himself_o make_v a_o curse_n for_o you_o be_v it_o not_o he_o by_o who_o alone_o you_o escape_v everlasting_a burn_n and_o hope_v to_o obtain_v a_o inheritance_n incorruptible_a undefiled_a and_o that_o fade_v not_o away_o reserve_v in_o heaven_n for_o you_o be_v there_o any_o thing_n either_o in_o this_o world_n or_o in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v that_o be_v comparable_a to_o he_o look_v upon_o he_o well_o o_o believe_a soul_n both_o in_o respect_n of_o what_o he_o once_o be_v and_o in_o respect_n of_o what_o he_o now_o be_v and_o you_o can_v but_o say_v he_o be_v make_v up_o of_o love_n henceforth_o therefore_o wonder_v not_o o_o blind_a and_o ignorant_a world_n that_o the_o people_n of_o god_n express_v such_o passionate_a long_a desire_n after_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o this_o bless_a jesus_n but_o rather_o wonder_v at_o yourselves_o that_o such_o blindness_n and_o darkness_n shall_v be_v find_v within_o you_o that_o you_o shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o discern_v those_o grace_n and_o favour_n towards_o it_o but_o do_v most_o earnest_o wish_v not_o only_o to_o see_v he_o but_o to_o live_v for_o ever_o with_o he_o o_o my_o soul_n whence_o be_v it_o then_o that_o thou_o bless_a lord_n jesus_n who_o have_v all_o loveliness_n and_o amiableness_n in_o thou_o look_v down_o gracious_o upon_o thy_o poor_a creature_n and_o discover_v unto_o they_o more_o of_o those_o ravish_a transcendent_a beauty_n and_o excellency_n that_o be_v in_o thou_o and_o let_v we_o every_o day_n have_v more_o and_o far_a insight_n into_o those_o never_o to_o be_v full_o know_v perfection_n of_o glory_n and_o loveliness_n that_o be_v in_o thyself_o that_o thereby_o we_o may_v be_v enable_v not_o only_o to_o commend_v thou_o a_o thousand_o time_n more_o feel_o and_o affectionate_o unto_o other_o but_o may_v thereby_o also_o win_v upon_o yea_o command_v the_o affection_n and_o desire_v of_o all_o that_o hear_v of_o thou_o unto_o thou_o that_o nothing_o short_a of_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o thyself_o and_o the_o manifestation_n of_o thy_o love_n and_o favour_n in_o eternal_a glory_n may_v satisfy_v and_o content_v we_o or_o they_o but_o that_o we_o may_v continual_o be_v cry_v out_o in_o that_o know_a language_n of_o thy_o church_n come_v lord_n jesus_n come_v quick_o four_o and_o last_o the_o saint_n happiness_n in_o heaven_n consist_v in_o this_o that_o there_o they_o shall_v have_v the_o vision_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n himself_o be_v always_o where_o he_o be_v see_v his_o face_n and_o behold_v his_o glory_n now_o in_o speak_v to_o this_o great_a happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n the_o beatifical_a vision_n of_o god_n i_o shall_v content_v myself_o with_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v most_o plain_a and_o will_v be_v most_o call_v it_o sometime_o a_o see_v of_o the_o face_n of_o god_n rev._n 22.4_o they_o shall_v see_v his_o face_n sometime_o it_o be_v set_v forth_o by_o our_o become_a like_a unto_o god_n and_o see_v he_o as_o he_o be_v so_o in_o 1_o john_n 3.2_o now_o say_v the_o apostle_n we_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o it_o do_v not_o no_o nor_o can_v it_o yet_o appear_v what_o we_o shall_v be_v but_o shall_v behold_v in_o it_o but_o in_o a_o more_o especial_a manner_n shall_v we_o be_v transport_v with_o admiration_n and_o gratitude_n when_o the_o great_a god_n shall_v vouchsafe_v to_o discover_v to_o each_o particular_a glorify_a soul_n in_o heaven_n the_o reasonableness_n of_o all_o his_o dispensation_n towards_o they_o make_v visible_a to_o they_o not_o only_o how_o necessary_a and_o righteous_a but_o how_o merciful_a and_o gracious_a he_o be_v in_o bring_v those_o very_a affliction_n upon_o they_o which_o they_o usual_o account_v severe_a dispensation_n there_o be_v no_o rod_n that_o ever_o god_n take_v into_o his_o hand_n to_o chastise_v they_o withal_o that_o ever_o come_v soon_o fall_v heavy_a or_o abode_n long_o upon_o they_o than_o the_o occasion_n that_o extort_a it_o from_o he_o do_v require_v it_o shall_v and_o though_o sometime_o their_o expectation_n be_v disappoint_v yet_o be_v it_o always_o a_o happy_a disappointment_n for_o they_o because_o intend_v