our_o faith_n but_o so_o soon_o as_o we_o be_v grieve_v with_o any_o affliction_n we_o by_o and_o by_o wax_n faint_a heart_a because_o we_o forget_v all_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n which_o to_o our_o seem_v we_o have_v long_o before_o very_o well_o understand_v and_o learned_a now_o we_o shall_v not_o at_o the_o least_o be_v forgetful_a of_o they_o when_o need_n require_v yea_o and_o that_o when_o we_o be_v thereby_o enforce_v and_o for_o that_o cause_n we_o have_v here_o a_o very_a excellent_a lesson_n for_o the_o purpose_n &_o worthy_a the_o note_n for_o david_n do_v not_o only_o teach_v we_o as_o a_o prophet_n of_o god_n what_o our_o duty_n be_v &_o what_o the_o power_n and_o virtue_n of_o our_o faith_n ought_v too_o be_v but_o show_v we_o also_o the_o way_n by_o his_o example_n how_o we_o must_v be_v patient_a in_o all_o our_o adversity_n and_o how_o we_o ought_v not_o to_o fall_v from_o that_o to_o wit_n that_o we_o always_o have_v our_o eye_n fix_v upon_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n for_o that_o shall_v be_v enough_o to_o entertain_v and_o keep_v we_o in_o such_o sort_n as_o that_o we_o shall_v patient_o wait_v for_o his_o save_a health_n yea_o even_o in_o call_v upon_o he_o but_o that_o we_o may_v the_o better_a profit_n by_o this_o doctrine_n we_o be_v here_o to_o note_v that_o the_o two_o first_o verse_n be_v both_o of_o one_o and_o selfsame_o substance_n save_v that_o the_o order_n of_o the_o word_n be_v change_v he_o say_v in_o the_o first_o place_n my_o soul_n faint_v for_o thy_o salvation_n that_o be_v to_o say_v o_o lord_n i_o have_v long_v albeit_o the_o affliction_n and_o misery_n which_o i_o have_v abide_v be_v very_o great_a and_o last_v long_o and_o that_o i_o see_v neither_o end_n nor_o issue_n of_o they_o yet_o nevertheless_o i_o rest_v altogether_o hereon_o that_o i_o always_o trust_v that_o thou_o will_v be_v my_o supporter_n and_o aider_n now_o he_o add_v the_o reason_n how_o he_o can_v so_o faint_v to_o wit_n because_o he_o trust_v unto_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n in_o the_o second_o verse_n he_o say_v that_o he_o have_v fail_v for_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n yea_o even_o look_v for_o this_o promise_n and_o that_o he_o have_v say_v when_o will_v thou_o comfort_v i_o and_o in_o the_o three_o he_o handle_v that_o which_o before_o he_o have_v speak_v of_o to_o wit_n that_o although_o he_o have_v beeene_v as_o it_o be_v parch_v and_o dry_v even_o as_o a_o skin_n bottle_n in_o the_o smoke_n so_o that_o there_o remain_v neither_o moisture_n nor_o substance_n in_o he_o but_o dry_v up_o with_o very_a misery_n yet_o that_o he_o have_v not_o forget_v the_o testimony_n of_o god_n we_o see_v then_o now_o what_o the_o sum_n and_o effect_n of_o this_o be_v which_o be_v here_o show_v unto_o we_o to_o wit_n that_o there_o be_v but_o one_o only_a mean_a too_o cause_v we_o to_o be_v constant_a and_o patient_a when_o as_o we_o be_v afflict_v and_o that_o our_o adversity_n do_v ever_o long_o last_v as_o we_o imagine_v that_o be_v too_o be_v mindful_a of_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n and_o to_o have_v they_o deep_o imprint_v in_o our_o heart_n for_o if_o that_o be_v so_o it_o will_v not_o cost_v we_o much_o to_o be_v patient_a and_o although_o it_o be_v a_o hard_a matter_n yet_o we_o shall_v at_o the_o last_o come_v too_o the_o end_n of_o it_o let_v we_o then_o now_o mark_v from_o whence_o our_o impatience_n spring_v and_o what_o the_o reason_n be_v why_o we_o be_v so_o oftentimes_o overcome_v with_o temptation_n or_o else_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v have_v for_o a_o time_n resist_v they_o yet_o in_o the_o end_n we_o be_v confound_v and_o fainthearted_a true_o it_o be_v because_o we_o forget_v the_o testimony_n of_o god_n and_o turn_v away_o from_o his_o word_n in_o very_a deed_n this_o at_o the_o first_o sight_n may_v seem_v too_o be_v a_o common_a matter_n with_o us._n and_o to_o say_v the_o truth_n every_o man_n will_v say_v that_o we_o ought_v to_o remember_v they_o and_o that_o it_o be_v the_o only_a remedy_n too_o comfort_v us._n but_o we_o shall_v the_o often_o do_v it_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v have_v learn_v this_o lesson_n which_o be_v here_o set_v down_o untoo_o we_o and_o that_o we_o record_n it_o all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n for_o this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o principall_a point_n that_o be_v too_o be_v require_v in_o all_o christian_n that_o when_o they_o perceive_v that_o god_n have_v lay_v his_o hand_n on_o they_o that_o they_o be_v as_o it_o be_v almost_o cast_v down_o yet_o that_o they_o may_v comfort_v themselves_o in_o stay_v of_o the_o promise_n of_o salvation_n which_o god_n have_v promise_v they_o but_o yet_o let_v we_o thorough_o consider_v the_o word_n which_o david_n here_o use_v i_o have_v long_v say_v he_o after_o the_o salvation_n and_o i_o have_v hope_v or_o after_o that_o i_o have_v hope_v because_o of_o thy_o word_n the_o second_o part_n of_o this_o verse_n be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o foundation_n whereon_o david_n build_v let_v we_o understande_v then_o this_o hope_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o david_n have_v for_o without_o that_o it_o be_v impossible_a but_o that_o we_o must_v be_v confound_v for_o although_o it_o seem_v in_o the_o judgement_n of_o man_n that_o there_o be_v in_o we_o some_o virtue_n and_o soundness_n too_o endure_v and_o suffer_v patient_o yet_o shall_v it_o not_o be_v such_o a_o true_a patience_n as_o god_n allow_v and_o why_o so_o for_o we_o shall_v never_o bear_v he_o that_o affection_n too_o obey_v he_o without_o we_o comfort_v ourselves_o that_o he_o love_v we_o and_o that_o we_o trust_v to_o his_o bounty_n a_o man_n i_o say_v shall_v never_o be_v dispose_v to_o obey_v god_n and_o to_o glorify_v he_o in_o affliction_n except_o he_o have_v a_o taste_n of_o the_o bounty_n and_o fatherly_a love_n which_o he_o bear_v us._n now_o how_o can_v it_o be_v that_o we_o shall_v be_v full_o persuade_v that_o god_n love_v we_o and_o procure_v our_o wealth_n and_o health_n when_o as_o he_o afflict_v we_o without_o we_o be_v arm_v with_o his_o promise_n for_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o we_o to_o know_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n except_o he_o declare_v the_o same_o unto_o we_o in_o his_o word_n let_v we_o learn_v then_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v that_o the_o patience_n of_o the_o faithful_a can_v not_o be_v build_v but_o upon_o faith_n and_o hope_n in_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n loe_o then_o what_o we_o have_v to_o note_v in_o this_o place_n now_o david_n have_v lay_v such_o a_o foundation_n build_v thereon_o say_v that_o his_o soul_n long_v after_o the_o salvation_n of_o god_n when_o he_o say_v that_o his_o soul_n long_v he_o mean_v not_o that_o he_o be_v so_o forlorn_a as_o that_o he_o have_v in_o the_o end_n give_v he_o clean_o over_o ne_o yet_o that_o satan_n have_v get_v any_o advantage_n of_o he_o but_o that_o word_n to_o long_o be_v take_v in_o the_o scripture_n for_o that_o which_o notwithstanding_o be_v conjoin_v with_o such_o obedience_n as_o we_o ought_v to_o yield_v unto_o god_n stay_v and_o settle_v ourselves_o upon_o he_o as_o how_o saint_n paul_n say_v that_o we_o ought_v to_o hope_v beyond_o all_o hope_n as_o abraham_n do_v to_o wit_n we_o must_v surmount_v all_o our_o wit_n and_o imagination_n when_o there_o be_v any_o question_n of_o our_o belief_n in_o god_n for_o if_o we_o will_v measure_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n by_o our_o own_o wit_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o it_o our_o faith_n then_o must_v exceed_v and_o go_v beyond_o all_o the_o wisdom_n of_o man_n as_o here_o it_o be_v say_v that_o his_o soul_n have_v long_v which_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o david_n have_v say_v it_o be_v true_a o_o lord_n that_o according_a to_o man_n reason_n i_o be_v utter_o forlorn_v yea_o i_o be_v so_o oppress_v with_o misery_n as_o that_o i_o can_v bear_v no_o more_o but_o when_o i_o be_v in_o the_o mid_n of_o death_n i_o cease_v not_o for_o all_o that_o until_o i_o be_v arrive_v at_o a_o sure_a haven_n to_o wit_n thy_o aid_n and_o help_v now_o he_o namely_o speak_v of_o god_n succour_n because_o it_o shall_v go_v very_o hard_o but_o that_o we_o will_v wander_v look_v above_o and_o beneath_o both_o before_o and_o behind_o to_o see_v if_o we_o can_v find_v ready_a help_n but_o if_o the_o trouble_n last_o long_o &_o we_o see_v not_o which_o way_n to_o get_v out_o of_o it_o but_o that_o
