o remain_v on_o board_n any_o of_o our_o ship_n of_o war_n or_o fire_n sip_n or_o on_o any_o press-vessel_n or_o tender_v belong_v to_o our_o fleet_n shall_v receive_v as_o our_o free_a gift_n and_o royal_a bounty_n the_o respective_a allowance_n and_o reward_n follow_v viz._n each_o able_a and_o ordinary_a seaman_n three_o month_n pay_v and_o each_o able-bodied_n landman_n one_o month_n pay_v to_o be_v pay_v to_o they_o before_o the_o ship_n they_o be_v to_o serve_v in_o shall_v go_v to_o sea_n and_o we_o do_v hereby_o command_v and_o require_v the_o say_v seaman_n and_o landman_n to_o repair_v on_o board_n the_o respective_a ship_n on_o which_o they_o shall_v so_o enter_v themselves_o and_o give_v their_o constant_a attendance_n for_o fit_v out_o to_o sea_n such_o ship_n as_o each_o of_o they_o do_v belong_v unto_o and_o we_o be_v also_o gracious_o please_v to_o declare_v that_o conduct-money_n according_a to_o the_o practice_n of_o the_o navy_n shall_v likewise_o be_v allow_v to_o such_o seaman_n and_o landman_n as_o shall_v voluntary_o enter_v themselves_o and_o remain_v on_o board_n any_o of_o our_o say_a ship_n according_a to_o the_o true_a mean_v of_o this_o our_o royal_a proclamation_n and_o for_o the_o prevention_n of_o any_o deceit_n and_o abuse_n that_o may_v happen_v by_o any_o person_n or_o person_n leave_v the_o ship_n to_o which_o they_o belong_v and_o enter_v he_o or_o themselves_o on_o board_n any_o other_o or_o our_o say_a ship_n as_o aforesaid_a in_o order_n to_o the_o obtain_v of_o the_o bounty-money_n herein_o before_o grant_v we_o do_v hereby_o likewise_o direct_a declare_v and_o command_v that_o such_o seaman_n and_o landman_n belong_v to_o any_o of_o our_o ship_n or_o vessel_n whatsoever_o as_o shall_v leave_v any_o of_o the_o ship_n or_o vessel_n to_o which_o they_o belong_v and_o enter_v themselves_o on_o board_n any_o of_o our_o ship_n in_o order_n to_o the_o obtain_v of_o the_o say_a bounty-money_n shall_v not_o only_o lose_v the_o wage_n due_a to_o they_o in_o the_o ship_n which_o they_o shall_v to_o leave_n but_o also_o be_v severe_o punish_v according_a to_o their_o demerit_n give_v at_o our_o court_n at_o kensington_n the_o one_o twenty_o day_n of_o january_n 1696_o 7_o in_o the_o eight_o year_n of_o our_o reign_n god_n save_v the_o king_n london_n print_v by_o charles_n bill_n and_o the_o executrix_n of_o thomas_n newcomb_n decease_v printer_n to_o the_o king_n mo_v excellent_a majesty_n 1696_o 7._o