by_o god_n to_o secure_v their_o title_n unto_o far_o better_a thing_n which_o now_o they_o enjoy_v than_o any_o they_o can_v hope_v for_o here_o and_o who_o be_v there_o that_o have_v taste_v the_o pleasurable_a and_o delightful_a life_n that_o a_o holy_a soul_n lead_v who_o mind_n be_v frequent_o take_v up_o in_o the_o study_n and_o contemplation_n of_o those_o two_o excellent_a theme_n the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n but_o must_v profess_v as_o a_o great_a noble_a and_o learned_a person_n do_v both_o very_o ingenious_o and_o pious_o also_o that_o though_o there_o be_v something_o of_o difficulty_n in_o a_o studious_a employment_n of_o our_o thought_n in_o the_o contemplation_n of_o these_o thing_n yet_o be_v they_o also_o so_o please_v and_o invite_v that_o to_o give_v you_o his_o own_o word_n shall_v heaven_n say_v he_o afford_v i_o no_o great_a blessing_n than_o a_o clear_a account_n of_o the_o abstruse_a mystery_n of_o divinity_n and_o providence_n i_o shall_v value_v the_o have_v my_o understanding_n gratify_v and_o enrich_v with_o truth_n of_o so_o noble_a and_o precious_a a_o nature_n enough_o to_o court_v heaven_n at_o the_o rate_n of_o renounce_v for_o it_o all_o those_o unmanly_a sensuality_n and_o trifle_a vanity_n for_o which_o inconsiderate_a mortal_n be_v wont_a to_o forfeit_v that_o interest_n their_o saviour_n part_n though_o but_o in_o part_n sanctify_v still_o there_o be_v the_o relic_n of_o sin_n the_o remain_v of_o the_o old_a man_n in_o they_o while_o they_o be_v here_o the_o truth_n of_o grace_n they_o have_v but_o not_o the_o perfection_n of_o grace_n a_o absolute_a state_n of_o perfection_n be_v rather_o to_o be_v wish_v for_o than_o enjoy_v in_o this_o life_n the_o utmost_a that_o a_o godly_a man_n can_v attain_v to_o here_o be_v not_o to_o commit_v great_a sin_n nor_o to_o allow_v himself_o in_o little_a sin_n when_o through_o daily_a infirmity_n he_o do_v commit_v they_o now_o the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v the_o first_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n but_o yet_o they_o have_v the_o remainder_n of_o the_o old_a man_n in_o they_o now_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n help_v they_o to_o mortify_v sin_n and_o to_o keep_v it_o under_o but_o it_o do_v not_o enable_v they_o perfect_o to_o destroy_v it_o as_o it_o shall_v be_v in_o heaven_n here_o the_o righteous_a be_v deliver_v from_o the_o prevalency_n of_o their_o corruption_n for_o so_o be_v god_n gracious_a promise_n to_o his_o people_n that_o sin_n shall_v not_o have_v dominion_n over_o they_o and_o bless_v be_v god_n use_n of_o mean_n to_o strive_v and_o endeavour_v after_o perfection_n of_o grace_n though_o he_o can_v attain_v it_o but_o in_o heaven_n no_o godly_a man_n shall_v be_v defile_v with_o any_o sin_n or_o defective_a of_o any_o grace_n no_o nor_o yet_o want_v in_o any_o measure_n or_o degree_n of_o grace_n and_o holiness_n as_o now_o he_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n make_v perfect_a be_v there_o that_o be_v there_o be_v a_o perfection_n of_o grace_n and_o holiness_n in_o heaven_n that_o shall_v beautify_v the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n when_o they_o come_v there_o in_o this_o world_n the_o people_n of_o god_n be_v partly_o carnal_a and_o partly_o spiritual_a partly_o holy_a and_o partly_o sinful_a but_o in_o heaven_n they_o shall_v he_o perfect_o holy_a and_o spiritual_a free_v from_o all_o sinful_a mixture_n no_o dross_n with_o their_o gold_n no_o corruption_n mingle_v itself_o with_o their_o holiness_n their_o understanding_n shall_v be_v perfect_o holy_a without_o without_o any_o satiety_n or_o weariness_n here_o on_o earth_n they_o be_v often_o start_v aside_o to_o the_o creature_n with_o a_o inordinate_a love_n and_o delight_n but_o in_o heaven_n there_o shall_v be_v a_o eternal_a fixedness_n of_o soul_n with_o infinite_a complacency_n and_o delight_n in_o god_n here_o our_o affection_n be_v under_o great_a irregularity_n to_o instance_n in_o two_o brief_o and_o they_o be_v the_o affection_n of_o love_n and_o joy_n as_o to_o the_o affection_n of_o love_n it_o be_v well_o know_v unto_o all_o what_o be_v a_o christian_n command_a duty_n namely_o to_o love_v the_o lord_n our_o god_n with_o all_o our_o heart_n