moon_n to_o stand_v still_o the_o sea_n and_o wind_n to_o be_v quiet_a the_o whale_n that_o it_o shall_v disgorge_v ionas_n and_o the_o fever_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v go_v to_o obtain_v obedience_n from_o they_o he_o speak_v to_o they_o but_o one_o word_n and_o the_o effect_n be_v as_o ready_a as_o the_o command_n for_o heaven_n earth_n element_n plant_n and_o the_o beast_n know_v the_o voice_n of_o their_o sovereign_a lord_n and_o submit_v themselves_o to_o it_o without_o contradiction_n but_o whereas_o man_n be_v natural_o refractory_a and_o oppose_v himself_o to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n he_o be_v not_o content_a to_o speak_v to_o he_o in_o few_o word_n what_o his_o pleasure_n be_v but_o incourage_v he_o with_o reason_n which_o he_o clear_v and_o inculcate_v and_o withal_o adjoin_v promise_n and_o menace_n sure_o god_n can_v effect_v by_o one_o word_n only_o that_o for_o which_o he_o use_v such_o long_a remonstrance_n he_o make_v himself_o to_o be_v obey_v sometime_o in_o say_v only_a fellow_n i_o but_o to_o make_v man_n know_v how_o far_o they_o be_v depart_v from_o he_o and_o how_o difficult_a their_o conversion_n be_v ordinary_o he_o do_v not_o make_v they_o draw_v nigh_o to_o he_o but_o by_o degree_n slow_o and_o after_o many_o summons_n why_o the_o scripture_n speak_v of_o virtue_n and_o vice_n do_v command_n or_o prohibit_v one_o often_o than_o another_o for_o example_n it_o speak_v often_o against_o avarice_n then_o against_o prodigality_n though_o it_o condemn_v both_o so_o against_o excessive_a care_n often_o than_o against_o negligence_n and_o so_o likewise_o it_o often_o recommend_v to_o we_o liberality_n then_o frugality_n though_o it_o mention_v both_o the_o reason_n be_v plain_a enough_o because_o avarice_n be_v more_o general_a than_o prodigality_n and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n there_o be_v more_o frugal_a than_o liberal_a man_n therefore_o the_o more_o common_a a_o vice_n be_v the_o often_o it_o shall_v be_v cry_v down_o on_o the_o contrary_a a_o virtue_n which_o be_v find_v but_o seldom_o aught_o to_o be_v the_o often_o recommend_v we_o can_v produce_v many_o other_o passage_n upon_o these_o subject_n of_o virtue_n and_o vice_n but_o see_v we_o have_v undertake_v only_o these_o observation_n which_o concern_v the_o decalogue_n in_o general_n in_o each_o one_o of_o the_o commandment_n i_o pass_v to_o these_o which_o i_o be_o to_o handle_v upon_o the_o subject_a of_o prayer_n finis_fw-la