and_o so_o fat_v even_o so_o fare_v it_o with_o these_o curse_a contemner_n of_o god_n which_o have_v no_o regard_n unto_o everlasting_a life_n but_o be_v whole_o give_v up_o too_o their_o god_n the_o belly_n they_o wallow_v themselves_o in_o their_o own_o grease_n as_o a_o swine_n which_o have_v his_o groin_n always_o in_o the_o trough_n now_o contrariwise_o david_n say_v that_o all_o his_o delight_n have_v be_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n whereby_o he_o do_v we_o to_o wit_n that_o although_o god_n have_v make_v he_o fat_a yet_o that_o he_o wallow_v not_o for_o all_o that_o in_o his_o own_o grease_n but_o delight_v in_o that_o spiritual_a gift_n which_o be_v give_v he_o because_o that_o god_n have_v teach_v it_o he_o in_o his_o school_n loe_o than_o what_o we_o have_v to_o gather_v out_o of_o this_o place_n that_o although_o we_o see_v the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o world_n contemn_v god_n yet_o must_v we_o not_o be_v abash_v thereat_o and_o why_o so_o let_v we_o well_o consider_v wherein_o man_n do_v put_v their_o chief_a felicity_n and_o we_o shall_v find_v they_o too_o be_v like_a unto_o ox_n and_o swine_n desire_v naught_o but_o to_o live_v here_o in_o this_o world_n without_o look_v any_o far_o now_o we_o must_v have_v a_o far_a regard_n if_o we_o will_v serve_v god_n as_o too_o he_o appertain_v to_o wit_n that_o we_o take_v such_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o we_o be_v no_o more_o give_v too_o the_o world_n as_o we_o be_v overmuch_o and_o although_o god_n give_v we_o abundance_n yet_o that_o we_o have_v our_o ease_n and_o commodity_n in_o this_o world_n let_v we_o not_o settle_v our_o mind_n on_o they_o but_o know_v that_o all_o these_o be_v but_o petty_a small_a mean_n and_o necessarye_n but_o let_v we_o labour_n to_o go_v too_o the_o principal_a and_o acknowledge_v he_o too_o be_v our_o father_n and_o saviour_n and_o when_o we_o know_v he_o too_o be_v so_o then_o let_v we_o climb_v up_o unto_o he_o and_o too_o that_o everlasting_a life_n whereunto_o he_o invyte_v and_o call_v us._n loe_o i_o say_v what_o we_o have_v here_o too_o retain_v moreover_o if_o god_n tame_v we_o by_o affliction_n let_v we_o come_v to_o that_o which_o david_n add_v to_o wit_n that_o it_o be_v good_a for_o he_o that_o he_o have_v be_v in_o trouble_n although_o then_o that_o god_n pull_v back_o his_o hand_n and_o that_o in_o stead_n of_o gentle_o entreat_v we_o he_o handle_v we_o rough_o in_o stead_n of_o send_v we_o plenty_n of_o wealth_n he_o cause_v we_o to_o suffer_v hunger_n and_o thirst_n in_o stead_n of_o give_v we_o health_n he_o greeve_v we_o with_o disease_n that_o be_v vex_v with_o many_o anguish_v and_o torment_n so_o that_o we_o know_v not_o what_o too_o do_v yet_o must_v we_o always_o look_v to_o the_o end_n to_o be_v comfort_v with_o david_n in_o say_v it_o be_v a_o good_a turn_n for_o i_o o_o lord_n that_o i_o have_v be_v in_o trouble_n that_o i_o may_v learn_v thy_o statute_n now_o since_o it_o have_v so_o fall_v out_o that_o david_n be_v afflict_v to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v be_v the_o better_o dispose_v too_o learn_v the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o which_o be_v full_a of_o worldly_a vanity_n let_v we_o then_o know_v that_o we_o have_v need_v to_o be_v correct_v by_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o to_o be_v tie_v short_a if_o we_o will_v profit_v in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n loe_o then_o how_o we_o must_v practise_v the_o admonition_n of_o david_n and_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v so_o do_v we_o may_v conclude_v and_o say_v with_o that_o which_o be_v set_v down_o in_o the_o last_o verse_n to_o wit_n that_o the_o law_n of_o god_n be_v more_o dear_a unto_o we_o then_o gold_n or_o silver_n and_o this_o be_v it_o that_o we_o must_v do_v in_o this_o point_n we_o must_v esteem_v and_o make_v much_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o it_o be_v worthy_a and_o not_o to_o stay_v ourselves_o on_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n but_o to_o look_v always_o far_o off_o to_o wit_n unto_o heaven_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v have_v profit_v ourselves_o thus_o by_o the_o affliction_n which_o god_n shall_v send_v we_o he_o will_v bestow_v his_o grace_n upon_o we_o by_o little_a &_o little_a that_o we_o shall_v so_o esteem_v of_o his_o word_n as_o that_o we_o shall_v whole_o stick_v to_o it_o and_o let_v we_o beseech_v he_o that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o too_o despoil_v we_o of_o all_o our_o wicked_a fleshly_a desire_n and_o affection_n &_o to_o cause_v we_o to_o crave_v none_o other_o thing_n but_o that_o he_o will_v reign_v and_o live_v in_o us._n according_a too_o this_o holy_a doctrine_n let_v we_o prostrate_v ourselves_o before_o the_o majesty_n of_o our_o good_a god_n in_o acknowledge_v our_o offence_n beseech_v he_o that_o it_o will_v please_v bim_n too_o take_v from_o we_o the_o wicked_a affection_n which_o may_v turn_v we_o away_o from_o he_o and_o from_o his_o service_n and_o that_o we_o may_v forget_v all_o whatsoever_o may_v turn_v we_o from_o the_o right_a way_n of_o salvation_n that_o we_o desire_v nothing_o but_o that_o we_o may_v attain_v too_o that_o everlasting_a life_n which_o we_o look_v for_o in_o heaven_n that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o not_o too_o suffer_v we_o to_o live_v here_o like_o brute_n beast_n not_o know_v to_o what_o end_n we_o be_v create_v in_o this_o world_n but_o that_o we_o may_v acknowledge_v he_o to_o be_v our_o creator_n our_o father_n and_o saviour_n that_o we_o may_v subject_v ourselves_o unto_o he_o as_o his_o creature_n and_o obey_v he_o as_o true_a and_o faithful_a child_n until_o such_o time_n as_o he_o shall_v take_v we_o out_o of_o this_o world_n to_o make_v we_o partaker_n of_o that_o everlasting_a bliss_n &_o immortal_a inheritance_n which_o he_o have_v prepare_v in_o heaven_n and_o which_o be_v purchase_v for_o we_o by_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n that_o he_o will_v not_o only_o grant_v we_o this_o grace_n but_o also_o unto_o all_o people_n and_o nation_n in_o the_o world_n etc._n etc._n the_o ten_o sermon_n of_o the_o hundred_o and_o nineteenth_o psalm_n jod_n thy_o hand_n have_v make_v and_o fashion_v i_o o_o give_v i_o unto_o you_o for_o there_o be_v as_o great_a distance_n between_o my_o thought_n and_o you_o as_o be_v between_o heaven_n and_o earth_n let_v we_o then_o measure_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n after_o our_o vain_a imagination_n but_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v let_v we_o know_v that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o vain_a which_o he_o declare_v and_o testify_v unto_o we_o that_o the_o good_a will_n and_o love_n which_o he_o bear_v we_o be_v infinite_a thing_n which_o we_o must_v behold_v by_o faith_n only_o and_o it_o be_v to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o shall_v come_v unto_o he_o with_o great_a boldness_n too_o call_v upon_o he_o not_o doubt_v but_o that_o we_o shall_v obtain_v whatsoever_o we_o crave_v at_o his_o hand_n yea_o even_o asmuch_o as_n shall_v be_v expedient_a for_o our_o all_o our_o own_o fantasy_n and_o lust_n we_o must_v thrust_v out_o from_o we_o all_o whatsoever_o for_o the_o love_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o bear_v