with_o all_o our_o soul_n with_o all_o our_o mind_n and_o with_o all_o our_o strength_n and_o this_o love_n to_o god_n operate_a by_o love_n to_o our_o neighbour_n be_v so_o acceptable_a a_o duty_n that_o it_o be_v call_v by_o the_o apostle_n the_o fulfil_n of_o the_o law_n but_o alas_o how_o do_v the_o best_a of_o god_n servant_n fall_v short_a in_o this_o respect_n when_o all_o they_o attain_v to_o be_v only_o to_o love_n god_n in_o sincerity_n and_o with_o some_o degree_n of_o prevalency_n above_o all_o other_o enjoyment_n but_o to_o love_n god_n so_o as_o to_o desire_v he_o so_o as_o to_o rejoice_v and_o delight_v in_o he_o above_o all_o other_o thing_n with_o the_o utmost_a extremity_n of_o love_n and_o affection_n in_o perpetuity_n and_o constancy_n oh_o where_o be_v the_o soul_n that_o can_v be_v find_v that_o do_v sol_fw-mi vain_a and_o foolish_a yea_o sinful_a object_n also_o entangle_v our_o affection_n and_o draw_v away_o our_o heart_n from_o god_n to_o a_o overloving_a and_o delight_v in_o they_o and_o to_o a_o impair_n and_o weaken_n of_o our_o love_n and_o affection_n towards_o god_n how_o often_o do_v we_o meet_v with_o such_o complaint_n as_o these_o in_o the_o mouth_n of_o god_n people_n oh_o that_o we_o can_v love_v god_n more_o oh_o that_o we_o can_v love_v christ_n more_o but_o alas_o we_o can_v their_o faith_n discover_v to_o they_o a_o wonderful_a amiableness_n in_o god_n and_o christ_n which_o draw_v out_o the_o desire_n of_o their_o soul_n after_o they_o so_o say_v the_o apostle_n to_o you_o that_o believe_v he_o be_v precious_a or_o desirable_a but_o yet_o they_o find_v they_o can_v love_v god_n as_o they_o ought_v nor_o as_o they_o desire_v to_o do_v for_o by_o reason_n of_o that_o earthliness_n that_o be_v still_o in_o they_o their_o heart_n and_o affection_n be_v divide_v and_o carry_v out_o after_o other_o object_n so_o that_o as_o the_o apostle_n complain_v they_o can_v do_v the_o thing_n that_o they_o will_v but_o now_o in_o heaven_n these_o complaint_n shall_v cease_v and_o all_o the_o disorder_n and_o irregularity_n of_o the_o affection_n shall_v be_v cure_v and_o the_o soul_n shall_v perfect_o and_o everlasting_o love_n god_n and_o contemplate_v the_o excellency_n and_o perfection_n that_o be_v in_o he_o with_o unspeakable_a delight_n and_o satisfaction_n for_o where_o ever_o there_o be_v the_o act_n of_o these_o affection_n it_o always_o carry_v much_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n along_o with_o it_o especial_o where_o the_o object_n belove_v be_v deserve_v and_o the_o affection_n be_v strong_a towards_o it_o now_o in_o heaven_n the_o object_n be_v most_o deserve_a to_o be_v belove_v for_o it_o be_v the_o ever_o bless_a god_n and_o the_o affection_n of_o the_o soul_n will_v be_v strong_a for_o there_o love_n shall_v be_v in_o its_o height_n and_o perfection_n and_o that_o which_o result_v from_o hence_o must_v be_v infinite_a satisfaction_n and_o delight_n unto_o the_o soul_n so_o that_o it_o can_v choose_v but_o it_o must_v love_v god_n there_o holy_a soul_n shall_v have_v continual_a view_n of_o the_o perfect_a beauty_n of_o he_o who_o be_v altogether_o lovely_a yea_o who_o be_v love_n itself_o the_o sight_n of_o who_o will_v not_o only_o wonderful_o draw_v their_o heart_n and_o affection_n if_o not_o so_o yet_o we_o often_o exceed_v in_o our_o joy_n and_o delight_n common_o it_o be_v with_o we_o in_o our_o enjoyment_n of_o the_o world_n as_o it_o be_v with_o we_o in_o our_o loss_n in_o the_o world_n when_o we_o lose_v the_o comfort_n of_o the_o world_n we_o over_o grieve_v and_o be_v cast_v down_o so_o excessive_o as_o if_o we_o have_v nothing_o leave_v to_o take_v any_o delight_n or_o comfort_n in_o and_o just_o so_o be_v it_o with_o we_o in_o our_o enjoyment_n of_o the_o world_n when_o god_n bless_v we_o with_o outward_a comfort_n we_o overlove_v and_o delight_v in_o they_o so_o that_o that_o which_o god_n give_v we_o to_o draw_v our_o heart_n near_o to_o himself_o by_o the_o excess_n of_o our_o joy_n and_o delight_n in_o they_o takes_z away_o our_o heart_n more_o from_o he_o insomuch_o that_o we_o be_v more_o forgetful_a of_o god_n by_o our_o inordinate_a rejoice_n in_o what_o he_o bestow_v upon_o we_o a_o very_a evil_n and_o ungrateful_a return_n unto_o god_n for_o his_o kindness_n