brotherhood_n high_a degree_n yet_o brother_n levell_v they_o if_o they_o be_v of_o low_a degree_n yet_o it_o fill_v they_o up_o &_o raise_v they_o to_o the_o height_n in_o this_o brotherhood_n and_o therefore_o go_v tell_v my_o brethren_n tell_v they_o all_o for_o they_o be_v all_o equal_o brethren_n if_o i_o be_v to_o speak_v to_o person_n of_o quality_n and_o great_a part_n as_o i_o be_o to_o speak_v to_o mean_v let_v they_o be_v put_v in_o mind_n of_o their_o condition_n nothing_o shall_v raise_v we_o up_o so_o high_a as_o to_o forget_v the_o everlasting_a relation_n of_o brother_n be_v adopt_v have_v the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n in_o some_o degree_n god_n send_v his_o spirit_n into_o their_o heart_n that_o assure_v they_o that_o they_o be_v god_n child_n and_o howsoever_o this_o be_v the_o first_o yet_o god_n give_v some_o intimation_n by_o his_o spirit_n that_o they_o look_v to_o god_n in_o another_o familiar_a manner_n then_o before_o and_o he_o look_v on_o they_o in_o a_o fatherly_a manner_n so_o there_o be_v some_o intimation_n and_o insinuation_n and_o hint_n though_o the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n witness_v not_o full_o and_o glorious_o to_o the_o soul_n always_o because_o we_o be_v not_o fit_v for_o it_o but_o sometime_o in_o great_a affliction_n and_o desertion_n where_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v there_o be_v communion_n with_o god_n in_o the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n and_o when_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n speak_v not_o loud_o yet_o there_o be_v a_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n there_o be_v something_o in_o we_o renew_v by_o the_o spirit_n there_o be_v something_o of_o the_o new_a creature_n when_o a_o christian_a can_v hear_v god_n say_v to_o his_o soul_n i_o be_o thy_o salvation_n yet_o a_o man_n may_v see_v a_o work_n of_o grace_n there_o be_v a_o love_n to_o god_n to_o the_o ordinance_n to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n a_o mourning_n because_o it_o he_o can_v mourn_v a_o sigh_v because_o he_o have_v his_o sorrow_n and_o grief_n to_o god_n and_o leave_v they_o in_o his_o bosom_n they_o be_v break_v word_n perhaps_o but_o god_n can_v pluck_v sense_n out_o of_o they_o god_n know_v the_o meaning_n of_o the_o sigh_v of_o his_o own_o spirit_n though_o break_a speech_n so_o that_o where_o there_o be_v any_o tongue_n for_o god_n in_o a_o man_n there_o be_v a_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n there_o be_v not_o a_o strangeness_n of_o god_n to_o go_v altogether_o by_o but_o the_o spirit_n have_v a_o kind_n of_o acquaintance_n with_o god_n and_o it_o go_v to_o god_n in_o a_o familiarity_n and_o lay_v forth_o grief_n and_o put_v forth_o petition_n in_o another_o manner_n than_o the_o world_n do_v again_o a_o christian_a in_o the_o worst_a condition_n god_n not_o only_o shine_v on_o he_o through_o the_o cloud_n but_o there_o be_v a_o spirit_n in_o he_o that_o sigh_v to_o go_v through_o all_o thick_a cloud_n to_o god_n there_o be_v a_o spirit_n of_o supplication_n and_o of_o love_n in_o some_o degree_n for_o that_o be_v promise_v the_o spirit_n shall_v help_v our_o infirmity_n when_o we_o know_v not_o how_o to_o pray_v the_o intercourse_n and_o communion_n god_n with_o god_n be_v never_o break_v off_o where_o there_o be_v any_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n therefore_o ionas_n and_o david_n and_o the_o rest_n though_o they_o can_v not_o pray_v yet_o they_o sigh_v to_o god_n and_o will_v not_o leave_v he_o if_o they_o can_v not_o embrace_v christ_n they_o will_v touch_v the_o hem_n of_o his_o garment_n they_o will_v not_o yield_v to_o the_o stream_n altogether_o but_o strive_v against_o it_o and_o though_o they_o be_v carry_v away_o with_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o stream_n and_o see_v no_o goodness_n in_o themselves_o yet_o they_o that_o be_v with_o they_o shall_v see_v a_o spirit_n strive_v to_o another_o condition_n than_o they_o be_v in_o something_o of_o christ_n something_o of_o god_n spirit_n there_o will_v be_v in_o they_o and_o take_v they_o at_o the_o worst_a they_o will_v appear_v better_a than_o the_o civil_a man_n that_o think_v himself_o a_o glorious_a man_n though_o he_o have_v nothing_o but_o for_o show_v and_o fashion_n who_o will_v be_v in_o such_o a_o man_n condition_n without_o some_o brokenness_n of_o heart_n some_o sigh_n 2._o likewise_o we_o may_v know_v it_o by_o our_o sympathy_n and_o antipathy_n our_o sympathy_n with_o they_o that_o be_v good_a and_o antipathy_n
to_o that_o which_o be_v naught_o there_o be_v a_o love_n of_o that_o which_o be_v good_a so_o thing_n good_a thing_n be_v connatural_a to_o a_o good_a man_n there_o be_v a_o man_n relish_n in_o good_a company_n and_o good_a thing_n as_o there_o be_v sweetness_n in_o the_o best_a thing_n so_o there_o be_v something_o in_o the_o child_n of_o god_n that_o be_v answerable_a to_o the_o god_n who_o they_o serve_v he_o be_v never_o so_o out_o of_o taste_n but_o he_o find_v his_o chief_a comfort_n in_o this_o thing_n and_o he_o be_v never_o himself_o so_o much_o as_o when_o he_o be_v conversant_a in_o these_o thing_n though_o in_o different_a measure_n sometime_o more_o and_o sometime_o less_o there_o be_v a_o inward_a antipathy_n to_o god_n in_o a_o proud_a carnal_a man_n that_o have_v not_o his_o heart_n subdue_v by_o grace_n there_o be_v a_o contrariety_n to_o the_o power_n of_o that_o grace_n which_o outward_o he_o profess_v and_o a_o sympathy_n with_o the_o world_n and_o
