best_a to_o bring_v christ_n to_o his_o death_n he_o can_v devise_v not_o a_o more_o subtle_a shift_n than_o under_o a_o shift_n a_o pretence_n of_o kindness_n to_o cover_v his_o villainy_n when_o god_n except_o he_o have_v some_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o it_o now_o to_o the_o use_v and_o first_o be_v this_o so_o that_o god_n do_v not_o only_a love_n and_o inward_o affect_v his_o child_n but_o do_v also_o manifest_a the_o same_o by_o sign_n and_o token_n that_o they_o may_v be_v out_o of_o doubt_n thereof_o then_o this_o may_v serve_v to_o confute_v that_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n who_o hold_v that_o no_o man_n can_v be_v certain_o assure_v of_o the_o love_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n he_o may_v hope_v well_o and_o so_o forth_o but_o no_o man_n can_v have_v any_o other_o persuasion_n they_o do_v so_o mince_v the_o matter_n that_o mountain_n seem_v molehill_n and_o molehill_n mote_n second_o will_v thou_o have_v pardon_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n then_o be_o unworthy_a the_o very_a name_n of_o son_n so_o many_o have_v be_v my_o sin_n so_o lewd_a have_v be_v my_o course_n the_o instruction_n hence_o may_v be_v this_o doct._n the_o only_a way_n to_o obtain_v pardon_n for_o sin_n and_o procure_v god_n favour_n be_v with_o a_o humble_a heart_n and_o lowly_a soul_n to_o come_v before_o he_o the_o only_a way_n to_o be_v exalt_v by_o he_o be_v to_o come_v unto_o he_o in_o humility_n of_o soul_n and_o lowliness_n of_o spirit_n the_o practice_n of_o this_o prodigal_n be_v a_o precedent_n for_o we_o the_o reason_n may_v be_v these_o first_o such_o only_o have_v god_n promise_v to_o look_v upon_o and_o show_v mercy_n to_o to_o this_o man_n will_v i_o look_v even_o to_o he_o that_o be_v poor_a and_o of_o a_o contrite_a spirit_n and_o again_o and_o humble_a spirit_n to_o revive_v the_o spirit_n of_o the_o humble_a and_o to_o revive_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o contrite_a one_o as_o for_o the_o other_o they_o have_v no_o promise_n of_o favour_n or_o of_o mercy_n and_o second_o such_o only_o be_v capable_a of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n full_a vessel_n can_v receive_v no_o liquor_n and_o haughty_a heart_n no_o favour_n for_o they_o despise_v it_o as_o therefore_o the_o vessel_n must_v be_v empty_v and_o the_o air_n and_o wind_n remove_v before_o any_o solid_a liquor_n can_v be_v receive_v so_o must_v thou_o first_o cast_v out_o haughtiness_n and_o pride_n out_o of_o thy_o heart_n before_o mercy_n can_v be_v obtain_v let_v the_o use_n of_o this_o be_v for_o exhortation_n come_v before_o the_o lord_n with_o humble_a soul_n