to_o we_o but_o yet_o it_o be_v that_o which_o we_o be_v very_o inclinable_a unto_o hence_o therefore_o be_v it_o that_o we_o be_v so_o often_o caution_v against_o all_o excessive_a christian_n in_o love_v and_o delight_v in_o worldly_a enjoyment_n to_o keep_v their_o affection_n within_o their_o bound_n and_o to_o express_v no_o more_o of_o joy_n and_o delight_n in_o those_o thing_n than_o be_v due_a to_o they_o that_o it_o be_v almost_o necessary_a to_o lay_v a_o command_n upon_o they_o not_o to_o love_v the_o world_n at_o all_o such_o a_o proneness_n be_v there_o in_o the_o best_a of_o christian_n to_o transgress_v when_o any_o allowance_n be_v give_v unto_o these_o carnal_a heart_n and_o affection_n of_o we_o towards_o worldly_a enjoyment_n it_o be_v true_a a_o believer_n be_v not_o only_o allow_v but_o command_v to_o rejoice_v yea_o and_o to_o rejoice_v always_o and_o none_o have_v more_o cause_n so_o to_o do_v than_o he_o but_o it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o person_n or_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n but_o in_o god_n so_o run_v the_o command_n 1_o thes_n 5._o rejoice_v always_o in_o the_o lord_n and_o again_o i_o say_v rejoice_v but_o yet_o all_o rejoice_n in_o outward_a enjoyment_n be_v not_o forbid_v he_o neither_o a_o christian_a who_o be_v accept_v of_o god_n may_v as_o the_o wise_a man_n speak_v eat_v his_o bread_n with_o joy_n and_o drink_v his_o wine_n with_o a_o merry_a heart_n eccles_n 4.7_o that_o be_v he_o may_v rejoice_v and_o be_v cheerful_a in_o the_o use_n of_o those_o comfort_n and_o refreshment_n that_o god_n bestow_v upon_o he_o but_o yet_o in_o the_o great_a abundance_n of_o they_o his_o moderation_n ought_v to_o be_v know_v unto_o all_o man_n and_o still_o he_o must_v rejoice_v in_o they_o as_o if_o he_o rejoice_v not_o that_o be_v use_v they_o and_o rejoice_v in_o they_o with_o a_o holy_a kind_n of_o indifferency_n of_o soul_n but_o now_o here_o be_v the_o great_a fail_v of_o christian_n they_o exceed_v those_o bound_n and_o limit_n that_o god_n allow_v they_o let_v out_o their_o heart_n and_o affection_n inordinate_o towards_o they_o but_o now_o in_o heaven_n these_o delightful_a affection_n of_o the_o soul_n shall_v be_v regulate_v a_o saint_n joy_v there_o shall_v be_v always_o right_o place_v and_o due_o bound_v god_n will_v there_o be_v the_o only_a object_n of_o our_o joy_n and_o the_o right_a bound_a of_o our_o joy_n
for_o my_o name_n sake_n rejoice_v and_o be_v exceed_o glad_a for_o great_a be_v your_o reward_n in_o heaven_n thus_o whatever_o condition_n the_o people_n of_o god_n be_v in_o yet_o still_o they_o ought_v always_o to_o joy_n and_o rejoice_v in_o god_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v this_o because_o they_o have_v the_o special_a presence_n of_o god_n with_o they_o and_o where_o that_o be_v there_o be_v frequent_a though_o secret_a discovery_n of_o god_n love_n unto_o they_o how_o often_o do_v god_n lift_v up_o the_o light_n of_o his_o countenance_n upon_o such_o whilst_o they_o be_v attend_v upon_o he_o in_o holy_a duty_n secret_o whisper_v to_o their_o soul_n that_o they_o be_v accept_v in_o the_o belove_a vouchsafe_v to_o they_o some_o discovery_n of_o the_o invisible_a and_o unseen_a but_o yet_o real_a glory_n and_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n and_o of_o their_o interest_n in_o it_o whereby_o their_o soul_n be_v even_o ravish_v with_o a_o excess_n of_o strange_a and_o unusual_a joy_n and_o delight_n beyond_o what_o they_o be_v able_a to_o express_v and_o yet_o all_o this_o be_v whilst_o as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v believer_n walk_v by_o faith_n and_o not_o by_o sight_n now_o if_o this_o little_a sight_n and_o these_o small_a enjoyment_n that_o the_o saint_n have_v of_o god_n here_o which_o in_o comparison_n of_o what_o they_o shall_v see_v and_o enjoy_v of_o god_n hereafter_o may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v no_o sight_n for_o so_o the_o apostle_n call_v it_o 1_o pet._n 1.8_o who_o as_o yet_o have_v not_o see_v if_o this_o sight_n of_o god_n which_o as_o it_o follow_v in_o the_o next_o word_n be_v only_o our_o believe_v in_o god_n if_o this_o fill_v the_o soul_n of_o a_o believer_n with_o so_o great_a joy_n and_o delight_n what_o then_o shall_v the_o