to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n we_o must_v also_o forget_v all_o hawtines_n or_o pride_n yea_o even_o study_v how_o too_o separate_v ourselves_o from_o those_o which_o any_o way_n may_v draw_v we_o too_o evil_a and_o not_o too_o communicate_v with_o the_o ungodly_a which_o be_v double_a heart_a full_a of_o hypocrisy_n or_o else_o such_o as_o be_v but_o vain_a glorious_a and_o of_o that_o pride_n which_o even_o move_v they_o to_o lift_v themselves_o up_o both_o against_o god_n and_o man_n for_o their_o company_n will_v so_o corrupt_v we_o as_o that_o be_v vuzzele_v among_o they_o our_o heart_n can_v never_o be_v so_o order_v and_o rule_v in_o the_o love_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n now_o then_o let_v we_o keep_v well_o in_o mind_n this_o admonition_n as_o a_o thing_n most_o profitable_a for_o we_o to_o wit_n as_o before_o i_o have_v say_v that_o as_o we_o be_v incline_v to_o committee_n a_o great_a number_n of_o offence_n and_o villainy_n which_o will_v withdraw_v we_o from_o the_o love_n that_o we_o ought_v to_o bear_v to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n let_v we_o so_o much_o the_o mere_a fly_n from_o whatsoever_o draw_v we_o away_o backward_o yea_o and_o let_v we_o understand_v that_o look_v how_o many_o our_o imagination_n and_o affection_n be_v that_o they_o be_v even_o so_o many_o cartrope_n to_o hale_v &_o pull_v we_o away_o from_o this_o love_n or_o else_o they_o be_v so_o many_o poison_n which_o satan_n give_v we_o to_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v not_o once_o taste_v of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n neither_o to_o be_v so_o amiable_a and_o pleasant_a unto_o we_o as_o it_o ought_v but_o rather_o that_o we_o may_v be_v greeve_v &_o loathe_v therewith_o &_o so_o to_o leave_v it_o as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o grievous_a matter_n &_o a_o occasion_n of_o hevine_v since_o than_o it_o be_v so_o let_v we_o be_v well_o advise_v too_o purge_v our_o heart_n of_o all_o earthly_a affection_n if_o we_o will_v take_v in_o hand_n to_o love_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o that_o we_o have_v fight_v against_o our_o ungodly_a lust_n and_o fleshly_a fantasy_n but_o we_o must_v also_o as_o it_o be_v gather_v our_o wit_n together_o for_o hardly_o can_v we_o open_v our_o eye_n to_o look_v about_o this_o way_n and_o that_o way_n but_o that_o satan_n will_v lay_v before_o we_o some_o evil_a and_o wicked_a stop_n and_o encountry_n it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o so_o long_o as_o we_o live_v here_o in_o this_o world_n we_o can_v not_o but_o both_o see_v and_o hear_v a_o great_a many_o of_o thing_n but_o yet_o must_v we_o bridle_v our_o sense_n and_o above_o all_o the_o rest_n we_o ought_v to_o fight_v against_o these_o strange_a &_o counterfeit_a hypocrisy_n and_o affection_n wherein_o we_o be_v nuzzele_v we_o must_v even_o hate_v deadly_a all_o this_o in_o our_o heart_n to_o the_o end_n we_o be_v not_o hinder_v from_o the_o love_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o verse_n now_o in_o the_o second_o david_n show_v how_o we_o shall_v find_v the_o word_n of_o god_n pleasant_a and_o gracious_a that_o we_o may_v love_v it_o that_o be_v when_o as_o we_o shall_v trust_v to_o his_o word_n thou_o be_v and_o feeble_a doctrine_n for_o if_o god_n be_v there_o as_o a_o philosopher_n to_o preach_v unto_o we_o of_o virtue_n and_o to_o declare_v unto_o we_o that_o we_o must_v be_v thus_o govern_v we_o shall_v have_v but_o a_o pitiful_a cold_a pull_n of_o it_o and_o because_o we_o be_v altogether_o and_o whole_o contrary_a to_o the_o rightuousnesse_n of_o god_n it_o be_v impossible_a but_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v grieve_v and_o trouble_v with_o whatsoever_o shall_v be_v say_v unto_o us._n but_o i_o have_v already_o show_v that_o the_o principal_a matter_n which_o god_n declare_v unto_o we_o we_o shall_v fly_v from_o he_o as_o much_o as_o may_v be_v and_o as_o often_o as_o this_o word_n of_o god_n shall_v sound_v in_o our_o ear_n so_o often_o shall_v it_o grieve_v and_o torment_v we_o as_o we_o see_v how_o the_o faithless_a do_v fear_n when_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v speak_v unto_o they_o it_o bring_v untoo_o they_o nothing_o but_o terror_n and_o fear_n as_o if_o a_o thief_n or_o murderer_n be_v bring_v before_o a_o judge_n but_o when_o as_o we_o have_v faith_n to_o stay_v ourselves_o upon_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n too_o call_v upon_o he_o as_o david_n do_v here_o the_o most_o wicked_a will_v confess_v and_o say_v that_o they_o desire_v too_o be_v save_v but_o yet_o in_o the_o desire_n thereof_o they_o clear_o fly_v from_o it_o and_o go_v as_o clean_o away_o from_o it_o as_o they_o can_v for_o their_o life_n but_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o they_o so_o great_o withdraw_v themselves_o from_o that_o which_o they_o so_o high_o protest_v too_o love_n yea_o they_o draw_v as_o near_o unto_o it_o as_o they_o can_v possible_o fly_v from_o it_o by_o this_o it_o seem_v that_o they_o have_v conspire_v too_o reject_v and_o make_v little_a account_v of_o that_o good_a which_o god_n mean_v to_o do_v for_o they_o and_o here_o we_o be_v too_o note_n that_o david_n in_o this_o first_o verse_n accuse_v we_o of_o horrible_a blindness_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v sure_o you_o be_v all_o senseless_a and_o without_o wit_n and_o to_o say_v the_o truth_n if_o there_o be_v but_o one_o drop_n of_o reason_n in_o we_o without_o doubt_n we_o will_v not_o and_o who_o it_o be_v that_o assure_v they_o that_o they_o shoot_v at_o the_o true_a mark_n they_o know_v not_o what_o answer_n to_o make_v for_o there_o be_v but_o one_o way_n which_o lead_v to_o salvation_n which_o be_v the_o law_n as_o david_n hereof_o speak_v wherefore_o as_o many_o as_o walk_v in_o the_o law_n of_o the_o lord_n say_v he_o go_v not_o out_o of_o their_o way_n we_o have_v in_o this_o first_o verse_n two_o notable_a lesson_n the_o one_o be_v that_o god_n here_o acuse_v we_o that_o every_o of_o we_o stray_v and_o err_v from_o the_o way_n of_o salvation_n and_o although_o we_o protest_v that_o we_o be_v willing_a and_o desirous_a to_o be_v save_v yet_o for_o all_o that_o our_o wicked_a affection_n do_v in_o such_o sort_n carry_v we_o away_o as_o that_o we_o desire_v nothing_o else_o but_o that_o we_o may_v be_v far_o from_o that_o felicity_n and_o blessedness_n which_o be_v set_v before_o us._n for_o there_o it_o be_v say_v bless_a be_v they_o which_o walk_v in_o the_o right_a way_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o point_n the_o second_o be_v that_o we_o may_v invent_v and_o devise_v many_o and_o sundry_a kind_n of_o life_n and_o so_o think_v that_o all_o run_v into_o everlasting_a destruction_n the_o law_n of_o god_n than_o be_v the_o way_n which_o must_v rule_v and_o order_v our_o life_n and_o when_o we_o will_v hearken_v unto_o it_o all_o thing_n shall_v go_v well_o with_o we_o but_o whosoever_o swerve_v from_o that_o the_o same_o be_v like_a unto_o a_o savage_a and_o wild_a beast_n which_o can_v do_v nothing_o else_o but_o gallopp_n and_o fling_v overthwart_o the_o field_n there_o be_v none_o of_o we_o all_o but_o that_o may_v have_v many_o motion_n which_o may_v seem_v good_a to_o we_o as_o we_o may_v see_v by_o the_o poor_a it_o be_v impossible_a but_o that_o our_o life_n must_v needs_o be_v confound_v and_o come_v to_o naught_o he_o say_v a_o little_a after_o bless_a be_v they_o which_o keep_v his_o testimony_n and_o seek_v he_o with_o their_o whole_a heart_n david_n now_o use_v another_o word_n than_o this_o word_n the_o law_n to_o wit_n testimony_n this_o word_n in_o itself_o import_v a_o covenant_n or_o contract_n &_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v understand_v otherwise_o than_o to_o be_v ayply_v to_o this_o end_n to_o wit_n that_o god_n covenant_v with_o we_o declare_v that_o his_o meaning_n be_v to_o pull_v &_o draw_v we_o unto_o he_o and_o also_o how_o we_o ought_v to_o order_v our_o life_n