without_o meat_n so_o it_o be_v in_o the_o true_a desire_n of_o grace_n fetch_v one_o all_o the_o gold_n of_o ophir_n all_o the_o honour_n and_o pleasure_n of_o the_o earth_n all_o content_n under_o heaven_n can_v satisfy_v he_o but_o grace_n he_o must_v have_v grace_n no_o content_n in_o any_o thing_n else_o but_o grace_n grace_n 3d._o a_o hunger_n be_v irrepulsable_a it_o will_v bear_v no_o repulse_n of_o cost_n when_o it_o will_v afford_v to_o give_v large_a sum_n for_o mean_a food_n nor_o of_o pain_n as_o appear_v by_o the_o woman_n that_o go_v five_o mile_n in_o the_o famine_n for_o food_n it_o will_v bear_v no_o repulse_n for_o be_v a_o man_n a_o lord_n it_o will_v make_v he_o beg_v rather_o than_o withstand_v it_o so_o the_o true_a desire_n of_o grace_n be_v irrepulsable_a who_o so_o true_o desire_v it_o an_o can_v get_v it_o he_o will_v not_o let_v god_n alone_o nor_o suffer_v he_o to_o rest_v but_o beg_v and_o cry_v for_o it_o oh_o he_o can_v be_v content_a to_o give_v all_o he_o have_v for_o it_o and_o if_o any_o thing_n in_o himself_o hinder_v he_o will_v willing_o cast_v it_o off_o he_o will_v go_v through_o thick_a and_o thin_a he_o will_v endure_v any_o contempt_n any_o disgrace_n for_o it_o if_o he_o suffer_v any_o disgrace_n any_o reproach_n for_o grace_n he_o glory_v and_o rejoice_v in_o it_o four_o hunger_n be_v humble_a it_o be_v not_o choice_n in_o its_o meat_n if_o it_o can_v have_v pleasant_n and_o dainty_n it_o will_v be_v content_a with_o farmer_n food_n yea_o any_o thing_n pigeon_n dung_n will_v be_v good_a food_n so_o he_o that_o true_o desire_v grace_n be_v of_o a_o humble_a heart_n he_o can_v be_v content_a to_o welcome_v child_n crumb_n and_o account_v it_o preferment_n to_o sit_v with_o christ_n his_o dog_n though_o with_o paul_n widow_n they_o wash_v the_o saint_n foot_n though_o with_o david_n they_o be_v doorkeeper_n in_o god_n house_n yet_o so_o they_o may_v have_v grace_n they_o care_v not_o though_o the_o whole_a world_n trample_v upon_o they_o though_o they_o be_v account_v the_o off-scowr_n of_o all_o thing_n second_o it_o be_v a_o supernatural_a appetite_n and_o that_o to_o distinguish_v from_o a_o natural_a which_o natural_a man_n have_v and_o yet_o hate_v grace_n every_o man_n natural_o have_v a_o care_n of_o his_o own_o preservation_n wherefore_o see_v he_o can_v be_v save_v but_o must_v quiet_a again_o and_o the_o pinch_n over_o he_o do_v willing_o yield_v himself_o to_o all_o his_o former_a lust_n some_o have_v show_v from_o that_o place_n 1_o pet._n 1._o vers._n 12._o that_o the_o very_a devil_n have_v desire_v the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o redemption_n by_o christ_n though_o other_o be_v of_o judgement_n that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o meaning_n of_o the_o apostle_n in_o that_o the_o gospel_n and_o seem_v to_o love_v it_o but_o when_o the_o gospel_n and_o these_o thing_n part_n than_o they_o and_o the_o gospel_n part_n also_o but_o the_o true_a desire_n of_o grace_n be_v for_o the_o goodness_n that_o be_v in_o it_o balaam_n can_v desire_v even_o the_o very_a heart_n of_o a_o righteous_a man_n but_o it_o be_v when_o he_o shall_v be_v die_v for_o he_o see_v that_o if_o have_v rather_o have_v a_o 1000_o pound_n than_o true_a grace_n that_o the_o covetous_a man_n have_v rather_o be_v in_o his_o count_a house_n account_v his_o interest-money_n and_o his_o gain_n than_o at_o the_o house_n of_o god_n to_o hear_v a_o sermon_n because_o they_o be_v carnal_o discern_v but_o these_o thing_n of_o god_n be_v spiritual_o discern_v if_o we_o that_o be_v the_o minister_n of_o god_n can_v drop_n shilling_n and_o pound_n among_o man_n in_o our_o preach_n to_o they_o they_o will_v come_v to_o the_o church_n more_o due_o and_o hear_v more_o eagarly_a and_o affectionate_o but_o when_o we_o deliver_v the_o thing_n of_o god_n and_o the_o everlasting_a mystery_n of_o salvation_n which_o be_v above_o their_o reach_n and_o understanding_n if_o they_o come_v to_o church_n they_o fire_n can_v desire_v water_n nor_o water_n fire_n because_o they_o be_v contrary_a one_o expel_v the_o other_o for_o either_o the_o water_n will_v quench_v the_o fire_n or_o else_o the_o fire_n will_v lick_v up_o the_o water_n so_o nature_n and_o grace_n do_v thwart_v one_o another_o nature_n will_v have_v a_o man_n love_v himself_o grace_n forbid_v it_o and_o command_v to_o love_n god_n nature_n will_v have_v a_o man_n to_o be_v wrathful_a choleric_a and_o give_v to_o revenge_n upon_o every_o small_a provocation_n but_o grace_n forbid_v all_o these_o and_o the_o like_a the_o wisdom_n spiritual_a thing_n but_o with_o earthly_a so_o a_o spiritual_a emptiness_n must_v have_v a_o spiritual_a replenishment_n can_v a_o man_n fill_v a_o house_n with_o grace_n no_o a_o house_n be_v a_o body_n and_o therefore_o must_v have_v household_n stuff_n and_o the_o like_a which_o be_v body_n to_o fill_v it_o so_o the_o soul_n which_o be_v incorporeal_a be_v not_o fill_v with_o body_n with_o