beatifical_a vision_n of_o god_n in_o heaven_n do_v if_o faith_n and_o hope_n do_v so_o ravish_v the_o soul_n of_o believer_n with_o joy_n and_o delight_n even_o then_o whilst_o we_o be_v absent_a from_o the_o lord_n for_o as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v whilst_o we_o be_v at_o home_n in_o the_o body_n we_o be_v absent_a from_o the_o lord_n if_o yet_o the_o joy_n of_o faith_n and_o hope_n be_v so_o great_a o_o what_o then_o shall_v the_o joy_n of_o vision_n be_v when_o believer_n shall_v not_o only_o be_v absent_a from_o the_o body_n and_o present_a with_o the_o lord_n but_o shall_v be_v ever_o present_a with_o the_o lord_n both_o in_o soul_n and_o body_n see_v he_o face_n to_o face_n and_o enjoy_v he_o as_o he_o be_v sure_o this_o joy_n must_v needs_o be_v unspeakable_o great_a and_o glorious_a indeed_o this_o sight_n of_o god_n be_v that_o which_o will_v not_o only_o amaze_v the_o eye_n with_o wonder_n but_o ravish_v the_o heart_n with_o eternal_a ecstasy_n of_o joy_n and_o delight_n four_o the_o saint_n sight_n and_o vision_n of_o god_n in_o heaven_n shall_v be_v permanent_a and_o perpetual_a in_o this_o life_n the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v not_o always_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n with_o they_o nor_o the_o manifestation_n of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n towards_o they_o but_o be_v often_o in_o the_o dark_a for_o either_o they_o sin_v away_o god_n presence_n from_o they_o which_o be_v most_o frequent_a or_o else_o god_n for_o wise_a and_o holy_a end_n see_v good_a to_o withdraw_v himself_o from_o they_o for_o a_o time_n and_o when_o either_o of_o these_o happen_v it_o be_v a_o sad_a time_n with_o such_o soul_n especial_o if_o sin_n have_v be_v the_o cause_n of_o it_o such_o therefore_o walk_v very_o deject_o and_o the_o truth_n be_v their_o case_n be_v very_o sad_a but_o yet_o it_o be_v that_o which_o many_o of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v experience_v see_v how_o the_o church_n complain_v esa_n 49.14_o but_o zion_n say_v the_o lord_n have_v forsake_v i_o my_o god_n have_v forget_v i_o so_o the_o spouse_n cant._n 5.6_o i_o open_v to_o my_o belove_a but_o my_o beloved_n have_v withdraw_v himself_o my_o soul_n fail_v when_o he_o speak_v i_o seek_v he_o but_o i_o can_v not_o find_v he_o i_o call_v he_o but_o he_o give_v i_o no_o answer_n and_o as_o it_o have_v be_v thus_o with_o the_o people_n of_o god_n former_o so_o sad_a experience_n tell_v we_o it_o be_v so_o with_o many_o of_o they_o still_o sometime_o they_o enjoy_v something_o of_o god_n his_o presence_n and_o the_o manifestation_n of_o his_o love_n towards_o they_o in_o a_o duty_n and_o o_o how_o sweet_a and_o delightful_a be_v it_o to_o their_o soul_n when_o they_o thus_o meet_v with_o god_n it_o be_v heaven_n upon_o earth_n but_o these_o thing_n do_v not_o last_v for_o when_o duty_n be_v end_v the_o people_n of_o god_n grow_v careless_a and_o remiss_a yield_v to_o temptation_n give_v way_n to_o sin_n become_v vain_a and_o worldly_a and_o so_o lose_v the_o presence_n of_o god_n by_o reason_n whereof_o they_o walk_v in_o darkness_n have_v no_o manifestation_n of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n towards_o they_o insomuch_o that_o their_o soul_n be_v even_o ready_a to_o faint_v and_o sink_v within_o they_o under_o a_o despair_n of_o mercy_n this_o now_o be_v the_o case_n of_o many_o a_o child_n of_o god_n in_o this_o world_n sometime_o he_o have_v the_o benign_a instuence_n of_o the_o divine_a favour_n dart_v into_o his_o soul_n which_o make_v he_o great_o to_o rejoice_v but_o what_o god_n thus_o gracious_o give_v he_o do_v not_o wise_o and_o holy_o retain_v these_o joyful_a season_n abide_v not_o always_o with_o the_o people_n of_o god_n but_o they_o soon_o lose_v they_o the_o light_n of_o god_n countenance_n be_v eclipse_v and_o his_o face_n hide_v from_o they_o by_o reason_n of_o their_o foolishness_n but_o it_o be_v not_o thus_o in_o heaven_n no_o sin_n come_v there_o to_o intercept_v between_o the_o face_n of_o god_n and_o those_o holy_a soul_n for_o ever_o there_o be_v no_o complain_v of_o any_o saint_n in_o heaven_n that_o god_n have_v forsake_v he_o or_o hide_v his_o face_n from_o he_o but_o it_o shall_v ever_o be_v with_o those_o holy_a