our_o faith_n and_o religion_n but_o as_o the_o cause_n and_o the_o mean_n of_o our_o salvation_n be_v manifold_a so_o also_o do_v he_o gather_v manifold_a objection_n against_o every_o one_o of_o they_o if_o they_o true_o appertain_v unto_o we_o that_o so_o he_o may_v impugn_v and_o raze_v our_o faith_n or_o else_o do_v fill_v we_o with_o vain_a presumption_n persuade_v we_o that_o all_o the_o be_v god_n eternal_a love_n and_o immutable_a goodwill_n wherewith_o he_o have_v love_v his_o creature_n from_o before_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o world_n be_v lay_v the_o which_o love_n and_o travail_v in_o pain_n together_o as_o the_o apostle_n show_v rom._n 8.22_o yea_o though_o it_o even_o weari_v god_n himself_o in_o suffer_v and_o bear_v with_o it_o as_o it_o be_v esa_n 43.24_o yet_o do_v they_o walk_v bolt_n upright_o and_o with_o stretch_a out_o neck_n never_o so_o much_o as_o stoop_v under_o this_o unsupportable_a burden_n till_o at_o last_o it_o grow_v so_o heavy_a that_o it_o overwhelm_v they_o and_o press_v they_o down_o to_o the_o bottom_n of_o hell_n the_o reason_n here_o of_o be_v because_o they_o be_v whole_o plunge_v yea_o drown_a and_o dead_a in_o their_o sin_n and_o therefore_o as_o those_o who_o be_v dive_v to_o the_o bottom_n of_o some_o deep_a water_n do_v not_o feel_v the_o weight_n of_o that_o which_o be_v above_o they_o whereas_o if_o they_o be_v pull_v out_o of_o the_o water_n they_o will_v be_v overwhelm_v with_o the_o burden_n of_o one_o ton_n so_o those_o who_o be_v deep_o plunge_v into_o the_o gulf_n of_o sin_n and_o wickedness_n do_v not_o feel_v the_o weight_n of_o this_o intolerable_a burden_n but_o if_o once_o they_o come_v out_o of_o their_o sin_n by_o unfeigned_a repentance_n the_o weight_n of_o some_o few_o of_o they_o will_v press_v they_o down_o unto_o the_o gate_n of_o hell_n
lust_n thereof_o and_o to_o serve_v the_o lord_n in_o holiness_n and_o newness_n of_o life_n and_o if_o we_o believe_v in_o jesus_n christ_n rest_v upon_o he_o for_o our_o salvation_n or_o though_o present_o we_o feel_v not_o this_o faith_n and_o repentance_n yet_o if_o ever_o in_o former_a time_n we_o have_v discern_v it_o in_o we_o that_o then_o we_o be_v receive_v into_o god_n love_n and_o sound_a reason_n to_o persuade_v we_o that_o we_o be_v subject_a to_o his_o wrathful_a displeasure_n see_v the_o be_v of_o a_o thing_n and_o the_o sensible_a discern_v of_o the_o thing_n to_o be_v be_v diverse_a and_o therefore_o howsoever_o at_o sometime_o they_o concur_v yet_o oftentimes_o they_o be_v sever_v and_o disjoin_v so_o that_o the_o conclusion_n which_o be_v infer_v negative_o from_o the_o sense_n to_o prove_v the_o not_o be_v of_o their_o object_n be_v not_o only_o common_o false_a but_o also_o oftentimes_o absurd_a and_o ridiculous_a for_o example_n sometime_o we_o see_v not_o the_o beam_n of_o the_o sun_n as_o in_o the_o night_n season_n or_o when_o it_o be_v cover_v with_o some_o thick_a black_a cloud_n but_o shall_v we_o herehence_a conclude_v that_o the_o sun_n shine_v not_o nor_o will_v ever_o again_o appear_v unto_o we_o so_o the_o bright_a beam_n of_o god_n love_n and_o favour_n be_v sometime_o hide_v from_o we_o in_o the_o night_n of_o tentation_n and_o his_o sensible_a argument_n and_o so_o in_o like_a manner_n god_n favour_n and_o love_n be_v sometime_o so_o eclipse_v with_o the_o interposition_n of_o some_o great_a affliction_n that_o we_o can_v discern_v they_o for_o a_o time_n or_o but_o very_o dim_o but_o if_o we_o shall_v infer_v hereof_o that_o they_o be_v quite_o take_v from_o we_o and_o that_o they_o cast_v forth_o no_o comfortable_a influence_n on_o we_o our_o present_a preservation_n from_o be_v swallow_v up_o into_o utter_a destruction_n and_o the_o speedy_a return_n of_o wont_a joy_n and_o consolation_n by_o the_o
