in_o nothing_o so_o much_o as_o in_o some_o worldly_a pleasure_n either_o of_o contentment_n or_o profit_n or_o friend_n of_o riches_n or_o honour_n but_o now_o the_o soul_n that_o have_v faith_n in_o it_o it_o delight_v in_o nothing_o so_o much_o as_o in_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o communion_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n thus_o i_o pray_v consider_v it_o though_o i_o pass_v from_o he_o and_o further_o that_o christ_n suffer_v in_o soul_n will_v appear_v by_o that_o in_o luke_n 22.44_o there_o say_v the_o text_n be_v in_o a_o agony_n he_o pray_v more_o earnest_o and_o his_o sweat_n be_v as_o it_o be_v great_a drop_n of_o blood_n fall_v to_o the_o ground_n if_o christ_n have_v only_o suffer_v in_o body_n how_o have_v it_o be_v possible_a that_o the_o fear_n he_o from_o heaven_n strengthen_v he_o if_o christ_n have_v nothing_o to_o do_v but_o suffer_v the_o death_n of_o his_o body_n what_o need_v a_o angel_n come_v to_o strengthen_v he_o man_n be_v able_a to_o bear_v the_o apprehension_n of_o a_o bodily_a death_n and_o shall_v we_o conceive_v christ_n can_v not_o bear_v it_o without_o the_o strengthen_n of_o a_o angel_n these_o thing_n plain_o show_v that_o christ_n do_v not_o only_o give_v himself_o up_o to_o the_o suffering_n of_o bodily_a wrath_n but_o to_o the_o suffering_n of_o soul_n the_o suffering_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o it_o must_v be_v so_o for_o if_o christ_n have_v not_o suffer_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n as_o well_o as_o the_o wrath_n of_o man_n christ_n have_v never_o do_v believer_n any_o good_a at_o all_o for_o the_o same_o nature_n that_o have_v sin_v must_v suffer_v and_o the_o soul_n of_o believer_n sin_v as_o well_o as_o the_o body_n therefore_o the_o soul_n of_o believer_n must_v suffer_v as_o well_o as_o the_o body_n the_o wrath_n of_o god_n be_v spiritual_a and_o therefore_o reach_v the_o soul_n as_o well_o as_o the_o body_n so_o that_o christ_n can_v never_o have_v be_v a_o ransom_n to_o believer_n from_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n nor_o a_o satisfaction_n to_o his_o justice_n if_o the_o soul_n of_o christ_n have_v not_o suffer_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n as_o well_o as_o his_o body_n be_v when_o the_o sun_n be_v set_v without_o all_o light_n so_o be_v the_o soul_n of_o christ_n in_o regard_n of_o sense_n without_o all_o love_n without_o all_o favour_n without_o all_o presence_n of_o god_n at_o all_o my_o god_n my_o god_n why_o have_v thou_o forsake_v i_o in_o regard_n of_o sense_n he_o suffer_v the_o loss_n of_o god_n the_o loss_n of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n and_o this_o be_v more_o to_o christ_n then_o a_o thousand_o death_n indeed_o christ_n have_v the_o favour_n and_o the_o love_n of_o god_n but_o all_o sense_n of_o it_o be_v perfect_o withdraw_v second_o affection_n to_o believer_n upon_o three_o ground_n first_o because_o they_o be_v god_n choose_v and_o christ_n love_v god_n can_v not_o choose_v but_o love_v they_o second_o because_o they_o be_v his_o own_o choose_a for_o he_o have_v choose_v they_o as_o well_o as_o god_n the_o father_n three_o because_o by_o god_n the_o father_n they_o be_v give_v to_o he_o as_o he_o himself_o say_v john_n grace_n sure_o there_o be_v ground_n enough_o for_o your_o rejoice_v notwithstanding_o all_o your_o fail_n consider_v therefore_o then_o my_o brethren_n i_o beseech_v you_o do_v not_o you_o receive_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o vain_a do_v not_o you_o slight_v as_o it_o be_v and_o not_o make_v