in_o feb_n 23_o 168●_n after_o his_o recovery_n from_o a_o dangerous_a sickness_n he_o write_v to_o he_o thus_o what_o shall_v i_o render_v to_o the_o lord_n for_o all_o his_o benefit_n who_o heal_v my_o disease_n and_o crow_v i_o with_o love_a kindness_n and_o tender_a mercy_n o_o that_o i_o may_v no_o more_o live_v to_o myself_o but_o to_o god_n my_o most_o gracious_a and_o almighty_a support_n and_o comfort_v i_o under_o my_o bodily_a pain_n and_o grant_v that_o i_o may_v whole_o resign_v myself_o to_o the_o will_n of_o my_o heavenly_a father_n i_o desire_v your_o prayer_n although_o i_o be_o chastise_v sore_o yet_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o give_v i_o over_o unto_o death_n not_o to_o a_o temporal_a death_n so_o long_o as_o the_o continuance_n of_o life_n may_v be_v to_o he_o wherein_o he_o say_v i_o have_v receive_v your_o very_a comfortable_a and_o christian_a letter_n the_o only_a fault_n in_o it_o be_v that_o it_o run_v in_o expression_n more_o suitable_a to_o those_o who_o be_v in_o some_o high_a degree_n of_o christian_a perfection_n than_o to_o i_o a_o vile_a sinner_n i_o be_o nothing_o but_o christ_n be_v all_o in_o all_o in_o i_o and_o for_o i_o to_o his_o brother_n of_o another_o relapse_n into_o sickness_n wherein_o he_o say_v i_o desire_v to_o bless_v god_n for_o the_o good_a of_o my_o soul_n through_o the_o affliction_n of_o my_o body_n pray_v that_o i_o may_v improve_v my_o affliction_n unto_o victory_n over_o sin_n and_o increase_v in_o all_o grace_n on_o november_n 22._o 1687._o he_o write_v how_o ill_o he_o be_v say_v with_o david_n day_n and_o night_n thy_o hand_n be_v heavy_a upon_o i_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n let_v he_o do_v with_o i_o what_o seem_v he_o good_a i_o be_o he_o by_o right_n of_o creation_n and_o therefore_o at_o the_o disposal_n of_o his_o sovereign_a will_n and_o i_o be_o also_o he_o by_o right_n of_o redemption_n and_o purchase_n in_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o therefore_o he_o more_o fit_v for_o communion_n with_o god_n here_o and_o for_o the_o full_a enjoyment_n of_o he_o for_o ever_o of_o which_o i_o be_o a_o expectant_a through_o the_o alone_a merit_n and_o mediation_n