because_o cause_v it_o be_v a_o mutual_a contract_n between_o he_o and_o us._n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v go_v to_o now_o understand_v you_o that_o here_o i_o make_v a_o covenaunt_n with_o you_o that_o you_o acknowledge_v i_o to_o be_v your_o god_n that_o you_o doubt_n not_o of_o my_o love_n towards_o you_o and_o in_o love_v you_o that_o i_o be_o your_o saviour_n and_o that_o you_o call_v upon_o i_o in_o this_o affiance_n and_o trust_n and_o beside_o that_o you_o be_v also_o my_o love_a &_o obedient_a child_n that_o i_o do_v protect_v and_o govern_v you_o and_o that_o you_o be_v my_o household_n servant_n when_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n thus_o abase_v and_o offer_v himself_o unto_o we_o and_o that_o he_o use_v such_o familiarity_n and_o gentleness_n towards_o we_o as_o to_o talk_v with_o we_o it_o be_v say_v that_o he_o give_v we_o his_o testimony_n of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n towards_o us._n here_o now_o david_n declare_v that_o they_o be_v bless_v which_o keep_v the_o testimony_n of_o god_n and_o seek_v he_o with_o their_o whole_a heart_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v that_o the_o law_n of_o god_n consist_v not_o only_o in_o this_o that_o it_o shew_v unto_o we_o what_o we_o ought_v too_o do_v but_o that_o it_o carry_v also_o with_o it_o another_o special_a of_o consolation_n we_o receive_v by_o that_o which_o god_n show_v unto_o we_o in_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n and_o in_o all_o the_o prophet_n who_o be_v as_o it_o be_v expositor_n thereof_o for_o many_o time_n when_o we_o speak_v of_o the_o law_n we_o suppose_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o else_o mean_v but_o that_o which_o god_n command_v we_o to_o do_v but_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o to_o be_v consider_v to_o wit_n he_o assure_v we_o of_o his_o favour_n and_o grace_n and_o will_v we_o to_o stay_v ourselves_o thereon_o that_o we_o may_v be_v assure_v of_o our_o salvation_n and_o that_o also_o we_o may_v be_v certain_a of_o his_o love_n by_o his_o sacrament_n therein_o ordain_v moreover_o that_o we_o shall_v address_v ourselves_o to_o jesus_n christ_n and_o by_o that_o mean_n be_v instruct_v to_o run_v unto_o he_o who_o be_v our_o only_a and_o alone_a saviour_n when_o god_n then_o speak_v unto_o we_o we_o must_v consider_v that_o he_o say_v not_o only_o do_v this_o or_o that_o but_o declare_v himself_o unto_o we_o what_o manner_n of_o one_o we_o shall_v think_v he_o to_o be_v and_o what_o one_o also_o he_o show_v himself_o on_o his_o part_n too_o be_v towards_o this_o diversity_n of_o word_n use_v here_o in_o this_o psalm_n by_o david_n be_v not_o superfluous_a for_o it_o show_v we_o that_o the_o law_n of_o god_n do_v hot_a only_o command_v we_o how_o we_o shall_v live_v and_o after_o what_o sort_n but_o do_v also_o certify_v we_o of_o the_o good_a will_n of_o god_n promise_v we_o salvation_n lead_v we_o too_o jesus_n christ_n stir_v we_o up_o too_o call_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o god_n give_v we_o ceremony_n to_o confirm_v we_o therein_o and_o moreover_o that_o it_o guide_v &_o hold_v we_o within_o our_o limit_n and_o sure_o there_o be_v not_o one_o verse_n in_o all_o this_o psalm_n although_o there_o be_v very_o many_o wherein_o there_o be_v not_o mention_v make_v of_o one_o of_o these_o word_n too_o wit_n either_o of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n or_o of_o his_o commandment_n either_o else_o of_o his_o ordinance_n statute_n or_o testimony_n or_o of_o his_o voice_n judgemente_n or_o justice_n these_o word_n be_v here_o so_o many_o time_n repeat_v as_o that_o there_o be_v not_o one_o verse_n but_o that_o there_o be_v one_o or_o sometime_o two_o of_o they_o in_o it_o as_o hereafter_o we_o shall_v see_v throughout_o the_o whole_a psalm_n and_o now_o let_v we_o come_v to_o the_o matter_n herein_o contain_v blessed_n be_v they_o which_o keep_v the_o testimony_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o which_o seek_v he_o with_o their_o whole_a heart_n first_o david_n decalare_v here_o as_o afore_o say_v that_o we_o have_v great_o profit_v in_o the_o law_n when_o as_o we_o shall_v acknowledge_v and_o confess_v what_o affection_n and_o love_n god_n bear_v we_o and_o how_o we_o ought_v to_o assure_v ourselves_o of_o his_o good_a will_n and_o fatherly_a love_n and_o afterward_o he_o tell_v we_o to_o what_o end_n and_o purpose_n it_o be_v that_o god_n grant_v unto_o we_o such_o a_o assurance_n because_o say_v he_o we_o shall_v seek_v he_o for_o this_o be_v most_o sure_a when_o as_o we_o shall_v understand_v god_n to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o as_o he_o declare_v himself_o unto_o we_o by_o his_o word_n it_o be_v impossible_a but_o that_o we_o shall_v stir_v up_o ourselves_o and_o be_v move_v to_o give_v ourselves_o whole_o unto_o he_o and_o to_o prove_v that_o this_o be_v true_a behold_v the_o inestimable_a bounty_n and_o goodness_n declare_v unto_o we_o in_o our_o god_n what_o man_n be_v he_o that_o be_v so_o perverse_a and_o void_a of_o sense_n and_o reason_n which_o will_v not_o be_v content_v to_o place_v himself_o there_o where_o he_o think_v his_o whole_a blessedness_n and_o felicity_n consist_v and_o lie_v even_o so_o likewise_o when_o as_o become_v careless_a in_o seek_v after_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n it_o be_v a_o sign_n and_o token_n that_o we_o have_v understand_v nothing_o of_o that_o which_o he_o have_v show_v unto_o we_o of_o his_o goodness_n and_o mercy_n and_o of_o all_o his_o fatherly_a affection_n which_o be_v witness_v unto_o we_o in_o the_o law_n and_o in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n but_o because_o it_o shall_v be_v no_o great_a ado_n for_o a_o number_n of_o man_n to_o make_v a_o countenance_n of_o seek_v the_o lord_n david_n show_v that_o we_o must_v not_o seek_v he_o with_o our_o foot_n and_o hand_n with_o the_o outward_a gesture_n of_o the_o body_n alone_o but_o with_o a_o true_a and_o pure_a affection_n and_o therefore_o he_o say_v bless_a be_v they_o which_o seek_v he_o with_o their_o whole_a heart_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v i_o will_v not_o have_v you_o to_o do_v as_o the_o hypocrite_n do_v which_o bear_v of_o religion_n with_o strong_a hand_n no_o i_o mean_v not_o so_o but_o i_o will_v have_v your_o love_n to_o be_v sound_a and_o true_a as_o touch_v that_o say_n with_o their_o whole_a heart_n it_o be_v to_o declare_v unto_o we_o that_o god_n can_v away_o with_o part_v of_o stake_n as_o we_o man_n many_o time_n do_v for_o we_o be_v well_o content_v to_o bestow_v some_o part_n upon_o god_n and_o will_v be_v at_o free_a liberty_n to_o hold_v we_o with_o the_o world_n and_o to_o serve_v god_n by_o half_n but_o david_n teach_v we_o here_o to_o serve_v he_o with_o our_o whole_a heart_n to_o wit_n in_o all_o integrity_n and_o soundness_n and_o not_o with_o two_o face_n in_o one_o hood_n he_o will_v not_o have_v we_o pat_v in_o sunder_o to_o say_v well_o i_o be_o content_v to_o serve_v god_n howbeit_o i_o will_v not_o that_o he_o shall_v require_v my_o whole_a service_n to_o himself_o but_o that_o i_o may_v after_o satisfy_v and_o follow_v my_o own_o lust_n and_o pleasure_n that_o i_o may_v be_v at_o liberty_n to_o serve_v the_o world_n no_o not_o so_o say_v he_o it_o must_v be_v bring_v into_o a_o true_a and_o perfect_a soundness_n and_o not_o to_o divide_v man_n after_o such_o a_o manner_n true_a it_o be_v that_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o seek_v god_n with_o such_o a_o perfection_n but_o that_o it_o may_v be_v great_o amend_v neither_o do_v the_o holy_a scripture_n mean_v by_o this_o say_n with_o their_o whole_a heart_n full_a perfection_n but_o only_o oppose_v itself_o against_o the_o hypocrisy_n of_o a_o great_a number_n of_o man_n and_o which_o will_v be_v in_o we_o all_o be_v it_o not_o that_o god_n himself_o do_v remedy_n &_o help_v it_o that_o be_v we_o will_v with_o good_a will_v serve_v god_n by_o half_n if_o so_o be_v he_o will_v