use_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n which_o thus_o administer_v matter_n of_o rejoice_v in_o all_o they_o all_o this_o sorrow_n the_o more_o of_o it_o the_o better_a this_o sorrow_n mellow_v the_o heart_n soften_v the_o heart_n make_v it_o frameable_a to_o the_o impression_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o now_o the_o other_o sorrow_n which_o be_v a_o worldly_a sorrow_n when_o as_o a_o soul_n be_v beat_v out_o of_o heart_n because_o of_o sin_n former_o commit_v because_o of_o mighty_a corruption_n that_o do_v annoy_v he_o to_o mourn_v without_o hope_n and_o confidence_n of_o acceptance_n this_o be_v worldly_a sorrow_n and_o cause_v death_n this_o be_v altogether_o unbeseeming_a christian_n receive_v now_o this_o sharp_a reprehension_n and_o be_v humble_v for_o it_o and_o labour_n to_o remember_v your_o condition_n you_o be_v not_o come_v to_o mount_v sinai_n but_o to_o mount_v zion_n you_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n but_o under_o grace_n therefore_o rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n always_o and_o be_v so_o cheerful_a that_o the_o world_n may_v see_v that_o the_o service_n of_o christ_n be_v a_o sweet_a service_n here_o be_v the_o second_o use_n the_o three_o be_v for_o instruction_n to_o they_o that_o be_v not_o in_o christ_n to_o such_o of_o you_o as_o remain_v yet_o in_o your_o natural_a estate_n the_o condition_n of_o they_o that_o be_v in_o christ_n be_v this_o they_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n but_o under_o grace_n thy_o condition_n who_o be_v not_o yet_o in_o christ_n be_v just_a the_o contrary_a thou_o be_v not_o under_o grace_n but_o under_o the_o law_n there_o be_v none_o that_o do_v more_o assume_v to_o themselves_o the_o privilege_n of_o grace_n than_o they_o that_o be_v not_o under_o grace_n you_o shall_v have_v your_o profane_a wretch_n your_o paint_a civilian_n your_o formal_a hypocrite_n man_n that_o be_v dead_a in_o trespass_n and_o sin_n that_o be_v servant_n to_o sin_n while_o with_o full_a consent_n they_o obey_v sin_n in_o the_o lust_n thereof_o yet_o you_o shall_v have_v these_o challenge_n to_o themselves_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n you_o shall_v have_v one_o swear_v a_o oath_n and_o when_o he_o have_v do_v say_v god_n forgive_v i_o you_o shall_v have_v another_o grace_n but_o under_o the_o law_n what_o be_v that_o you_o be_v in_o such_o a_o condition_n wherein_o nothing_o but_o perfect_a obedience_n shall_v stand_v you_o in_o stead_n if_o you_o pray_v as_o well_o as_o you_o can_v yet_o if_o you_o do_v not_o pray_v as_o perfect_o as_o god_n command_v in_o the_o law_n you_o shall_v never_o be_v hear_v if_o you_o keep_v all_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n keep_v from_o heaven_n for_o ever_o david_n commit_v a_o great_a sin_n for_o the_o matter_n of_o it_o he_o commit_v adultery_n murther_v vriah_n lie_v in_o the_o sin_n almost_o a_o twelvemonth_n and_o abundance_n of_o outward_a comfort_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o quiet_v till_o it_o rest_n and_o pitch_v itself_o upon_o the_o lord_n and_o find_v and_o feel_v that_o evidence_n and_o assurance_n of_o his_o love_n which_o he_o have_v promise_v unto_o and_o will_v bestow_v on_o those_o who_o love_v he_o as_o for_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o he_o have_v but_o a_o slight_a and_o mean_v and_o base_a never_o have_v nor_o never_o shall_v have_v christ_n that_o do_v not_o prize_v he_o above_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n no_o certain_o a_o faithful_a soul_n breathe_v after_o nothing_o so_o
