as_o well_o as_o other_o speculation_n be_v pleasant_a and_o grateful_a to_o curious_a and_o inquisitive_a humour_n it_o may_v make_v man_n zealous_a in_o maintain_v and_o propagate_a such_o opinion_n with_o it_o the_o metaphor_n and_o similitude_n make_v use_v of_o in_o scripture_n of_o crown_n and_o sceptre_n and_o river_n of_o pleasure_n etc._n etc._n will_v easy_o affect_v a_o man_n fancy_n and_o make_v he_o wish_v to_o be_v there_o though_o he_o neither_o understand_v nor_o desire_v those_o spiritual_a pleasure_n which_o be_v describe_v and_o shadow_v forth_o by_o these_o and_o when_o such_o a_o person_n come_v to_o believe_v that_o christ_n have_v purchase_v these_o glorious_a thing_n for_o he_o he_o may_v feel_v a_o kind_n of_o tenderness_n and_o affection_n towards_o so_o great_a a_o benefactor_n and_o imagine_v that_o he_o be_v mighty_o enamour_a of_o he_o and_o yet_o all_o the_o while_n continue_v a_o stranger_n to_o the_o holy_a temper_n and_o spirit_n of_o the_o bless_a jesus_n and_o so_o instead_o of_o a_o deity_n he_o may_v embrace_v a_o cloud_n and_o what_o hand_n the_o natural_a constitution_n may_v have_v in_o the_o rapturous_a devotion_n of_o some_o melancholy_a person_n have_v be_v excellent_o discover_v of_o late_a by_o several_a learned_a and_o judicious_a pen_n to_o conclude_v there_o be_v nothing_o proper_a to_o make_v a_o man_n life_n pleasant_a or_o himself_o eminent_a and_o conspicuous_a in_o the_o world_n but_o this_o natural_a principle_n assist_v by_o wit_n &_o reason_n may_v prompt_v he_o to_o it_o and_o though_o i_o do_v not_o condemn_v these_o thing_n in_o themselves_o yet_o it_o concern_v we_o near_o to_o know_v and_o consider_v their_o nature_n both_o that_o we_o may_v keep_v within_o due_a bound_n and_o also_o that_o we_o may_v learn_v never_o to_o value_v ourselves_o on_o the_o account_n of_o such_o attainment_n nor_o lay_v the_o stress_n of_o religion_n upon_o our_o natural_a appetite_n or_o performance_n it_o be_v now_o time_n to_o return_v to_o the_o consideration_n consist_v of_o that_o divine_a life_n whereof_o i_o be_v discourse_v before_o that_o life_n which_o be_v hide_v with_o christ_n in_o god_n and_o therefore_o have_v no_o glorious_a show_n or_o appearance_n in_o the_o world_n and_o to_o the_o natural_a spirit_n will_v seem_v a_o mean_a and_o insipid_a notion_n as_o the_o animal_n life_n consist_v in_o that_o narrow_a and_o confine_v love_n which_o be_v terminate_v on_o a_o man_n self_n and_o in_o his_o propension_n towards_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v please_v to_o nature_n so_o the_o divine_a life_n stand_v in_o a_o universal_a and_o unbounded_a affection_n and_o in_o the_o mastery_n over_o our_o natural_a inclination_n that_o they_o may_v never_o be_v able_a to_o betray_v we_o to_o those_o thing_n which_o we_o know_v to_o be_v blamable_a