one_o as_o our_o lord_n tell_v we_o it_o be_v now_o with_o their_o angel_n matth._n 18.10_o they_o shall_v always_o behold_v the_o face_n of_o god_n in_o glory_n this_o bless_a object_n of_o the_o saint_n happiness_n in_o heaven_n shall_v never_o be_v withdraw_v from_o they_o to_o eternity_n nor_o shall_v their_o sight_n ever_o be_v weary_v with_o behold_v of_o it_o nay_o without_o this_o constant_a vision_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n heaven_n will_v not_o be_v a_o happiness_n great_a enough_o to_o fill_v and_o satisfy_v the_o desire_n of_o the_o saint_n their_o soul_n be_v so_o raise_v so_o capacious_a that_o they_o can_v be_v content_a with_o any_o thing_n even_o in_o heaven_n itself_o unless_o they_o enjoy_v god_n there_o shall_v god_n bestow_v upon_o they_o the_o glory_n of_o all_o the_o creature_n either_o in_o heaven_n or_o in_o earth_n shall_v he_o confer_v upon_o they_o the_o glory_n of_o all_o the_o king_n and_o emperor_n in_o the_o world_n yea_o shall_v he_o add_v to_o that_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o sun_n moon_n and_o star_n nay_o shall_v he_o add_v to_o they_o the_o glory_n of_o all_o the_o angel_n and_o cherubim_n in_o heaven_n yet_o still_o they_o will_v say_v they_o have_v not_o enough_o to_o make_v they_o happy_a for_o all_o these_o be_v not_o god_n when_o therefore_o god_n have_v give_v heaven_n to_o the_o saint_n he_o must_v there_o give_v they_o the_o vision_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o himself_o or_o else_o they_o will_v not_o account_v themselves_o happy_a nay_o i_o will_v go_v a_o little_a far_o still_o it_o be_v not_o the_o vision_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n in_o heaven_n for_o a_o little_a time_n suppose_v it_o be_v for_o a_o few_o day_n or_o year_n nay_o be_v it_o for_o many_o thousand_o of_o they_o this_o will_v not_o give_v their_o soul_n full_a satisfaction_n and_o contentment_n unless_o they_o can_v eternal_o enjoy_v god_n this_o only_a can_v make_v they_o complete_o happy_a and_o now_o and_o never_o till_o now_o do_v they_o say_v they_o have_v enough_o and_o o_o how_o sweet_a be_v this_o word_n ever_o unto_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n in_o the_o sense_n i_o be_o speak_v of_o ever_o to_o be_v with_o the_o lord_n ever_o to_o have_v he_o smile_v upon_o the_o soul_n ever_o to_o behold_v his_o face_n ever_o to_o have_v his_o presence_n with_o it_o and_o ever_o to_o be_v under_o the_o manifestation_n of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n here_o here_o be_v heaven_n and_o happiness_n indeed_o thus_o to_o see_v and_o enjoy_v god_n for_o ever_o and_o so_o much_o for_o the_o first_o thing_n what_o kind_n of_o sight_n or_o vision_n of_o god_n the_o saint_n shall_v have_v in_o heaven_n second_o wherein_o do_v it_o appear_v that_o this_o vision_n of_o god_n
into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n 2_o tim._n 3.12_o all_o that_o will_v live_v godly_a in_o christ_n jesus_n must_v suffer_v persecution_n they_o who_o be_v not_o of_o the_o world_n but_o choose_v by_o god_n out_o of_o the_o world_n be_v sure_a to_o meet_v with_o the_o world_n hatred_n so_o our_o lord_n tell_v we_o john_n 15.19_o john_n 17.14_o a_o saint_n peaceable_a and_o quiet_a state_n be_v yet_o to_o come_v in_o this_o life_n they_o receive_v all_o their_o evil_a thing_n from_o god_n from_o man_n and_o from_o devil_n and_o when_o they_o arrive_v at_o heaven_n their_o afflict_a persecute_a state_n be_v over_o and_o instead_o thereof_o they_o shall_v for_o ever_o be_v partaker_n of_o peace_n and_o joy_n o_o all_o you_o saint_n and_o people_n of_o god_n that_o now_o can_v set_v upon_o no_o work_n or_o service_n for_o god_n but_o you_o meet_v with_o opposition_n yea_o and_o if_o you_o will_v go_v through_o with_o it_o be_v sure_a not_o only_o to_o lose_v the_o love_n of_o the_o world_n and_o to_o part_v with_o many_o of_o your_o outward_a comfort_n and_o enjoyment_n in_o so_o do_v but_o also_o to_o meet_v with_o many_o enemy_n that_o will_v afflict_v and_o persecute_v you_o in_o the_o discharge_n of_o your_o duty_n yet_o be_v not_o affright_v at_o it_o but_o persevere_v therein_o and_o for_o your_o encouragement_n know_v that_o while_o you_o do_v so_o enjoyment_n of_o they_o but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o