let_v we_o alone_o with_o the_o rest_n to_o do_v what_o we_o think_v good_a as_o for_o example_n we_o shall_v have_v very_o many_o which_o will_v not_o stick_v with_o god_n to_o come_v to_o the_o sermon_n on_o a_o sunday_n and_o to_o be_v present_a at_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o faithful_a and_o to_o make_v some_o show_n of_o religion_n and_o yet_o they_o will_v have_v god_n to_o give_v they_o free_a choice_n to_o do_v what_o they_o list_v at_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o week_n after_o or_o if_o they_o come_v to_o a_o sermon_n often_o than_o on_o the_o sunday_n it_o seem_v to_o they_o that_o they_o have_v do_v very_o well_o that_o they_o be_v thorough_o discharge_v of_o their_o duty_n if_o they_o tarry_v there_o but_o one_o hour_n but_o because_o they_o may_v be_v set_v at_o more_o liberty_n they_o will_v not_o stick_v to_o say_v that_o they_o will_v be_v free_a from_o some_o one_o vice_n one_o will_v say_v that_o he_o will_v be_v no_o whoremaster_n another_o that_o he_o will_v be_v no_o drunkarde_n another_o that_o he_o will_v be_v no_o blasphemer_n &_o yet_o every_o one_o of_o these_o will_v have_v his_o particular_a vice_n and_o think_v that_o god_n ought_v to_o bear_v with_o they_o see_v that_o for_o his_o honour_n and_o to_o do_v he_o pleasure_n they_o abstein_v from_o some_o sin_n and_o that_o they_o obey_v he_o in_o some_o point_n but_o the_o scripture_n tell_v we_o that_o all_o this_o be_v nothing_o but_o that_o every_o one_o ought_v to_o examine_v himself_o thorough_o and_o in_o all_o point_n and_o find_v in_o himself_o any_o thing_n which_o be_v against_o the_o will_n of_o god_n to_o be_v utter_o find_v true_a soundness_n and_o integrity_n as_o before_o i_o have_v touch_v now_o it_o follow_v sure_o they_o work_v none_o iniquity_n that_o walk_v in_o his_o way_n first_o david_n here_o show_v in_o this_o present_a verse_n what_o the_o cause_n be_v why_o all_o man_n abound_v in_o evil_a and_o iniquity_n to_o weet_v for_o so_o much_o as_o they_o will_v not_o be_v rule_v by_o the_o lord_n their_o god_n see_v here_o the_o spring_n head_n of_o the_o outrage_n of_o
not_o o_o lord_n to_o live_v for_o myself_o alone_o in_o this_o world_n to_o receive_v here_o my_o pleasure_n and_o commodyty_n but_o desire_v it_o too_o a_o other_o more_o precious_a and_o excellent_a end_n than_o that_o to_o wit_n that_o i_o may_v serve_v thou_o even_o so_o then_o as_o often_o as_o we_o be_v desirous_a to_o live_v we_o must_v remember_v we_o of_o this_o request_n which_o david_n make_v that_o be_v that_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v like_a unto_o brute_n beast_n lyve_v we_o know_v not_o to_o what_o end_n but_o that_o we_o shall_v always_o aim_v at_o this_o make_v to_o honour_v god._n for_o without_o this_o we_o be_v more_o miserable_a than_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o his_o creature_n every_o creature_n will_v follow_v his_o own_o natural_a inclination_n and_o albeit_o that_o brute_n beast_n have_v a_o hard_a and_o irksome_a life_n yet_o notwithstanding_o they_o be_v not_o in_o their_o kind_n so_o torment_v &_o greeve_v as_o we_o be_v we_o know_v &_o feel_v by_o experience_n that_o our_o evil_a desire_n and_o lust_n be_v like_o hot_a burn_a furnace_n so_o that_o we_o need_v no_o body_n to_o persecute_v and_o vex_v we_o for_o there_o be_v none_o of_o we_o all_o but_o can_v tell_v well_o enough_o how_o to_o grieve_v &_o vex_v ourselves_o one_o with_o ambition_n another_o with_o covetousness_n &_o some_o with_o fornication_n &_o adultery_n so_o they_o our_o life_n shall_v be_v very_o accurse_v if_o we_o look_v no_o far_o but_o we_o must_v always_o aim_v at_o this_o mark_n to_o serve_v god_n &_o to_o keep_v his_o word_n for_o when_o as_o all_o our_o affection_n and_o love_n shall_v rest_n in_o it_o then_o shall_v our_o life_n be_v bless_v but_o contrariwise_o when_o we_o be_v so_o brutish_a as_o to_o desire_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o live_v here_o a_o long_a time_n &_o to_o have_v none_o other_o care_n but_o of_o our_o body_n and_o this_o temporal_a life_n the_o long_a we_o live_v here_o in_o the_o world_n the_o more_o do_v we_o heap_v upon_o we_o the_o malediction_n and_o curse_n of_o god_n let_v we_o then_o keep_v in_o mind_n this_o prayer_n which_o david_n here_o make_v to_o wit_n that_o he_o beseech_v god_n to_o bestow_v that_o benefit_n upon_o he_o that_o he_o may_v keep_v his_o commandment_n all_o the_o day_n of_o his_o life_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v alas_o my_o god_n i_o see_v we_o to_o be_v so_o perverse_a crave_v that_o at_o god_n hand_n which_o already_o we_o have_v and_o why_o so_o because_o we_o be_v certain_a that_o we_o can_v enjoy_v it_o nor_o yet_o use_v the_o same_o without_o his_o grace_n here_o speak_v of_o any_o worldly_a iustruction_n as_o we_o will_v imagine_v of_o the_o thing_n which_o we_o know_v nor_o of_o before_o david_n confess_v that_o all_o that_o will_v serve_v he_o to_o no_o purpose_n at_o all_o without_o god_n add_v thereunto_o a_o notable_a or_o more_o excellent_a thing_n to_o wit_n that_o he_o do_v enlighten_v he_o with_o his_o holy_a spirit_n since_o than_o it_o be_v so_o that_o david_n who_o be_v a_o excellent_a prophet_n do_v know_v that_o he_o can_v neither_o by_o read_v nor_o preach_v understand_v that_o which_o be_v requisite_a unto_o salvation_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o which_o be_v yet_o far_o from_o that_o forwardness_n that_o be_v in_o he_o and_o let_v we_o not_o think_v that_o through_o our_o own_o labour_n and_o industry_n and_o by_o our_o own_o sharpness_n of_o wit_n to_o come_v so_o far_o as_o to_o understande_v the_o secret_n of_o god_n but_o let_v we_o know_v that_o we_o have_v need_v to_o be_v enlighten_v with_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o open_v our_o eye_n for_o without_o it_o we_o be_v poor_a blind_a soul_n now_o if_o this_o be_v well_o understand_v we_o shall_v never_o see_v such_o a_o pride_n among_o we_o as_o be_v that_o every_o of_o we_o be_v wise_a enough_o too_o govern_v himself_o it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n for_o we_o to_o make_v protestation_n that_o god_n have_v give_v we_o his_o word_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o we_o shall_v still_o be_v blind_a and_o know_v nothing_o until_o such_o time_n as_o he_o open_v our_o heart_n and_o mind_n for_o when_o nothing_o else_o shall_v govern_v we_o but_o our_o own_o sense_n and_o natural_a reason_n what_o beast_n and_o calf_n shall_v we_o then_o be_v see_v then_o how_o we_o shall_v be_v better_o instruct_v in_o humility_n when_o as_o the_o doctrine_n shall_v be_v imprint_v in_o our_o heart_n true_a it_o be_v that_o this_o be_v not_o speak_v in_o vain_a but_o to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v admonish_v after_o the_o example_n of_o david_n too_o present_v ourselves_o before_o god_n and_o in_o confess_v ourselves_o that_o we_o be_v not_o capable_a to_o understande_v any_o thing_n without_o that_o he_o put_v to_o his_o help_a hand_n let_v we_o beseech_v he_o too_o open_v our_o eye_n by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o because_o it_o shall_v not_o seem_v strange_a that_o david_n desire_v to_o have_v his_o eye_n open_a he_o declare_v that_o the_o wisdom_n contain_v in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n be_v too_o high_a for_o our_o capacity_n yea_o although_o we_o think_v ourselves_o to_o have_v never_o so_o sharp_a and_o fine_a wit_n and_o therefore_o
