etc._n etc._n now_o this_o be_v so_o universal_a a_o delusion_n among_o most_o man_n in_o the_o world_n that_o if_o they_o have_v hope_n of_o heaven_n it_o be_v upon_o this_o ground_n that_o they_o be_v not_o the_o same_o now_o they_o be_v in_o time_n past_a i_o shall_v therefore_o a_o little_a enlarge_v myself_o in_o speak_v of_o this_o particular_a and_o shall_v lay_v down_o six_o or_o seven_o particular_n wherein_o i_o shall_v show_v that_o this_o ground_n take_v in_o general_a be_v no_o infallible_a evidence_n of_o a_o man_n effectual_a call_n first_o because_o there_o be_v many_o as_o young_a lamb_n o_o beloved_n christ_n take_v it_o wonderful_a kind_o if_o in_o your_o youth_n you_o do_v embrace_v his_o call_n five_o yield_v not_o to_o the_o devil_n temptation_n consider_v this_o that_o though_o you_o shall_v be_v convert_v in_o your_o old_a age_n yet_o christ_n can_v but_o take_v this_o very_o unkind_o at_o your_o hand_n that_o you_o shall_v put_v he_o off_o until_o accept_v of_o it_o christ_n must_v needs_o take_v this_o unkindly_a that_o you_o shall_v give_v the_o devil_n the_o flower_n of_o your_o age_n and_o give_v to_o christ_n but_o the_o decrepit_a and_o infirm_a part_n of_o your_o life_n that_o the_o devil_n shall_v suck_v out_o the_o marrow_n of_o your_o youth_n and_o only_o give_v god_n the_o dry_a bone_n a_o palsy_n head_n a_o dim_a eye_n a_o weak_a body_n and_o so_o all_o your_o service_n must_v needs_o be_v weak_a also_o and_o think_v but_o how_o unkind_o christ_n will_v take_v your_o service_n thus_o perform_v six_o consider_v this_o that_o from_o your_o birthday_n to_o your_o die_a day_n you_o have_v time_n little_a enough_o to_o carry_v on_o the_o business_n of_o your_o salvation_n shall_v you_o live_v never_o so_o long_o and_o therefore_o you_o have_v no_o cause_n to_o put_v off_o the_o call_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o thus_o much_o be_v speak_v by_o way_n of_o satisfaction_n to_o take_v off_o the_o first_o temptation_n that_o you_o be_v too_o young_a to_o give_v entertainment_n to_o the_o call_v of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o this_o i_o do_v for_o the_o sake_n of_o young_a man_n that_o they_o may_v take_v heed_n of_o be_v ensnare_v by_o this_o delusion_n of_o the_o devil_n 2._o sug._n 2._o here_o it_o may_v be_v the_o devil_n can_v ensnare_v you_o in_o this_o gin_n old_a man_n will_v say_v this_o concern_v not_o i_o i_o be_o not_o take_v with_o this_o temptation_n therefore_o now_o the_o devil_n come_v upon_o they_o with_o this_o suggestion_n say_v the_o devil_n to_o they_o you_o can_v now_o give_v entertainment_n to_o the_o call_v of_o jesus_n christ_n for_o you_o have_v calling_n in_o the_o world_n to_o follow_v you_o have_v a_o particular_a call_n and_o you_o must_v provide_v for_o wife_n and_o child_n and_o family_n and_o lay_v up_o for_o future_a time_n against_o old_a age_n and_o sickness_n and_o therefore_o you_o can_v be_v at_o leisure_n now_o to_o give_v entertainment_n to_o the_o call_v of_o jesus_n christ_n when_o i_o be_o more_o at_o leisure_n i_o may_v look_v after_o my_o effectual_a call_n and_o this_o also_o stick_v very_o close_o to_o a_o great_a many_o and_o to_o take_v off_o this_o suggestion_n of_o the_o devil_n i_o shall_v lay_v down_o six_o particular_n also_o by_o way_n of_o answer_n as_o first_o god_n never_o intend_v that_o our_o outward_a call_n shall_v any_o way_n hinder_v we_o in_o the_o work_n of_o our_o conversion_n god_n never_o intend_v that_o our_o employment_n upon_o earth_n shall_v justle_v out_o the_o necessary_a provision_n for_o heaven_n but_o god_n have_v so_o give_v out_o our_o calling_n here_o in_o the_o world_n that_o he_o have_v make_v and_o ordain_v they_o to_o be_v subordinate_a to_o our_o general_n and_o effectual_a call_n to_o the_o great_a business_n of_o god_n glory_n and_o our_o own_o salvation_n it_o be_v say_v of_o noah_n that_o he_o walk_v with_o god_n 14_o gen._n 6_o 14_o and_o be_v perfect_a in_o his_o generation_n and_o yet_o noah_n be_v employ_v by_o god_n for_o some_o time_n to_o wit_n for_o 120_o year_n in_o a_o handycraft-calling_a to_o build_v a_o
call_v of_o jesus_n christ_n if_o it_o be_v man_n calling_n urge_v they_o they_o will_v not_o take_v pleasure_n in_o sin_n therefore_o it_o be_v not_o their_o calling_n but_o the_o badness_n of_o their_o heart_n they_o do_v not_o love_n christ_n and_o love_v his_o way_n but_o think_v it_o too_o industrious_a a_o work_n to_o labour_v for_o conversion_n and_o therefore_o they_o make_v this_o that_o man_n have_v calling_n to_o follow_v in_o the_o world_n and_o therefore_o they_o have_v no_o leisure_n to_o look_v after_o their_o effectual_a call_n by_o jesus_n christ_n 3._o sug._n three_o the_o devil_n suggest_v if_o you_o give_v entertainment_n to_o the_o call_v of_o jesus_n christ_n this_o will_v expose_v you_o to_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o poverty_n and_o persecution_n in_o this_o world_n and_o therefore_o you_o must_v not_o hearken_v to_o his_o call_n and_o he_o will_v urge_v scripture_n for_o this_o first_o for_o poverty_n the_o devil_n will_v urge_v matth._n 8.19.20_o thirty_o or_o forty_o poor_a man_n in_o poor_a clothes_n walk_v in_o the_o palace_n and_o demand_v of_o the_o emper_n or_o who_o those_o poor_a man_n be_v the_o emperor_n tell_v he_o they_o be_v the_o follower_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v they_o so_o say_v he_o if_o christ_n keep_v his_o follower_n in_o such_o a_o low_a condition_n i_o will_v never_o follow_v jesus_n christ_n the_o poornesse_n of_o christ_n follower_n make_v he_o stumble_v at_o christianity_n there_o be_v many_o man_n especial_o the_o gallant_n of_o the_o time_n they_o see_v a_o company_n of_o poor_a silly_a woman_n come_v with_o a_o bible_n under_o their_o arm_n and_o they_o embrace_v the_o faith_n and_o they_o love_v it_o and_o this_o be_v a_o marvellous_a great_a offence_n to_o they_o that_o they_o will_v not_o