in_o heaven_n treasure_n lay_v up_o there_o be_v safe_a and_o secure_a there_o be_v no_o moth_n nor_o rust_n to_o corrupt_v it_o nor_o no_o thief_n to_o rob_v and_o spoil_v we_o of_o it_o a_o saint_n happiness_n in_o heaven_n can_v be_v lose_v nor_o shall_v a_o godly_a man_n ever_o meet_v with_o any_o disappointment_n there_o unless_o it_o be_v by_o find_v a_o happiness_n far_o great_a than_o ever_o he_o imagine_v all_o in_o heaven_n be_v like_a unto_o the_o god_n of_o heaven_n permanent_a and_o abide_v it_o shall_v not_o be_v with_o a_o subject_a to_o no_o change_n or_o vicissitude_n and_o as_o for_o the_o loss_n of_o friend_n and_o relation_n a_o great_a affliction_n unto_o many_o in_o this_o world_n it_o shall_v not_o be_v so_o with_o we_o in_o heaven_n for_o whoever_o of_o they_o we_o meet_v with_o there_o they_o and_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v part_v saint_n in_o heaven_n have_v not_o only_o the_o best_a company_n but_o they_o have_v that_o society_n with_o the_o great_a advantage_n be_v such_o as_o shall_v never_o be_v break_v but_o continue_v everlasting_o here_o the_o people_n of_o god_n great_o love_v and_o delight_n in_o the_o society_n of_o one_o another_o as_o they_o be_v saint_n but_o because_o they_o be_v also_o sinner_n death_n will_v make_v a_o separation_n between_o they_o but_o when_o once_o sin_n be_v extirpate_v out_o of_o they_o as_o it_o shall_v be_v in_o heaven_n then_o as_o they_o shall_v be_v the_o best_a company_n so_o they_o shall_v be_v a_o perpetual_a society_n here_o the_o fear_n of_o lose_v our_o friend_n and_o relation_n be_v a_o great_a disquietment_n to_o we_o while_o we_o enjoy_v they_o but_o in_o heaven_n all_o such_o fear_n be_v abolish_v let_v but_o husband_n and_o wife_n let_v but_o parent_n and_o child_n let_v but_o friend_n and_o relation_n make_v heaven_n sure_a to_o their_o own_o soul_n let_v they_o but_o clear_v up_o to_o themselves_o their_o title_n unto_o that_o happiness_n that_o be_v to_o be_v enjoy_v in_o heaven_n through_o the_o great_a and_o bless_a redeemer_n and_o than_o though_o death_n will_v part_v they_o one_o from_o another_o for_o a_o time_n yet_o it_o shall_v certain_o bring_v they_o together_o again_o in_o heaven_n and_o though_o some_o of_o they_o be_v more_o happy_a than_o other_o because_o by_o die_v before_o they_o they_o get_v to_o heaven_n soon_o than_o they_o yet_o shall_v they_o all_o come_v thither_o in_o their_o appoint_a time_n and_o then_o shall_v they_o be_v free_v from_o all_o fear_n of_o ever_o be_v part_v asunder_o any_o more_o and_o instead_o thereof_o they_o shall_v know_v themselves_o to_o be_v confirm_v in_o the_o happy_a and_o everlasting_a enjoyment_n of_o one_o another_o in_o glory_n in_o this_o and_o if_o it_o be_v thus_o in_o the_o grave_a how_o much_o more_o shall_v it_o be_v so_o in_o heaven_n and_o that_o not_o by_o insensibleness_n and_o want_n of_o feel_v as_o it_o be_v with_o those_o that_o be_v dead_a but_o because_o the_o happiness_n of_o that_o state_n be_v so_o great_a as_o be_v not_o only_o exclusive_a of_o but_o can_v possible_o admit_v of_o any_o such_o thing_n as_o pain_n god_n at_o any_o time_n but_o especial_o not_o in_o this_o world_n because_o he_o can_v see_v the_o whole_a of_o his_o providential_a working_n at_o once_o his_o day_n as_o job_n speak_v be_v but_o as_o a_o shadow_n upon_o earth_n and_o they_o fly_v away_o so_o that_o he_o can_v see_v but_o little_a of_o what_o god_n be_v do_v but_o when_o we_o come_v to_o heaven_n the_o whole_a conduct_n of_o god_n providence_n in_o the_o administration_n of_o affair_n in_o the_o world_n shall_v be_v lay_v open_a to_o our_o view_n then_o shall_v all_o the_o revolution_n and_o occurrence_n of_o empire_n we_o to_o fear_v the_o loss_n of_o all_o earthly_a enjoyment_n and_o possible_o it_o may_v be_v necessary_a that_o god_n shall_v suffer_v such_o fear_n to_o prevail_v upon_o we_o that_o worldly_a that_o can_v be_v lose_v the_o gate_n of_o the_o new_a jerusalem_n that_o be_v of_o heaven_n be_v therefore_o say_v to_o stand_v open_a to_o show_v there_o be_v no_o fear_n of_o any_o enemy_n these_o bless_a saint_n of_o god_n live_v together_o at_o one_o time_n and_o in_o one_o place_n here_o on_o earth_n as_o they_o now_o be_v in_o heaven_n will_v not_o