god_n and_o this_o be_v a_o very_a fit_a similitude_n for_o the_o purpose_n we_o know_v that_o a_o man_n in_o a_o strange_a country_n will_v think_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o strange_a and_o forlorn_a man_n so_o that_o if_o he_o have_v not_o a_o conduct_n and_o guide_v he_o know_v not_o what_o shall_v become_v of_o he_o even_o so_o fare_v it_o with_o we_o if_o we_o be_v not_o direct_v and_o conduct_v by_o the_o hand_n and_o power_n of_o god_n and_o why_o so_o because_o we_o be_v as_o stranger_n here_o in_o this_o world_n it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o we_o be_v but_o too_o too_o much_o tie_v unto_o our_o affection_n and_o will_n and_o yet_o out_o alas_o our_o sense_n and_o wit_n be_v so_o confound_v that_o we_o know_v not_o what_o way_n to_o take_v or_o hold_v except_o we_o be_v show_v it_o loe_o here_o the_o meaning_n of_o the_o similitude_n which_o david_n here_o use_v in_o say_v that_o he_o be_v a_o stranger_n in_o the_o world_n which_o be_v that_o he_o complain_v that_o he_o be_v a_o strange_a and_o forlorn_a man_n and_o therefore_o beseech_v god_n to_o guide_v he_o by_o his_o word_n now_o it_o follow_v my_o hart_n break_v out_o for_o the_o desire_n untoo_o thy_o judgement_n always_o when_o he_o say_v that_o his_o soul_n break_v out_o it_o be_v too_o protest_v that_o he_o desire_v not_o that_o thing_n of_o god_n which_o we_o have_v hear_v either_o for_o fashion_n sake_n or_o countenance_n as_o many_o do_v which_o beseech_v god_n very_o often_o too_o inlighten_v confirm_v and_o guide_v they_o in_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o word_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n they_o never_o seek_v after_o it_o as_o they_o shall_v do_v now_o this_o be_v but_o after_o a_o sort_n and_o god_n will_v not_o be_v thus_o mock_v for_o in_o thus_o do_v we_o do_v nothing_o else_o but_o profane_a his_o holy_a name_n when_o as_o we_o make_v such_o request_n as_o proceed_v not_o from_o a_o true_a affection_n and_o desire_v loe_o here_o wherefore_o david_n say_v that_o his_o soul_n break_v out_o for_o this_o word_n emport_v as_o much_o as_o if_o his_o soul_n have_v utter_o faint_v my_o soul_n then_o faint_v for_o the_o desire_n which_o it_o have_v to_o thy_o commandment_n wherefore_o here_o be_v three_o thing_n to_o be_v consider_v off_o the_o one_o be_v that_o if_o we_o will_v obtain_v at_o god_n hand_n to_o be_v conduct_v by_o he_o and_o to_o have_v his_o word_n to_o be_v our_o way_n and_o direction_n we_o shall_v not_o make_v such_o a_o hypocritical_a nor_o cold_a prayer_n unto_o he_o with_o mock_v of_o he_o thereby_o but_o with_o such_o a_o true_a desire_n as_o carry_v we_o even_o out_o of_o ourselves_o and_o to_o make_v no_o such_o account_n of_o this_o present_a life_n but_o to_o be_v well_o advise_v to_o shoot_v at_o a_o high_a matter_n and_o thus_o much_o as_o touch_v the_o first_o point_n which_o here_o we_o have_v to_o note_v the_o second_o be_v that_o this_o desire_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v only_o as_o a_o waver_a desire_n but_o a_o ardent_a and_o a_o hot_a desire_n for_o he_o say_v that_o his_o soul_n have_v faint_v and_o why_o so_o let_v we_o here_o a_o little_a consider_v what_o our_o appetite_n and_o lust_n be_v when_o we_o turn_v ourselves_o away_o from_o god_n and_o give_v ourselves_o whole_o to_o worldly_a thing_n they_o be_v so_o excessive_a and_o inordinate_a that_o it_o be_v even_o pitiful_a be_v without_o end_n and_o measure_n but_o if_o we_o have_v a_o lean_a desire_n &_o such_o a_o one_o as_o i_o know_v not_o what_o to_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n this_o desire_n will_v be_v as_o soon_o allay_v as_o a_o drop_n of_o wine_n put_v into_o a_o hundred_o time_n so_o much_o water_n i_o beseech_v you_o what_o shall_v that_o be_v shall_v it_o taste_v any_o more_o as_o wine_n even_o so_o forcible_a shall_v the_o good_a affection_n of_o a_o faithful_a man_n be_v if_o this_o affection_n be_v not_o fervent_a and_o very_o vehement_a it_o shall_v be_v soon_o choke_v by_o the_o corruption_n of_o our_o carnal_a passion_n &_o affection_n which_o as_o i_o have_v before_o say_v have_v neither_o measure_n modesty_n nor_o temperance_n see_v then_o for_o the_o second_o point_n what_o we_o have_v here_o to_o note_v in_o this_o behalf_n to_o wit_n that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o that_o we_o have_v a_o mean_a desire_n to_o serve_v god_n for_o that_o will_v be_v very_o soon_o quench_v in_o we_o and_o be_v make_v nothing_o worth_a but_o we_o must_v be_v so_o attentive_a thereto_o as_o that_o we_o may_v able_a to_o say_v that_o our_o soul_n faint_v and_o languish_v that_o our_o power_n and_o strength_n drop_v and_o melt_v away_o as_o it_o be_v until_o such_o time_n as_o god_n relieve_v we_o in_o grant_v that_o unto_o we_o which_o we_o require_v of_o he_o the_o three_o point_n which_o we_o have_v here_o to_o note_v be_v the_o firmness_n and_o constancy_n in_o this_o our_o desire_n and_o see_v here_o why_o david_n be_v not_o content_v with_o this_o say_n that_o his_o soul_n be_v break_v out_o but_o he_o say_v always_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v this_o be_v not_o a_o blast_n of_o wound_n but_o a_o root_a affection_n in_o his_o heart_n and_o that_o he_o persevere_v therein_o now_o these_o three_o thing_n be_v most_o necessary_a for_o we_o see_v in_o the_o first_o place_n that_o we_o be_v as_o it_o be_v by_o nature_n incline_v to_o vanity_n because_o that_o be_v so_o addict_v unto_o the_o world_n we_o think_v no_o whit_n at_o all_o of_o heaven_n we_o ought_v therefore_o to_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o very_a attentive_a to_o this_o doctrine_n &_o to_o have_v a_o burn_a desire_n to_o follow_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o beside_o this_o our_o affection_n ought_v to_o be_v so_o vehement_a as_o that_o it_o may_v be_v able_a to_o have_v the_o dominion_n over_o all_o our_o affection_n which_o hinder_v we_o to_o cleave_v unto_o our_o god_n and_o even_o to_o be_v marvelous_o ravish_v therewith_o now_o it_o have_v need_v to_o be_v mighty_o strengthen_v with_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n for_o our_o lust_n be_v too_o too_o mad_a and_o furious_a if_o god_n stretch_v not_o forth_o his_o arm_n unto_o it_o what_o shall_v become_v thereof_o and_o put_v the_o case_n that_o we_o have_v a_o good_a desire_n sure_o it_o will_v very_o soon_o vanish_v away_o in_o us._n we_o must_v be_v wonderful_a fervent_a therein_o and_o afterward_o when_o we_o hall_n have_v such_o a_o good_a and_o steadfast_a affection_n we_o must_v be_v wonderful_o in_o love_n with_o the_o word_n of_o god_n not_o for_o a_o day_n nor_o yet_o for_o a_o short_a time_n but_o even_o so_o long_o as_o we_o live_v it_o follow_v soon_o after_o thou_o have_v destroy_v the_o proud_a curse_a be_v they_o that_o do_v err_v from_o all_o thy_o commandment_n david_n add_v hereto_o a_o other_o reason_n whereby_o he_o be_v more_o inflame_a to_o pray_v unto_o god_n and_o to_o address_v himself_o unto_o he_o to_o be_v teach_v in_o his_o word_n to_o wit_n what_o licence_n we_o will_v give_v unto_o ourselves_o experience_n very_o well_o teach_v us._n now_o god_n see_v that_o we_o be_v so_o easy_o bring_v to_o run_v at_o random_n send_v we_o example_n because_o he_o will_v bring_v we_o to_o walk_v in_o fear_n and_o careful_o and_o for_o our_o part_n when_o we_o see_v god_n to_o chastise_v the_o wicked_a and_o disobedient_a we_o shall_v by_o they_o take_v example_n and_o instruction_n loe_o here_o in_o sum_n what_o david_n say_v thou_o o_o lord_n have_v chastise_v the_o disobedient_a as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v true_a it_o be_v o_o lord_n that_o i_o have_v desire_v even_o with_o a_o vehement_a affection_n and_o true_a constancy_n to_o cleave_v unto_o thou_o and_o to_o thy_o holy_a commandment_n but_o yet_o have_v i_o need_v to_o blockishe_a and_o earthly_a it_o be_v meet_v that_o he_o shall_v so_o plain_o speak_v as_o that_o we_o may_v understand_v he_o nevertheless_o in_o this_o speech_n which_o carry_v no_o great_a glory_n with_o it_o ne_o yet_o be_v colour_v with_o any_o worldly_a eloquence_n be_v certain_a secret_n which_o may_v very_o well_o ravish_v we_o with_o marvelous_a astonishment_n and_o in_o deed_n the_o very_a cause_n why_o these_o faithless_a and_o comtemner_n of_o god_n so_o little_a esteem_n of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n be_v for_o that_o they_o be_v brutish_a never_o taste_v of_o that_o which_o it_o mean_v to_o utter_v see_v then_o whereupon_o this_o pride_n and_o ungodliness_n