say_v he_o hearty_o acknowledge_v and_o believe_v the_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n to_o be_v in_o themselves_o truth_n as_o certain_a and_o insallible_a as_o the_o very_a common_a principle_n of_o geometry_n and_o metaphysic_n but_o that_o there_o be_v require_v of_o we_o a_o knowledge_n of_o they_o or_o a_o adherence_n to_o they_o as_o certain_a as_o that_o of_o sense_n or_o science_n that_o such_o a_o certainty_n be_v require_v of_o we_o under_o pain_n of_o damnation_n so_o that_o no_o man_n can_v hope_v to_o be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o salvation_n but_o he_o that_o find_v in_o himself_o such_o a_o degree_n of_o faith_n such_o a_o strength_n of_o adherence_n this_o i_o have_v already_o demonstrate_v to_o be_v a_o great_a error_n and_o of_o dangerous_a and_o pernicious_a consequence_n thus_o mr._n chillingworth_n c._n 6._o §_o 3._o we_o see_v now_o what_o it_o be_v that_o this_o great_a man_n say_v viz._n that_o a_o certainty_n equal_a to_o that_o of_o sense_n or_o science_n be_v not_o require_v of_o all_o man_n under_o pain_n of_o damnation_n so_o that_o no_o man_n can_v be_v in_o a_o state_n of_o salvation_n that_o have_v it_o not_o but_o god_n may_v grant_v that_o degree_n of_o certainty_n to_o some_o which_o he_o do_v not_o require_v under_o pain_n of_o damnation_n of_o all_o mr._n lock_v far_o tell_v we_o that_o there_o be_v not_o require_v of_o we_o a_o knowledge_n of_o the_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o a_o adherence_n to_o they_o as_o certain_a as_o that_o of_o sense_n or_o science_n and_o that_o for_o this_o reason_n among_o other_o viz._n that_o faith_n be_v not_o knowledge_n no_o more_o than_o three_o be_v four_o but_o eminent_o contain_v in_o it_o so_o that_o he_o that_o know_v believe_v and_o something_o more_o but_o he_o that_o believe_v many_o time_n do_v not_o know_v nay_o if_o he_o do_v bare_o and_o mere_o believe_v he_o do_v never_o know_v these_o be_v mr._n chillingworth_n own_o word_n thus_o mr._n lock_n and_o i_o grant_v that_o the_o word_n faith_n be_v not_o knowledge_n etc._n etc._n be_v mr._n chillingworth_n but_o these_o and_o that_o for_o this_o reason_n among_o other_o be_v not_o he_o but_o mr._n