every_o godly_a man_n be_v great_o desirous_a if_o it_o be_v possible_a to_o see_v they_o and_o to_o live_v with_o they_o especial_o if_o there_o be_v none_o but_o such_o among_o they_o that_o they_o may_v be_v particular_o and_o distinct_o acquaint_v with_o they_o and_o will_v not_o this_o knowledge_n tend_v much_o to_o their_o delight_n and_o satisfaction_n sure_o it_o will_v and_o be_v it_o irrational_a to_o suppose_v that_o when_o all_o the_o saint_n that_o have_v live_v from_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o world_n unto_o the_o end_n of_o it_o shall_v all_o meet_v together_o in_o heaven_n that_o they_o may_v be_v comnication_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o love_n to_o a_o soul_n in_o holy_a duty_n be_v so_o much_o to_o be_v desire_v because_o therein_o it_o enjoy_v god_n and_o have_v thereby_o the_o manifestation_n of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n seal_v and_o confirm_v to_o it_o be_v not_o then_o the_o immediate_a presence_n of_o god_n in_o heaven_n much_o more_o to_o be_v desire_v where_o the_o soul_n shall_v for_o it_o discover_v a_o unbodied_a state_n of_o happiness_n to_o be_v enjoy_v by_o holy_a soul_n in_o another_o world_n after_o which_o there_o shall_v be_v such_o strong_a working_n and_o earnest_a groan_n as_o shall_v carry_v forth_o the_o soul_n in_o holy_a long_n and_o desire_n after_o the_o participation_n thereof_o and_o this_o now_o be_v not_o a_o frame_n of_o soul_n to_o be_v find_v in_o a_o believer_n upon_o a_o death_n bed_n only_o but_o it_o be_v that_o which_o shall_v be_v the_o joyful_a companion_n of_o his_o life_n in_o the_o time_n of_o his_o health_n and_o strength_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v this_o because_o god_n and_o heaven_n have_v the_o same_o loveliness_n and_o desireableness_n in_o they_o at_o one_o time_n that_o they_o have_v at_o another_o in_o health_n that_o they_o have_v in_o sickness_n in_o life_n as_o they_o have_v in_o death_n and_o therefore_o they_o call_v for_o and_o deserve_v the_o same_o height_n of_o love_n and_o affection_n and_o the_o same_o strength_n of_o joy_n and_o delight_n to_o be_v exercise_v towards_o they_o when_o a_o believer_n have_v the_o great_a enlargement_n of_o outward_a prosperity_n as_o when_o he_o be_v under_o the_o soul_n and_o that_o which_o be_v rare_o find_v in_o any_o wicked_a man_n to_o be_v sure_a not_o upon_o good_a ground_n but_o true_o when_o i_o consider_v how_o much_o far_o a_o christian_n may_v go_v and_o what_o he_o be_v yet_o short_a of_o that_o may_v tend_v to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n the_o credit_n of_o the_o christian_a religion_n and_o the_o peace_n and_o comfort_n of_o his_o own_o soul_n methinks_v his_o present_a attainment_n compare_v with_o what_o be_v his_o duty_n to_o labour_v after_o be_v no_o extraordinary_a great_a thing_n for_o consider_v a_o little_a what_o a_o strange_a kind_n of_o expression_n be_v it_o and_o how_o harsh_o do_v it_o sound_a to_o say_v concern_v a_o believer_n that_o he_o be_v content_a to_o be_v happy_a as_o to_o worldly_a enjoyment_n it_o be_v not_o usual_a to_o say_v of_o any_o man_n that_o he_o be_v content_a to_o have_v they_o who_o say_v concern_v silver_n and_o gold_n that_o a_o man_n be_v content_a to_o be_v enrich_v with_o they_o no_o the_o common_a expression_n in_o this_o case_n be_v not_o that_o man_n be_v content_a to_o be_v rich_a but_o that_o they_o be_v covetous_a after_o riches_n and_o so_o for_o honour_n and_o outward_a greatness_n we_o say_v not_o that_o man_n be_v willing_a to_o be_v honour_v and_o advance_v above_o their_o neighbour_n but_o they_o be_v ambitious_a in_o seek_v after_o promotion_n and_o why_o then_o shall_v it_o be_v say_v of_o a_o christian_a only_o that_o he_o be_v content_a to_o be_v happy_a content_a to_o be_v with_o god_n in_o heaven_n now_o if_o worldly_a man_n desire_n work_v thus_o strong_o after_o earthly_a and_o temporal_a enjoyment_n which_o can_v make_v they_o happy_a when_o attain_v sure_o the_o desire_n of_o a_o christian_a shall_v work_v as_o strong_o after_o heavenly_a and_o eternal_a enjoyment_n which_o when_o attain_v can_v and_o will_v make_v they_o true_o and_o real_o happy_a and_o here_o i_o will_v add_v one_o thing_n let_v the_o whole_a creation_n