arise_v which_o we_o see_v at_o this_o day_n too_o be_v in_o the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o world_n so_o that_o there_o be_v very_o few_o which_o bear_v that_o reverence_n to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o they_o ought_v for_o it_o be_v a_o old_a say_n no_o man_n can_v love_v a_o thing_n before_o such_o time_n as_o he_o know_v it_o they_o then_o which_o be_v so_o blockish_a as_o that_o they_o have_v neither_o sense_n nor_o judgement_n right_o to_o discern_v of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n slip_v it_o over_o yea_o and_o tread_v such_o a_o inestimable_a treasure_n as_o it_o be_v under_o their_o foot_n but_o they_o which_o have_v once_o know_v what_o it_o be_v that_o god_n teach_v we_o in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n may_v very_o well_o say_v with_o david_n that_o they_o be_v wonderful_a thing_n and_o so_o high_a mystery_n as_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o wonder_v at_o they_o &_o do_v deserve_v that_o every_o one_o of_o we_o shall_v whole_o apply_v his_o mind_n thereto_o now_o he_o say_v that_o for_o this_o cause_n his_o soul_n do_v keep_v the_o testimony_n of_o god_n this_o import_v a_o great_a matter_n then_o if_o he_o have_v simple_o say_v i_o have_v keep_v they_o for_o he_o signify_v that_o he_o have_v keep_v they_o as_o we_o say_v with_o a_o hearty_a affection_n and_o lo_o how_o indeed_o we_o ought_v to_o esteem_v of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o god_n it_o be_v not_o only_o to_o have_v a_o opinion_n that_o it_o be_v excellent_a and_o worthy_a to_o be_v have_v in_o sovereign_a and_o high_a honour_n but_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v very_o earnest_o touch_v therewith_o that_o we_o may_v have_v such_o a_o fear_n and_o a_o obedience_n root_v in_o our_o heart_n as_o that_o the_o say_n of_o the_o prophet_n isaiah_n may_v be_v fulfil_v in_o we_o that_o we_o may_v tremble_v at_o the_o voice_n of_o our_o god_n loe_o here_o in_o effect_n the_o content_a of_o the_o first_o verse_n for_o we_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o be_v great_o learn_v for_o our_o right_n and_o perfect_a walk_n if_o we_o true_o and_o earnest_o desire_v to_o be_v his_o scholar_n &_o to_o prefer_v his_o word_n before_o all_o other_o thing_n david_n may_v very_o well_o say_v o_o lord_n i_o have_v desire_v to_o understand_v that_o which_o thou_o have_v show_v i_o by_o thy_o law_n and_o yet_o content_v not_o he_o himself_o with_o this_o only_a say_n but_o say_v namely_o that_o he_o open_v his_o mouth_n as_o a_o forepine_v ghost_n who_o be_v no_o long_o able_a to_o abide_v it_o and_o afterward_o he_o say_v that_o he_o draw_v in_o his_o breath_n that_o he_o be_v so_o zealous_a as_o that_o it_o take_v away_o as_o it_o be_v his_o very_a speech_n from_o he_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n that_o david_n mean_v here_o the_o very_a single_a affection_n wherewith_o he_o be_v touch_v not_o for_o any_o desire_n he_o have_v to_o commend_v himself_o but_o to_o show_v unto_o we_o by_o his_o example_n what_o our_o office_n &_o duty_n be_v towards_o god_n that_o be_v that_o we_o shall_v seek_v too_o profit_n ourselves_o by_o his_o word_n now_o than_o we_o have_v here_o to_o note_v that_o even_o they_o we_o shall_v be_v inflame_v with_o the_o word_n of_o god_n when_o as_o we_o shall_v have_v yea_o even_o such_o a_o vehement_a desire_n as_o hereof_o be_v mention_v make_v and_o as_o have_v be_v before_o speak_v off_o that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n ought_v to_o be_v more_o dear_a and_o precious_a unto_o we_o then_o all_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o world_n &_o more_o sweet_a than_o all_o other_o sweetness_n in_o the_o earth_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v have_v such_o a_o desire_n as_o this_o we_o shall_v find_v god_n to_o be_v always_o ready_a to_o accomplish_v that_o which_o be_v say_v in_o the_o song_n of_o the_o holy_a virgin_n that_o he_o have_v fill_v and_o satisfy_v the_o hungry_a and_o empty_a god_n will_v satisfy_v and_o fill_v those_o that_o hunger_n after_o the_o thing_n which_o concern_v but_o this_o present_a life_n and_o do_v you_o think_v that_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v desirous_a of_o his_o doctrine_n know_v it_o to_o be_v the_o most_o principal_a benefit_n that_o we_o can_v possible_o wish_v &_o whereunto_o we_o ought_v to_o apply_v our_o whole_a hart_n that_o he_o will_v let_v we_o famish_v do_v you_o suppose_v that_o he_o will_v not_o grant_v we_o so_o holy_a a_o desire_n and_o such_o a_o one_o as_o he_o approve_v above_o all_o the_o rest_n but_o by_o the_o way_n let_v we_o consider_v that_o we_o perceive_v not_o at_o this_o day_n the_o profit_n and_o edify_v which_o david_n bring_v unto_o we_o in_o this_o place_n because_o in_o deed_n we_o be_v over_o cold_a to_o seek_v after_o the_o will_n of_o god_n and_o to_o say_v true_o i_o beseech_v you_o can_v we_o find_v one_o among_o a_o hundred_o which_o desire_v it_o i_o say_v yea_o such_o a_o one_o as_o only_o have_v that_o affection_n to_o be_v teach_v of_o god_n we_o see_v to_o the_o contrary_a that_o we_o shall_v not_o need_v the_o very_a lest_o trifle_a toy_n to_o keep_v we_o at_o the_o gaze_n because_o we_o be_v so_o full_a of_o all_o vanity_n as_o be_v lamentable_a neither_o can_v the_o devil_n no_o soon_o set_v any_o thing_n before_o we_o which_o we_o will_v not_o run_v after_o and_o take_v occasion_n to_o be_v withdraw_v from_o all_o whatsoever_o be_v good_a &_o godly_a now_o then_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v see_v ourselves_o to_o be_v thus_o cold_a be_v this_o to_o come_v with_o such_o a_o fervency_n as_o be_v here_o declare_v unto_o we_o by_o david_n alas_o where_o shall_v we_o find_v it_o aught_o we_o not_o then_o even_o to_o be_v abash_v when_o as_o we_o shall_v see_v so_o few_o to_o be_v true_o teach_v of_o god_n consider_v that_o so_o small_a a_o number_n of_o people_n be_v touch_v to_o the_o quick_a with_o a_o true_a desire_n of_o his_o doctrine_n but_o we_o ought_v rather_o to_o think_v it_o more_o strange_a when_o as_o we_o see_v god_n to_o be_v so_o full_a of_o love_a kindness_n as_o too_o bear_v with_o our_o negligence_n that_o in_o steed_n of_o open_v our_o mouth_n and_o to_o desire_v his_o heavenly_a doctrine_n as_o david_n have_v do_v we_o open_v our_o mouth_n too_o crave_v such_o thing_n as_o do_v nothing_o else_o but_o offend_v and_o grieve_v the_o majesty_n of_o god_n for_o in_o that_o be_v our_o whole_a delight_n and_o upon_o it_o bestow_v we_o all_o our_o power_n and_o strength_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v after_o this_o sort_n forsake_v god_n and_o seek_v after_o the_o transitory_a thing_n of_o this_o world_n yea_o the_o which_o can_v but_o hurt_v and_o lead_v into_o everlasting_a destruction_n be_v we_o not_o worthy_a that_o god_n shall_v leave_v and_o forsake_v we_o as_o most_o miserable_a and_o wretched_a caitiff_n and_o therefore_o this_o doctrine_n be_v not_o here_o set_v down_o in_o vain_a let_v we_o then_o understande_v that_o god_n mean_v here_o to_o exhort_v we_o by_o the_o example_n of_o david_n that_o if_o we_o will_v be_v well_o instruct_v by_o his_o word_n we_o ought_v with_o such_o a_o humility_n as_o here_o mention_n be_v make_v of_o too_o come_v unto_o he_o with_o a_o earnest_a desire_n &_o zeal_n know_v this_o to_o be_v such_o a_o benefit_n as_o deserve_v to_o be_v prefer_v above_o all_o the_o rest_n even_o too_o know_v the_o will_n and_o love_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o consider_v that_o in_o it_o consist_v and_o rest_v our_o whole_a salvation_n now_o it_o follow_v in_o the_o four_o verse_n look_v thou_o upon_o i_o and_o be_v merciful_a unto_o i_o as_o thou_o use_v to_o do_v unto_o those_o that_o love_v thy_o name_n here_o david_n right_o well_o show_v what_o the_o desire_n and_o petition_n of_o all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n ought_v to_o be_v to_o wit_n that_o they_o must_v hang_v upon_o the_o mere_a mercy_n