a_o particular_a number_n to_o himself_o out_o of_o the_o corrupt_a mass_n of_o fall_a mankind_n on_o who_o he_o decree_v unchangeable_o to_o show_v mercy_n leave_v the_o rest_n with_o a_o full_a purpose_n never_o to_o recover_v they_o to_o life_n and_o salvation_n reflect_v on_o god_n the_o high_a cruelty_n imaginable_a answ_n to_o this_o seem_v plausible_a objection_n i_o shall_v reply_v in_o the_o particular_n follow_v first_o i_o have_v make_v it_o evident_a from_o god_n own_o word_n that_o god_n have_v undeniable_o elect_v a_o certain_a particular_a number_n to_o himself_o out_o of_o the_o corrupt_a mass_n of_o fall_a mankind_n on_o who_o he_o unchangeable_o decree_v to_o show_v mercy_n leave_v the_o rest_n not_o so_o elect_v in_o that_o state_n of_o sin_n and_o misery_n into_o which_o they_o voluntary_o run_v themselves_o second_o by_o way_n of_o query_n i_o desire_v to_o know_v by_o what_o scripture_n divine_a the_o quaker_n or_o any_o who_o be_v their_o abettor_n in_o this_o point_n can_v justify_v their_o bring_n in_o lie_n to_o plead_v for_o god_n or_o wherein_o do_v it_o appear_v that_o his_o truth_n stand_v in_o need_n of_o be_v uphold_v by_o the_o figment_n of_o their_o vertiginous_a brain_n job_n put_v such_o a_o like_a question_n to_o his_o three_o friend_n who_o all_o seem_v to_o take_v part_n with_o god_n against_o himself_o job_n 13.7_o will_v you_o speak_v wicked_o for_o god_n and_o talk_v deceitful_o for_o he_o verse_n 8._o will_v you_o accept_v his_o person_n will_v you_o contend_v for_o god_n verse_n 9_o be_v it_o good_a that_o so_o tender_a compassionate_a and_o kind_a as_o to_o love_v all_o his_o creature_n with_o a_o equal_a love_n and_o consequent_o that_o to_o six_o his_o love_n on_o a_o small_a and_o particular_a number_n to_o who_o his_o special_a grace_n and_o favour_n shall_v be_v extend_v and_o to_o pass_v by_o the_o great_a number_n on_o who_o to_o resolve_v never_o to_o show_v mercy_n be_v altogether_o inconsistent_a with_o the_o tender_a kind_a and_o merciful_a nature_n of_o god_n now_o whether_o these_o man_n do_v not_o in_o pretence_n of_o plead_v for_o god_n cause_v as_o much_o as_o in_o they_o lie_v both_o his_o attribute_n his_o counsel_n and_o his_o word_n to_o clash_v and_o contradict_v each_o other_o i_o leave_v to_o the_o judicious_a and_o unprejudiced_a reader_n to_o judge_v i_o demand_v from_o john_n burnyeat_v and_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o quaker_n who_o join_v with_o he_o in_o challenge_v i_o to_o make_v out_o by_o the_o scripture_n of_o truth_n that_o doctrine_n which_o i_o be_o now_o defend_v against_o they_o why_o or_o wherefore_o god_n be_v so_o strict_a and_o severe_a as_o to_o confine_v those_o angel_n which_o of_o their_o own_o accord_n fall_v from_o that_o because_o god_n arm_v can_v not_o reach_v to_o help_v and_o deliver_v they_o they_o dare_v not_o say_v so_o neither_o be_v it_o because_o god_n have_v no_o bowel_n of_o mercy_n and_o compassion_n in_o he_o towards_o his_o creature_n this_o can_v be_v suppose_v to_o be_v the_o reason_n for_o alas_o this_o viz._n the_o tender_a and_o merciful_a nature_n of_o god_n to_o his_o creature_n in_o general_n be_v the_o argument_n whereby_o they_o will_v overthrow_v the_o doctrine_n of_o particular_a election_n what_o be_v the_o reason_n then_o do_v the_o angel_n fall_v by_o sin_n and_o apostasy_n yes_o they_o can_v deny_v it_o unless_o they_o deny_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v the_o scripture_n of_o truth_n and_o be_v those_o angel_n all_o of_o they_o send_v forthwith_o to_o hell_n for_o their_o apostasy_n and_o rebellion_n this_o they_o can_v deny_v be_v not_o the_o least_o dram_n of_o mercy_n show_v to_o one_o of_o that_o numberless_a number_n which_o fall_v they_o dare_v not_o affirm_v