of_o god_n and_o to_o know_v that_o all_o their_o felicity_n consist_v therein_o and_o so_o to_o stay_v themselves_o upon_o this_o ground_n and_o foundation_n that_o god_n look_v with_o his_o eye_n upon_o they_o too_o guide_v and_o govern_v they_o now_o this_o thing_n be_v great_o to_o be_v observe_v because_o that_o man_n common_o make_v themselves_o believe_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v bless_v if_o they_o may_v obtain_v that_o which_o their_o flesh_n desire_v as_o when_o the_o glutton_n shall_v have_v wherwithal_o to_o fill_v his_o filthy_a paunch_n so_o that_o it_o may_v stand_v astrout_v the_o whoremonger_n to_o enjoy_v all_o his_o foul_a villainy_n &_o beastly_a lechery_n the_o covetous_a man_n to_o be_v so_o scrape_v as_o that_o he_o care_v not_o what_o he_o get_v nor_o how_o he_o come_v by_o his_o good_n to_o lay_v land_n to_o land_n and_o too_o be_v fill_v with_o a_o other_o man_n blood_n loe_o these_o be_v the_o man_n as_o they_o think_v which_o be_v bless_v yea_o and_o although_o they_o be_v not_o so_o give_v to_o wickedness_n as_o open_o to_o grieve_v the_o majesty_n of_o god_n yet_o for_o all_o that_o you_o shall_v have_v very_o few_o which_o will_v acknowledge_v themselves_o to_o be_v accurse_v but_o that_o god_n have_v care_n over_o they_o and_o their_o salvation_n &_o that_o there_o be_v none_o other_o blessedness_n nor_o felicity_n but_o even_o this_o that_o they_o be_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o under_o his_o protection_n and_o so_o much_o the_o rather_o ought_v we_o too_o record_n and_o have_v often_o in_o mind_n this_o lesson_n when_o as_o david_n say_v o_o look_v upon_o i_o o_o lord_n and_o be_v merciful_a unto_o i_o for_o by_o this_o he_o signify_v unto_o we_o that_o if_o we_o will_v have_v our_o life_n to_o be_v bless_v if_o we_o will_v have_v good_a success_n in_o all_o our_o affair_n lo_o from_o this_o fountain_n must_v we_o draw_v all_o our_o felicity_n which_o be_v the_o providence_n of_o god_n because_o we_o shall_v in_o no_o wise_a doubt_n but_o that_o he_o care_v for_o we_o and_o bestow_v &_o employ_v himself_o for_o our_o preservation_n when_o it_o be_v thus_o with_o we_o all_o the_o rest_n can_v but_o go_v well_o with_o we_o but_o if_o this_o point_n be_v want_v we_o be_v very_o miserable_a although_o it_o seem_v to_o we_o to_o have_v even_o asmuch_o as_n can_v be_v wish_v now_o by_o the_o way_n let_v we_o note_v that_o david_n in_o beseech_v god_n to_o be_v merciful_a unto_o he_o declare_v that_o so_o long_o as_o we_o be_v in_o this_o world_n that_o we_o be_v subject_n too_o a_o number_n of_o calamity_n and_o affliction_n and_o so_o we_o have_v great_a need_n of_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n or_o else_o we_o shall_v carry_v away_o all_o the_o blow_n as_o we_o say_v among_o so_o many_o grievous_a encounter_n as_o
shall_v be_v lamentable_a now_o this_o may_v serve_v we_o for_o two_o purpose_n the_o one_o be_v that_o we_o be_v here_o below_o upon_o the_o earth_n may_v make_v our_o account_n that_o we_o can_v be_v here_o as_o it_o be_v in_o paradise_n to_o have_v such_o rest_n and_o quietness_n as_o we_o will_v chief_o desire_v to_o lack_v nothing_o and_o not_o to_o be_v subject_a to_o any_o grief_n nor_o displeasure_n no_o not_o so_o but_o contrariwise_o let_v we_o know_v that_o here_o god_n subiect_v we_o to_o a_o great_a number_n of_o wretchedness_n and_o misery_n to_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v be_v always_o call_v upon_o he_o for_o his_o mercy_n and_o too_o be_v always_o run_v unto_o he_o for_o it_o lo_o here_o the_o first_o point_n which_o we_o be_v to_o consider_v of_o in_o this_o place_n that_o the_o faithful_a to_o the_o outward_a show_n shall_v be_v very_o miserable_a and_o in_o a_o most_o wretched_a case_n so_o long_o as_o they_o shall_v live_v here_o bylowe_a and_o the_o meaning_n of_o god_n be_v to_o hold_v we_o under_o this_o condition_n to_o the_o end_n to_o awaken_v we_o that_o we_o may_v have_v a_o far_o great_a affection_n to_o call_v upon_o he_o and_o to_o cleave_v whole_o unto_o he_o now_o if_o we_o shall_v have_v this_o consideration_n with_o we_o we_o may_v then_o in_o the_o second_o place_n say_v with_o david_n have_v mercy_n upon_o we_o o_o lord_n that_o be_v to_o say_v we_o may_v be_v assure_v in_o all_o our_o misery_n that_o god_n will_v be_v pitiful_a and_o merciful_a unto_o we_o yea_o so_o that_o we_o desire_v he_o as_o we_o be_v here_o teach_v too_o do_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n namely_o david_n add_v as_o thou_o use_v too_o do_v unto_o those_o which_o love_v thy_o name_n this_o be_v a_o sentence_n of_o judgement_n which_o be_v here_o set_v down_o but_o it_o sometime_o signify_v measure_n sometime_o estate_n order_n or_o fashion_n the_o sense_n be_v not_o dark_a for_o it_o be_v asmuch_o as_n if_o he_o have_v say_v o_o lord_n have_v mercy_n upon_o i_o even_o as_o thou_o be_v wont_a to_o have_v mercy_n upon_o those_o which_o call_v upon_o thy_o name_n now_o we_o be_v to_o gather_v from_o this_o say_n that_o david_n make_v not_o this_o petition_n only_o for_o himself_o but_o have_v set_v down_o unto_o we_o a_o general_a rule_n which_o we_o may_v and_o ought_v too_o apply_v unto_o every_o child_n of_o god_n too_o the_o end_n that_o every_o one_o for_o his_o own_o part_n may_v be_v sure_a that_o god_n will_v have_v mercy_n upon_o he_o and_o stretch_v forth_o his_o hand_n to_o aid_v he_o in_o his_o need_n and_o why_o so_o for_o the_o holy_a ghost_n namely_o pronounce_v that_o it_o be_v the_o ordinary_a manner_n of_o god_n to_o be_v love_v and_o pitiful_a to_o all_o those_o which_o love_v his_o name_n what_o remain_v then_o for_o we_o to_o do_v forsooth_o we_o must_v love_v the_o name_n of_o god_n and_o here_o we_o be_v also_o to_o consider_v what_o this_o say_n mean_v too_o love_v the_o name_n of_o god_n for_o we_o shall_v have_v some_o man_n which_o will_v fear_v god_n so_o so_o and_o yet_o be_v content_v never_o to_o come_v near_o he_o if_o they_o can_v otherwise_o choose_v yea_o they_o will_v not_o stick_v to_o shut_v the_o door_n against_o he_o and_o keep_v themselves_o as_o far_o from_o he_o as_o be_v possible_a now_o david_n show_v here_o unto_o we_o what_o the_o true_a fear_n of_o god_n be_v to_o wit_n that_o we_o must_v love_v he_o of_o our_o own_o good_a will_n and_o that_o with_o reverence_n and_o not_o constrain_o to_o love_n and_o fear_v he_o but_o that_o we_o desire_v too_o come_v unto_o he_o and_o whole_o to_o submit_v ourselves_o unto_o his_o majesty_n if_o we_o shall_v do_v thus_o then_o may_v we_o true_o say_v that_o we_o love_v he_o &_o in_o love_v he_o fear_v he_o also_o in_o very_a deed_n these_o be_v thing_n that_o may_v not_o be_v separate_v because_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o we_o right_o too_o reverence_n god_n and_o to_o fear_v he_o as_o we_o ought_v except_o as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o psalm_n that_o we_o first_o acknowledge_v he_o to_o be_v our_o father_n look_v for_o all_o goodness_n and_o courtesy_n from_o he_o this_o then_o afford_v we_o in_o the_o first_o place_n that_o we_o be_v assure_v that_o god_n love_v we_o that_o we_o must_v take_v he_o as_o for_o our_o father_n that_o we_o feel_v that_o he_o in_o the_o love_a of_o we_o desire_v nothing_o else_o but_o our_o salvation_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o point_n and_o after_o from_o thence_o also_o proceed_v humility_n whenas_o we_o see_v god_n so_o too_o abase_v himself_o as_o too_o seek_v for_o we_o miserable_a creature_n wretched_a worm_n of_o the_o earth_n yea_o even_o very_o condemn_v and_o utter_o lose_v person_n the_o bondslave_n of_o satan_n that_o god_n seek_v for_o we_o even_o in_o hell_n and_o draw_v we_o so_o love_o unto_o himself_o and_o must_v it_o not_o needs_o be_v that_o we_o be_v very_o stubborn_a if_o we_o be_v not_o touch_v and_o move_v to_o come_v unto_o he_o and_o yield_v ourselves_o untoo_o he_o and_o be_v rule_v and_o govern_v by_o his_o hand_n and_o protection_n loe_o say_v i_o how_o we_o ought_v to_o love_v the_o name_n
